My wife and I went for the Weekend brunch (12-3) on a Sunday after church. I called ahead to make sure I did not need a reservation and there was no wait when we arrived. Parking is in the rear with free valet parking. The walk up is a relaxing one with a fountain and a gazebo sitting area before the entrance. When you walk in you feel as if you stepped back in time. We started with the Fried green tomatoes and lobster tower with remoulade sauce. Next the Butchers breakfast that was very filling and the Villa Benedict with a very light hollandaise sauce was delicious. They also have a great selection of teas you can choose from. Food is excellent & well presented. Portions are great. Menu offers a variety of options and price points to suit any guest. I recommend chicken n waffles. Shrimp n grits is also great as well as sea bass. Craft drinks are excellent but pricey unless it's hoppy hour. My favorite drink is served in a martini glass with a delectable liquid that's got a pinkish purple hue (shay something). Service is very friendly & conversational (everybody). Bathrooms are exquisite. I'm a plumber so I'm biased towards beautiful bathrooms . Antique style toilets and stained glass windows. Beautiful ceilings & tile make you feel like your in a boutique 5 star hotel. Well stocked with everything including Kleenex, mouthwash & toothpics. Great pics in the hallways of old Ormond. Took a friend to Rose Villa because she loves seafood and fried chicken. Our reservation was not found in their records, although made it thru open table, but a manager took control of the situation and found us a table in a room that was EMPTY! We waited about 20 mins for someone to come to our table and provide water. A server (Jessica) finally stopped by to say "she'd be with us in a minute and apologized for the delay!" Another 7 mins passed when she returned to answer a few questions and to take our drink order. Although she offered to "comp" our develed egg appetizer (she must have known the service was not up to par) we obliged! After waiting another 10 mins (now 30 mins since we were seated) she took our order, the deviled eggs were amazing. We placed our order and after another almost 40 mins our food came COLD. My friend started on her fried chicken plate as it was hot. When our dinners were returned the fish was warmer, but the clams, potatoes and other fillers were NOT. We were hungry by this point and just proceeded to eat what was in Front of us. My husband's bouillabaisse was full of potatoes, not much fish as the menus displayed. My grouper was good, but not great. No one bothered to check on us, see how the food turned out, we asked for our check and left this restaurant. I give it a 2out of 5, for these prices, the service and food should be exemplary. Disappointed, but not surprised. Too many other competitors in the area we can frequent our next visit. read more

Had the pleasure of having my birthday party at the new Rose Villa Southern Table and Bar. They were quite accommodating as we had a party of 28 and I only gave them a few days notice. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals and had nothing but great things to say. I really enjoyed the Deviled Eggs, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the Glazed Pork Chop. I also heard rave reviews about the Chilean Seabass. The hopefully soon to be added southern fried chicken we got to sample was amazing. Can't wait to try it again. First off, the staff are AMAZING. Super friendly and genuine to their customers! They actually knew an amazing amount of the history behind the building and the previous owner, Henry Flagler. Anyway, the staff is great, we had a party of twenty for a birthday party and our server was such a rockstar. We were there for FOUR hours and she didn't even break a sweat... anyone who has been in food and beverage before knows that it's like sudden death to have a party that long... and we all had her break up the checks too, and it literally took her two minutes to hand our bills and have our cards back to us. The food was pretty good! I loved my avocado toast, and I was kind of kicking myself for not ordering the salmon with salad because someone ordered that and it was a hefty portion of fish... anyway everyone's food looked good. Someone was complaining that their poached egg was "too runny" on their avocado toast... but, I mean, that's the whole point in my opinion of a poached egg (agree to disagree?) so definitely giving full stars for food since everyone but her was making yummy noises as they inhaled their food. My only suggestion or heads up for anyone going: this is very "tight" quarters... it's an old building with two bathrooms (literally two toilets), so older or less feeble people might have difficulties maneuvering themselves in the building. read more

UPDATE 10/30/16: I've been several times for dinner and brunch since I left my first review. They've streamlined and refined the menu and service has improved further. Their fried chicken is the best I've ever had. Desserts are fabulous. My favorite is the pecan pie. I went for brunch for the first time and I didn't want to leave. If I wasn't so full of goodness, I'd have stayed all day. They've added tables to the gazebo out back and it's a delightful place to sit and eat. I would go just to eat the biscuits with that sweet honey butter. Visited last night on the first night of Rose Villa's new southern-inspired menu. The food was delicious, one exception being the airline chicken breast which was a little dry (but I still ate it!). We tried the lobster Mac and cheese, the sea scallops, the pork chop, airline chicken breast, Kobe burger, and fried shrimp, along with bacon butterbeans and mashed potatoes as shared sides. Excellent cheesecake and satin-smooth pot de creme for dessert. Our server didn't seem very familiar with the menu, but as it was the very first night of serving it, we let that pass. He was attentive and friendly. I would suggest that sides be served with spoons, salads not be served until appetizers have been finished and cleared, and that dinner plates have been completely cleared prior to dessert and coffee orders taken. I am picky about service, but these are simple things that make a dining experience more enjoyable. Napkins under the cocktails and water glasses are needed. A weird complaint: the cream pitcher liked to run the cream down the side of the pitcher and onto the table rather than into the coffee cup. The atmosphere is lovely, a gorgeous and lovingly-restored Victorian house. As a lifelong Ormond Beach visitor, I delighted in the historical photos. Rose Villa is absolutely worth multiple visits, and will surely only continue to improve. The chef is clearly a treasure. read more
