I love Roselle Animal Hospital. Last year, my then 2 year old dog began his chronic illness of (suspected) irritable bowel disease & it was very stressful. We were back & forth to the vet trying to find something that would help him feel better & we eventually did! Since then, my dog Vinnie comes bi-weekly for his B12 injection, he's got his prescription diet, his probiotic & no more stomach pains or diarrhea! The staff & Dr. Zink have taken their time to personally know Vinnie & even sent me a holiday cardVinnie even gets excited to go to his bi-weekly appointment. Recently, he developed a lump on his leg & is currently recovering wonderfully from his lump removal. They call with updates & are always friendly. They really make us feel safe & I can trust them with my pets! I'm so glad I found this vet. Prices are cheap as well. read more

Very good service. Staff is very pleasant, seem competent, and seem to really like animals. Rates are about same as you would pay anywhere (I took 2 senior cats in for a general check-up and urinalysis and complete blood panel with about 80 different tests and it was about $350 per cat for the whole thing). Got back to me with test results when they said they would with a good explanation from Dr. Zink. Main thing I like is they didn't try and sell me services the cats didn't need or "upsell" me on anything; all costs laid out upfront and no unpleasant surprises. Have found my vet after trying several others I didn't like. read more

They were accommodating, sweet and understanding. Let's talk value... Half off every vaccine on Wednesdays. You can't beat that! More moolah for treats . The place smells like other dogs but I got used to it. A huge waiting room and a play area for the pups... Awesome place! Will definitely come back next year for the yearly check up and vaccines. He is absolutely an excellent vet and the only vet I trust to sedate and/or perform surgery or dentals on my cats. He is truly a genuine veterinarian who cares about his clients and patients. If I could rate Roselle Animal Hospital the staff and doctors 500 stars I would. We switched to Roselle Animal Hospital a few years ago after some not so great experiences at another local vet. My dog has allergies which resulted in a bad ear infection. Our last vet had recommended laser ear therapy treatments at $100 a session, for one month with NO progress. Feeling uncomfortable with the care (not to mention he's in pain) I decided to try Roselle praying for a better answer. The doctors at Roselle figured out the issue and corrected the problem with medication and a change of food, he was doing better in 2 weeks!!!! I can't begin to express how grateful I am for the fantastic care they contuine to give my dog. They care about my furry child like he was their own. I took my 19+ yr. old cat in yesterday as she wasn't feeling well plus she was due for a checkup (she's been a patient here since last year). The vet tech Linda, treated my cat with great care. When it came time to giving my cat fluids due to her being slightly dehydrated, I was shown how to administer the fluids in case I choose to do it myself in the future. That's a great option. Dr. Zink did an excellent job in explaining the different options available to treat my cat. I found the prices to be reasonable and I plan on taking my cat back for further treatment. It's been less than 48 hrs. since my visit to the vet and my cat has responded well to the treatment and is back to her old self. Thank you Roselle Animal Hospital for the excellent care! read more

We have moved to area recently and took our little Cat in for an eye infection. Not only were they supremely gentle with our timid cat they clipped her nails for us with ease to her. Her eye is doing really well and they even called to follow up on how she is doing! We will be bringing in our other cat in soon just for check up and hopefully a new puppy soon as we did not have a good experience with one we were fostering through a rescue recently :(. They seem to really care about the people and animals they treat.So far so good at our new family vet! **Update***not sure what happened here in last 6 months or so but the care we received with our pup recently was not like the service we have got before.Not only did she get gravely ill after our annual shots appointment, but they did not return our calls about her health forcing us to go to an emergency vet to save her life. Maybe they are busier than ever or have less staff but we literally had to beg to speak to vet about our baby and that is just not right. We are saddened by this with such a former good experiences with our cats and dogs annual appts, but after this experience we will not be back with any of our animals. read more

People forget many things , but they never forget how people made them feel . The receptionist was very nice on the phone, but when I arrived the Staff was unprofessional, rude, and condescending. My dog that has lived with me for many years was facing surgery. That alone was very upsetting. The staff seemed uncompassionate . I brought my rescue dog here for surgery to remove a tumor. I had no choice in vets because the rescue was paying. I was very happy with the treatment she got here. Dr. Zink and his staff showed a lot of concern about my dog. I called in a panic during her recovery,and they were very reassuring but offered to see her right away if I wanted to bring her in. I've heard great things about the training classes offered at the facility. I would definitely recommend Dr. Zink fo a friend looking for a vet. 12/15/18-I am updating this review sadly because I really liked Dr. Zink and his staff, but in hindsight I think my dog should have received better care. I wrote this review right after the surgery, but I have learned a lot since then about my dog's medical history and by contrasting the treatment she has received at her current vet. A big part of the problem is that she was a rescue. She had come to a shelter as a stray with no medical records. Dr. Zink assumed she was spayed and did not check when he operated on her to remove a large breast tumor. After she recovered from surgery, I adopted her and took her to a vet in my town. Dr. ZInk had told me her tumor was malignant and recommended chemo, but I wanted another opinion and more information about her condition. Out new vet did a very thorough exam including an ultrasound, which showed her cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. The ultrasound also showed she wasn't spayed. The vet said it was bad that she wasn't spayed because female hormones promote mammary cancer growth. I asked if spaying her now would help, and he said in his opinion it was too late because she probably already had microscopic cancer throughout her body. He said the cancer could flare up in a major organ at any time. He consulted with an oncologist at a major vet school, who reviewed all her records and said there is no effective chemo for the type of cancer she has. I was relieved I had not taken Dr. Zink's recommendation about chemo. He recommended comfort care and no further surgery. Since we adopted our dog, she has suffered through a false pregnancy which caused her to lactate, and she developed mastitis, a breast infection. Then she developed pyometra, a uterine infection, which nearly killed her. Although the Infection has been controlled with antibiotics,she has continuous discharge from the pyometra and frequent bleeding from the hormones. She gets very stressed and tries to clean up her discharge when we are out on walks, even in the freezing cold. All that would have been prevented if she had been spayed when Dr. Zink operated on her. I was assured by the rescue that Dr. Zink would check to see if she was spayed when he removed her tumor and would spay her if he wasn't. It may have been the rescue's fault for not communicating this to Dr. Zink. However, I have since read a popular book on dogs and cancer, and it said the standard of care when removing a mammary tumor is to spay the dog if she has not been spayed already. My dog also had symptoms of a UTI when I brought her in for her recheck after surgery. Dr. Zink said he would have to do a urinalysis to diagnose it. He did not offer to do the urinalysis, and by that time all I wanted to do was get a new vet and a second opinion for her cancer. It turned out she had an antibiotic resistant UTI that was resistant to every oral antibiotic on the market except for Bactrim, and our new vet wisely did a urine culture before treating her. A urinalysis would have shown she had bacteria, but she needed a urine culture to avoid giving her more useless antibiotics. I still thought it was odd that I was asking the vet about a medical problem and he was not taking steps to solve it. Is it because she was a rescue dog? Was I supposed to offer to pay him for the urinalysis? He may be a great vet if you are a paying customer, but I would worry after my experience. read more

I recently moved away from the area. I lived right down the street. I started at this Vet when Dr. Pauly was the main Doc. He was always kind and caring. Listened and understood when a pet parent came in panicked and did his best to calm and reassure you that your fur baby was going to be fine. From the time he stepped back a bit and we moved away, I (we) would see Dr. Dahm. She is wonderful. Explains everything to you. Doesn't push stuff on you and gives you time to think about stuff. This is not a place where making money is the first thought. Taking care of you and your baby and doing the right thing for them comes first. If I could have convinced them to move I would have. Or if I could stand my oh-so-hyper-that-not-even-meds-help chug for the 90 minute drive, I'd still be using them. Try them....you will never use another Vet again. read more

Doctors are good. Cannot stand the women at the receptionist desk. Very pushy with optional vaccinations, then criticize when you opt out. I was chastised for not getting my dog an optional vaccination. They are the reason I choose Lake Street Animal Hospital and moved my dogs records there. Absolutely LOVE Lake Street, amazing receptionists and doctors. Also an incident earlier this year at Roselle Animal Hospital- There was a dog that came out of a room and the vet tech told the owner (very loud) "Your dog is covered in fleas" They then let the dog roam around the waiting room while the owner was talking about what was to be done. I picked up my 50 lb dog and held him the rest of the time. read more

We took our dog Dex here and the staff always treated us well. They were professional, kind and courteous. When the time came to put our beloved pet down, they were patient, sensitive and didn't rush us as we said our goodbyes. On top of all that, they sent us a lovely note of sympathy.
