So so good. We love Gaby's Latin Flavors. Gaby and Mo are so sweet and kind. The food is amazing. Food made and served with Aloha.

Costilla al horno. Awesome salad, amazing pork, great sauce.

Food, ambiance, feel, what's not to love? Definitely a wait for amazing home cooking so make sure you like the people you go with. I would wait happily any time I go back if it's always this good. My favorite was the chorrellana. The beans, rice, meat, onions, everything. Absolutely perfect. My husband really liked his costillas al horno, and our mom liked her carne asada wrap. Everything was delicious! We also had the agua fresco of the day which will be another staple to our order. Last but certainly not least was the churros. Dang, so crispy, warming, and delicious. Everything fresh and made with love. Can't wait to come back.

Soup of the day: chicken and pasta

Posting WiFi here because I had to wait so long to get it. Hoping to make it easier for everyone else. Wifi name is Gabys Guest Password is Gabys2024 We ordered and split the soup of the day, which was chicken soup with pasta and the Picante de Pollo. The soup was great for a cold winter day and was great, with plenty of parsley and a big chunk of corn. The picante de pollo was under the Bolivian section of the menu and came with mac and cheese and rice, which seemed mixed either with quinoa or another type of grain. It wasn't picante at all and as good as the dish looked, it was a bit bland. The chicken was really tender though and all dark meat, which we flavored up with the hot sauce we requested and the salsa it came with. The matron was definitely the mama of the house and you could tell she wasn't going to take shit though she didn't have the best bedside manner herself. There were indicators of the place's personality with signs like "No Drama Zone, leave the drama at the door" and "No substitutions, Bolivian mama serves it how it is." Interesting Bolivian place. We would come back again for the soup.

Glad my friend let's try this place. Big parking lot in the back so plenty of parking. Staff was super friendly. We went when there was a big party so took a little bit to order and wait for our food. However it was cooked to order. I got the salmon which comes with their avocado salad & asparagus. It was tasty. Especially if you some of their salsa which is really good. Both of them. They brought it out with my friends' tacos which they also both enjoyed. 1 had crunchy & 1 had soft. The aqua Fresca was also very good. We also tried saltenas but we haven't eaten it yet.

Fantastic flavors here! We loved everything we ordered which included the incredible avocado salad. Scoop some avocado salad with a chip and drop some of the spicy salsa on it and it's heaven. The spicy margarita amazing, so flavorful, and you didn't have to search for the heat! We're going back tomorrow for breakfast. FYI, you order at the front next to the bar. Get your own water and find a table.

When we heard that there was a restaurant in Big Bear with Bolivian food, we knew we had to check it out. On our way out of town, we called to see if they sold salteñas. They are made to order so we placed an order and picked them up later in the day. They were authentic and delicious! We can't wait to come back and enjoy a sit down meal there.

Amazing Chile Relleno & Soft Chicken Taco

We did not know what to expect eating here but the food was absolutely fresh and delicious. The food is Bolivian with a twist of Mexican and other latin flavors. I had the chile relleno which was the best I've had since they are usually made with egg and this one did not have egg. The creamy cheesy sauce on top was delightful. My family raved about the enchiladas, steak and chicken tacos. We will definitely visit Gaby's again. Agua Frescas and Mexican Coke are available. Note: order at the counter then find a table. Cash is preferred otherwise a 2.75% is added for credit cards. Provecho!

The had a variety of items in their menu. Mexican/Bolivian. The drinks were fun too. The staff are friendly. You order by the cashier and they bring the food. Self serve water. You pay at the cashier. Was a cute little spot. Their avocado salad was amazing. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the ribs. Just had a flavor I could not understand. However everything else was great.

Stopped by for dinner and everything was SO yummy!!! Never tried Bolivian food before and we were so happy we did. The drink I had was so spiced and sweet with a dried peach! Even and flavors of the beans and rice were a great too! Kids loved it Chips were so fresh and salsas were amazing!!

Beautiful plates too!

We were so pleased to find this hidden gem! Owner couldn't be nicer as our server and the food couldn't have tasted better. Great music in the background, amazing smells coming from the kitchen. We had the avocado salad. Amazing take on guacamole for the perfect chips and salsa to accompany them! We will be recommending this one to all of our friends and air b n b guests!

Ask the Community - Gaby's Latin Flavors

Does Gaby's take credit cards?

Yes they do

Are dogs allowed on outside patio?

I've seen dogs there, yes.

Does this restaurant take reservations?

No, its first come first serve.

Is there indoor dining? If no, are there heat lamps outdoor?

Heaters outside. BTW: She says indoor dining will be coming back this weekend.

Do they use real fruit in their Margaritas?

Don't know but they are really good. And ask for her special butter it's so creamy

Are the posted business hours accurate? Went Monday before 9pm and they were closed. Google and Yelp said they were open.

Sounds like you were cutting it close to closing time in a small town. Sometimes when business is slow the shops in town close early. It's always best to call ahead in a small town like Big Bear.

Any vegan options?

They had a very tasty veggie burrito, if I remember right you had to ask for them to leave off the cheese. But there were options.

The apple cranberry salad was excellent and tasted very fresh. The steak was very tender, and the herb crusted salmon with pilau rice was solid as well. The ambience was lively without being overwhelming, and the beautiful elaborate glass dome really makes the space feel special. Service was great throughout the evening. Attentive, warm, and present without being pushy or constantly interrupting the meal. Overall, a very good dinner and a spot I'd happily come back to when in Big Bear Lake.

This restaurant is inside Chateau Big Bear and features a 57-foot ornate Tiffany dome. On this evening, my family and I got to see pianist Mike Cross perform blues music along with a drummer and bassist. Mike was very friendly, and we got to exchange greetings after the show. We got the chicken marsala, spaghetti bolognese, and Caesar salad with chicken. The chicken marsala came as a big portion with a lot of mashed potatoes along with steamed carrots and charred broccoli. It was delicious with the rich and savory marsala wine sauce. Also, I never realized that charred broccoli can be so tasty. Service was a little spotty as it took long to flag a server for drink refills. Otherwise, this was overall an enjoyably memorable dining experience with my family.

Where do I start?? Got there about 8pm, found 2 seats at the bar with great seating options…read morescattered throughout the dining area. Being my first time I like to gauge the staff/table ratio ti get an idea on wait time for service. While waiting for my friend, I noticed a large table off to the side having drinks and playing a card game. I was impressed seeing that they were consistently getting rounded on by their server. Finding out this was a family run small business made this even more impressive as it was a full house. Additionally, it felt like the entire bar was excitedly watching the FIFA game, which was surprising because the difference in noise level from the outside of the building was significant. From the bar perspective, the bartenders were so kind (A), provided short/sweet conversation and excellent recommendations (A+), AND gave us time to look over the menu without being pushy (A++). I tried the lavender buzz and the oso espresso martini, my girlfriend had a lavender lemonade seltzer both being DELICIOUS. We Comfortable chairs, bathrooms and business were clean, and water is available at any time by the door with a self serve station. Overall, great spot, amazing staff, great variety of beers and seltzers, the pizzas are killer, the nachos were perfect, cocktails were a hit, great space for watching a game or hosting a group apparently, and even better for a date night! Stoked to have a place like The Bear Trap in Big Bear. Already planning our next trip.
