I was in Midtown and saw Wynwood Tattoo Co and walked in and talked to Brian. He was very friendly for walk ins as not all places are. The same day I got a paw print for Crissy the Brickell Beagle who passed away not long ago. It turned out perfect to detail of her exact print. I highly recommend Wynwood Tattoo Co. This review is a year overdue... literally. As a result, I don't remember the name of my tattoo artist. But all I remember is: 1. Scheduling via Yelp was super easy. 2. When I showed up, they took pre-payment which I was fine with. 3. Thank goodness I pre-paid because it secured my slot. Two to three more walk-ins came, and they were turned away because the artist was working with me. 4. I came with a (not-so-pretty) art inspiration, and the artist insisted on doing a custom art piece for me. I was thrilled with how it came out! 5. All in all, it took about four hours to sketch, finalize, and tattoo, including shading. The artist was patient with all my complaining about the pain and let me take breaks as needed. He even encouraged me when I wanted to give up: "Only this much left, you're doing great!" 6. I walked away with a beautiful tattoo that, to this day, gets more compliments than any of my other tattoos. I specifically requested thin strokes so the tattoo would be dainty and artsy, and he totally delivered. I'd get another tattoo here in a heartbeat... if I can get over the pain again. I can confidently say one year later that it's still my favorite tattoo of all time. read more

I went to them last minute on a trip from out of town. I had gotten a Terrible tattoo in which a bee ended up looking like a fly to me. I called and got an appointment immediately. I was received by Adrian who from the beginning got what I really wanted originally and totally remade my tattoo. This was my first tattoo experience and the owner and staff were awesome the entire time. I was looking to do a Keith Haring work, and they were very diligent and insistent on protecting the integrity of his art and guided me on the best way to capture it. I love and appreciate that level of detail and thought. The shop was filled with great conversation, a light touch during the tattoo, and the healing process has been so much easier and simple than some I have seen prior. Wynwood Tattoo Co. wasnt just getting a tattoo, it was an experience! I called ahead with a friend and they were ready for us to come in in 20 minutes. When we got there we were greeted by Jovan and then met Ko inside. She walked my friend and I through the shop customs and then her and all the guys designed our tattoos. They gave a ton of great options and Ko laid things out for us very clearly. We're two college girls, and have felt a bit intimidated when we've gotten tattoos before, but Ko totally got rid of that! She was super supportive of our designs too and didn't push anything on us. The artists are also crazy talented and have mastered the hyper-realistic tattoo as well as watercolor ones. I've been drawing for years and still can't draw a straight line, but Louis could do 5 no problem. I was super impressed! They also offer free touch ups! read more

This is an update of a review. On Monday evening I had a tattoo done in typewriter script. It was a Carl Sagan quote and the tattoo artist Dariel did a precise job and he had the kindest hands ever as I felt no pain during the tattoo. The cost of the tattoo was $300 which was quoted beforehand. It was Miami and things are pricier so I said okay although it did only take an hour. The manager responded promptly to a concern I had and I do appreciate the customer service. I will consider returning next time I am in the Florida area. read more

I had a great experience at this establishment--from scheduling to the checking out process. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They still have to work on my portrait tattoo, but that's coming soon in January hopefully, but to be honest I had a very good general experience with them the attendant/ Artist named Mia was very polite and welcoming. Jovanni the owner is very accommodating and all of them try to give you a warm and welcoming experience. Will come back for sure. read more

Terrible customer service. Got overcharged $250 for my first session. I paid $1000 at my first session it was suppose to be two sessions at $750 a piece. A total of $1500 I called to schedule my second session, mind you this is a custom piece. They told me the artist left the shop and that someone else would do it. Like I said this a custom piece I don't want another artist to finish it. When I called to inquire about a refund for the $250 extra I paid for my first session, I was laughed at and hung up on. What kind of customer service is this? The owners are very aggressive. Do they not understand that this is a custom piece? You don't have another person go over a Picasso painting... same with a custom tattoo. These people don't understand the true meaning of art. read more

Atrocious experience!!! A did my tattoo retouch a few months ago and after a healing process was done I realized a few patches that were missed by master. Immediately contacting the of the shop I had opportunity to speak to the owner who named himself Jovan. Explaining him what exactly happened, describing the artist and the dates of the visit and he said that there is no problem and he is gonna send a confirmation to my cell with an appointment to fix mistakes with no cost. I double asked if there is anything else I should provide Coming next morning all excited and happy and taking my partner to support me I ended up witnessing absolute unprofessional and extremely poor treatment. The only master at the shop at that moment wasn't aware of the fact that we were coming and asked for older confirmations. Feeling already aggravated that I have to go through the same conversation I instantly contacted Jovan again who's at that point wouldn't recognize our, fix shops mistake at no cost and he only can provide a poor discount, constantly twisting his words and tried to make me pay same amount as my first retouch. I wasted my time, my partners time by coming to this shop that clearly has zero consideration and professionalism (clearly masters don't stay long) towards their patrons and faced only false promises. Pathetic. read more

This place was a SCAM!!!!!! never not once during my time @ wynwood tattoo co. did they ever mention a price over their "house full sessions $500" and guess what happened next. THE TATTOO ARTIST CHARGED US OVER $500!!! At the time i didn't have the means to pay that off and they were not flexible with working out the price. In fact, she argued back saying it was "art for life" but had tattooed her tracing of a picture i showed her off of Pinterest. DO NOT GO THERE if you don't want to be broke and disrespected read more

I got a tattoo from Wynwood Tattoo while in Miami visiting and was impressed with the availability and location. They were able to take me even though I called the day of, and the artist was very nice. He was stoked about doing my Keith Haring tattoo. He was very knowledgeable and knew the history of Keith Haring and other famous street artists. I had a really good time talking to him and he was awesome. The tattoo itself though, was not great. It was cool when it was finished, but as it healed, the lines faded (i know how to heal tattoos considering I have many others) and I ultimately had to get the entire tattoo re-done when I got home to San Diego. It was a waste of $150. read more

To start when I first made the appointment the actual owner contacted me and was super helpful and fast with getting me an appointment. We came to our appointment early and was welcomed by this amazing woman named Ko. I loved her energy so much that I let her do my first tattoo on me and she was soooo light handed. She took her time on doing sketches with me and my friends and we loved our tattoos. I'm definitely going back to visit my new favorite tattoo friend in the summer time. My best friend and I decided on a whim to get our first tattoos and chose Wynwood tattoo. First off, we were welcomed very warmly by Jovan, the owner of the shop. He proceeded to do through the whole process in depth and answer allll questions we had. He worked with us to finalize the exact tattoo we wanted and really took his time with us. We never felt rushed or like we were asking stupid questions. His patience and hospitality really made the whole process a lot easier from us. When it came time to get the tattoos done, Frank was the artist that did them for us. He also was very patient and thoroughly explained everything to us. Went down to Miami for a weekend getaway and decided to get tattoos with my wife. We made a 3pm appointment and when we got there, both artist were with other clients. The artist that was going to be taking care of us was just getting started on a very large leg piece. He stopped briefly to talk to us about what we were wanting and then stepped out to smoke a cigarette. We decided that we didn't want to waste our entire day in the shop so we left the shop and walked around the local shops. We left our number in hopes to get a call. We came back almost 3 hours later and he was still working on the same person and never called. I don't understand why they would book so many appointments when they were clearly overwhelmed. They only had two artist. If someone was getting that big of a tattoo they should of blocked out instead of overbooking and wasting people's time. read more

My two best friends and I decided randomly to get tattoos while visiting wynwood and we called a ton of different places that gave us ridiculous prices and we almost lost hope until we found wynwood tattoo company. The owner, Jovan, is a true professional. He was so personable and was awesome enough to give us a deal for our tattoos. Since we all wanted something super tiny, he let us pay the price of one tattoo divided by 3, so we each payed about $60, which is unheard of in this area where minimums are usually $150 and above. The shop is super laid back and clean and he had Netflix on and let us choose what we wanted to watch and had complimentary drinks. He asked us for our ideas and like a true artist he was able to give his creative input to help us find exactly what we were looking for. His knowledge about tattoos was through the roof, he was able to justify any opinion he had and has decades of experience so he really knows the good and bad about tattoos and it showed in the way he explained things. He was so patient, the most patient tattoo artist I've ever gone to. He was willing to edit our ideas a million times before we were satisfied and kept telling us he has absolutely no problem changing anything no matter how slight without making us feel rushed like other artists have done before. His personality was so welcoming and understanding that I want to come back here for every tattoo. The actual work they do is spectacular, very clean lines and shading. I was so satisfied with their customer service and their artistry that I would drive back to Miami just to come back here for my next tattoo! read more

I LOVE this place! I have been here twice. The staff is so helpful in designing a tattoo that is right for you. I came in with a vision and they executed it perfectly. The environment is relaxed with music playing in the background. Super sanitary and get really safe when they were tatting me. I showed up 45min later, they explained to me that they normally work with big tattoos but they also want ppl like me to have the chance to get small tattoos made from great artists! Wow!! Great costumer service !!! Can't wait for my next tattoo !! Their attention to detail is on another level making me feel so comfortable with the whole experience. They aren't cheap but after asking around I feel like I paid a fair price specially for the quality of work !! They charge $200 for the first hr & $150/hr after that but give you a price before you start giving me peace of mind that if it took longer I would not be charged extra . I ended up paying $750 and was there from noon and left around 5pm with an amazing experience . Well worth it for my amazing tattoo !! I just asked for my next appointment but they are booked until March so make sure to make your appointment as they are in high demand. Btw They do not charge for the initial consult. Thank you guys sooooo much I'm soooo happy!!!! Can't wait to see you guys again !!!! read more

They are all so professional and knowledgeable. All my piercings have healed well and if I do ever run into an issue, they are always quick to respond. Today I got two stacked lobe and my septum pierced, all by Noel. He was super kind (and funny) from the moment we entered the shop. The piercing process itself was a breeze. I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about this shop and I recommend them to every person that tells me they're looking to get pierced.

Upon arrival Rafael drew something up to his liking of my reference but it was completely different than what I was expecting. In minor shock I was silent. I have two full stomach tattoos, 3 portraits, a half leg sleeve, and a back neck tattoo all done by differing artist and none have ever changed what i wanted so drastically. Rafael felt my vibe being off and then offered me to work with him on what we could do. Not dead set on the tattoo I originally showed him 3 months in advance I asked if he did portraits as I would like one more. He pointed to one that I already had and blatantly asked "why don't you just go back to that artist?". Once again I was taken aback by the comment. After discussing not doing another tattoo we set back on track for the original reference and idea I provided. He drew something much closer to what I wanted but I asked for more detail. He assured me there would be more detail in the actual tattoo than in the drawing. He also assured me that the sizing wasn't an issue and would connect to my other tattoos. After he was 'finished' neither promises were kept. The tattoo looks unfinished in detailing especially in comparison to what I asked for and in the look of my tattoo style. The tattoo also does not fade into my other tattoo shading. This is so disappointing as he had an apprentice with him who was listening to Rafael call himself extremely talented and gifted and naturally amazing at tattooing. This also left me so unsatisfied I decided to pay and leave as he did not want to (or could not) do what I asked for. I will now have to spend more money with a different artist to finish what he started.
