My ultra pancake breakfast was great. I was overwhelmed by the size and reasonable price. The quality of our groups breakfasts were amazing. We had a group of 7 and we were seated promptly with a smile. The staff at Rose's moves through the smallish space like a well practiced ballet. It was beautiful and attentive service. All the food at Roses is excellent. Their burgers are fantastic. The fries come out right from the fryer and I have to eat them first they are so delicious hot Their breakfast menu is awsome. You can have a different breakfast each time you stop there for more than a year. The blue berry pancakes are the best pancakes ever. The homade toast can't be beat. There is a lot to be said for this little establishment. Rose's is always jam packed. With a homey ambiance, they offer your classic mom & pop options. I'm not sure why I don't visit here more often. This is the epitome of a gem. This country/mountain roadside spot is about as unassuming as it gets. Has a trendy yet homey vibe and a menu to match. Very solid food. We visited from Philly in the summer and stumbled on it and it was fantastically beyond our expectations. When this trip popped up we cousins wait to come back and once again not disappointed. Homemade white bread is legit. Bacon is hefty country style slices. Home fries well seasoned and griddled nice and crisp. Got crazy up in there and started with a slice of strawberry sour cream pie and it slapped. Can't wait to have another reason to come back. Would love to try lunch/dinner menu. read more

I love random podunk places they always seem to be the best. You can tell it's a pretty dedicated crowd that comes in here. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The menu was diverse and extensive. We were here for breakfast and they had a wide variety of omelettes, breakfast combos, sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, bowls, scrambles and more. Ordered the combo with two eggs, sausage, pancake, home fries. Everything was wonderful. The potatoes were spectacular and the sausage links were amazing. The pancake was light and fluffy. The place has a good charm to it. We sat in a booth and there was enough space and the seats were comfy and roomy enough to fit two on one side. The floors were a little dirty but that's part of the charm. Would go again and recommend for sure. read more

The gals are super friendly and always smiling. It has a down home type atmosphere where most everyone knows everyone else. Tons of laughter and storytelling going on here. Now the food! Amazing. My go to is the Country Fried Steak and eggs with hash browns (super crispy but tender in the middle) homemade biscuits and sausage gravy...the best I've ever had. How is it served? On a giant oval Fiesta Ware Plate...so bring your appetite. All of this at a more than reasonable price. read more

We traveled out here from Philadelphia for a wedding and came across Rose's Hilltop Diner for breakfast. The ambiance, food and friendly staff made this a 10/10. We might even stop there a second time on our way home (even though it's not even on our direct path home). Stopped for breakfast. Service was quick, food was excellent. No trouble in that department. Went to leave and passed my debit card over to pay only to hear the cashier tell me it was declined. She didn't seem concerned one bit about saying this fairly loudly so the 5 other people within 3 feet from me could hear. Told me she would try again, and if that didn't work, I would need some other form of payment. Being that there was enough money in that account to pay for my meal, and every other patron for at least a week, I said yes to another try. Again declined, and announced to the rest of the group...again. I then pulled out my emergency $100 bill, paid, and left. Outside the restaurant, I called the bank, and confirmed my balance, then used the same card at the gas station..no problem at all. My only beef is with how it was handled. Granted it is a small place, but the card issue did not need to be announced to all in that manner. Clearly there was a problem with the machine, or how the card was entered into the machine, which caused me to leave humiliated, and upset. I probably will return again, because the product is good, but I will bring cash next time. read more

I eat here regularly. Really one of two good places for breakfast in the area. Always busy. Servers are friendly. Place is pretty clean. They have lots of specials and pretty diverse menu. Breakfast lunch etc. I go for breakfast. It's always been good. Not always consistent or exactly the same each time but still good each time. Doesn't take long to get your food which is a big deal for me. I'll be back many more times in the future read more
