My wife's experience with Dr. Wei Li for her breast reconstruction surgery has been nothing short of stellar. From the initial consultation through the post-op visits, Dr. Li and her team have shown their skill and compassion. When City of Hope tried to stick us with a less-experienced surgeon (who was a hand-specialist no less), it became clear to us that we needed to find a different surgeon-someone who is an expert at breast reconstruction. This was harder than it would seem as it felt like other surgeons' goals were to do some minimal reconstruction and send my wife on her way. At the other end of the spectrum we found a lot of surgeons who had great experience at cosmetic breast enlargements but who had almost no reconstruction experience. Dr. Li was referred to me by the breast surgeon who did my double mastectomy. Dr. Li to the rescue! After other surgeons performed two botched breast reconstructions following a mastectomy, I consulted with nurse Tracey and Dr. Li. Both went above and beyond to put me at ease and reassure me that they could help. They worked with my insurance company for pre-surgery approval and scheduled my revision in a facility that accepted my coverage. To my surprise, Dr. Li even called me the night before the surgery to answer any last minute questions and concerns. The surgery went very well and corrected the previous asymmetry. They have continued to check in with me frequently and made me feel supported and cared for. I have had a wonderful experience and results with Dr. Wai-Yee Li. I used Dr. Li for a breast reduction and she listened carefully to understand my preference for size.
