Warning ! Stadium prices for Bud Light, Coors light bottles and pints!! The drinks here are very very very expensive. $9 dollars for a Bud Light on a Tuesday evening! No food specials or drink specials. And the bartenders didn't know the prices -- when you ask them -- hey how much is a Bud Light? They actually have to look it up on their screen. They don't know the prices of their own drinks where they work. Very strange. The average price for a Bud Light or pretty much any beer, whether it's a pint or a bottle on Whyte Avenue or downtown is $5 bucks. Some places you may pay up to $6.50 maybe $7 dollars tops like at pricier places like Sherlock Holmes or Kelly's Pub but places sych as: Hudson's, The Pint, Black dog O'Byrne's, Leopolds, Cabin, Greta, The Local, Brown's social hall, Original Joe's, Earl's, 1st Rnd, Canadian brewhouse, Canadian icehouse, Cactus club, & MKT, etc. You're not paying more than $4-7 bucks and maybe $7-10 bucks if you're getting 24 ounce pint, a tankered or Stein or an imported beer with a very high alcohol percentage of 7%-9%. And that's every day all day including Friday and Saturday nights, etc. So at this neighbourhood bar on a Tuesday evening it's double the cost of everywhere else in the city. Bud Light with a tip was $11 that's more than the Commonwealth Stadium at football games! At the Commonwealth, you can get a big tall boy can fat Can for $10.75 -- and a regular sized pint or can of Coors light Bud Light, Pilsner, Miller, etc., for $8.75 read more

This place is now called Crackerjacks. So, went for a beer and food with my sis here. Beer specials are a little pricey. When we arrived, I almost turned around. Place looks like a dive; dark, still smells like cigarette smoke, dirty, only good thing is that they have pool tables. Server was a rattlesnake. Ordered a Keith's pint for about $1 more than the other nearest pub. Then we ordered the lunch special, fish & chips for $14.99. One piece of fish and a few fries. I wish I could give half stars because this place would be getting a solid 2.5 from me. It's out of the way and everything you'd expect from a dive bar. The fun thing about this place was their karaoke. They have a ginormous book of songs to choose from and they have everything from rap to teenage boy bands for you to choose from so there really is something for everyone. It makes for a pretty fun night if you've got a good group to go with. They also have a couple of pool tables and darts that you can play. Now to the not so good. Their service was horrible. They seem to be understaffed and the staff they have working don't seem to be in any hurry and always seem to mess up drink orders (either leaving out your order or messing up your drink). We had to go up to the bar a couple of times because the server just decided to stop serving our table and we had been sitting there with empty glasses for almost 10 minutes. So if you're looking for a bit of a dive bar, a sports bar, a pool hall or a karaoke bar, Rosario's might fit the bill. Every time I've been here, it has primarily been because of my desire to attend karaoke with friends, and this is where this place shines. Not only is there a good mix of songs, a good karaoke host (who makes sure you sound less bad than you could otherwise sound) but there's a good range of singers and some song books to pick songs out of along with plenty of papers to write your songs upon to hand to the host. The food and beverage is really inexpensive and not terribly outstanding but is on par for dive bar food so there's that. The bathrooms are useful and clean but nothing special. The interior is a bit dated too, but really you're most likely here to play pool or watch a game or spend time with friends or sing and none of those things prioritize particularly good food (and the drink specials can be pretty good if you're looking for that)! I also like the fact that the staff realize that copious amounts of water are also needed if you're going to be singing. The pizza isn't as bad as one might imagine as well -- I enjoyed it the times I've had it. read more

Rosario's is the best. Well, it's the best at being what it is, anyways. & That's being the local watering hole and i say this with absolute admiration and respect - dive bar. The place is huge, and the decor does not appear to have been updated in literally decades. Peep the Curtis Joseph Oilers poster by the dart boards. Not too say it's ugly or anything, just unpretentious. But that's not why you come to Rosario's. Not for the food either (though I wouldn't say it's bad for a dive bar). Pretty much standard, in that regard. You come to Rosario's for a number of reasons though... #1 is karaoke. Sing your lungs out to a receptive crowd with fellow singers of all abilities, Friday and Saturday every weekend. Break some balls on any one of the many pool tables. Generally you won't have to wait for too long for a table or beware of sharks. Or play some darts on the dart boards I mentioned. The staff is generally super sweet and helpful, too in my experience. Don't expect to get pints of fancy-pants craft or local beer, or some high end cocktail - but why not order some pitchers of domestic and have a blast with the diverse crowd and take in one of the best dive bars in the area? read more

Aditya R. and I don't own any TVs and wanted to watch the Oscars. Since neither of us scored an invitation to an Oscar party, somebody on Twitter mentioned that we could watch the Oscars on the giant TV Screen at Rosario's. So Aditya kindly drove us to a part of town I rarely visit, just north of the Cemetery. And while I was expecting to see a dive-y bar on the order of the H20 Lounge on Whyte Ave, we instead encountered an industrial-looking, but clean and comfortable Canadian-style Pub. The bar itself has a great selection of liquors. The beer selection is limited to 8-or-so Canadian macro-brews (of the selection, I would say Sleeman Honey Brown is the best they have on tap), but the beer costs only $14.50/pitcher on Sunday nights. The biggest surprise of this pub is the deliciousness of its food. Aditya and I ordered a plate of Chicken Wings. Not only were they perfectly fried, we were able to choose from among 24 different sauces. We went with the Honey Garlic Hot Sauce sauce, which I will recommend. And while we only ordered 12 wings, the server gave us 24 at no additional charge (it was a slow night). And because the hot wings did not tide us over, and somebody had recommended the pizza to Aditya. And the pizza happened to be a perfectly executed, with a nice amount of bubble in the cheese on top, a thin, dense crust which still had a little bit of bounce and a good amount of browning on the bottom. The sauce was well seasoned. While we were able to watch the Oscars for about an hour and a half with the sound, a number of others there wanted to listen to the jukebox instead. We were then stuck listening to the Georgia Satellites' "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" and other similar rock tunes of the 80s until Karaoke began at 9PM. And the Karaoke setup is pretty well done. There's an ESPN-style ticker on a giant screen which indicates who is coming up next., in addition to the lyrics of the song currently being sung. Quality of singers varies - we heard a good rendition of "Gunpowder and Lead" and a horrible version of "Broken Wings." I look forward to returning to Rosario's to sing some karaoke and eat some pizza. read more

I didnât come to Rosarioâs for the karaoki â" and I didnât leave because of it either. I came here just to try out some place new, and my boyfriend and I stayed because the pitchers of beer were cheap, the service was friendly and the food was almost under-priced. It was pub fare at 1990 prices â" which just leaves you more money to drink! The Karaoki was in full swing when we got there and, surprisingly, it wasnât awful. This place, we learned, is known for itâs sound system, so lots of avid singers come here so they can sing like the stars. Rosario's is surprisingly awesome. Why was I surprised? When I first heard that Rosario's might be showing the Oscars I had the impression that the place was a small divey pub with a 21" tube TV from the 90s. I was pretty amazed that on entering the front doors I was greeted by this huge and expansive lounge area with a bar in the middle. Yet the lighting, music, staff and overall atmosphere is one of a regular Canadian pub, in a good way. Yes they have VLTs and also have a couple of pool tables. The middle bar region has about 4-5 flat screens dressing it for folk that prefer sitting at the bar. Then, they have this huge cinema-style screen at one end with ample seating/table area for whence games or other things are shown. They also have a karaoke setup that's independent of this, with another reasonably large projection screen. The Oscar 'party' was very lame. I was under the impression that they were hosting Oscar night and people would know about it and show up. Apparently it was just Matt L. and I who showed up and we had to ask them to play the Oscars on the big screen. It was unfortunate that they had to cut the sound after an hour and a half, when more people aggregated and demands for music and karaoke rose. I suppose it's not their fault since it wasn't really an "Oscar Party". I'm still looking for a place in Edmonton where people who enjoy watching the Oscars meet up for a drink and watch it on a big screen. Perhaps next year, we can have a UYE at Rosario's to have a critical mass sufficient to ensure Oscars getting all the attention. However, all Oscar things aside, it's a great space and I look forward to showing up again some day! Oh... also, the food was great. Absolutely horrendous service. I've been here a couple of times with large parties and each time the waitresses basically ignored our tables, only stopping by maybe once or twice the entire time we were there. They were quick to grab our empties, but didn't offer to take our drink orders. The amount of money they could of made off of parties our size... and yet we were ignored in lieu of serving the regulars. The karaoke here is the only reason worth coming. They've got a huge book of songs to choose from and a couple of mics for all your duet singing needs. That being said, the queue to sing can be quite long and it takes ages for your song to come up. Last time I was there the DJ was on a power trip and decided to not play the songs my group was requesting because "it wasn't fair to the other people who were singing alone". Umm? Although I don't sing karaoke EVER, I've been to Rosario's a couple of times now. Before I'd been, I was under the impression that this place was kind of a dive, but it's not all that bad! For one, the space is huge, way bigger than I expected it to be. The bar is in the middle and there are tables and booths all around. It seems like there are quite a few TVs around. There's one huge screen by the DJ for the person singing to read off of, and they also show the words on a few of the smaller TVs for people to follow along with. Otherwise they're generally playing sports. Like I said, I don't sing karaoke, but I'll peruse through the book of songs. In Rosario's case, the list is quite long and it seems like there is a lot to choose from. Both times I've been here I've been pretty impressed with the quality of the people singing! Of course you always get that one really drunk guy or gal mumbling through the whole song, but I think a lot of the people here are regulars who actually enjoy singing. Drink prices are cheap - average. My husband had a burger here once since he was starving and didn't have time to eat before we got there. The bun looked like the buns at DQ. He said it was just totally average and meh. Service is ok, kind of hit or miss, nothing special or terrible. I like the place! read more

We used to go to Rosario's on a weekly basis, it was in our 'hood and the manager at the time knew us by name. We mostly went for the wings and the pint specials that were on during happy hour. We had stopped going because the service was always hit and miss. The bar took away all of the specials on the food menu, and the quality of the food went downhill fast. Who wants to pay $11 for 12 wings that have been fried so long that there is nothing left to them? Just for nostalgia's sake, we thought we would go back and give it another try. We heard that the management had changed. The place was empty with the exception of a group of pool players. Go to Rosario's for Karaoke and pool. They have a decent selection of brews on tap. Rosario's is popular on the weekend for it's Karaoke "bible". There are a lot of songs to choose from and it is usually a fun night out with friends. Due to the popularity though, you will usually only get a few chances to sing. The queue can get quite long with the weekend regulars. Don't go to Rosario's for the food. It is average pub food at best, with above average pricing. You just don't get the same quality that you would be paying for at a similar pub. The menus have not been re-printed or changed in years. They used white-out to cover up the old prices and the new prices are hand written. There were 7 of us. The kitchen managed to mess up 3 of the seven meals: The patties on the burger were of the frozen variety. He asked for no condiments - he got all kinds! The Philly Cheese Steak was served lukewarm and he still got onions when he had asked for none. The solution offered was to microwave the sandwich and bring it back out. My guest just refused the sandwich and went home hungry. The "house made" lasagne I suspect was a frozen product as well because it was also served cold in the middle. Service was also an issue on this visit. Empty glasses and plates littered the table. Will I ever go back for the food? No. I have been disappointed too many times. Will we go back for Karaoke on the weekends? More than likely, yes. We will make sure we are properly fed before we go! read more

There are some really awesome singers that go to Rosario s.. some pretty awful ones too haha I haven't tried the food here so I can't really say what I think of it, but I have heard from a couple people that the food it pretty good. Terrible karaoke host!!! Unless your cute and spend all your time with the DJ inflating his ego, then your not going to be singing. A group of 6 of my friends were there, we ordered food and drinks and put up our song, half hour later 4 girls walk in walk up to the dj get there songs in and sing before any of us!!! They ordered water sang there songs and left !!! None of my friends and I until almost an hour later !!! Great place to go for a karaoke night with a group. Ok, so I am not a fan of karaoke..at all...but I went to Rasario's for a friend's birthday bash. The parking is not too great...and the location is a little off-putting...considering it is kinda hidden from any main drag with not much else around. The food looked ok, nothing fancy, just pub grub and pizza. The pub is big and has plenty of places to sit and at least 4 pool tables that I saw. The washrooms are not good. 2 stalls in the ladies room just does not suffice. My friend had a good time singing her heart out and the waitress only charged me for 1 pop even though I had 2, which was nice...but sadly I won't be back to visit anytime soon. Not for me. I love hanging out here after work and weekends, as I get to meet friendly people, play pool while waiting my turn to sing, and best of all, munch on some awesome pizza. I go about 3-4 times a week, its near my place so a great location for me to unwind and enjoy some good company. There are many different social circles there, from trades to retail to I.T. so its always something different to talk about. Everyone has fun, its a pleasant and not overly loud atmosphere whatsoever, which makes enjoying their food and Karaoke a pleasure. Pool is $1.25 per game, they have 7 bar style tables on the far side of the place, and they're in decent shape. Plenty of seating both in the sports side (where the pool tables and huge projector screen are), and the lounge side (where the Karaoke singers usually sing at). The bar is situated smack dab in the middle of the place, and has plenty of easy access bar chairs all around it. Plenty of screens located above and around the bar too. There are 3 projected screens, two of which are dedicated to showing two sports feeds, the third being used for the Karaoke singers. The sound system is very decent while not being too loud, as it projects sound approx 8-10' up, and over the entire place, and not downward. Very nice, its easy enough to have decent conversations without feeling like you're competing against a barrage of noise. There are 3 VLT terminals at the back of the sports side, a pinball game and shooting/hunter game near the washrooms corridor, and a modern music Tunes jukebox which can download new songs if required from its internet server. The Karaoke is the main reason why I visit, with over 13,000 songs to choose from and more added quite frequently, there's never a lack of material to attempt to sing. From my brief time there so far I've witnessed some AMAZING singers who should be laying down track, they're that good. Rosario's has a great reputation for attracting talented and humble singers, so its a pleasure just to hang out for a few hours to listen to them sing, even if there are the odd amateurs who butcher a few songs. :) Its so worth it. The staff are very friendly, albeit due to the constant influx of customers they can be a bit overwhelmed with taking orders, so do be patient. Food is served until at least midnight, and their menu is quite comprehensive for a sports bar venue such as this. I have to say, the Pizza is probably the BEST in Edmonton, and take it from me, I love food. As an I.T. guy who has worked at night, finding decent pizza in this city is damn annoying. It was truly a very satisfying experience to enjoy their pizza for the first time and be blown away by how good it was. Regarding drinks, I'm fairly certain they have a fair (great, even) selection of beer, wine, and hard liquor, but as I'm not a drinker I will only go by memory as to seeing a lot of different labels being used. We were here the other night and I was so impressed with the service, I just had to leave a review! Having a latex allergy, I have to ask about the type of glove used in the kitchen every time I go out. Our server (Nadia, according to the receipt) had no problem checking with the back and reporting back that they did, in fact, use latex gloves for food prep. She actually took the time to try to come up with something for me to eat that they didn't directly prep with gloves, but also listened attentively when I explained that I was very used to not being able to eat everywhere I go. She seemed to genuinely feel bad that I couldn't eat and checked in with me throughout the night. My husband had their chicken fingers and fries and and the portion looked pretty fabulous. For a karaoke bar, the sound system is mediocre at best, but it certainly doesn't seem to bother the patrons. When we left, the rotation of singers was over an hour long. read more

Over 20 minutes per drink order and after one am still waiting for service and its currently 1:30am.... Sure I could go to the bar and complain but I have bad anxiety and would rather sit here thirsty and waiting. Karaoke is great however so i will return in the future. Edit: last call came and went, nobody asked me if I wanted anything. Am I invisible? Not true but, anxiety gets the better of us right? Edit: Waitress super apologetic, some patrons harassed her at last call and some did not pay apparently, I have never served a day in my life so don't know the half of it, and my fault for not speaking up and getting a drink if I really wanted one, I guess. Travelled by cab from west Ed with a friend all the way to this bar because we heard nothing but good raves! Signed up for their karaoke and we were pretty much ignored by the people running the entertainment! It was very "clique" and if you were a regular you were put to the front of the list! While new members (looking for what could possibly be a potential regular spot) Are being bumped to the end! We came out to have a good time and trust me the service was excellent, the bartender was great! And the pub aspect was awesome! I understand that this is somewhat of a dive sports bar and clearly the menu reflects that, I didn't come here expecting a 5 course, fine dining meal. From a food service stance who ever runs this kitchen should be embarrassed. The food is basic pub fare, pizza, deep fried foods, a few pasta dishes etc. Every single time I've eaten here, all the ordered dishes come out at different times. I figured something must have gone wrong the first couple of times but this is a consistent issue. Tonight, a medium pizza, a BLT and potato skins were ordered to our table of 4, 2 of whom were sharing the pizza. BLT came out first. Okay. Thinking the rest was on its way. 17 minutes later... The pizza and POTATO SKINS (of all things) arrived. The potato skins were not made properly... An appetizer you deep fry, add toppings to and then throw in a salamander oven. Embarrassing. One of the first, most basic things you learn about cooking service is that all meals on an order come out together! Who ever runs the kitchen here should NOT be in charge of a kitchen. I went to this bar just last night, and it was scuzzy and VERY confrontational. I was expecting it to be packed when I got there, but there was only a few people, of what seemed to be regulars. Most karaoke songs were sang only by the regulars and far, few in between new comers. Most of the songs that were sang was screamo metal songs by all the regulars that seemed to be friends. It was hard to enjoy yourself with the DJ being kind of rude and not letting any other karaoke song request a half an hour early! It seemed like everyone was arrogant, with the attitude that if they don't know you, then you don't "belong". Not friendly at all. Also, the waitress took forever to come around to our table and it was to the point I had to go buy my own drinks. After I did so, THEN she decided to be of service to our table. At last call, they offered drinks and one of my friends ordered one last beer. We were having a good time, and it was taking her a little longer to finish and the security rushed us out of the bar telling us to hurry up. I won't be going there again. So, it was a pretty good atmosphere, kind of had that small pub feel in some ways where everyone was friendly. However. The service was so bad. The waitress forgot my drink on multiple occasions, to the point that it took over an hour to get one drink. She did offer to buy me another drink for her blunder, which was nice, but I was just really tired of the slow service. I talked to some people from other tables, and they were experiencing the same thing. I don't think the bar was that busy, I'm not really sure why it was as slow as it was. I also requested to sing a song, and I got forgotten by the DJ too :( There's some good pool tables, and darts, so things to do. Honestly, I went in with low expectations and came out happy. Yeah, karaoke is good here. Host is attentive and pretty cool to customers. Down to earth kinda guy. Service kind of sucked, but the place is packed. So really, gotta give some props to them still. Good vibe. Some good people to chat with. No one took themselves too seriously. We'll be back. I've been here maybe 3 times and never really had an issue but we came here for my bday this past Friday night (dec 20), it was about 10pm and there was a few people playing pool and one table of maybe about 10 people and then a few small tables. By no means "busy". We sat down at one the booths and waited for a server to come around. None came so I went to use the restroom and told my bf what to order me if she came around, upon my return still no service so my bf got up to use the restroom and upon his return STILL no service so ok not a major deal, I got up and went to the bar where there was a short dark haired woman and an older man behind the bar. I told her I would like a bud light and she dropped off the drinks she made for one of the servers and then proceeded to the other end of the bar and hugged and chatted with what I assume was a regular customer. I was pretty angry, after waiting 20 mins for a server and nothing then coming to the bar myself and instead of getting my drink you decide to go chit chat? When she eventually headed back to my end I expressed how annoyed I was and her response was "he was asking about the menu". Not impressed to say the least so we will definitely not be returning to this establishment. read more

I have to be honest I loved the karaoke and the food has improved.. however several of my friends won't be returning as the worry for their safety. 2 of their 3 times coming the had issues and noticed their was no bouncer there for them to ask for help. They did ask staff but the truth although the servers were good at their jobs, They were little help in matters of safety and security. Do understand I don't blame them at all.. after all its not a servers or bar tender,etc job to handle such situations. It's a bouncers job.. Even one bouncer can act as a deterrent for people causing issues and go a long way to making clients feel safer. I used to come here years ago and I just moved back close to Edmonton and I'm glad I came back to this sports / karaoke bar there was a warm and welcoming crowd for both the experienced and novice singer alike. There are more pool tables then I have seen in a bar before with friendly attentive staff. A big screen TV for every event possible all at the same time. Huge screen for karaoke with good sound as well. It was a Friday evening but I still got through the singing rotation more times then I would have expected. I ordered a thin crust pizza because I remembered them being great and it was again very tasty. Also it is a wheelchair friendly establishment. I will be coming back again in the evening and on Saturdays afrernoons from 1pm to 6p to bring my kids to sing. Just as I remembered it you did a great job. to the staff thank-you. read more
