I've been a patron of Rose Park Coffee Roasters on 4th Street in Long Beach, CA for a little over a year now, and all of my experiences have been very pleasant so far. I don't drink coffee at all, so I will typically order a water when I drop in, and that's more than enough for me as I'm typically only working on small assignments or reading for a couple of hours anyway. Regardless of how busy it might be on any given day, I'm always acknowledged and greeted with a warm welcome as soon as I walk in. A simple greeting may seem like a no-brainer in a customer service environment, but not every employee greets customers when they drop in - so it's much appreciated to the Long Beach staff. The café isn't big, but the interior is very quaint and homey, so I generally prefer to snag a seat indoors when I am around. The music isn't oppressively loud like at most Starbucks in my area, so I really appreciate that as someone who is likely working, reading, or doing both when I do hit up a café. While I can't offer any insight into the quality of coffee, lattes, etc. I can vouch for Rose Park in LB if you need a low-key spot to relax or get some work done. read more

Delicious coffee and excellent service! I got the soyrizo empanada and caramel miso latte (decaf). The empanada was fine, although I felt it needed more savory flavor. The caramel miso latte was AMAZING. Will def be back for that. I also tried the jalapeño cheddar biscuit and the regular biscuit with their house made jam (blackberry?) those were both very good The baristas had a great vibe and I felt very comfortable here. The only thing is that there weren't enough chairs outside, so we had to grab some high chairs that were too tall for the table we were at. Overall, would definitely recommend. read more

Just terrible. Customer service is beyond abhorrent. The baristas are indifferent, rude, untrained and yet somehow filled with a sense of superiority. I am not the type of customer who says they love coffee and then order a 24oz latte that is barely even beige tinted. I need quality coffee otherwise I might as well go to a gas station and milk the heck down out of their coffee. This place doesn't know how to make good coffee, they use sweetened or vanilla flavored milks that absolutely destroy the flavor, the matcha I tried was undrinkable and with all the customer service issues I don't know why anybody would bother going there. You can immediately tell they take coffee-making seriously and you're in for a good cup no matter what. I got the Maple Lavender Latte which was silky smooth, warm, and very subtly flavored with maple and lavender. The maple overpowered the lavender and the orange zest actually overpowered both. The Peach Crumble Scone was surprisingly good! I usually don't get scones as they tend to be dry but this one was not and I loved the peach essence and sweetness from the crumble on top. I love Rose Park! I have been to the other location on Pine and decided to try this location for the day to get some work done. The staff here are very friendly and genuinely kind.As I was sitting there for a while they would check in and offered to bring me water. I could tell there were a lot of regulars coming in for their morning coffee. I ordered a very basic Americano and it was delicious. I love their espresso. The cafe is on the smaller side but if you're able to get there on a lower traffic time and grab a seat, it's the perfect spot to grab coffee and work. read more

Great Artisanal Coffee Shop located in a residential neighborhood in Long Beach on 4th st between Obispo and Temple. They have multiple locations within Long Beach. Small cozy interior space with limited seating. Very simple decor with blue walls, white ceilings, terra cotta floor tiling, wooden tables and chairs, pendants with lighting that is comfortable on the eye and floor to ceiling windows. Making this Space very warm and inviting. There is sidewalk seating as well with wooden tables, chairs and some benches separated by potted olive trees, all designed in a way that is welcoming and conducive to socializing. However, the best part is definitely their menu with specialty coffees and herbal teas such as the "Caramel Miso Latté" or the "Yuzu espresso Tonic" as well as lots of great herbal teas. I had the Caramel Miso Latté over ice, with Oat milk. It is a very tasty blend that has the perfect amount of sweet and is absolutely delicious. My cousin had a Mocha latté which he also loved. They also have a small case with yummy daily pastries. The Baristas are super friendly and helpful. The service overall is excellent and prices are average. $20 for 2 coffee blends and a good size pastry (not including tip). My wife and I stopped into one of our favorite little coffee shops in Long Beach. I decided on the Miso Cappuccino 1/2 sweet. She had an iced mocha. Both drinks were great. Loved the ribbed glass they put the iced Mocha in. It wasn't too crowded which was nice and the music was vibing. Oh! And the baristas were super chill. That's always a plus. A couple weeks ago, my friend and I ventured here to try their coffee. I love that Rose Parks has a coffee flight option, so we were able to try a vanilla late and also a caramel miso latte. I had ordered both of these hot with oatmilk. Personally, I love a vanilla latte, and this was definitely above average. I feel their caramel miso was smoother, but this is not usually a drink I would go for. The caramel miso latte is one of the shop's most popular lattes though. Ollie, the barista who helped us was incredibly kind, patient, welcoming, and even redid one of the drinks because something had tasted off with one of the lattes. I loved the warm and cozy environment this location has, and I believe a huge part of it is thanks to the Ollie. They're also a roastery, so I loved being able to enjoy using their beans at home, and it's become one of my favorites. I didn't know about Rose Parks being a roastery until I was there, since I don't tend to venture into Long Beach for coffee until I heard the city is actually quite known for their coffee. I enjoyed the coffee beans from this place the most! The shop is clean with nice, natural lighting. Parking definitely is tricky in this city though. read more

As a true coffee drinker, I avoid the sugary add-ons of big chains; I'm here for the flavor. I came in just hoping for a simple, good latte, and what I got was genuinely exceptional. This plain-jane latte was creamy, incredibly smooth, and had zero of that bitter or burnt taste you often find. After adding a couple of Splenda packets, I was set, it was coffee perfection. The foam art was also a precise, lovely touch that didn't go unnoticed. My only critique is the missed opportunity with the space. I was expecting a cozy, "Cali crunchy" spot where you could settle in, but the interior has a lot of empty space and lacks creative decor. It feels very minimalist, just for coffee and that's it. However, the quality of what's in the cup makes this spot a real treasure. I will absolutely be back for the amazing coffee. read more

The barista topped it off with a nice design and zested the foam with orange peels. It's absolutely delicious! Such a great local coffee shop! The drinks are delicious - I always get the iced chai, which is my personal favorite (right next to matcha). The space has a modern, earthy vibe. I love rose park roasters ! I've been making my own coffee at home with my lil espresso machine but when I'm in the area as I live my north Long Beach I always stop here for their mocha AND to stock up on my coffee beans ! They are always so nice and grind them up perfectly ! Everyone in here is super nice as well and have my coffee exactly how I want it ! It is smack right on 4th so you already know parking is a bust but I always luck out and get parking up front . Oh and their chocolate banana bread SO GOOD ! The first time we came it was great. Nice atmosphere, great coffee, cute little heart flourish on my coffee. Next time we came coffee was semi warm, not near as tasty and barista seemed a bit rude. Now I'm pretty much done with this place. Baristas are rude, bored, and the atmosphere has gone downhill. I can never find parking but once you do it is worth it. Small inside so not a hang out coffee shop per se, but has a few tables outside as well. It can get busy in there so there tends to be a small wait. The staff is always friendly and the coffee hits the spot. My coworker recommended me this place and it's been on my radar for awhile as a barista myself. I liked the setup itself how the seating is outside and the interior wasn't overwhelming when you walk in because sometimes coffee places try to over decorate. I'm a maximalist myself but sometimes with such small places it can be overwhelming lol. While I didn't have the chance to try any food yet (it looked good!) I got to try the Lavender Maple Latte and it was delicious! I'm picky about the flavor of my beans and it wasn't over roasted at all or pulled sour. I'm done with Rose Park. I've gone there for years because of their coffee and baked goods. All consistently excellent. All the while dealing with their consistently poor, unfriendly (and often downright surly) customer service. The downtown and Pine Ave locations seems to be the worst offenders. The one on 4th, less so. Stopped by this morning for a Lavender in the Fog. It was pretty busy because there's a conference in town at the convention center. As I waited, I watched one barista interact quite rudely with multiple customers. None of the customers were rude. All were ordering and waiting patiently and politely. As my order was called, I noticed another woman step up as well. It seemed we may have both ordered the same drink and we weren't sure who this order was for. I asked for clarification, and the rude barista snapped at me. I explained that there were two of us with seemingly the same order. The other barista (much nicer) confirmed who the drink was for. This is not the first time I've run into something like this at Rose Park, and frankly I'm over it. I don't know what the issue is or why this continues to happen, but it needs to be addressed. There were some rushes of people on this weekend morning but it only came in waves. Caramel Miso: Maybe get? It's almost like a spin on salted caramel so if you're into that flavor this is worth a sip. However, the umami of the miso can catch you off guard if you're not ready for it.
