I first went to Rosa Negra almost 10 years ago and it was an excellent experience with Andres for a water color tattoo. He took a lot of care with a really special tattoo, checked on me throughout the 3-4 hour session and made sure that I was good. I feel like the price at the time was fair, and 10 years later my tattoo still looks good but could probably use some touching up soon. I went back recently for a fine line piece done by Zeb. I had an inspired idea, and he was honest about how the location wasn't great because it would fade fast and he feared I wouldn't be happy long term. He worked with me to redesign a totally new idea on the spot, and it was amazing. Zero rush, just wanting to make sure that I was happy. I love both my tattoos, I love that the experience felt personal, and I really don't believe I will go anywhere else after this second experience. read more

This was my first tattoo so I was scared it was going to hurt, but he was so fast and gentle I felt pretty much no pain at all! We discussed design, color, and size and the tattoo came out great! I can't say enough wonderful things about these guys. I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars. After a lot of research, we went here while on vacation in Cape Coral for memorial tattoos for my brother. The place is absolutely spotless. Not to mention beautiful. They have such a unique style. Not like any other tattoo shops we've been in before. This was my moms first time getting a tattoo, so she was beyond nervous. Andres made her feel so relaxed and was super understanding of her first time jitters. I was almost embarrassed about our tattoo choice because it was tiny and basic. Just my brothers initials with a tiny halo. I felt like it would be a waste of time for him, or belittle him in some way by wanting something so simple but it was very sentimental to us so we only wanted the best to do it. Andres never complained about it nor did he act like it was a waste of time. He was super professional through out. I told him after he finished my moms not to bother changing out the papers on the table and pillow being that only my mom had laid on it; he insisted. He changed every single piece of paper, needle, tube, and plastic wrap. Even went as far as wiping down the green soap bottle before starting mine. Very very sanitary. If you want a great tattoo along with a wonderful experience with super polite, gracious people. Go here. Their art speaks volumes. For four years, I've flown from Vegas to Miami to get work done by him because I know that his work isn't something that just anybody can do. He's an artist, has an eye for detail, and takes a lot of pride in his work. If you live in Florida and you don't get work done by him, you're not taking advantage of your resources. Came here for my first tattoo during the holidays. A bit of backstory: I was accepted into a prestigious graduate program last year(heh) and had a really hard time my first semester where I learned a lot about myself. I wanted to commemorate this rebirth by finally getting a piece on my arm. I was really interested in a Japanese style piece and decided on the Phoenix in a style that paid homage to that while incorporating a "newer"look. Found Andres and Sebastian via a search for Miami artists and I knew it would be great if Andres did it. So I set up the appointment and today it's finally done. Took two sessions and altogether was about 1200 for the piece which I think is fair for what was an excellent experience imo. Andres and Sebastian answered my questions, helped me with my lack of pain tolerance(coffee/breaks), and were just fun to hang around and talk shit with. Had been looking for a new artist since my previous artist hasn't been available for a while. Walk-in consultation with Mike Lee was very smooth. Made an appointment for later in the week. Showed up and his rendering was what I wanted and more. I presented him with a challenging tattoo fixing up another "artist's" foul up. Mike exceeded my expectation and fixed up the poor work done elsewhere, in a very creative manner. He's way cool to work with and really listens to what his clients are looking for. It's going to have to be a no for me. I'm getting a chest tattoo laser removed from them. The idea was an initial concept I was thinking out for years and I did my best explaining what I wanted through the various emails we exchanged and even had pictures of analogies. It was a 400$ piece by plus down payment for the "drawing".. but when I came in to get the tattoo and looked at the drawing, it was only based off of one picture I sent them out of six! Not only that but I also asked for color and discussed it and agreed upon it at the consultation but the day I came in to get the ink I guess in a way to make it easier or something they said it wasn't possible and told me black and grey. I shrugged everything off, but after the whole session, looking at the tattoo there was no contrast between my skin and the ink at all. From a far honestly it just looks like a big block of black and grey. Biggest regret but I can't do anything but blame myself, what did I expect from a place that has artist drinking coronas before a session. :/ btw I have a beautiful colorful new tattoo that was still doable on my shade of brown, I don't recommend going if you're any shade of brown (Black) and are interested in using colors. Update: Still regret it I wouldn't of minded paying if I got what I wanted, also I never followed up because no color can be put over black since black is the darkest color and so much of it was embedded into my skin. They're not a bad place though, but for black people go somewhere else. read more
