Chicken Milanese- absolutely HUGE, enough for 3

Great authentic italian server, he was loud attentive and knowledgeable. Food was EXTREMELY quick, pretty bland but to be fair we didnt order anything too flavorful. Nice $9 side of pasta which was perfect amount for a 9 yr old kiddo.

Been wanting to try this place for a long time! Finally got a chance to go last week and it was a good experience. The bucatini cacio e pepe was very very under salted unfortunately but the rigatoni alla vodka was nice. The stars of the show, however, were the garlic knots and the chocolate cake! The garlic knots were some of the best I've tried. The service was very friendly and the food came out very quickly. If you want to spend a good amount of time there, take your time to order! We sat in the covered outside portion but it was really nice with the breeze!

Food was excellent, but I just cannot get over the loud slamming of dishes from the waitstaff. We sat inside the covered area facing the street and towards The Peninsula. Every time a table was cleared the wait staff would just slammed LOUD I mean LOUD the dishes on the bucket trays and it was so annoying. Next time I would absolutely not sit outside and definitely not next to the place where they place the dirty dishes. Food was great and service was attentive so we will definitely be back.

Needed a sweet treat and Rosebud definitely delivered! The chocolate cake was hands down one of the best I've ever had--rich, moist, and absolutely delicious. Didn't try the food this time, but based on that dessert alone, I'll definitely be back to check out the full menu next time!

Rosebud is a solid choice for classic, traditional Italian food in the city. I made a reservation for 3 and even though we arrived 20 minutes early, we were seated right away. The tables are close together as someone else said and it can be noisy (we were seated next to a very large party) yet service by Jaime was excellent. He had a great sense of humor and was very attentive. We enjoyed the bread basket but still ordered the garlic knots. The two pasta entrees we ordered were not huge portions but they were very good. My chicken Milanese WAS huge! I thought $39 was a bit steep compared to the pasta dishes but I got a lot of food with plenty to take home. Adding one glass of a delicious rose wine and a hunk of their amazing double chocolate cake (highly recommend!) came to about $200 for the 3 of us so we wouldn't do it every day, but it was a nice meal out.

We came here for a business dinner while we were all in the area for meetings. We made reservations and it was a good thing as they were pretty busy. They sat us at a nice table downstairs and our server was great! Very engaging, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu here is outstanding! Soooo many interesting, unique, and delicious sounding options! Then the specials were equally as great too! Since the menu had so many great options and so did their dessert menu - we chose to skip appetizers, soup, or salad and get nice entrées and save room for dessert! Their wine list was great as well and I found an absolute winner with their Banshee cab! For an entrée I had such a hard time deciding. I can tell you that everything everyone else in our party got looked amazing and they all said tasted great. For me, I chose their Arriabbiata Cavatelli "8 Finger" pasta, but I asked for their breaded chicken to be add to it. After our server described the breaded chicken used for the chicken parm, I wanted this, but didn't want chicken parm. My dish came out perfectly and exactly the way I wanted and it tasted amazing! The slight spiciness of the pasta sauce was great and the amazing texture of the homemade pasta was excellent! Then, add to that their outstanding chicken and it made for an incredible entrée!!! Save room for dessert here because they have some great options! All desserts are made in-house too!! I wanted their banana cream pie and it was great! Their coconut cake was incredibly huge!! Again, I can't say enough about the experience, the food, the menu - Definitely worth a try!

Rosebud on Rush is an upscale Italian restaurant group in Chicago that's warm, welcoming, delicious, and epitomizes what Chicago is. There are multiple locations, and Rosebud on Rush was the first stop in my Chicago family reunion/food tour and set us up for a great time. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Rosebud on Rush is an inner-city restaurant you see in movies. It's busy, dimly lit, full of customers and energy, and feels like it's been here for years. While the Chicago night was cold and rainy, Rosebud was warm and welcoming. Each table had clean, thick white table clothes and perfectly matched settings. We sat in the second-floor dining area. 1 Star. Service - Not only was service good, but it also seemed like we had an army of servers helping our table. Each had their own role, which they handled with precision and care. As soon as a new dish came out, they would take our dirty plates. If I needed something, it was taken care of. I even came from the airport, and the Rosebud staff stowed our luggage while we dined. 1 Star. Food - We ordered a number of appetizers for the table, but the most memorable for me was the Caprese Salad. With the colors of the Italian flag, the fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato was a cool palette cleanser for my main meal. I chose the Bone-In Chicken Vesuvio style. The chicken breasts were pounded thin and sat in a delightful garlic and lemon broth. Four large potato wedges surrounded by the tender, flavorful chicken. The potato wedges were made to be eaten with the delicious broth. It was one of the best dishes I've had at an Italian restaurant. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. There are multiple locations, but I plan on returning to this location because it's conveniently close to the Magnificent Mile. 1 Star.

The food is fine and I got veal Parmesan with a side dish of pasta. We had the tiramisu for dessert. Service is okay, we got check in couple times through out the dinner.

Amazing Italian food! I am so glad we came here. The staff was great and all worked together really well, which was so nice to see and kept things running smoothly. Highly recommend!

Came across Rosebud from a Google such of a brunch spot in the area. I ordered the hobo skillet (not a fan of the entree name) and my friend ordered the huevos rancheros (at an Italian restaurant SMH). The skillet is beautifully prepared but had no seasoning; salt and pepper is a must. The huevos rancheros was deconstructed...they over poured verde sauce on a tortilla shell which made it soggy at first bite. She didn't finish it. I won't be a return a customer.

Fantastic meal and outstanding service! I had a wonderful experience at Rosebud on Rush. Our waitress, Angela, was absolutely amazing -- warm, attentive, and truly made us feel welcomed. Exceptional service can elevate a meal, and Angela did exactly that. We really appreciated her! I ordered the medallions cooked "chef's choice", and they were perfection. Tender, flavorful, and literally melt-in-your-mouth delicious. One of the best steak preparations I've had in a long time. The atmosphere was classic and inviting, and the entire experience felt like a treat from start to finish. If you're looking for great food paired with exceptional service, Rosebud on Rush is the place -- and definitely ask for Angela!

I hadn't been to Rosebuds in a few years, but tonight's dinner was very disappointing. The last I remembered, there was a piano player in the basement for a very intimate atmosphere. Dining there tonight was anything but intimate. There's no longer a piano player but there are now TV's playing college football. The vibe of the restaurant has changed so much. The food was fine but nothing spectacular. Our server was good and told us how things have changed over the years. This was certainly not the anniversary dinner I was hoping for.

Wow we had a DELICIOUS meal and wonderful time at Rosebud for our anniversary! Jaime, our server, was exceptional who offers excellent recommendations and ensures prompt service. I ordered the chicken parm and asked for his advice on pairing it with pasta and wine. He suggested vodka pasta and The Prisoner Cabernet, and the combination was absolutely wonderful. He also recommended Cacio e Pepe with shrimp which was also wonderful! He also highly recommended the banana cream pie with pistachio ice cream and it was also absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant, Jamie's recommendations, and requesting him as your server. We will be thinking about this meal for a long time! Thank you Jamie!

We ordered the venison burger and, honestly, I was hesitant at first because I was worried it might be too gamey. However, our server did a great job explaining what to expect, and she was absolutely right. The venison patty was juicy, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal. They also have an impressive selection of signature cocktails. I didn't end up trying one because the drink I was interested in sounded a bit too strong for lunch, but it's definitely given me a reason to come back later for drinks. Overall, I left as a very happy customer and would gladly return.

After we sat down, our server took her sweet time getting to us and was largely absent the entire visit while the servers for the others tables were attentive and present as I've come to expect. We started with the Crispy Brussels and Burrata Toast which was an amazing and fun combination of flavors textures with the sherry glaze and pickled onions providing a perfect counter to the richness of the cheese. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.

Recently, my husband and I celebrated the anniversary of the day we met. We don't always mark the…read moreoccasion, but this year it was a milestone worth celebrating. We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.
