    10/10 for the food
    Cindy S.

Cute, old feel library and coffee shop with limited parking in the back. Beautiful art on walls and decor. Definitely gives grandmas house. Service was great everyone seemed nice and my food was ready quick. I got a sandwich 10/10 and the matcha 10/10. I would come back here. My only concern is ... the lack of cleanliness and maintenance. I arrived around 7 am and there was trash on the floor from the day before all around the place. Restroom also smells really bad and seems like it may need a deep cleaning see images of food and trash on floor. Also homeless people outside but I guess that's a normal thing now.

    Two poorly made, pretty lattes.

Visited for the first time this morning. The ambiance looks cool; the library theme is distinctive. I ordered two lattes to go: one Spanish and one vanilla. The attendant taking my order was fine. Not rude, not welcoming. Just fine. The barista who made the drinks announced them out loud and just left them on the bar, kind of like what you'd expect at Starbucks, but not at your local neighborhood coffee shop. Overall, I think the staff could use some customer service training. The coffee is what mostly warrants the poor review. I got my order to go, and didn't try one of the drinks beforehand. My Spanish latte, which I tried in the cafe, was mid. Too sweet and with an odd aftertaste. The vanilla latte, which my partner tried once I was home, had a horribly bitter and smokey aftertaste. It was horrible. We had to throw it out. The coffee itself was not high quality and adding all the other stuff just made it worse. It's surprising that a coffee shop could serve such bad coffee. This place has such great potential! If they'd just focus on making a few drinks really well and did away with the poor quality food, they'd be a standout.

We traveled from Northern California to baby sit our grandkids here in Long Beach. While taking our walks around the neighborhood and we found this place that's very comfortable for the kids to relax but especially for us wanting coffee and tea. Plus they serve everything from bagels, croissants, sandwiches, desserts, etc. Place is spacious indoors. The staffers all were very nice and accommodating to the grandchildren. We ordered coffee and some sandwiches and very good! We truly appreciated the kindness of the staff and enjoyed the coffee/tea and food. We will definitely come here again on on our visit to Long Beach and recommend them to our family/friends. John, Thank you the reply! Please tell the staff who provided the banana to our grandson! She so sweet! We where there this morning 9:36am.

Never knew that this beautiful charming Coffee place existed in this area. From the outside, it looked like they weren't busy, once we walked inside it was a different world, it was comfortable, with many double chairs per table.it was two sides and I could not believe every table was taken, One table had a board game, another had, school work papers, and even a card game was being played. The Library is well decorated, inviting comfy tanles with nice chairs. All the televisions had a running theme of fireplaces with wood burning which added to the nostalgia. We will be back as this is one of the best coffee shops we have been to. Thank you

If you love coffee, books, and a vintage, cozy, vibe, then The Library is just for you. It was love at first sight the first time I walked in here. I have been here so many times since it's walking distance from home. I would never study or do work here because I'm old school and I need near complete silence to focus. I don't know what time people arrive to grab a spot to work or do school work, but tables can be completely full by 10 or 11. There are two rooms, they're both equally charming. There are large TV screens playing cozy music. The service is good, I don't know if it's the owner I've encountered a few times but this gentleman is extremely kind and accommodating. The second room is my favorite, it's like a cafe within a library. You walk in and everyone is working at a table. Tons of vintage books line the bookshelves. The tapestry on the benches looks vintage. I'm in love with their Vanilla Goddess iced latte. They have a variety of breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. I'm honestly so happy that a place like The Library exists in my neighborhood.

First of all, I'd just gotten a tatt at my spot and all I wanted was to grab a quick little meal before my trek down to San Diego It was such a weird night where my normal spot was out of food, no drive thru's, and I was about to leave LBC hangry when I drove by this beautiful Oasis called Library Coffee. "They're probably closing," I thought bitterly and alas; they were fully open on an Easter night, well lit, gorgeous place, with fresh healthy food and baked delicacies that reminded me of Crave Cafe in Sherman Oaks. Students studying on their laptops, books galore, beautiful lighting, I was so happy to find this spot in LBC. Wow. I got the dolma and a chocolate dessert to go. I want to go back and enjoy it a lot more. For it being a holiday, you wouldn't even know by the service. The baristas seemed to enjoy what they do and had a passion for their customers. They deserve a raise. Seriously, thank you for restoring my faith on a late night!!

Lots of food and drink choices!

I love what the newish owners have done with this local, beloved coffee shop! Every time I stop in, the shop looks better organized and beautifully decorated. I have been coming here since it first opened....i think over 30 years ago now. The coffee is great! There are lots of tasty food options. The staff is friendly and diligent. Highly recommend!!!

Tried The Library this past Friday morning. I've seen it a few times while driving around LB and I've been curious about it. I don't know if it's just a morning or if it's an all day thing, but they were really full inside. I ended up sitting outside since the inside was so full, but luckily outside has a nice little view. I ordered a small cappuccino with a little bit of cherry syrup. It was decent, not the best espresso out there but I would come here again and get a latte instead and maybe try one of their other flavors (though the cherry was good). Customer service wasn't bad, you could just tell they were pretty busy. I didn't try a pastry this time but I'd love to come back later in the day sometime. I love that this place is open both early and late. Sometimes it's nice to have your coffee at the crack of dawn before everybody's awake, and other times I get a hankering later at night for some coffee. Important to note this seems be a hot spot for remote working/studying.

I loooove this cafe for working and or studying. I am originally Persian and we have a huge cafe culture in Tehran. People go to cafes to hangout and or work. This place reminded me of a few places I used to be a regular at in Tehran. It is a nice and clean place with a lot of character. I ordered their panini and coffee and well as salad in my few visits and would recommend it. Although a note would be that the romaine leaves in the Chicken salad didn't look thoroughly washed and the staff need to pay more attention to this matter.

This coffee shop gives me Central Perk Friends vibes! The decor really makes you feel like it's a library. It is definitely a popular spot to study, hang out, do work etc. There's a good amount of seating, but most of the time they're all taken especially if you don't come early. I like to stop by on my morning walk to the beach. They have a large variety of drinks and pastries. If you want a strong coffee try their Turkish coffee! If you want something sweet, try one of their bars like the peanut butter blondie.

I arrived around 3:30pm and all of the tables were full of folks working in laptops, reading, or chatting with friends, but by the time I was done ordering a table opened up. Lots of options for food and coffee and both were delicious, and the ambiance was mellow and calm. I'd definitely recommend this though I could see it being too busy for some.

"Upon entering, I was greeted with warm smiles from Lauren. I chose to do a photo shoot at the amazing coffee shop and eatery. I discovered this gem while browsing Yelp for nearby spots, and since it was only four miles away, here I am! The place is very clean and quiet, with decor and lighting that are just perfect. I decided to try the shamrock --definitely a must! I was craving avocado toast, but since they didn't offer it due to my aversion to bacon, I opted for a croissant sandwich and a lemon tart instead. Now, the lemon tart? Definitely a winner--4/5! The sandwich was satisfactory at 3/5 (after all, it's just a sandwich), and I'd give the Leprechaun a solid 4/5. I can't wait to come back!"

Medium vanilla mocha and egg and cheese toast. My picture doesn't do it justice :']
    Kayla C.

I'm here in Long Beach for college and I decided to check this place out for café figure drawing and also 'cause I like the occassional coffee treat. I was initially thinking of getting the Mexican mocha but it was unavailable, however I had plenty of other options from the expansive menu. I got a vanilla mocha and an egg and cheese toast. I'm nowhere near the level of a coffee connoisseur or anything like that, but the mocha was nice and rich. The egg and cheese toast was simple and delicious. I'm quite picky 'bout eggs and their texture, but the way they cooked the egg was so light and fluffy, I REALLY liked it! Atmosphere was lovely, it does feel like a cozy library inside. Lots of seating available, I was easily able to find a table to sit and draw. I think there was a large book club meeting when I went, and they were a bit loud but I actually liked the lively vibe they were adding. Wi-Fi was also easy to access! There was also Animal Crossing on the tvs, I liked that heheh. Probably enough yapping from me here, I definitely would go here again. I'd like to bring friends and family if our schedules ever overlapped :']

This review, however, is motivated out of my desire to offer major props to the young man - I think I overheard something like Sip? - working this morning. This guy was on his A game, multitasking and juggling multiple tasks with perceived ease and being pleasant and accommodating all at the same time. Great job! Your effort is noticed and appreciated. Thanks for that. Had it not been for this (and their delicious pastries), I'd give Cyclops a 3 - 4 stars because I have a real bone to pick with paying for a larger Americano and getting the same number of shots regardless. I don't like when businesses do that so that would have otherwise been a major ding for me.

I got a croissant and they warmed it up for me. It was flaky and good, but wow was it buttery! My fingers were covered in grease and i got it all over my laptop. Oops. I wish they had a bigger selection of pastries. I got there at around 11 and their case was pretty bare. Usually my go-to stop in Long Beach for coffee because it's super convenient to get to, but parking can be tough!

Lots of natural light, a fun photobooth, displays of small business products (keychains, cups, and even thrift clothes), and an abundance of seating. It's truly a workspace haven. Free wifi and lots of sockets to charge your laptop. As far as drinks and food. DON'T do what I did: - If you're excited to try the delicious looking breakfast sandwiches and burritos, DON'T arrive after 2pm. They stop serving food at this time. - Want to try the Tiramisu Latte? DON'T try to be healthy like me and sub almond milk instead of their oat milk soaked in lady fingers. Your drink will taste watery. Definitely will come back so I can get the full experience. Regardless, still a 5/5 for the awesome workspace and cold brew.

Coffee and breakfast burritos is my definition of a great time…read more This local coffee shop came to my rescue after a not-so-great morning. I ordered one of their seasonal beverages, a tiramisu latte. This latte was pretty much a dessert, and exactly what I needed to fix my morning blues. The only thing that could have elevated this experience would be a side of lady fingers for dipping purposes. The breakfast burrito came packed with crispy potatoes, plus, eggs, bell peppers, chipotle aioli, and cheddar. To be honest, I found this burrito to be lacking. It was about 90% potato and I'm pretty sure the aioli listed on the menu description was non-existent. While the food didn't blow me away, this place truly stands out due to its extra large interior seating area. It feels nearly impossible to find a coffee shop with enough tables in this newly WFH society. Good Time has got us covered, with plenty of seats and outlets for everyone.
