It was a very busy weekend at Big Bear. My lady and I found Rosa's was one of the only nicer places that wasn't booked out for the weekend. And it was Mexican like I, so I was excited! Upon our arrival, we were greeted after waiting about 10 minutes, and sat after waiting another 10 (this was expected.) We were very pleased to be sat so quickly considering the crowd with the rodeo being in town alongside labor day. As soon as we walked in, we noticed a very frantic vibe from the staff. Although the restaurant's decorations were quite nice. We started our meal with complimentary chips and salsa. Considering it was free I can't critique too much, but the salsas were bland at best. We then received our Cucumber Lime margarita, which exceeded our expectations. Very delicious and refreshing, unfortunately that's where the positives end. We received the Chicharrones with green sauce as our appetizer, with the way it was described we expected fresh food, but they tasted fresh out of the bag. We ordered the Chile Relleno with the cheese enchilada. I have never truly been disappointed by a meal. What was placed in front of us was a pile of sauce and cheese. We primarily thought we received the wrong order, to which the manager said the food was "under the sauce." We stuck our fork under the sauce and found a flat excuse of a Chile Relleno. The flavor was seriously lacking, and was filled ONLY with cheese. The outer "crust" was very soggy and bland. It was barely different from the Enchilada that was buried right next to it. The only difference between the two was the color of the green poblano pepper... not the flavor. If you are a cheese lover, then you will love the insane amount of cheese in every bite. And the beans were cold. I wish I had more positive things to say about one of the only Mexican spots in the village at Big Bear, but if you are looking for a palatable meal, with true Mexican flavors, then look elsewhere.

Rosa's is the place to go in Big Bear for great Mexican food! Our family goes back many generations as Arizona natives, and if you know anything about AZ you know they have amazing Mexican food. So, when we came to Big Bear we were unsure where to go to get our fix. We heard from several locals that Rosa's was the place and it did not disappoint. We made a reservation to celebrate my dad's birthday and from the minute we arrived they celebrated us. Our table was ready, we were greeted by all the staff with friendly smiles and everyone was extremely helpful and vibrant. We sat on the patio and our waiter got us food and drink quickly and efficiently (we had limited time with two hungry toddlers). The chips and salsa were great and we gobbled up way too many. We ordered garlic shrimp, steak fajitas, beans and cheese burrito, and the taco plate and all were picture perfect as well as delicious! The beans were on point and the fajitas could have fed the entire table! At the end of our meal they brought out a giant sombrero and churros for the birthday boy along with a jolly happy birthday song; it was a happy celebration! Our service and food were wonderful. The restaurant is lively, comfortable, and pleasant to dine in. The menu has great Mexican dishes as well as seafood that has generous portions. It's on the expensive side of dining, but I suppose everything is nowadays. Rosa's satisfied our Mexican food cravings and gave us a fantastic birthday celebration. This will be our go to place from here on out!

The restaurant is beautiful! Right in the center of the village with a really modern feel. The inside is super nice, and the bar is gorgeous with all the bottles displayed. The service was great too. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was a little disappointing though. The chips were warm and fresh, and the salsa was your typical restaurant salsa. We ordered the molcajete, and I'd give it a 5/10. The chicken was really thin and rubbery, the steak was sliced super thin, only three pieces of shrimp and overall a smaller portion for two compared to this dish other places. There wasn't much sauce in the molcajete to enjoy with the meat and the rice and beans portions were also pretty small. I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup. It didn't have the traditional tortilla soup flavor I was expecting, and instead of shredded chicken it had large pieces that were chewy and overcooked. I ended up not eating the chicken and hardly eating the soup. I really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is great and in a prime location but the food just didn't live up to it. I'd probably come back for drinks, but I'd try something different if I came back for food.

New Gem in Big Bear village! The service was exceptional! Thank you so much Sophia for being so sweet and attentive! The food was delicious! The churros were a must at the end for the "I need something sweet". Beautiful atmosphere!

This appears to be a rather new business in the village. They specialize in Mexican food and seafood. We stopped in for dinner and we're glad that we did. My wife and I split an order of beef fajitas. The fajitas arrived, sizzling on a hot platter, accompanied by a plate that had beans and rice and another plate that had a little bit of cabbage, sour cream, and guacamole. We also got corn tortillas. The meal came with three corn tortillas. They were a little bit bigger than normal tortillas than I get at other Mexican food restaurants and maybe that's why I only got three normally we get four with a fajita order. But I'm sure it was probably about the same size. The fajitas were outstanding. There was an excellent mixture of beef, bell peppers, onions, and outstanding seasoning. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The beans were also excellent. The rice was not the traditional looking Spanish rice. It was white and had peas and carrots in it. I loved it! Before your meal, they deliver a complementary basket of chips and a red and green salsa. Both were outstanding. Our server was excellent. He was very attentive. We were checked on three different times during our meal by someone who we think may have been the owner. She didn't introduce herself, but she didn't wanna make sure that we were enjoying our meal and wanting to make sure our experience was great. It's great to see such care from an owner or manager. The place was humming and the employees were doing a great job. A small band was setting up. It looks like they have live music at certain times. They also have a nice looking little patio out to the back. If you want try a nice Mexican food restaurant while you're in the big Bear Village give Rosa stop by.

WOW.....didn't think we needed another restaurant in the village but oh yeah, boy did we need this. They brought all the taste and service from Azteca and somehow made it even better. Could not be happier. Of course, they still support live music. And events are super fun there, we should know....have celebrated 3 birthdays there in last few weeks. WONDERFUL in every way

Blown away that this place has so many good reviews. Not traditional Mexican food at all and everything was absolutely flavorless. Even the ranch dressing had no flavor. My dad had a fajita burrito and he said it was awful. And my salad was like a scavenger hunt search for flavor. The presentation of the food was good. It appeared appetizing and the service was great other than that it was all disappointing.

The staff is super nice and the place is new, very open, and clean. Everyone was so welcoming and seemed happy to be there. We really wanted to like this place because Big Bear is full of not so great tourist food. The food was pretty bland unless you put the salsas on it. The carne asada I got was so pale in color, thinly sliced, and lacked any flavor. The churros were very good and had a yummy gooey center.

While in Big Bear for the week we decided to come here for lunch. It was delicious. Service was excellent and nicely decorated. For starters we got the guacamole- which was excellent and then the very delicious I had the house margarita on the rocks very tasty and my daughter in law got the mango Margarita actually very good as well. Hubby ordered the shrimp on a stone- super delicious . My daughter and I ordered the crunchy taco steak and enchiladas. I favor just cheese and this one was very tasty. My son got the quesabuerriea very good as well and his wife got the fajita plate she said it was very good as well. Overall this was a very good place and I highly recommend going if you are in Big Bear lake.

I am so glad that 'the other place' didn't have a table for our group, because we walked up the street and came upon this gorgeous, spacious, newly opened restaurant: Rosa's! It is beautiful inside; once you step in, you forget you are in the mountains. The ambience and decor feel like chic LA or Newport Beach. The art pops from the walls, the ceilings are high, the furniture is on point, and the place is a gem! The staff are so warm, friendly, and fast moving; that makes you feel well tended to. The complementary chips and salsa are a fantastic entry point to the culinary experience. We had the pleasure of meeting Rosa herself; this restaurant is one of her greatest achievements; her personal passion and joy are reflected throughout the place - and in the delicious food! All of our party loved our dishes. I'd gladly go back to Rosa's for lunch or dinner! You should try it- you won't be disappointed!

Stopped in for lunch at Rosa's Mexican Restaurant, and I was seriously impressed. They're only two weeks old, but they already have everything dialed in. I was greeted immediately and seated within seconds, which set a great first impression. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive the entire time, making sure we had everything we needed. The food tasted amazing--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you're craving Mexican food. Overall, I was really happy with the experience and will definitely be coming back. Excited to have a spot like this around!

The green salsa is life! The service was incredible and the building and ambiance were gorgeous. The chips and green salsa and the quesabirra were delicious I would happily just eat them. The main courses were good but the salsa and quesabirra were the stars for me. The staff were all so incredibly friendly and on top of everything.

Idk where to even start with this 5 star review!!! Beautiful interior! Very well done all the way across! Service was impeccable! Being greeted by the owner herself at the Host stand and then being taken care of by Guadalupe our server. Top notch service and setting the experience for the rest of the evening! Im a huge foodie and we ordered multiple things cause we wanted to try as much as we could! The Chips and Salsa were hot and fresh! The Chile Verde plate was one of the best I've ever had! The Mole was chefs kiss!!! The Rice and Beans! So much love goes into making food like this and it shows and you can taste it! This easily goes down for me as one of the best restaurants I've ever been too. Since were here visiting we might just make it a 2nd time before we head back home!

For the family I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga, cheese quesadilla, and 3 shredded beef taco combo; it was all delicious! Normally Mexican food especially delivered via DoorDash isn't always as pleasing to the eyes as it is the stomach, but this place does or right! Each plate was still hot and beautifully plated, I'm sure in person it's even lovelier. I asked for a receipt, but the cashier said she accidentally pressed "no receipt," so I didn't get one. The picture I took from their copy shows the total -- $32.97 plus $2.56 tax should've been $35.53, but I was charged $36.77. It's only a few dollars difference, but it feels dishonest. Overall, I don't appreciate being overcharged. If you go here, make sure to get a receipt. I won't be coming back.
