This is my second time here within 2 months, first alone, then with my family. We had a party of 12 for our Dad's birthday. My Mom is not easily impressed, my brother is a pescatarian, and a close friend's wife only eats salads. Well, everyone was very happy with our meal and dining experience! The salad lady actually had a salmon dinner, my brother had a seafood pasta, and my parents both enjoyed their meals. Dad and I both really enjoyed the Tave Kosi, traditional lamb with yogurt, eggs and rice cooked in a pastry shell. The Oda's Meze appetizer platter served about 10 of us, and was fantastic!! They brought us a baklava platter to celebrate my Dad's 86th birthday, and that was very tasty, just right. Our server was excellent, and very friendly!! I can't wait to come back again. read more

We arrived at 5:30. There were just a few tables of diners eating or waiting to be served. We ordered about 6:30 and the food was delicious and servings more than adequate. The ambiance was nicer than expected from previous reviews in the Times and Belleaire Bee. My branzino was perfectly cooked & delicious. My dining partners enjoyed the lamb shank and seafood pasta dish. The stuffed pasta pillows was a delicious appetizer. The squid appetizer was not so appealing. The issues that would preclude our return until resolved are related to lack of service. With a nearly full restaurant, just the owner and his wife took orders and served food. Refills on water had to be requested repeatedly. As more patrons arrived, it was evident that they waited longer than is acceptable to have orders taken & food served. With another server or two, this restaurant will be a genuine neighborhood gem for locals. Prices are reasonable and the food perfectly prepared and delicious. read more

This has gotta be my new fave restaurant. This weekend we were on a kick with trying new food. Today was Albanian food day. This restaurant I would say is off the beaten path. In Largo on a corner near a residential area next to an older gas station, you will find this brick building and this restaurant on its own. Walk inside and it is nicely decorated and you don't feel like you're in Florida anymore. You're definitely transported. I walked in, & let them know we are new to Albanian food and would love if they could help us order. They were so friendly and helpful. So much food here looks good and different. They have pics on their menu online. Pics are the ultimate game changer for us. It's a must have with picking food. We decided on two entrees this time. Lamb Shank with risotto for the hubby and Bronzino Mediteranean fish for me. Love love love these flavors. So much and not comparable. Definitely unique. We'll be back for more. It was just so good. Tried this place out while on vacation in Indian Rocks Beach. Food was amazing! Wife had the Bronzino which came with shrimp, too, both phenomenal. We also got the strip steak which was great and for my meal I got the Oda's Mezze, which is an appetizer that feeds 2-3 (according to the menu) and it was the highlight of the meal. Would work great as a table appetizer, for sure. Everything on the platter was awesome, the sausage being my favorite, the cheesy stuffed pepper being a close second. We love to try new and different cuisines and cultures. So this fit the bill. Our appetizers were the meatballs, the cornbread in yogurt brine and cheese pasta in balsamic fig. The cheese pasta was hands down our favorite followed closely by the meatballs. The dipping sauce for the meatballs is reminiscent of tzatziki sauce with a kick. The house wine is a delicious red and very good. Highly recommend! We all ordered lamb dishes and it was all delicious. The dessert was baklava but not like Greek baklava, it was not as sickeningly sweet, and it had two small scoops of peach ice cream. Delicious!! Service was outstanding and the by the owner who waited on us. The atmosphere was authentic Albanian music and video of their countryside. We heard a lot of good things about this new spot, so we decided to check it out. We really didn't know what to expect since neither of us was familiar with Albanian food. First off, the atmosphere is lovely and the music was very soothing. I think it's just the owner and his wife waiting on all the tables. Four people came in behind us, and they seemed to know the owners. They were served bread and drinks right away. So, on her next trip past me, I asked for bread. She nodded and said she would bring it right away. Finally we got bread, our drinks, and placed our orders. I specifically mentioned 'no mushrooms' at least twice. Yet, when my order came out, there were mushrooms on top. (Sigh...I can't be the only person who hates mushrooms!) They were so apologetic and immediately took it away to make another dish. My husband's chicken and shrimp dish was excellent, and we shared it while waiting for my pork chop dinner. When my dish arrived, it looked great and he explained that it was on the house! I said that was totally not necessary, but he insisted. The pork chop dish was also excellent; perfectly cooked and paired nicely with roasted potatoes and carrots. Upon presenting the check, he apologized again and I said there was no need because the food was fantastic and we really enjoyed the experience. We tipped on what would have been the full price and will definitely come back here again. read more

We had a change of plans and ended up needing to find a restaurant to grab food from to bring to a friend house for dinner. I was yelping what was good in the area and saw this place. The star rating was amazing, but there were only about a dozen reviews, so I was a little bit hesitant. Were they legit reviews, or were they all friends and family of the owners? We decided to try it out anyway. I mean, Albanian food is not very common, and I'm always up for trying someplace new. This place was amazing! I was sad that we couldn't eat there because it was so cute inside. They even have a little back screened in covered patio with nice views. The reviews I had seen on yelp had mentioned the lamb shank, so we got two lamb shanks, and the owner recommended the pork as a popular dish, so we got two of those, along with the byrek dish and bave dheu. They were out of the roasted vegetable dish. We had a drink while waiting, and we're pleased by the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. We were the only ones in there when we arrived, but by the time we left, they had a couple of small groups of people come in When we got to our friends' house, we took everything out of the bag. The food was... Oh my gosh... Amazing! The meats were both well cooked, tender, and moist meat and the sauces were amazing! The lamb shank had a wine sauce and the pork chop had a cream sauce. I don't think there was a drop of sauce left on any of our plates. It was so delicious. The other sides were great too! And now our friends are planning on coming back as well - we were all blown away by this food! Definitely check it out! You won't be disappointed. This is the most amazing restaurant. Their food is out of this world, their sesame and cheese appetizer and couldn't get enough of it. I had a lamb shank, and it was delicious tender. They have excellent wine. We had a white wine that we loved. The Decor is lovely. The waitress had the greatest personality on her, which made dinner even better. Everyone there loved their food. Went back yesterday with family and it was so good again! We started with the Oda Mezze appetizer plus sachetti and everything was delicious. The house red wine is excellent at only $7.00. Then, we ordered entrees including the grilled Branzino, pork chop with gorgonzola sauce, traditional tave dheu in a crock, and the butter beans. I asked for a suggestion I was given 2 the salmon & the Linguine me fruita deta .a delicious combo of mussels,shrimp calamari over pasta. I was given an Albanian Brandy , Men must try it. I have been here several times over the summer months, the food and service is always spot on. Every time I go I have brought new friends with me to try out this little gem of a restaurant and they have all returned introducing their friends to this cuisine. They have recently updated their menu so there are some new items to try, although I miss the original Oda salad. The dinning room was designed so you would feel like you're visiting or eating with friends and that's exactly how it feels! Oh my! This place is amazing. Never had Albanian food before and it was so good. I had the steak and had enough left for two more meals. My son in Law said it was the best risotto he ever had. The person who had the fish said it was spot on. Service might be a little slow because the server/owner is busy explaining the menu and his country. The wait is worth the experience. Wow! Stepped a little out of our comfort zone because we knew nothing of Albanian food, but so happy we did. Starting at the top: the house wine and bread (nice & warm with a sprig of rosemary) was good, the recommended Sachetti appetizer was to die for (we almost licked the plate), lamb shank and risotto (hard to do right) was delish as well as the salmon and vegetables. We topped it off with homemade tiramisu. Reasonable prices for really good food made this place a great find. We love mom & pop restaurants and their attention to detail both in service & cleanliness was above & beyond. The ambiance is old school "we're proud of our heritage" decoration as well they should be. I'm kind of partial to authentic cuisine & atmosphere. Wonderful Albanian Restaurant Albanian food has elements of Greek, Italian and Turkish cuisines--plus some wonderful aspects that are solely Albanian. Oda e Miqve, which roughly translates to "Ode to Friends" is a charming restaurant with friendly staff, so the name is appropriate. The restaurant is nicely decorated and feels warm and welcoming. Shortly after ordering, they brought a basket of warm and delicious bread--homemade I was told. It was delicious. I started with "Supe Pule me Oriz", lemon and chicken and rice, like a Greek avgolemono soup. It was a large serving and very good. I moved on to the "Fileto Derri" for my main. It was a huge pork chop covered in a wonderful cream and mushroom sauce with a mix of vegetables on the side. It was very rich, but I managed to finish every bite. My only quibble was that the pork and veggies were just slightly overdone, but not enough to lower my rating. A glass of the house red wine was quite nice. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. I will happily return to explore more of their menu. read more

Delicious!!!! The food was so amazing and fresh. I loved the ambience. So cozy and inviting. The service was above and beyond. Since they are newly opened, they brought us some things to try that we hadn't ordered, which was so nice. We started with the crispy cornbread and the bruschetta. Both were very tasty and I loved the presentation of the bruschetta on a wooden board. I had the salmon piccata for my entree. It was wonderful--lots of capers, which earns extra points for me. My mom had the lamb shank which was a huge portion and beautifully presented, as well as delicious. Other dishes ordered by our party were the pasta carbonara, tortellini with Alfredo and the New York Strip with mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. This is the only Albanian restaurant in the Tampa Bay area (per google and yelp search). There are many in NYC, Philadelphia, etc. Albania is next to Greece and has some similarities re cuisine. We're lucky to have such a good Albanian restaurant here in Largo. I'd give it 4.6 or even 4.7, but Yelp doesn't allow decimals any more, so I rated it a 5. We had a glass of their house red $7 (very good, and for the price, excellent), an app'r recommended by the waiter (creamy, pasta-y, little bits of figs on top) - really excellent, A pasta entree with sort of meatballs on top (where can you find a good entree at a good restaurant large enuf to take half of it home, for.............$16), another pasta entree with sort of a creamy sauce for $18. We skipped dessert - they had baklava for $7. Service was very welcoming and very good. Their menu on the internet is far out of date, so you shouldn't use it. Another issue is that parking is very limited, but there's a grassy area less than a half a block away. read more
