I never thought that this would happen, but a rat chewed a hole into my house! i literally was contemplating moving out until he was caught! I called Rose and the very next day a nice man, Brandon was at my house. He was very thorough inspected under the crawl space and every spot in my house. He even suggested I place my ring camera where he was convinced his favorite spot was. within 3 days Ben the rat was caught. During these uncertain times we had to get someone into our home to investigate an ant problem we were having. The Team at Rose was amazing. We talked about my concerns prior to hiring them. They ensured me their employees who have to interact with people inside their homes take every precaution necessary! They took payment over the phone and emailed me a receipt and schedule immediately after the call. Max (our tech) called and asked if he could come early. He gave me a time so I could move our children to a different floor of the house. He knocked when he arrived and had 2 masks on and gloves. He put booties on prior to coming in and kept a 6ft distance inside. He was as quick as he could be. Professional and courteous to all of us. When he had to move around the house he waited until we could move the kids to another area. It's not an easy time right now and Rose Pest Solutions was amazing! I called Rose Pest Solutions regarding rats that have burrowed themselves underneath my garage. My initial call left me with a positive impression as they promised to survey the yard, garage and surrounding areas as well as our house to make sure no rats were trying to get in. Well when the employee came I had none of that. He literally came in and threw a couple bait boxes down near the burrow holes and tried to call it a day within a matter of less than 5 minutes. I began to complain stating I already tried bait boxes and that they were useless as the rats were getting food from the alley. I did not pay this place $150 for simple bait boxes. He called his other co-worker and they came back a couple days later with some spray that literally did nothing. And that was the extent of the service. So I paid $150 for literally nothing. They tried to charge me $50 a month so they can simply come in and change a bait box. This was the worst pest control service I have ever experienced. Rose's will sell you on their quarterly service, but charge you monthly. However, they won't actually follow through on the quarterly visits. You have to call and make an appointment. When the technicians come out, they are professional and courteous. However, the billing process is not acceptable. I would caution any commitment to their subscription service. read more

We live on the ground floor of an older building and recently adopted two cats. Unfortunately, the cat food has attracted ants which in turn attracted house centipedes. Since it is slowly getting warmer we were worried that our ant/centipede problem would only get worse. I got in contact with Rose on Tuesday and they had a technician available to inspect and treat my home the next afternoon. Emil was great, he thoroughly sprayed the outside of my place around all the windows and anywhere else unwanted pests could enter. He then helped me move all my furniture so that he could spray along the baseboards in the entire place. He was very friendly, easy to talk to, and answered all my questions regarding indoor pesticide use around our cats. I appreciate how prompt and professional Emil and Rose Pest Solutions were in addressing my ant and centipede issue. read more

Our condo signed up for the rat management service (bait boxes). They were very responsive at the start of the process. Obviously they want you to subscribe on the annual plan. Be sure you have them add to the contract that you can stop at any time without penalty. This took some time to do and it seemed like they were reluctant to do it. We had rats basically living next to the bait boxes so I am not sure this solution works in all cases. When it came time to stop the process we wanted the key to be able to open the box to ensure there weren't any critters in the box and they refused to do this. They said the boxes were ours and it was our problem. Didn't seem very environmental to tell us to essentially throw the boxes away. I'd ask them up front to have a key to the box so you are able to inspect if needed. They seemed more concerned about collecting their monthly fee than solving our issue. We won't be returning. read more

Ideally, I'd like to give a 3.5 rating overall, but that is mainly because the representative I spoke with was terrible in terms of communication. However, the exterminator was exceptional. I found Rose Pest Solutions after googling because the prior exterminator I had found, never did anything and I still found bed bugs in my unit. I was in contact with Lisa who was the representative. She first came in to do an inspection. Communication overall was lacking and she was barely responsive to my emails. I had to continuously call her to ensure we were on the same page and to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. It took at least 2 weeks until an appointment was finally made. When the exterminator came in to do the first treatment, it was overall a good experience. He answered all of our questions that my roommates and I had, thoroughly told us what was to be expected, and how long the treatment should take. He gave us clear notes and tips in case we do see bed bugs after the first treatment and before the follow-up treatment. He confidently gave us answers we were looking for, and reassured that our bed bug problem was only a small one, and that we were lucky enough to catch it early before it was a severe infestation. Overall, the treatment was successful and we haven't seen a single bed bug after the follow-up treatment took place so kudos to the exterminator. After water main construction stirred up critters all along our block, we found a small roach scurrying in our sink! YIKES!!! Our apartment complex always uses RPS to deal with pest control and so they sent out a technician to come help with our issue. They never trivialize the situation and even though we only saw one, Emil still took the time to treat all over in our kitchen. He came in and treated the area and was out pretty quickly. I would give this place 5 stars, but I have to called for some help to the office because I was having problems with a Yelp voucher that I wanted to use and woman name Jackie was nasty she said I don't work for Yelp you need to call them. If you advertise on Yelp Rose need to train their employees to trouble shoot some of he basic issues like the one I have today. I couldn't print the voucher. We had them out to our house weeks ago and the cost of treatment was agreeable but they don't do the service when they come. You have to sign a contract which takes them about 3 weeks to prepare. We are still waiting and we now have 1,000's of ants in our house. We'd pay triple what they want to get them here for the treatment but they just won't come or follow through with the paperwork they say I have to sign before they will come back. I am finally going to call someone else tonight. We wasted three weeks and it was very frustrating. Their system is so antiquated. read more

We knew we had bed bugs: bites, blood dots, spotted a dead bug (that we foolishly threw out instead of keeping as evidence). But we couldn't find them. We got the free inspection from Rose Pest Solutions. The landlord was present for the inspection, since my partner and I were both working. Apparently, the technician checked our mattress, couldn't find the bugs, made no further efforts (though, our landlord didn't want anyone to find bed bugs because they didn't want to pay for treatment, so I'm sure they didn't press) and told our landlord (who relayed to us) that we should just wash our linens in hot water. In disbelief, we got a second opinion from Chicago Bed Bug Experts the next day. My partner was present. Ten minutes in, they found the bugs, in the bed frame. While Customer Service seemed professional and tried to be helpful, note that it seems Rose Pest Solutions is not allowed (?) to disclose an inspection's findings to you, the tenant, unless you were there. You will HAVE to talk to your landlord if you want to know what happened. read more

We bought a new house in Logan Square a few years ago, and signed up for the quarterly service from Rose Pest soon after. I hate bugs, so I figured a preventative approach would be best. I only planned on doing one spray session and just calling them when needed. However, I'm so glad that i signed up for the quarterly (~$450/year) since it covers anytime they come out when I have a problem with pests...mostly rats. Scheduling is easy and Steve always arrives in the 2 hour window, with a 30 min heads up that he's on the way. Of course, rats have been invading the yard and Steve has been great about coming out regularly to check on the traps even between the regular service dates. We've had two traps in the yard for a year and Steve comes out to refill the traps about every 5-6 weeks. Every time except this last all the gel poison has been gone. Steve has even stopped by to pick up a few dead ones in the yard. Can't beat that kind of service! Thanks Steve and Rose Pest! read more

I have used Rose a number of times with good success, but my bed bug problem was poorly handles and did not follow Chicago's guidelines re followup spraying. They did not get in to the condo unit for the followup and did not notify the board. In the 5 weeks without spraying it could have spread and become a bigger problem. No written report as well, not that I care,, but the city ordinance requires I keep track of it. Handling upset tenants/owners is a big part of this business, not just spraying the bugs. read more

Service was awful. The technician came and just look around the surface even after I told him where the rat might be given my dog was barking around that area. When I tried to cancel the service the wouldn't let me without charging me an additional $50 for an additional service needed. This is a scam, beware of the hidden charges they'll try to impose. The building I live in has bed bugs. Rose Pest Control was called by my landlord. The technician, Ray, came in and immediately said to me, "So you think you have bed bugs." I said that I did have bedbugs and he asked me how I knew that, so I told him I not only can see them but I had bites on my arms and face. He looks at my bed and says, "Yep, you have bed bugs." DUH. The first treatment he did was very thorough, although he didn't wear a mask or ventilate the room when he was spraying and he kept coughing throughout the treatment in that room. When he was leaving I asked when I could go back to work because being a nanny my employers don't want to take the risk of getting the bedbugs. Ray replied, "You shouldn't have told them about the bedbugs." Not a good representation of the company. The second and third treatments were not as through. The second treatment he rudely asked me if I had a drill to take the mattress slats off the bed. It would have been nice to have known about that at the first treatment so I could have rented one. I do not feel that I received the best service. After the third treatment I asked Ray what needs to happen next. He said nothing it is all done. I asked how do we know if the bed bugs are completely gone. He said, "You need to sleep in the bed and if you wake up with bites you still have bedbugs. NOPE! Also, at the first treatment he pulled my bed about six inches farther from the wall. It was already six inches from the wall. I had taken before, during, and after photos of my bed. After the third treatment Ray had pulled the bed again resulting in the footboard bowing in the middle, and separating from the frame. Neither he, nor my landlord mentioned it. There were some shady dealings going on between Ray and my landlord. Ray falsely representing Rose Pest Control by wearing his uniform while doing side Pest control jobs. Max, Ray's boss told all about what my landlord was not doing about the bedbugs that he needs to by law. When I called Max a couple of days later he was unavailable so I left a voicemail. I have called a couple more times and was told each time that he was unavailable and that they would send him a message. He has not replied to any of my messages. I then asked for his supervisor. I left a message for her, too. She has never returned any of my messages. When I called back twice she conveniently was nit available. I asked for the name and number of Lisa's boss and was told that there is no one above Lisa. I then asked for her email and was told that I already had a message for her from me. When I asked for corporates phone number the woman answering finally gave me Lisa's email. She did not want to give me corporates number. If you Google this company the reviews for this Chicago location are really bad and most mention no responses from the service manager (Max) or Lisa. Let's see if Lisa ignores my email, too. read more

Basically you are going to pay $200-$300 for someone to set a few cheap traps you could buy at Home Depot for like $12. We have used Rose twice for rats and ants. I can't speak to their experience with stuff like termites or bedbugs, maybe they provide more value there. But we spent hundreds of dollars for someone to just set basic traps. You might think that since you are hiring experts you're going to get something extra. You would be wrong. And you are paying a bunch of extra money for a "guarantee." What does the guarantee entail? Well they will come back and set more basic traps you can buy for a few dollars at Home Depot. At least for rats and ants, there is no magic solution you didn't think of. There wasn't some amazing insight or advice. Just cheap traps. Save your money, read an article or two online, do it yourself. read more

We have a backyard rat problem. Our backyard seems to be the rat superhighway for the entire neighborhood. Reading the Yelp reviews, we turned to Rose. The person who came out to do an assessment was very nice. We developed a plan where he would put down three traps and put glass into the holes. We paid $250 and were promised he would come back to re-stock the traps and to continue to put glass in the holes. However, after he came out to put out the traps, and put some glass and our own stones in the holes, we have never seen him again. The traps have not been refilled. I feel like we could have saved a lot of money by buying our own traps and putting our own stones in the holes. Not at all worth the money. EDIT-Was contacted by customer service a week ago in response to this post. They apologized and I was told they would look into this. Since that email we have received no follow-up. Downgraded to one star. I would stay away. read more

I just called Rose to start a home maintenance​ program because I noticed some spiders. The representative had issues with her phone from the beginning. Nevertheless, we got all the way up to scheduling and then she could not hear me anymore. We got disconnected, and I called back from my cell (first was the landline​), and the nastiest lady answered. She said,​ "I can't hear you, but now that I can I am trying to figure out why you are calling." In my mind I thought why in the world​ do you think I am calling. I then explained how the other lady was helping me and we got disconnected. She interrupted me and said,​ "Well I don't know why that happened, and I can't tell you, but I am trying to figure out what you need." I told her that there is something wrong with their phones, but I am not liking how she is talking to me, and I am going to go with someone else. All I got was "Have a good day."...click. I don't know who they hire or who Rose is, but these nasty ladies cost​ them new business. read more
