Best to void this store. They have a bad customer service. I called to verify store hour and got there 2 hours before closing hour. We were asked to leave. They didn't even tune the violin to try. I would not buy the cheap violins which can easily be out of tune. read more

This is simply an updated rating for a review I wrote in 2013. I have moved up to 4 stars from 3 stars. In addition to the string instruments they have on hand, I have a friend who recently graduated from the Bob Cole Conservatory, Cal State Long Beach, who purchased his bassoon here. I also recently purchased a 1/8 bow for a violin that I am using to teach my granddaughter. Not exactly a great looking place but pretty decent prices on Chinese made instruments. If you know what to look for in string instruments you can get a good deal. I do not suggest a neophyte buy here as many Chinese produced instruments are unplayable. If you know what makes an instrument decent quality you can score. I have several friends who recommended a brand of violin/viola string called Feng Lin. They are similar to Dominants and are 1/4 the price. I have used some as replacements on school instruments and so far the tone is very good and they hold tuning. read more

Best hidden gems ... the best place to buy student grade violin. George is the the best, he knows everything about violin. My daughter has been taking violin class for the past few years, and yes just like all parents do .... I shop for the best deal for my kids without breaking the banks, especially you need new violin every 18-24 months ! Sizes matter 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4. They have everything in stock. Yes they are violin made in China, not all China made are bad. Listen for yourself, but for the same $ you pay, the sound quality is superb than the European made! I just bough a hand crafted fine nice wood grain 3/4 today from George, for the same quality it will cost me triple elsewhere because this place is a wholesaler. The owner's attitude is so bad, I bought a violin she said was handmade actually is not, the price is not that good too. I spent about $250 for violin and bow without box, when I asked for discount you can say no, but you can not tell customer so greedy so cheap......and keep the poker face. She was so mean. This place might not look as fancy, but boy it surprises me when I headed in! They have a great variety of selections of violins, which I was desperately looking for a decent one. I know it usually gets pricey to purchase an above average quality violin, but I found their price to be very reasonable comparing to the past few stores I've been to. George, the guy at the front was very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to string instruments (I'm sure he is just as good with other types of instruments as well). He was very patient and nice and knows exactly what I was looking for. He was really genuine and gave me some really good advice in picking just the right violin for my needs. This is the best musical instrument store in town. I came across the store through Yelp because it has the best rating. I decided to give it a try. I was surprised with their excellent customer services. The staff treated you like a friend. Not only they accommodated all my requests, but gave me very good advice on instrument. We needed to buy six guitars with different size and color. Lilly, the staff who specialized in guitar, was able to find all the guitars that we like. She was very patient and never showed frustration with my millions questions. The owner, Rosa, was equally helpful. It makes me feel that they open the store not for profit, it is more for their love for music. Rosa told me that they accepted used musical instrument donation. After fixing them, they sold very cheap to students who couldn't afford. The zipper for my guitar bag was broken. After mentioned it to Lilly, she told me that they could fix it for free. She even contacted me after it had been fixed. The zipper looked like brand-new. Now, for all my music needs, I will go to them. read more
