Chicken taco and carne asada taco
    Cary N.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very open; indoor and outdoor dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of tv to watch sports.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was good; seems like a lot of locals like to go there as well. The tacos were good. Ordered a chicken and carne Asada taco; very reasonably priced. The cocktails are well made too. I only wish the red salsa had more heat to it. It was very mild for me.

We stopped by for lunch and it was great! It wasn't during a busy time so we were seated right away. Service was great and it was nice and warm inside. Perfect on a chilly day. They had great margaritas and food! I recommend their carne asada and chicken tacos! I also liked the elote appetizer. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Carlos, the bartender and sometimes server is very knowledgeable and friendly. This is a great place for Happy Hour. They have $5 20 oz drafts of Bodega beer and $2 off all appetizers. I had a few apps and all were great

    Mulita carne asada

Definitely come eat here!!! We sat at the bar and the lovely lady working the bar was so friendly; both staff we encountered were. I really enjoyed the T-Paige marg and the chamoy was so good I bought some to go. The mulita hit the spot and I'd recommend it to everyone. We split the carne asada mulita and each got a fish taco and that filled us up. I would definitely come back here. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the fish taco didn't have much flavor so I probs wouldn't order it again but it was cooked well!

Great little hole in the wall! Friendly staff and good food. Loved sitting on the heated patio listening to live music. Topped off the evening with an ice cream float with Jarritos Mandarin. OUTSTANDING!

Walked by this place late and saw the sign which advertises their amazing margaritas. The restaurant was closed but I knew I had to try it the next day. Stoped in mid day on a Saturday. We were immediately greeted by Rick. It was a bit busy but not so busy that we couldn't be seated. Soon after we received our fresh chips and salsa along with the menu. The place itself is very aesthetic. The decore is nice with a Hispanic flair. There are lottoria pics along the left wall and pretty cool looking beer tap made from a paleta cart. The roll up front door makes the inside nice and fresh. On to the menu. They have the usual variety of Mexican option and hot wings..LOL. So, we went with chicken enchiladas, an asada burrito and a couple tacos. Many would say Mexican is Mexican. I beg to differ. The green sauce was tasty, the beans were good and the rice fluffy. The burrito and tacos were above average with tender asada meat. Now on to the salsas. Salsas can make or brake any restaurant. The sauce on the green enchiladas was very good. The salsa provided with the chips was mild and could use a little more flavor. But, the salsa provided with the burrito had an amazing roasted flavor. AND then I asked for their spicy salsa. I was provided with a magnificent off the menu habanero salsa which will kick your but. This place is not just good it's very good. The decor, the friendly service and Rick making sure everything you have is good. Oh ya, the micheladas are also great. Thanks, I look forward to going back. Salud !

Food and service done right. The colorful, eclectic wall decor gave this place a unique upscale ambiance in comparison to those hole-in-the-wall mom and pop shops down the mountain. Food was cooked fairly perfected with full of flavor. Surprised the chicken was tender, flavorful and moist in the fajitas trio. Fajitas overall done right. The birria tacos was exceptional and I can literally drink up all the consome after coating the birria tacos in it. I was taken back a bit with some skeptism about their note on charging for a 2nd round of chips. However, Rick (I believe), our server was great. He didn't charge for the 2nd basket of chips for our semi-large party of 8. He was communitative of how long our food entries will be. For what I could have docked a star or two for one of our kids plate coming out late compared to everyone elses' plate served, he wrote it off (removed it) from our bill without us asking. I appreciate the generousity and service from Muchachos. Definitely give them a try.

1/3/25, around 4-5pm. I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. Margarita is ok. Food: We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and chicken tenders and fries. The tacos were incredibly bland. At first glance, the food lacked color and did not look very appetizing. The taste itself did not serve it any justice either. Regarding the chicken tenders, they were thin and tasted like crap that came from their restrooms. The only good thing that came out of this place was their fries, and trust me when i say this, the fries did not taste that good either. Service: The waiters were so dismissive. When we asked for the napkins, they handed us a roll of paper towel, not even putting it on the rack. When we asked for straws, she (the waitress) was taking her time before getting to us, making us as customers, feel like a low priority in comparison to the people sitting at the bar. We waited for a long time for our food to come out, hence the expectation that the food that was prepared would taste decent or excellent, but our expectations of the food proved to be a disappointment. I would like to add that we were forced to tip for their "customer service", paying $11 for something that was not even there. We were mad, and still hungry since the portion was so small and tasteless. I would advise better cooks, better waitress and service, or maybe even market yourselves as just a bar rather than serving food. This place did a disservice to everyone that ate there. The Jack in the Box we had afterwards tasted much better than the food here.

The Birria Ramen and beer special for $20 was delicious. A bit expensive and not much broth with the soup. The chips were ok, but I liked the salsa. The picture posted is not the one I got to go, but a friend ordered it the day before.

We took advantage of happy hour and ordered the margaritas, which were delicious and a great value. We also happened to visit on Quesabirria Wednesday, and the birria was excellent. My only complaint is the regular drink pricing once happy hour ends. While I understand they're located in the Village and prices tend to be higher in that area, $19 for a margarita felt a bit steep. Because of that, we ended up leaving when happy hour ended. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the service, food, happy hour specials, and game-day atmosphere--just be prepared for higher drink prices outside of happy hour.

The margaritas were good and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would definitely recommend this place.

Highly respected in this community for their dedication to helping families in need. I try to support their willingness to always offer Monday afternoon fundraisers for families in need. Although, I seldom attend these fundraisers, I purchase, at least, a thousand dollars in gift certificates when I first return from Rancho Mirage, which to distribute to hard working locals so they can enjoy this respecter a hard day's work. My husband loves the fajitas and beef, pork and chicken enchiladas. As a vegetarian, not too many options, but Don Jose, the friendly chef in the valley, prepares excellent vegetable tacos for me! One of the greatest places to celebrate with large groups. Seating indoors and outdoors. Great family I have ever met, including my forty years in education as a highly honored teacher, counselor, and school administrator, working, for the most part, with first and second generation immigrant families. Carlos will always be one of favorite waiters in the Big Bear Valley. Great father, loyal employee who will make your dining experience enjoy! Sonora Cantina is the place to dine is your want a festive environment. There have been challenges in the Big Bear economy, but new media groups are emerging which is showing immense potential. This community needs to never forget the effort that the Rojas have put into building the Big Bear Blvd. business area. The multi talented, Theodore Trentman, owner of Big Bear Television, along with the three cohosts, will, I am certain, give this business the honor they deserve. Love The Village's restaurants and businesses, but the focus needs to extend east and direct future growth and advertising to the hardest working, kindest family in Big Bear! Of course, Taco Tuesday is a no brainer, as so affordable, even for those on limited incomes. However, every day should be so inviting.

Patty greeted us when we came in the door and said we could sit wherever we wanted. She was lovely, very attentive and helpful. Her sister owns the place. She even gave us scads of recommendations for other local places to try and things to do. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan with a side house salad while I got the scallop fettuccine dish and splurged the $3 extra to get their Caesar salad (totally worth it, made in house). Everything is made to order and each dinner came with a board of homemade bread and house made butter for the table. Folks. That bread. Was So Good. Soft and tasty and the parmesan, garlic, parsley butter melted right on it. There was something that didn't hit my palate right on my dish, so Patty offered to get me something else. I decided against that (because the scallops themselves were stellar) but I agreed to some extra Alfredo sauce to mellow out the flavors in the pasta, which worked great! When she learned it was our anniversary, Patty gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house the likes of which I have never tasted before. I don't order cheesecake often, but this was beautifully creamy and sweet. If you want to support local businesses, I highly recommend Jakobe's. They're good people who cook great food and care about their community. SUPPORT LOCAL! DON'T LET THE CHAINS WIN!
