We called and they came out and told us that the cost wasn't covered from the previous trip. "We only worked on the inside and this problem is on the inside". They then replaced a capacitor for $370. The next day, I happened to run across a video on YouTube where an A/C technician explained what a scam this is and how you could do it yourself or a handyman could it. It takes about 15 minutes and is very easy. You just have to get the right condenser. What a scam. I'm sure other companies do this as well.

Their "behind -the-scenes" admin, "JoJo" was very responsive and replied to my text inquiries in a timely manner, typically within minutes. "Max" was the assigned "technician of the day" and he arrived in a timely manner. Prior to his arrival, Cool Wizard texted me that Max was on his way, and texted me a picture so I knew who he was! Max checked out the system and reported that the system was basically OK, but suggested a couple non-critical items that I might wish to address in the future, and backed up his suggestions with photos. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a new unit, or attempt to scare me with a "gloom -and-doom" outlook. The old "Holiday Inn" commercial said "The best surprise is NO surprise", and there were NO surprises because the bill was $95, which was exactly what I'd been quoted in advance. I'm glad that my A/C appears to be OK now, but when I do need a new one, I'm calling "Cool Wizard"

The service technician (PK Peska) arrived as scheduled, actually a little early, and quickly diagnosed the problem. He fixed it and pointed out a couple other things to consider for the future. No pressure, no BS, just results! This was the first time I had needed any service, so I referred to Google and Yelp to find a reputable business, and this one hit the mark. They came out quickly but then the guy said he didn't clean the drain cause he knew by the air pressure that the coil was bad. Gave us a quote for the coil of nearly $4K and said we might wanna consider a new unit, given the age of our unit. That estimate was $9K. We had another company come out and they cleaned the drain, said the coil was fine and that was it! Glad I followed my instincts! Beware and get a second opinion before succumbing to this companies tricks.

The previous install had the ductwork leaning on the ceiling, an improperly constructed return vent... RDK installed everything from scratch and the difference in how the system operates is so much more efficient (lower electric bills) with both the outside and inside units hardly making any noise. Last month was our first maintenance and again I was very impressed. I believe his name was Harris and he did more than anyone has ever done on AC maintenance in any of my homes. He washed the coils on the outside unit by removing the top, he sucked out the drain line, measured the temperature of the air pushed out from the air handler and more. With extreme heat and the toll it takes on your AC, do yourself a favor and invest in a company that takes good care of your equipment.
