This was a great surprise because of the possibility to sit at their nice terrace or inside at that big communal table with a colorful Mexican oilcloth and enjoy the company of strangers that can become friends over a conversation and a glass of wine. I had a good time listening to the way the server was presenting the various bottles, he was great and looked like an actor, also the way he spoke, so the overall experience was somehow theatrical for me. I had walked by here a number of times over the years but, Never stopped in until which was Cinco de Mayo ..what a perfect time to have a refreshing libation. In all honesty, the happy, joyful smiling face lured me in. I asked him what beers he had on draft and went with a Mexican larger. It was light and very refreshing. This is usually our go to place in old town but today was disappointing. We asked about a beer and the person working said... it's what it sounds like. Okay? So we had to google it. Besides dismissing us we were left wondering and also the better than us snob working made us want to leave. We miss the old employee who was so kind! On Saturdays they open at 11.. right when we had our reservation. The staff quickly got our table ready. We had a combination of mimosa ($20) and wine ($15) flights. I believe all of the wines are local San Diego products, a lot come from around Ramona. I had a wine flight and loved each wine, my favorite being the moscato. I also sampled the blue sangria.. called blue because it is made with blueberries and not actually blue. Very good! My friends highly recommend the cucumber jalapeño mimosa as well.. everyone enjoyed their flights. The pours were standard. We celebrated a birthday and the staff (Colton) was generous enough to toast champagne with us! Colton was very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I wish i could give 0 stars because this was the worst experience and service i have ever had in my life. The man who was working the tasting counter with brown wavy-ish hair was so rude I ended my flight early. He rolled his eyes, was being overly sarcastic, told me that he's "not a mind reader" and can't suggest just any wine, then asked me a very specific question about Rose that the average person wouldn't know and when i said "i don't know" he made a face that was supposed to make me feel uncomfortable. What a cool little place in Old Town San Diego. They have about 8 beer on draft and wine tastings/flights and a lot of little items for sale. You can be served at the counter or you can go sit down in their glass indoor patio area. we came with our three dogs and they were fine with having us sit inside which was so awesome. The staff is friendly and the location is nestled right inside the main Courtyard area and you can hear live music playing in the middle.
