The donuts here are mediocre at best but since they are the closest donut shop to my house I was a customer. Until last night. My 12 year old went in to buy a donut and left his backpack hanging on the chair. When he realized he had left it there he went back in the morning to see if they had put it aside for him. To our surprise the owners did find his backpack but instead of saving it for him they threw it outside the door when they locked up for the night. The husband and wife team who run this place are rotten people. Never going back again. It's worth the extra couple of minutes to get to Mary's in Lakeside. I can guarantee you the employees there wouldn't throw away a 12 year old's backpack. read more

I came here on a craving, craving for a warm, fluffy goodness. I didn't have much money on me but decided to go for a half dozen. I picked three and my boyfriend picked three. All in all for $4 bucks. I started with a long chocolate glaze. It was sweet fluffy and good! Given that we went late at night, it felt fresh out of the oven good! Came through on a whim of a donut craving and was surprised with most friendliest staff I have ever met! A little mom and pop type shop that is ecstatic to see you! The donuts were extremely fresh and were so full of flavor! They are a little hole in the wall shop that has better donuts than I've tasted from bigger chain donut shops. Wow I was very surprised to find this place across from my dogs vets office. Saw the sign and got the urge for a couple donuts. I am very picky. I think the plain cake donut or buttermilk are the test of a good donut shop. I got a dozen including a plain cake, chocolate cake with chocolate icing, glazed, maple bar. Cinnamon swirl and other types of yummy treats! I have to say that every thing I bought was absolutely yum!! Tasted soooo good! I will be going back again and again. My husband agrees! I have been here twice and both times I was satisfied. Both times I have came here I have gotten donut holes and a chocolate covered donut. The prices are extremely cheap. One of my donuts was supposed to be white frosting with chocolate sprinkles and she put chocolate frosting with regular sprinkles in the bag instead. Another was supposed to be pink cake with sprinkles, but she just put a plain pink with no sprinkles in the bag. The smell of the place was rather unappetizing and she charged 50 cents for using a debit card without notifying me. At least the donuts tasted like they should. read more

Rose's Donuts made our list for Stop #2 in our New Years Eve Donut Crawl and I am so glad someone suggested it. While we were a little full and sugared up from our first stop I powered through and ordered a cream filled chocolate bar and it was so good! I even went back for National Donut Day. Holy smokes the egg roll this spot produces is off the chain.. It's brick shaped instead of the typical cylindrical varieties and it brings me back to the days when Tang @ Krispy Donuts in Serra Mesa used to crank out these tasty pastries. Their stuffed with a ground beef and shredded cabbage/carrot. Drizzle some soy sauce on it while its hot and you're golden. YUM! read more

The proprieter had her 2 teen daughters choosing donuts when I came in. A room full of men looking like lawyers sitting and talking having fun. The customers were friendly, the Employee was of course friendly, but her 2 girls -had racial attitude looks that could kill even for that early in the morning. i live right by this place and can see it from my window, i awoke this sunday morning to drive over and enjoyed a glazed donut with milk on the road, good prices! only 4.50 for half-d and they taste like the usual fluffy donuts places like this usually have. excluding crispy creme which i hate, most donuts taste the same as long as the glazed bread is thick and fluffy instead of those thin, way-to-rich donuts at the late crispy cream. but then again I'm 6'2 190lbs so i don't eat donuts that often so what do i know except being a less than avid consumer. read more
