Rosati's deep dish pizza was really good! We ordered a deep dish with jalapeños, chicken, and mushrooms, super flavorful and very spicy (if you like heat, definitely add the jalapeños!). The fries were fresh and crisp, not too salty, and the Chicago dog had a great balance of sweet and salty toppings classic and satisfying. It's a walk-in spot with no seating, so it's pickup only. I recommend ordering online or calling ahead I live in St. Pete and ordered before leaving, and my food was ready when I arrived. Fast, friendly service and solid Chicago-style comfort food. I hate to do this but their Chicago style pizza is awful. I can't even express how bad the flavor, cook and crust was. It's not a true Chicago deep dish by any means. I will say, their traditional round pizza is better and that's why I gave them 3 stars. I would give the Chicago pizza 1 star for sure. There is a place called Cappy's in St Pete that is really good. They're more expensive but it's a true Chicago style and flavor. read more

I WON'T BE COMING BACK! WORST TAKEOUT EXPERIENCE EVER! This Rosati's opens at 11am and I entered at 11:30, hoping to take advantage of their slice and soda $6 lunch combo. There were no pizzas in the warming rack, so I asked if any slices are available and was told, "I'm working on it. I've got a half cheese - half pepperoni coming out in a couple minutes. Also a sausage pizza." So I ordered a sausage slice and promptly paid, AFTER which she said, "Okay, it'll be out in a couple minutes." Then she sort of interrupted herself and said emphatically, "TEN!" It took me a bit by surprise because by that time the cashier had said twice, "out in a couple minutes." When I realized she was now saying it would take ten minutes to get my sausage slice, it indicated to me that the sausage pizza was possibly not even in the oven! But I thought, I'll be patient and wait ten minutes. Ten minutes later, still no pizza slices available. FIFTEEN minutes after I ordered, the cashier brought out the cheese/pepperoni pizza and put it in the heated display rack, but still no sausage pizza. Finally, more than TWENTY minutes after I ordered, with me expecting the slice "in a couple minutes" or "TEN!", she brought out my sausage slice. By then, I had noticed the refrigerated cooler - advertising Pepsi - had NO regular Pepsi, just Diet, Mountain Dew, Mug root beer, and a dozen or so other flavors. So I asked why there was no Pepsi in the cooler and the cashier said, "We ran out." I asked if there was any Pepsi in the back of the store, and she said, with annoyance, "No. We ran out." I said I wouldn't have paid for the combo if I knew there was no Regular Pepsi in the PEPSI display case! I also said this was a terrible experience since she'd said TWICE that the pizza would be "out in a couple minutes" and it was 20 minutes before I got my slice She quickly said, "I TOLD you it would be TEN!" And I pointed out she said that AFTER she had rung up my order and I had paid for it. If she had been honest and said, it'll take 20 minutes for a slice of sausage pizza, I would have been able to make a decision on waiting for it or not. But since I had already PAID, she conned me into thinking the pizza would be "out in a couple minutes." She lied. I refuse to be lied to, and that is why I will never return to this place. As I said earlier, I won't EVER return to this Rosati's. It seems I'm probably not alone in boycotting this place. I am a huge fan of Chicago style pizza and always prefer it when I'm in a new town. So, I ordered one my first night in Clearwater. The pizza arrived and it LOOKED amazing. But unfortunately the taste didn't live up to the appearance. The cheese was great, but the sauce just didn't have any flavor but the worst part was the crust was VERY tough. I could barely chew it because of how tough it was. BIG disappointment. The food is very delicious. If you're looking for New York style pizza, it's not here, however, they have a good Chicago style whether it's stuffed or thin. Ordering delivery is a breeze. They give you a ton of questions depending on how you want it so you can get it exactly the way you want it. The only thing I would shy away from is watering on the weekends you kind of get what they give you because they're probably really busy. As far as ambiance, I've never been to the place. We got a sausage "Chicago" style pan and a regular large cheese pizza. Let's start with the pan pizza that was nothing like anything I had in Chicago. The pan pizza was not what you would expect or want.. was the sausage a solid layer, no.. was the crust buttery and delicious, no.. was the cheese flavorful or even have any real taste at all, no.. It is more like you carved out a loaf of bread and filled it with the cheapest ingredients you could find. The regular cheese was a flavorless bready mess. The texture was no good at all and the crust did not have any crisp and seemed like bad homemade pizza in an oven that was not hot enough. The prices for the pizza here are off the chart as well so you would expect a better product with better ingredients which was not the case. There are so many other local places that are cheaper, better ingredients, and much better preparation. If you like doughy, bland, and costly then this is the place for you. read more

Ordered pizza tonight for the first time from Rosati's. They advertise great Chicago thin crust pizza. I was extremely disappointed. They did offer a good number of ingredients, but the crust was completely flavorless and limp. The foundation for any good pizza is the crust. We only ate half of the $25 pizza. Now I am stuck with half I don't even want. My neighbor has kids so I will just give it to her. There are better pizza places around. Noble Crust or Christinos is much better. I lived in Chicago for 10 years, I've eaten a fair amount of CHICAGO DEEP DISH. Rosati's Pizza is more like THICK CRUST rather than true deep dish. It's OK, since I can't drive to Chicago and get the real thing, but not exactly what I used to get at say Giordano's, Uno's, Geno's East or Barry's Spot. It's like the difference between real White Castles and Krystal burgers, close but not quite. Also, be aware that this place is CARRY-OUT ONLY! I was disappointed the first time I ordered here and had to sit outside on Publix's picnic tables in the wind and drizzle to eat my pie. There's really not too much competition for deep dish Chicago pizza in Tampa Bay. So it was exciting to see this familiar name in the neighborhood. I have been wanting to try it for some time and they r continuing to open new locations in Florida. I love the diced tomato sauce and the depth of the pizza and the real fact that real deep dish pizza does take 40 minutes to make not 20. We ordered the pepperoni supreme with mushrooms, pepperoni, and green peppers(no onion. I like toppings. The crust was flavorless to me though. For me, the true test is eating the leftovers to see if the flavor set in. It did not. I ate the top of the pizza but not the bread and crust. Which when I love it, I gobble it up. I'm glad Rosati's is an option, but I'm still on the search. So far I have my number 1 deep dish Chicago pizza fave local and my number 1 thin crust Chicago pizza fave. If you need to get your fix and this is what's close to you, definitely check it out for yourself. It's still good not GREAT, but definitely better than that New York Style. I do not claim to be an expert on Chicago style pizzas, but I used to frequent a few deep dish places in California. My forte is New York style since I'm from the Empire State. We ordered from here upon suggestion from fellow Yelper Rachel M. and I'm glad we tried it. Be aware that it does take a while for your pizza to be made since this is deep dish and needs to be cooked longer. Hubby and I went for the 14 inch deep dish pie. This was TONS for us and could probably feed a family of 4. We still had half of our pizza for lunch the next day. The pizza was HEAVY which is always a good sign when it comes to deep dish. The toppings were quite good and fresh. I thought there was just the right amount of cheese too and the tomatoes were nicely seasoned. The only gripe I have is with the crust, it was just meh. Nothing special, I've had better crusts at my other places (Blue Line, Patxis, Asaggio) I used to visit in CA. I don't live in the area, but I'd definitely order again from here if I did. read more

Atmosphere/Service: This is not a dine in place. You can get delivery or you can pick up and take out. The front counter area is clean and the staff seem nice. The way they staff the front is interesting as they had one person on the register that would often walk to the back leaving customers up front just standing around. They had multiple people in the back working to make pizzas. Again, the staff seemed nice enough but if there are a few people waiting, you may have a long wait. I got there and my pizza was ready but I had to wait a while for them to handle other people. Once they got to me, they just got my box and I left. Long wait. Food: The pizza was pretty good. Seems that their standard amount of cheese is closer to extra at most places so it was awesome. I got a double dough crust wich was great. The flavor of the crust was descent and the main part of the pizza was excellent. I would certainly try it again. I work for a food delivery service. I went to pick up an order from Rosatis on Ulmerton road. When I arrived a customer was standing at the counter stating he had been waiting for 5 mins. I yelled hello and he hit the bell several times. Finally a young man came out from the back, and the customer who had been waiting asked for a box for his leftovers. The employee told him he only had boxes for to-go orders. The customer was agitated and asked for the employees name and the managers name. He mumbled Albert or Alberto and said he was the manager! The customer told him he had been waiting for a while for help and the employee said he was by himself and had to answer the phone, etc. As we walked out the customer said that he wasn't alone, there was a young female working with him. And sure enough, as I drove off I looked at the store and there was a young woman on the phone. So this guy lied to us! I will never go and get food here due to this experience! A friend of ours posted this new take out pizza place & pic of his order: italian sausage pizza & highly recommended; it & that the Italian sausage was awesome. So on way home from Dr. appt we stopped in to Rosati's yesterday & got their featured deal: add on 12" thin crust Cheese pizza for $1 when you get an 18" pizza. We usually just get pepperoni i never get sausage on pizzas anymore cz it always tastes like sht! Being that everyone else that commented on that post who tried it also said it was so good, so I got half the pie with it. Lemme tell you Rosati's Italian sausage is amazing! This only place I'll get sausage on my pizza! That deal was awesome cz we got to try both style crusts we got the regular double dough crust for the 18" & the 12" thin crust for $1 was awesome too! Wrappin rest up to freezer for another day! Their crusts, sauce, 100% whole milk mozzarella fresh toppings & awesome team of amazing humans makes this a 10 star. If you advertise one thing and then do something else it's called bait and switch. If you don't operate within the parameters you define you are compromising the trust you built with your patron. When you have employees that lie to customers you have destroyed that trust. Employees like that are helping you to lose mo and business. You could hav a mediocre product but still have it sell more by having awesome, well trained staff complete sales with win-win customer servic. Do not eat here. This food was amazing and had great portions. We always get Rosati's whenever we want some pizza. When we got it delivered they said it would 45 mins but it actually only took 30 mins to get it and they gave spices and plates and silverware the service was amazing. What enticed me to try Rosati's Pizza, was their sign stating Chicago deep dish pizza. I haven't had a good deep dish pizza since Uno's Pizza in Beantown, near Fenway Park. Rosati's is a 200 unit chain operation, similar to Uno pizza. Sadly, this store only offers take out or a delivery operation. There are two tables inside the very small ordering area. It's located on the south side of Ulmerton Road in between Publix supermarket and Home Depot. I called to place a late evening order for a deep dish pie. My choices were 10 inch or 14 inch. So I ordered the 14 inch pie with onions and peppers, was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. Once there I ponied up my $24 for my pie. Upon carrying it outside I realized this is one heavy pizza! Once home I opened up the box and here was this magnificent looking pizza pie. It was as they described, a pan cooked, buttery crust smothered with cheese in chunky tomato sauce. We ordered green pepper and onions also. I'm a big eater, I could only do two slices while my wife tried her hardest to finish one slice. It was thoroughly enjoyable very tasty, lots of cheese, crusty crust, with chunks of tomato sauce. The only let down was that they charged $5.00 for the green pepper and onions, which I thought was rather sparse. Pizzas other than the deep dish come, 12, 14, 16, and 18 inch. Also on the menu are sandwiches, various pastas, salads, and appetizers. I'll surely be stopping by again for a "taste of Chicago!" read more
