We held our oldest daughter's college graduation celebration dinner at Rosaria's this past weekend and I can honestly say that they lived up to my expectations. The planning was a breeze. Nicole was a pleasure to work with and was so accommodating and responded to any and every request/ question in a timely and professional manner. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the patio, grounds, landscaping and waterfall are gorgeous. We took countless pictures of our graduate surrounded by her friends and family and the flowers and waterfall were the perfect backdrop. The food was plentiful, delicious and fresh and our server Jessica was efficient, responsive, friendly and never intrusive. I took a leap of faith as I had never been to Rosaria's prior to our event and after reading the reviews I was a little nervous but there really was no need to be. The wait staff were personable and attentive. Food was excellent. The Rosaria salad was amazing and the waitress offered to split it in the kitchen since we were splitting it. The onion soup was slightly sweet but delicious. The side of lobster Mac and cheese could have used a little bit more lobster but was nevertheless yummy. Bone in sirloin was to die for and the shrimp scampi with risotto had gigantic shrimp and flavor. The expressos were definitely European style full of flavor. Home made tiramisu was awesome. First time stopping into Rosaria with my girlfriend on a Saturday night, didn't have a reservation but they manged to get us in very fast while we got a few drinks at the bar. We sat in a booth with a fantastic view of their patio outside, service was fantastic. We got a few apps that were to die for, the grilled oysters were out of this world I had two orders for myself. The manager hand delivered our entrees because I couldn't stop talking about the oysters. Young manager very attentive I was impressed with him. Have been hearing about this place from a friend for a while. Finally went for an event - flower design with apps. I was impressed. Didn't have a meal, but they served a variety of appetizers - very nicely done. The restaurant was nearly empty - the one thing I keep hearing is that it can't last much longer if they don't fill the place. That's sad, because the food seems wonderful and the decor is definitely upscale for the area. The terrace is absolutely beautifully done. Rosaria Restaurant in Saugus, MA off of Route One offers fine steakhouse also offering an extensive wine list and several Italian specials for dinner. We began our wonderful evening entering a richly appointed grand entrance adorned with an Italian marble staircase, dark woodwork, rich colors and beautiful artwork with soothing music and soft lighting. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who checked our coats and escorted us past the wine display, wine lockers, the bar and down the corridor to a most comfortable and spacious booth (important for me since I am a big man) overlooking the exterior patio and waterfall. Our beverages of choice were a fine red wine from Abruzzi region of Italy and Voss sparkling water. The crusty ciabatta bread, appropriately textured with nooks and crannies, was served warm with rosette-formed butter delicately and deliciously infused with garlic. For dinner with my wife, we first ordered Oysters Rockefeller, as an appetizer. However, we were tempted to order the Iced Shellfish Tower composed of fresh oysters, jumbo shrimp, half lobster and jumbo lump crab cocktail, but were intimidated with the size considering that we were planning to have other substantial entrees. We weren't disappointed with the appetizer. In fact, it exceeded our expectations arriving at the table sizzling hot in a beautiful serving casserole that perfectly accommodated each of the 6 large oysters. The oysters were tender and cooked perfectly within the Rockefeller filling. This was followed by the Rosaria house salad providing a variety of salads, small morsels of blue cheese and pancetta delicately seasoned with the Rosaria house dressing. We loved the lightness of this salad. We also had the caprese salad composed of finely sliced red and yellow heirloom tomatoes with a centerpiece imported burrata bufalo mozzarella ball that had a soft creamy center gently sprinkled with salt, pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar and fresh green basil leaves. The flavors provided much comfort to the palate. My main entre was a 16-0z bone-in filet mignon perfectly cooked, medium, and served with grilled asparagus and a huge Idaho baked potato outside seasoned with salt and olive oil. The filet mignon was juicy, tender, tasty and charred just right on the outside. Several sauces were also available to complement the steak: Barolo Mushroom Demi-glace, Béarnaise, Arugula Pesto, Horseradish Cream or melted Blue Cheese. My wife had the chicken pasta al olio with peas and asparagus that was very light, tasty and al dente, so bountiful that over half the entre was taken home. We capped the meal off with coffee and 3 large scopes of strawberry-lemon sorbet served in a martini glass. There was a strong fruity essence of strawberry and lemon resulting in a pleasant ending to a large meal. Our waiter, Vinny, was attentive, courteous, and very knowledgeable of the menu, insuring that each entrée was served at the appropriate time. Needless to say, for a fine dining restaurant, we give 10+ out of 10 points for food, atmosphere and beauty for Rosaria. It is an upscale restaurant and accordingly priced. My wife and I recently had a wonderful meal at the new Pace's restaurant Rosaria. The menu, food and service are comparable to the best of the best steakhouses in Boston and I've been to all of them over the years. Everything was done top-notch and the restaurant décor is stunning. We enjoyed a glass of wine at the beautiful bar prior to dinner and then we sat and enjoyed our apps, meal and desert. You would never know you were upstairs from their supermarket below; truly amazing and I'd encourage even the most skeptical critic to give it a try....you won't be disappointed. read more

Outstanding food but super pricey. Service is sufficient but certainly not in-line with pricing. It is sort of out of place where it is located and charging what they do. Average entree is about $35-$50 plus sides are extra. It would probably do real well in downtown Boston, but it is in Saugus in a small strip-mall next to a Kmart. I was so surprised and pleased with the atmosphere at Rosaria restaurant. My experience was exceptional from the moment we were greeted at the door. The bartenders were very busy but made a nice attempt to acknowledge us right away. The steaks were cooked perfectly as you would expect from a high end steak house and the service was great too. We went in because we had a Groupon. We sat at the bar. The place is beautiful. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had the bread a dipping sauce and it was fabulous. We ordered the calamari, the portion was generous and cooked to perfection. The entrees and sandwiches we ordered were delicious. We went in thinking it would just be a one time thing, but we are definitely going back. It was an unexpected surprise; the ambiance, the food and the staff, all excelled. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. We were amazed at how beautiful it is inside. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious. I had the filet and my husband had the swordfish both were cooked to perfection. We split a tiramisu for dessert which was amazing. We will definitely be back. i eat out every night of the week in boston restaurants and outside of the boston area. last night we had our 50th high school reunion at rosaria and i can't begin to tell you how fabulous the food & service is. rosaria has prime meat & all the other selections that boston restaurants have without the hassle of going thru the tunnel or over the bridge, and the expense of valet parking. why anyone would want to go into the city when this restaurant offers just as much & more than most city restaurants is beyond me. god bless you joe pace, you did it again. read more

Ambiance is nice, and service was attentive until the end of the meal (I can't stand being held captive waiting for the check when to are ready to leave). Overall, however, I feel it is really expensive for what it is. Capital Grille or Grill 23 prices for food of lesser quality. We went for Mother's Day and had a fantastic dining experience! The service was great from hello to goodbye. The calamari appetizer was terrific, salads were chilled, and the entrees were delicious. Went for Easter after reading some great reviews on this site. It was not good at all. Overpriced and food is average to just not good. Party of nine that included 2 kids. Reservation but still waited at least 20 minutes. On our way to the table the women seating us stopped to talk to someone else. We stood there for at least 2-3 minutes watching them talk until we could be finally shown to the table. 3 items on the kids menu, and maybe 10 on the adult. Appetizers were very overpriced and average at best. Ceaser salad as appetizer fed maybe 2 people $12 and consisted of store bought croutons romaine and dressing. The 99 restaurant offers a better ceaser salad for half the cost. The veal wasn't good, ordered a steak medium well for the 2 small kitchen kids to share and that came medium rare. Did my best to cut around it, kids are hungry cannot send back. Pointed it out and wasted most of the $30 steak. They offered some ice cream. No thanks we ordered steak not ice cream. For a bill that was over $400 we would have had better food, better selection from almost any chain restaurant around. So many restaurants around that are worth that type of bill. Hardcover, toscanas, petrillos. 4 of the 9 were still hungry when they left. I can't say I'll be going back...ever. Just disappointed wish it was better read more

very disappointed!!! we were very excited to try rosaria steakhouse in saugus. the customer service was very nice but the food was aweful. the french onion soup was not of this world. we thought dinner would be better. my roasted chicken was very dry and flavorless as was my husband's steak. we were going to share a side of mashed potatoes but they had no flavor. they tasted like they were made with no salt, pepper, or butter. trying to remain optimistic we asked for a box to take the food home for our dog and ordered tiramisu for dessert. it was not edible. we will continue our visits to ruth chris and pellana's but not rosaria's....i fealt even more disgust as we were leaving and i knew that the hostess at the podium enjoying her cheetos was having a better meal than we had.....c read more

I don't know where to start...service terrible it took three times to take a drink order first time girl took the order only to find out she just started as a hostess and didn't know the system and was not qualified to take the order..ok so that took 10 minutes. Server came and we had to to it all over again and listen to the specials once again another 10 minutes. Asked for butter three times for the bread which took another 10 minutes. Ordered the cod with lump crab no lump crab only cod and spinach and the it was sitting in a bed of water. My husbands frutti de marre was so salty he couldn't even eat it, once the food came out the server never ever came back to ask how everything was. When he did come back he cleared the plates and one of our dinners had half a plate of food he took it without asking how everything was or if she wanted to take it home. Then no mention of coffee or dessert. Giving this one star all around, we then spoke to several diners in the bar who had the same experience with service and food. Been there and will never go back or recommend this place albeit beautiful inside does not make up for poor quality of service and food. Too many other restaurants worthy of a night out. read more

We went to Rosaria recently with a coupon for which we paid $55 with a choice of 10 oz filet or salmon. My husband chose the filet and thought it was cooked just right and was great. I had the salmon. It was a big piece of fish that they just threw on the grill with no seasoning. Our plates just had the fish/filet with a little garnish. The salads that were included were large and tasty. The drinks were reasonable and very good. But the regular menu is so expensive that we will not go back unless we sit at the bar and have small bites from the bar menu. The prices are higher than any restaurant we have gone to in the area. If they cut all their prices by $10, the prices would still be high. I think they are trying to be a Ruth Chris Steakhouse. But this is in the town of Saugus next to a VFW and K Mart. It is not Boston or New York. Too bad because we loved the ambience. It is a lovely restaurant. read more

Went to see Vinyl Groove and decided on dinner beforehand. Six of us were seated at our reservation time. The surroundings were lovely. Waitress asked if we were t here for the show and when told yes promised to get us out to the Party in great time. App came before the drinks, and then we waited forever for the WAY overpriced dinners to arrive. Food was "meh". The one steak that someone got, was enjoyed and cooked perfectly. Butternut squash ravs.....you got 5....NOT the BIG ones....regular little raviolis. The diner could have eaten three orders, but would have had to mortgage his home. Our waitress turned mean after one of the party asked that three separate checks be proffered for the three couples. OK, little odd, but, all of a sudden we didn't exist to her. When she didn't bring my change back, I tracked her down. She was pissed that the 35% wasn't her tip, and condescendingly counted out the change tableside, once she retrieved it. I need to be honest....I am ashamed to say we listened to negative comments people made early on when Rosaria's first opened about pricing and not good food. It kept us away, when we should have known better and seen for ourself. We had one of the best bartenders wait on us. Janice welcomed us in a manor that made us feel like we were regulars....she made a fantastic Raspberry Lime Rickey Martini....her recommendations for the fried oyster app was on point!! We had the pork chop, surf & turf dinners with a side of whipped potato. The meals were unbelievably flavor filled, portions more than enough and prices.... no more than what you would expect to pay for an absolutely delicious meal!! Warm inviting atmosphere...Janice was attentive to us from the moment we walked in until the minute we left...we were not the only patrons at the bar....it was filled and she was attentive to everyone. Greeted each person as they entered and sat. That is awesome customer service!! We will be back!!! read more

My husband got a Groupon deal and wanted to try our neighborhood Italian Steakhouse restaurant. We came here as a party of four and didn't have high expectation after reading Yelp reviews. Outside appearance is soooo deceiving. Interior appearance was AMAZING, beat many famous steakhouse in Boston. I must say, the interior pictures of this restaurant don't do Rosaria any justice at all. Just absolutely stunning in person. If you want to impress someone with ambience, this is the place !!!!! OK...food wise...Like I mentioned earlier, I didn't have high expectation of this place. We went here on a Thursday night, a day after Christmas and the place was pretty much empty, only about 3 to 4 other tables besides us. I didn't mind, better service for us. ;)) The bread and dipping sauce was good. The first batch of bread came out at room temperature, but the second batch of bread came out warm which I like. The salads were HUGH, none of us expected that. I ordered the insalata salad, and I liked it a lot. I tried the house salad from the other people at my table and I liked that one too, I liked that it had bits of bacon. It make the salad interesting. I tried the caesar salad and I didn't care for it. The dressing was not as flavorful as other places. Though they had some kind of fried something that came with the caessar salad, I can't recall, it was interesting. They should make it as an appetizer. My husband ordered the filet mignon medium, and he loved it. It was perfectly seared outside and melt in your mouth inside. Mine was surf and turf....it was ok for me, I should have ordered the filet mignon medium instead of medium well. My fault !!!! My friend ordered the steak Delmonico medium, I tried it and I loved it. I should have ordered that instead !!! Her partner ordered braised beef...I didn't try it, but he liked it a lot. Then came the dessert...we ordered the chocolate mousse, cannoli, and something limoncello ice cream (??)...I liked the ice cream the most !!! It so refreshing after a heavy meal. The chocolate mousse was great. Cannoli ...ummm...I didn't care for the filling as much. I had better cannoli. Overall, it was a great meal and experience. I just returned from Rosaria's Valentine party (That's Amore). Paid $150.00 per couple for, gummy pasta that looked like it had been sitting all day then warmed up, over cooked roasted potatoes, chicken picata that was made with so much concentrated lemon juice that was not broke down that the chicken was uneatable and cold shredded vegetables. Then they had the gall to charge $8.50 for a 3oz. glass of wine and $12.00 for a martini. The entertainment was as bad as the food and keyed to all the pisans that came in from the north end of Boston. I watched one whole table of 12 leave before the show started. 4 people left before the food was served, and others complained that it was a wasted $75.00 per person and that they would never return for another function. I know I wont. Rosaria's needs a function manager that knows how to plan and coordinate functions, if not, Pace's should continue to do what they do best and that is to run there retail market, which the do very well, and leave the restaurant business to those that know how to run restaurants. Boston prices and poor quality of food and service will have them out of business real soon. can only give one star because I have to in order to post. Otherwise it would get a minus 5 in my book. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by Rosaria after reading all the reviews. When we arrived I didn't know what to expect because from the outside the restaurant didn't look like much, but when I ever opened the door and ran into 2 flights of which appeared to be marble stairs in this grand entry way...I was elated. When we reached the hallway and were seated in what I believe to be one if the most beautiful restaurants I've been in, I thought to myself...this has to be the best kept secret in Saugus. I was greeted by michelle, and like the interior of the restaurant...she was a gem, attentive...knowledgable about the menu and wine list...she took great care if us. We started with Rosaria salads and the dressing was like a flavor burst in my mouth...loved it!!! I followed up with a Delmonico steak which was cooked to perfection and like butter in my mouth, while my friend had the Filet and lobster pasta and felt the exact same way. I enjoyed a nice carrot cake and cappuccino while my friend had an espresso martini from the list of many drinks. Not only will I go back, but I will suggest it to anyone who is looking for great atmosphere and wonderful food...two thumbs up!!! read more

After having had dinner several times at Rosaria Steak House and finding it to be a great restaurant with outstanding food, I chose Rosaria Steak House to have two private functions this year. The first one was a sit down dinner in January. The food, the service and the ambience could not have been better. My guests raved about the party for weeks. The servers were outstanding and more than attentive, the food was served in a timely manner, piping hot and absolutely delicious. After such a positive experience, there was no doubt that Rosaria would be the place for my second function in May, which was a brunch. Again, the food was great, and the service, from the carvers, to the wait staff, to the bar servers was truly unmatched. I was very satisfied with both of my functions and in preparation for each function, the function coordinator walked me through each party every step of the way with great suggestions and recommendations. The location worked out very well too. My guests did not have to travel to Boston, and the parking was ample. read more

Went to Rosaria for dinner with a Groupon. Even with a Groupon, this place is ridiculously expensive (even without cocktails!) for a restaurant outside of Boston. The best thing was the crab cake appetizer. House salads were overdressed with too much oil in the very bland dressing. One salad was warm and wilted. Filet was a good cut of meat and cooked as ordered. Salmon was tasteless!! Not a drop of seasoning on it -- no salt and pepper, no lemon, nothing!!! Truffle steak fries were ok; broccoli with garlic and lemon had no taste. Service was slow, confusing and just all over the place. We had to ask for lemon three times before the bus boy brought some to our table. Manager was causing more confusion than helping. The party at the next table waited over 45 minutes AFTER they finished their salads to get their entrees. If you're supposed to be a big man steakhouse, then act like a big man steakhouse. I will NOT be back. Would have been better off to stop for a brew at the VFW right next door!! read more
