Hands-down the best restaurant in Bakersfield by far! Everything from the appetizers to the main dishes was absolutely amazing. Every dish was full of flavor and so beautifully prepared. The Lobster Mein, spicy cucumber and the Miso popcorn shrimp are to die for!!!!! ‍ Our server, Mika, was AMAZING...so knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive, and provided some of the best customer service we've experienced in a long time. I absolutely love this place! From the food to the ambiance and decor, everything is amazing. And the bar drinks? So good. the "Hello Miss Kitty" and "Sexy Geisha" are must tries! Some of my favorite dishes are the ribeye with asparagus, the Emperor's Fish, spicy cucumber (my all-time favorite), spicy edamame, and the green beans and that's just naming a few. Both desserts on the menu are incredible OMG! I've been here so many times since they opened, and they never disappoint. The quality, atmosphere, and service are always consistent. Bakersfield ! This is what yall needed. Let's Start off with the atmosphere. First and foremost the vibes here are chill relaxed and great welcoming the second you enter those entry doors. The hosts great you in such a welcoming manner makes you feel like you are welcomed and at home. When seated your servers each one smiling and happy to welcome you. The excitement that each one has when they speak about the food is honest and truthful. The variety of food and different Asian style dishes and dishes with the KAGE touch are so intriguing I'm not sure you would be able to try all the food in one night. This is a great taste of happiness. From the Lobster mien to the robata ribeye and to the house fried rice oh and the sticky wings ! All this food is amazing i wish i could say that you would need a to go box when your finished but it's just that great you will finish all your food before leaving. Chefs Kiss to the cooks in the back ! Their sushi and fresh fish amazing. The salads are crafted just the right amount of dressing ! Dessert the lava cake and macha cheesecake such a delight add for you sweet tooth fans ! Okay! This place reminds me alot of DTLA restaurants that are super hip and with extra extra loud music, to the point you cant hear the people around you. It's beautiful decorated and the service was great and attentive on a extremely busy Saturday. Food was delicious we had the short rib wrapped asparagus, shrimp appetizer which also was delicious with vegetables, and lastly we shared crispy pork and shrimp fried rice, that was good too. The drinks Were delicious i dont remember the name but it had dragon fruit in it and it was very pretty! My favorite was short rib wrapped in asparagus! They are still in their soft open, they are doing very well, we will retune agin on date night, and maybe sit super close to one another to hear each other talk hahaha. Overall great experience and such a good new take on a traditional various asian dishes, a good change up with the 100s of the same type of restaurants popping up and serving the same thing. read more

Let me start off by saying I am blown away Bakersfield. Initially, when you approach the building here, you forget that you're in Little kern County. The entire atmosphere at Kage gives you an elevated experience. From the entrance into the building, I have to say the aesthetics are very nicely done. They do a great job at separating the dinner and the more family style parties away from the dance floor, DJ and bar area where you can network and chat. My server was Eric. He was so knowledgeable at the new menu. I was surprised since they just opened, but he did inform me that they did a taste test prior to opening so he was very well experienced. I started with some oyster appetizers and a couple of different options and I have to say everything here was 10 out of 10. Eric was very attentive and consistently checked in with my party and even recommended us nightlife options as it was a weekend. We tried several of these signature drinks, which were all surprisingly executed very well from the taste to presentation. The food was some of the most delicious cuisine I've had in a while! We got the shrimp fried rice and the lobster mein. The seafood was excellently done, and the shrimp were humongous! The udon noodles and fried rice were well seasoned and rich in flavor. I definetly ate more than I should have. Out server, Salvador, was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a quick rundown of the menu and let us know what the current favorites are. The food was served quickly and beautifully. The ambience was beautiful. Decorations gorgeous and very atmospheric. Personally, I prefer a bit more privacy when eating and a less open environment. More cozy. If I could change one thing it would be that. Very cute resturant and was excited to eat here! Love the other businesses that are in the same resturant chain and expected similar service. Could not be more dissapointed, I will active be urging my friends and family to not come here. My friends had to yell over the music the whole night, now their voices are gone. The service was awful, my server was taking shots with the table next to us while we were waiting for food. The server also forgot to put in an order for something we asked for. After 20min he remembered to put the order in and then 40min after we asked for it we finally got the food. Prices are on the higher end, and--unlike the other resturants in the chain--the portions are tapas-sized small. Be ready to order a bunch of stuff if you're hungry and pay for it. So, come dressed nice, order something and take your pics and leave. Not worth anything more than a cute IG post and you will be risking ruining your evening. read more
