My son is 4 and is on the spectrum- finding a place he is comfortable at and well cared for has not been easy. We are always greeted by every single person who works there and the staff at the kids club is so incredibly welcoming and you can tell they really care about the kids. My son asks to go to the gym every single day - he has made friends, he is talking more, he is becoming much more independent and it is because of Villa Sports. Stacey has went out of her way to give me updates on my son and I feel like this place is so lucky to have her, and so is every kid that goes here. If I could list every kids club staff member I would because I truly love all of them. If you have kids, this place is for you! No question about it. On top of that, this place is clean, has so many machine opens, tons of free weights, a great pool and just wow - I will never go anywhere else and honestly neither should you! I began working with one of the Villa Sport personal trainers in September. I was matched up to…read morework with trainer Matt for my free training session. I was a little intimidated to be working with him initially. I've only had female personal trainers in the past, and I came into that session during a phase of life where I felt disconnected from my body. I felt very vulnerable and exposed to be reaching out for help to a really strong gym guy. During that session, Matt made me feel so comfortable. He was kind and encouraging. We talked about all of my postpartum challenges and he took notes on what mattered most to me and what I wanted from our time together. I really appreciated how he didn't assume what I wanted or needed just from looking at me. I left that session feeling empowered, hopeful, and safe in this space. (Not to mention he fixed my squat in that first session!) Over the last few months, with Matt's programming, I have gained a few pounds of muscle and lost 6% of my body fat. He writes my programs based on my schedule and what I enjoy doing. He's adapted my workouts to support my pelvic floor health which was a very big postpartum concern for me. Any fear I had of bringing up my pelvic floor to a male trainer were squashed by Matt's caring/person-first approach to training. If you are feeling vulnerable, exposed or intimidated, but ready to get some professional support in the gym, I cannot recommend Matt more highly. He's the trainer for you! In addition to my work with Matt, I began taking Reformer Pilates classes once a week with Kate. It is the most fun I've ever had while working that hard! The Reformer machine is such a unique piece of equipment and keeps my brain really interested and engaged in what we are doing. The glide of the carriage and buoyancy of the springs feel so unique to other types of equipment. It's SO fun- horizontal jumping anyone?! But also, so challenging! Luckily for me, Kate is an incredible instructor! Her cues and prompts are spot on and always help me correct my form and activate the right muscle group. She moves throughout the room and provides individualized encouragement and coaching to each of us. Kate also facilitates an awesome vibe in the class! She is fun and friendly and has created a space that feels welcoming and easy to enter into, even as a total beginner. I'm extremely thankful for the team at Villa Sport who have made me feel like I belong while also achieving my goals. 10/10 recommend.

And there were 2 of them for our little group - so they were always close by with a tip or to answer a question. We learned all the basics and by the end of the class, we were curling! Fun fact: This is the only dedicated curling facility in Oregon. It's tucked away in a business park and when you walk in, it feels like a club you immediately want to be a part of. They even built a little bar so you can warm up with a beer, wine or cocktail. It's all about the ice so they keep the place chilly - between 38-41 degrees - so dress appropriately. After our lesson, I could see myself getting into this sport. We might even start going to the Friday night pop-ins to "throw some stones."

My entire opinion on curling has changed from what I've learned today. This is hard work and takes a lot of strategy. We had a great time as a group learning, making a team name and when we were confident enough we got to play a real game. And we won! Just a lot of variety of sports training happens here. The facility has a turf area for baseball and lacrosse, an indoor inline hockey rink, a watchtower overlooking the rink, and a concession stand serving drinks and small snacks. They also sell a few accessories like wheels and tape. Ive been playing pickup hockey here for a few weeks, and i don't think you could meet a better community. Everyone is helpful, offering both encouragement and pointers on improving your game. Eventually, i would like to get good enough to join one of their leagues, but for now playing in the beer nuts pick-up games has been great! Maybe the only strike about the place is there really isn't a posted schedule for things happening. Though it seems shift around from season to season. So reach out and email them so they can fill you in. Im extremely happy that I did, and look forward every week to go play hockey. The parking isn't great, but walking a little never hurt anyone. The coaches are great and the staff running the front counter are also great! We're hosting our sons 5th birthday here which includes a bar tender and coaches to run games for the kids on the soccer field. We're able to decorate the table area for the party and bring our own food. What more could you want? People just want an excuse to complain. The Facility itself seems to be in great shape. In addition to soccer they have a pool and yoga classs and work out classes. I definitely recommend coming here! It's awesome! You can even date night here and watch a league game and have a cold beer!

Dealing with an injury, I'm walking with a cane and was immediately disappointed that the front door did not have an automatic handicap button. Upon entering, no one greeted me, they were too busy chatting with themselves. While the pool has stairs in addition to ladders, the steps are not standard height. A few of them are about 1.5 x the height making it extremely challenging for those with mobility issues. Not only are they too high, they are not consistent. Very dangerous! Yes, they have a chair lift for those in a wheelchair, but for others who are disabled and have difficulty going up and down stairs, this pool should have lower steps the way the Pearl and the NE Weidler LA Fitness are designed. I'm surprised this passed code. Bathrooms were not clean. I had to find paper towels to clear out the mass of hair from the drain before showering. Parking lot is super crowded, hard to find a spot close to door, and being handicapped, not enough handicapped spots so all were taken. Tried out this location because I needed to get my workout in, but when the Pearl is closed, I'll drive out to Tualatin for a better experience.
