Rosa's was honestly one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment we sat down, Marie and Rosa went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even started us off with some complimentary items, which was a really nice touch. Marie was super helpful with the menu and gave honest recommendations, which we ended up going with--and I'm glad we did. Everything was amazing. Rosa kept checking in on us throughout the meal with such a great attitude, and genuinely made us feel like family. You can tell she really cares about the experience, not just the food. The service was fast, the vibe was great, and we never felt forgotten or rushed once. And the food... easily a 10/10. You HAVE to try the queso birria and the churros. They even gave us a really warm and generous goodbye, which just topped everything off. I haven't experienced service like this in a long time. Creations of local artisans embrace the interior of the establishment, which are occasionally for sale. Price points are surprisingly affordable, considering this town is a prime tourism location. Our service was atrocious on a Saturday at 4pm. Our server forgot about us all night. We had to find him multiple times for missing items, incorrect items, and left us sitting for 30 minutes waiting to pay. On top of horrible service, our food was bland, unoriginal and flavorless. NOT worth the 20-30$ price tag per person. Out of all tap beers and could not offer any other options besides tequila. Went to Rosa's last Sunday. It had recently opened. I was immediately greeted and seated. I ordered the Shrimp Diablo and it was amazing. The entire staff was friendly and made sure we were happy. We decided to eat there. While the restaurant looks well kept the prices are ridiculous. We orderd ceviche. The small plate they call a tower cost $27.00 and to top it off we found a hair on one of the shrimps. They asked us if there was anything else we wanted instead so we orderd another plate. They still charged us for the ceviche although we didn't end up eating it and after they had taken the plate away. Also, we orderd a carne asada plate that was $27.00 as well. When the plate was served it was extremely skimpy. They served not even a 4oz flat steak one scoop of rice one scoop of beans. I'll take Señora Cantina's Restaurant in Big Bear over this place anyday. There not nearly as expensive, the food is Amazing and, they are not greedy with there servings. read more

My goodness what an experience! Food was good as well as service but the BATHROOMS!!! The moment I opened that bathroom door my eyes widened bigger than the Grand Canyon. Such detail and craftsmanship, you could really tell they knew what they were doing. Every toilet and urinal, so level and uniform! And the water pressure was amazing I will never forget that feeling while washing my hands. The plumbers must have a tattoo on their arm or something that says, "ADA COMPLIANT" because everything was beyond up to par. Gracias Rosa's, you gave me the courage to go number 2 outside of my house.and use other toilets besides my own. I'll definitely return! read more

Ok here we go again with yet another mediocre Mexican restaurant in Big Bear (like we don't have enough already), although the place is really nice and the service was great ,the food is well from my experience, u can just by frozen food that is just as good or better, we ordered the two chili rellenos and the two chicken enchiladas and the rice (which I've never had from any Mexican place) was mushy and the beans were pretty horrible. And they gave about a lg tablespoon of each( cause u know how expensive those products can be, not) the rellenos I think are some restaurant supply pre made and the enchiladas were not mentionable either. Anyway if u like nice atmosphere and friendly servers and mediocre food this is your spot read more

We have eaten at nearly every Mexican restaurant in Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City, and this is the one we'll go back to again. We loved the ambiance, the welcoming attitude, the attendant server, the margaritas, and the fajitas! We opted for the triple: beef, chicken, and shrimp, all cooked perfectly. It was served with chunky guacamole, sour cream, and a curtido (?). The rice was fluffy and flavorful, the beans were smothered in cheese. We loved the two fresh salsas that were served with crisp tortilla chips, and perfectly started our meal. We are looking forward to going back to try more of the menu at Rosa's. Also, next time we'll bring our dog and sit on the patio. Bonus! read more

What we received was not as described, and overall felt very non-authentic. On top of that, the service was poor and didn't make up for any of it. The food is as good as the decor! We tried Rosa's after patiently waiting for their opening and it was well worth it! The interior is well designed and welcoming. We started with the street corn (off the cob) and chips. It was a great starter that was full of flavors and came out hot. We had the garlic shrimp dish and carne asada soft taco plate, which were both tasty and filling. Other places have scaled back on the amount of meat in their tacos, but not Rosas. The meat was soft and full of flavors. We also tried the birria and chicharrones that were light and not greasy at all. Paired with the green salsa created an explosion of flavors in my mouth. Dinner was topped off with cold Modelos on draft and tasty Margaritas. Our server was Mario and he was spot on! The owners (Arturo and Rosa) will immediately make you feel welcomed and at home. The outdoor patio was perfect, but then we moved into the nicely decorated interior. This place is a mandatory stop in Big Bear if you love classic Mexican food. You won't be disappointed. read more

It's alright, it's not bad it has a lot of potential. Most dishes my party of 9 ordered required salt & pepper, they were not flavorful. Alot of the plates were very bland. Two weeks ago, my husband discovered this newly opened restaurant in Big Bear. We dined there yesterday, and the experience was so exceptional that we are returning again today before heading home. The space itself is stunning. From the music and décor to the tables, seating, bathrooms, and bar, every detail has been thoughtfully curated. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated with exquisite taste--modern, chic, and vibrant--creating an inviting ambiance. The service is truly outstanding: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm throughout our visit. The food exceeded expectations. On our first visit, we enjoyed the quesadilla birria, taco salad, chile Colorado, and chile relleno&taco. The rice and beans were an unexpected highlight--far from ordinary and exceptionally flavorful. Every dish was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully executed. We were too satisfied to try dessert, which gave us the perfect excuse to return the following day. On our second visit, we ordered the 7 mares soup, ceviche, tacos de papa, and churros. Once again, every dish was excellent. If I had one minor note, it would be that the siete mares soup could use a few more scallops to make it absolutely perfect--I received just one, though it was delicious. That said, the ceviche was the standout for me: vibrant, fresh, and impeccably prepared. While the pricing is higher than that of a typical Mexican restaurant, this is not a typical Mexican dining experience. For those who appreciate elevated cuisine this restaurant is absolutely worth it. Five stars across the board. read more
