1 star for service and ambience and 5 stars for food. The food here is always great and worth the price. The service, however, is awful. When you place your order, you need to know exactly what you want. If you ask a question, make sure it's a good one, otherwise you'll be told to please be ready when you order. If only the food came out as fast as the front desk lady expects you to order. My take is the lady taking order's are probably being paid minimum wage while handling the work of two or three people. They have three cooks in the back, so they get a lot of orders, but they don't want to hire more help and the front staff takes it out on the customers. Expect to wait around 30 minutes for your food. The ambiance feels exclusively Peruvian. I say that because when you walk in, the guests and even the cooks on their lunch break will stare. You can usually tell who's not Peruvian because they're not staring. It's best to order takeout. That said, there's a reason people keep coming back despite the horrible service. The food is just that good. They might mess up your order on very rare occasions, and if that happens, you're honestly better off not saying anything. They'll likely get offended instead of fixing it, unless you really stand your ground. read more

We went in sat down a the very nice lady gave us the menu, it was two different ones, we order the fish ceviche, lomo, and pollo brasa. It took about 10-15 mins for the food to arrive. The lady gave us multiple bottles of different sauces, I liked the green sauce very spicy but the spice didn't overcome the flavor. The roast chicken was good, maybe I'm just fat but I was expecting one that one piece of chicken, the rice was great but I wish they salted the fries a bit more. The lomo was very good, and the tomatoes with it too. The ceviche was fresh and not too fishy. Great place I rate it 7 out of 10. read more

The WORST Peruvian food I've ever had. This is not authentic at all. Not to mention the service is awful, we just left the restaurant and left our entire meals whole. We ordered the papa a la huancaina, choros a la chalaca, tallarines saltado and arroz con mariscos. The food all took over 30 minutes to arrive and there was only 2 other groups in the restaurant. We received our entres before the appetizers, the papa a la huancaina didn't taste anything like huancaina. The choros was literally a Mexican ceviche with pieces of mussel chopped into them. The arroz con mariscos was flavorless and the only thing that was somewhat ok was the tallarines saltados but definitely not authentic at all. They were blasting reggaeton you couldn't even have a conversation. Never coming back here and definitely do not recommend. read more

The wife and I tried to go to the Salvadorian restaurant next door but being Labor day they were closed. The atmosphere was a little awkward at first. We were standing in the middle of the restaurant looking at the large pictures of the food on there left wall to figure out what to order. After some time passes, a waitress comes and brings us menu's and seats us. After doing some Googling of what the menu entailed we decided on a spaghetti dish, (I forgot the name of both sorry) and a Yukon potato dish with yellow sauce which was tasty. Twenty minutes passes by and the waitress tries to communicate with us that they were out of the spaghetti dish so we ordered Pruvian fried rice which was a little heavy on the oil and tasted like day old rice. All in all its a local place that sells Pruvian food so keep doing your thing. Tips: Ask for the menu with pictures of the food! They don't speak English, but if you speak Spanish it's a plus! Was craving some Lomo Saltado so of course yelped it. 2 places caught my eye but the pictures at Rosa's looked better. Walked in, the place was empty with a loud TV on in Spanish. A woman walked out from the back and offered 2 menus. She could not speak English so good thing I took 4 years of Spanish in high school. We saw the huge sign outside about the all day lunch specials for $8 so we were happy to try something new for a good price. I got the Lomo Saltado and the Tallarin Saltado because both were dishes I loved at Mario's Peruvian down in LA. We got an Inca Kola and waited. The food came out and... it was FREAKING SALTY. Both literally tasted like soy sauce was poured on top. Lacked meat and the flavor was not there. I expected more from the reviews and pictures.. On top of it all, when she calculated the total, she wanted to charge $10 for each dish and $2 for the Inca Kola. Uh no. Just because we don't speak Spanish well does not mean you can take advantage of us- so I asked her about the lunch special price. She called out for the other lady in the back and she explained to us we did not specify that we wanted the lunch special. uhm no. We could barely communicate with her........ so I just pointed to the dishes. There was no section on the menu that said lunch special..... it was only on the poster outside. But whatever, I just paid and decided that I would not come again. If you go..... go with someone who speaks Spanish or make it damn clear that you want the lunch special. Still does not make any sense to me. If the food was good I might go anyway but it was maybe 10% of how good Mario's is on Melrose in LA (no exaggeration). The food is fantastic. My wife and I had the ceviche maricos, tallarin with chicken and chicken saltado (not on the menu but same as the beef dishes replaced with chicken). It is a little hard to communicate in English but they are very friendly and helpful. We had a group of eight seniors and all had a great time. Fyi, I'm not a pro. I'm a regular guy who loves to eat. I started yelping so I could help others find delicious places to eat. There is finally a second Peruvian restaurant in town! There was actually a Peruvian restaurant at this location years ago, but unfortunately they didn't make it. I have hope for this place! I'll start off with the food! To me the food is always the most important, and this place has AMAZING food. Remember, Peruvian cuisine is pretty much the pinnacle of all cuisine in the Americas and this place reflects that. We ordered the Tallarin Verde (spaghetti in green sauce) with Carne Asada and Papa a la Huancaina (potatoes in a yellow sauce) and the traditional Lomo Saltado. The Lomo Saltado was exploding with flavor. The beef was marinated deliciously and cooked just right. The potatoes mixed so well with the onion and the tomatoes. My favorite, the white steamed rice, was perfect. Peruvians have a way of making steamed rice taste better than any other rice. The one issue I had with the Lomo was the meat to veggie ratio. I just wish they had a bit more meat. An ounce more would've probably been perfect. The portion wasn't large but definitely filling and only $10! This beats out pricing at the Mi Peru by a mile! The spaghetti in green sauce was great as well. The meat was the same as the Lomo Saltado and was perfect. The noodles were cooked just right and the green sauce gave it all the flavor it needed. I added some of their red salsa and it was perfectly spicy. Just the kick it needed. The only issue I had was the Papa a la Huancaina. The sauce was not as spicy as I'm used to it being and it needed to be a bit warmer. This dish was also $10!! Both dishes were extremely fresh. This restaurant isn't the fanciest, but the food belongs in the best restaurants in town. The pricing is very reasonable. Most dishes are a flat $10 and drinks are $1! That alone should persuade you to come. The food is definitely worth more! Now on to the "need for improvement" items. I have been to places where I've eaten in a sort of patio covered with a tarp in 100 degree weather because the burritos were amazing (shout out if you know what place I'm talking about). Atmosphere and service are always last on my list. I know this location is brand new so I can't really blame this place for their rookie jitters. They are barely two months old and it's obvious they are doing their best to conserve capital until they build a big enough clientele to the point where they can really offer the big bang experience. Unfortunately, I have to point these flaws out so that I stay unbiased. They run their cooling system quite low. As in barely enough. If you're a bigger guy like me, you'll probably sweat while you eat especially if you order something spicy. The restaurant looks somewhat like a fast food cafeteria, unfortunately. I know they are doing their best with what they have, but it seems that they don't always have the full menu available. I'm sure they don't expect many clients at the moment, so I can't blame them for that. Just know that you probably won't be able to order exactly what you want. If you're wanting to try it out, go with the Lomo. That's a classic and always available. The owners told me that they have all their specialities available Saturdays, so that's probably the best day to go. The owners are extremely nice. They speak Spanish and they have a brother who speaks English as well. Luckily we didn't have a language barrier and had a pleasant conversation with them. The lady Rosa reminded me of my mom. She's sweet, short, and can cook quite the meal. This is the definition of homestyle Peruvian cooking. My aunts have some competition over here! Don't let the cosmetics fool you here. This restaurant is just starting out. The food is amazing and can quite possibly carry them to the promised land. I expect to see bigger and better things here, and you best believe Rosa's has found a new regular. Highly recommended. Once they brush off their first year flaws, this place will be beyond worthy of 5 stars. read more

This place is a rare gem. I'm just glad I was able to find it because they offered a Groupon! Their deal on Groupon was a steal!! Everything I ordered was delicious! I didn't rate it 5 stars because there were several items I wanted to try, but it was unavailable until the weekend or they just didn't make it that day. All in all, I understand because it's a "momma and papa" shop and they want their food to be fresh. And the location, it's behind a liquor store and by a tattoo parlor (it's a little sketchy). I understand that COVID has had an effect on businesses.... that being said i would have gave it two stars if I didn't find a hair half way through. First of all, I ordered takeout and the lady on the phone told me to come in twenty minutes, cool. I load my baby in the car and drive over after 25 minutes and when I walk in she asks if I can wait ten more minutes... ok. So I go back to my car and drive around for fifteen more minutes, come back, she asks me to pay which I do, and then asks me to wait another ten minutes.... ok. Now I would understand if they were busy, but there was only one family there eating and not one Uber eats or grub hub person stopped by for take out orders. Now after standing in the restaurant for fifteen more minutes while my wife and baby sat in the car I finally just walked out. That's when the lady came out running saying sorry and handing me my food. Now I waited until after I ate to write this review because if the food was good it might have been worth it. It wasn't. The steak in the lomo saltado was dry, unflavored and tasted like jerky, the rice was dry and flavorless also half way through I pulled a hair out of the fries....cool. The chauffa was a little better, but I asked for asada and they gave me some meat that I actually don't know what it is. The rice doesn't taste flavored and they give a teaspoon on the salsa. Now I'm all for supporting small businesses and will continue to try places out, but in all honesty don't go here, it's a waste of time and money. Just reheat some panda leftovers and you may still have a better meal. read more
