Back here after few years and still like the food. But service was very slow this time.

We came here for brunch on a Saturday and were seated without a reservation with no wait. There were several different seating areas (outdoors, indoors in the train car, and fully indoors at the bar or tables) and we got seated in the cutely decorated diner-themed train car. We got the butter chicken eggs benedict and the make-your-own omelette. Both were prepared well and the home fried were a fun fusion of Indian flavors with brunch foods. I would come back again to try more menu items!

Food was really good! It was a fun American Indian breakfast fusion and the actual restaurant was super cute inside and out. We got the avocado toast that had this delicious chili crisp and the chicken and waffles. So so good.

Came in for drinks and snacks on a rainy night when nearly no one else was at the joint. The diner turned gastropub type environment was very cool and decor inside is nice. Had lovely conversations with the owner Ronak and his service was impeccable. Drinks were phenomenal ranging from lychee, mango and cucumber. Freshly topped and well balanced flavors. Concepts of dishes were all very fun and while we didn't dive very deep into the menu what we tried was decent, more on the average sphere.

Rosebud is kind of weird - the menu is a mashup of Indian-American fusion and the setting is a classic diner with old style decor and boardgames available for weekday use. It's an odd form of eclectic, but it's amazing. I've been for brunch and dinner since the new management took over and I think they've made great upgrades! I really like the Indian flavor profiles overlaid onto American classics. I recommend the Kerala Fried Chicken and Waffles for brunch. I also liked the Chana Kati Roll with chicken I got for dinner. A standout for me was the Dirty Chai Martini - a delicious, creamy coffee martini with Chai flavors. The Showstopper was also tasty, though a tad too sweet for my personal liking. But overall, the cocktails were a pleasant surprise. The only con would be the slightly slow service. But they were very friendly and definitely not something that would stop me from going back.

    Tacos - very good

Popped in for lunch and got some very tasty tacos with unique flavors! Service was fast. The only bummer was that I originally wanted to order their French toast but they didn't have real maple syrup. Would check them out again.

4.5 stars! Yum! This place had cool ambience. They had games on the wall you could borrow as well! In terms of food-- delicious! We got a smorgasbord of things, and didn't have a bad dish! The standout favorite was the Bhel Puri Chat. Holy moly! This dish, recommended by our waiter, blew us away!!! Crunchy, sweet, salty, and fresh!!! The burger was also one of our top dishes as well. In terms of drinks, the Bombay to Boston was delightful! A cool take on an old fashioned! Overall, we really liked this place! Recommend!!

After trying and failing to come by a previous weekend, I came on a random weekday! Such a fun diner vibe with delicious fusion food. The menu is extensive- many options. We shared the onion pakora, which was crispy and not too greasy, with a good amount of seasoning. I got the hot dog duet- and it satisfied my craving. It came with fries (I got spicy) which were delicious, and everyone loved them! The butter chicken pot pie had tender chicken and was pretty tasty, though could've used a bit more flavor. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious as well. Our server was friendly, and everything came out quickly. Plus the ambiance in the restaurant is very fun and also cozy! We all agreed that we must come back!!

Diner / Indian fusion cuisine. My daughter really likes it but it was a bit spicy for me. I will go again to try another dish. The pie looks really good! Service was good, but it was too hot inside. The air conditioner was struggling! Maybe don't go during a heat wave.

Dining method: Sat at the bar Item(s) ordered: Friends in Hi-biscus Places, Summer Street, slaw salad Value: Drink prices can't be beat! The Review: If you're looking for a cozy-yet-intriguing spot to have a drink or a bite, Rosebud is the one! This place is Indian-diner fusion and frankly...it's awesome. In an area of Somerville where "funky" isn't a descriptor, Rosebud fills the gap. The front half is a converted trailer, which connects into a more standard building behind it, with tons of space and seating. The staff were incredibly cool and the owner was sure to chat with his customers. He even gave me some salad to made sure I had something to eat, since the small plates weren't gluten-free (they are for brunch). I can attest--all good vibes in the Rosebud. Will absolutely go there again when I'm in Davis. This time, hopefully will catch brunch and the tikka masala tots. Gluten-free note: They didn't have gluten-free snack options at the time, but there were sandwich entrées available! Tots and other fried foods are gluten-free by ingredients. Fryer seems to be clean for brunch but after that, there is cross-contamination. The owner/staff are super knowledgeable and protected me at all costs.

Such a unique restaurant located in Somerville, just outside Boston. The restaurant is set up in a box-car of sorts and offers traditional American cooking. Brunch was very well done here and had an expansive food and drink menu. If you're in the Somerville area, I highly recommend

French Toast with Berries ($15 + $3 berries)
    Tuli S.

Amazing dirty chai martini! This was my first time here since new ownership. The menu has a lot of diner items like before but with an Indian flair. My friend and I both ordered breakfast for dinner. I had the French toast with berries & and she had the waffle with 2 eggs. The French toast was delicious, I loved the extra spice (cardamom/cinnamon). Service was great and we were both very happy with our meals & cocktails. I will definitely come back and try their dinner items. The fried chicken we saw other people eating looked so good!!

$10 for a mango lassi that isn't even an 8oz pour?? I don't mean to start my review this way, but that's overpriced. Don't get me wrong, it was a great lassi, but I'll end up going for a cocktail instead, next time. Looks like ownership has changed since the last time I've been here. I used to come all the time -- we'd get pie & a bottle of wine. The pie is still there, which is great to see. Definitely recommend that. There are a lot of seating options, you've got booths, bar, and seating in the cart. I got to give a warning, this place is cold. I'm not sure what the insulation situation is, and I get cold pretty easily, so I'd suggest bringing a jacket if you're like me. If you're warm-blooded, you'll be fine lol. The menu now is a fusion between diner & Indian. I got the Goan omelette which was really great. Loved the spices in the gravy. 4 of my friends got the chicken and waffles, they all raved about how good it was. The portion was hefty. There's also a chai martini that I'd recommend - If you like espresso martini's black, you'll probably like the chai martini. Overall, the changes at Rosebud were a nice surprise. Side notes, it is conveniently located in Davis square and accessible by the red line.

The staff really stood out, especially our server Sarah, who was warm, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk us through both the food and cocktail options without rushing us. As an extra touch, Chef Steve came out to our table to chat and describe a few of the dishes, which made the experience feel personal. Food highlights: * Firecracker tofu - perfectly fried cubes tossed in a hot-sweet Korean-style sauce; addictive. * Grilled broccoli - smoky, well-seasoned * Butternut squash soup - smooth and flavorful, elevated by roasted, ground squash seeds and a subtle curry note. * Polenta with short ribs - rich and balanced. * Smoked bluefish pâté - excellent texture though a little salty for my taste. Drinks: * Also Fancy - bright and fruity, but not overly sweet. * St. Peter's Bay - think mezcal meets Old Fashioned. * Bonus points: I asked for a custom gin gimlet, and the bartender delivered a fresh, mint-forward version that was amazing. It was such a cute hidden area, and I was already excited before we even got to the place. We headed upstairs into the bar, and the vibe was perfect. I ordered the Elly the Elephant and my friend got the Laughing Gull, and we both really enjoyed our drinks. One thing I thought was really nice is that they allow you to grab food from the surrounding restaurants and bring it in to eat there. We didn't end up doing that, but we did get the charcuterie board they had. It came with cheeses, crackers, and some fruit, and you can add meats for $10, which we opted out for. I will say I was a little disappointed by the fruit portion. The menu mentioned fresh fruit, so I expected more than three thin orange slices and one sliced strawberry. HOWEVER, when I asked for more strawberries, our waiter kindly brought out a whole bowl for me, which I really appreciated. We stayed for about two hours, and as the night went on the place definitely got more crowded, so we headed out. Overall, this is such a cute and cozy cocktail bar. I'll definitely be back when the weather is warmer to try the other drinks and restaurants in the market.
