It was my first time at the Roses Social when we went there for the Cinco de Mayo brunch event. It was already a full house when we arrived and there was a queue of guests waiting to be seated. The atmosphere was very lively while a Mariachi band was playing. We started our fiesta with their curated cocktails made with luxury tequila--Don Julio 1942. We had Roses Paloma and Flower Child which were both refreshing and had the right kick in lieu of the festivities. For the food, we went straight for the mains and then shared a dessert which was good for two people. *MAINS* LOBSTER and SHRIMP ROLL It was such a flavour heaven but not overpowering thanks to the Chipotle aioli. There was a generous amount of lobster in the sandwich and the bread that was used was delicious in its own right. PANCAKES SUPREME The pancakes were light, fluffy, and perfectly tangy, with the ricotta adding a creamy richness that balanced beautifully with the citrus. The berry compote added a burst of sweetness and tartness that complemented each bite, while the Chantilly cream melted delicately into the stack. A sprinkle of granola on top brought the perfect crunch, making each mouthful a delightful mix of textures and flavors. STEAK and EGGS The perfectly cooked golden yolks added a creamy contrast to the savoury steak done the best way possible: Medium rare. Together, the combination is simple yet deeply satisfying. *DESSERT* CAST IRON COOKIE It's a fusion of warm chocolate chip brownie and salted caramel, perfectly balanced by a scoop of creamy vegan vanilla ice cream. When you walk into this restaurant the bar is directly on your left, it's a sunny inviting area on the second floor. The floor manager was very attentive and super helpful. The bartender couldn't be assed to help/serve us, he was busy flirting with someone at the end of the bar. Oh well. The food was fine, nothing fabulous considering the price, this could have been because we went at a very inbetween time of day. Great spot for lunch during the Collision conference. I would recommend to book a reservation if you know you're going to be coming here during a large event. Inside Hotel X, this restaurant is nicely decorated with modern decoration and colorful plating. We had their brunch menu and ordered the lobster roll and fries with a refreshing non-alcoholic Moscow mule. The chunky fries came very crunchy and salted to perfection. The lobster and shrimp roll came on a buttery bun, accompanied with two stripes of bacon and a mix of seafood. The servers were great and very attentive when it came to what we needed. Check out this lovely hotel and restaurant if you're ever in the area, it's accessible by car or even TTC streetcar/bus. read more

I came here with 2 other friends for dinner. This is a fusion Mexican restaurant. I ordered the salmon nogada. I was hoping to get the lobster roll but unfortunately, they were all sold out on the day. The salmon nogada portion size was somewhat small. I didn't enjoy the salmon too much. I didn't like the fact that it had the crunchy pomergranate and spiced almond. It made the texture awkward (soft vs crunchy at the same time). It also had too much sauce that overpowed the natural flavor of the salmon. The salmon was served with tortilla. The tortilla texture was not great and I know it was not freshly made. It was also not very authentic either. The tortilla was not soft and was somewhat overly dry. My friend ordered the bay scallop ceviche and I tried a bit and that was not bad. It was also not wow but it definitely tasted better than my salmon nagoda. We were also served with complimentary bread and I liked the warm bread. It was served with whipped butter. The bread was tasty but not the salmon. The restaurant is located inside Hotel X. The decor was pretty nice. The seats were comfy and the restaurant itself was very spacious. read more

First time visiting Rose Social located in Hotel X Toronto. Not sure because we visited in Christmas Day, hotel is very quiet and underground parking has no cars. The underground parking elevator took me directly to second floor when the restaurant located. Upon arrival, it is quite empty! We sat down quickly and ordered French Omelette and Supreme Pancakes. French Omelette with black truffle mushroom is very good in portion, except a bit lack of flavors, we have to ask for salt and pepper. The pancakes on the other hand has a wow factor! It is soft inside and crispy outside, with cream and berry sauces. Wonderful lunch for us, but don't know why it is quiet. read more

As a lover of pretty things, Imade reservations for their Roses Signature cocktail yesterday, and liked it! This restaurant is located in Hotel X near Lakeshore, so we had high expectations driving all the way from Markham. The food unfortunately, did not hit the spot. We ordered the lobster benny and a chopped salad. The bennies came with big chunks of lobster and tasted pretty fresh. Although the dish was designed with unique charcoal buns and crispy potatoes, we could not taste the bun because of all the butter,and the potatoes were bit at all crispy. The salad was pretty tasty but overpowered by too much red onion, and a tad too much dressing. Service was not bad, but could definitely be improved. We were greeted by a lovely hostess, but then had to wait for our server to finish playfighting with her coworkers behind the bar before i was able to make eye contact to place our order. Our water was also never refilled. Last but not least, the cocktail was pretty good. Im also intrigued by The Hip on the menu, so will definitely try that if I'm ever in the area... we do not hate the pkace, so may return after memory of this disappointing meal fades away. read more

When we sat down the settings were not properly arranged and I only had a knife. The staff appeared frazzled and unable to deal with the rush. Had the enjoyment of spending three days at Hotel X and visited Roses several times during our stay for food and drink due to the outstanding friendly service of Harsh, Harry and Connor behind the bar. The food was great, the bar service was top notch, the team very sociable even though they were busy... Not a cocktail person, but they seem to specialize in all kinds of fancy drinks as well. We will make an effort to pop by to visit them again, next time we are in town... Highly recommend you to check them out... read more

Make reservations because by the time you're reading this, it will be difficult to get a table. There is something for everyone. Fresh seafood, fried chicken, a monster burger, or a bright watermelon salad. We went back 3 times in one week and tried 3/4 of the menu and everything is good. The staff is friendly and personable. The food was a subpar to say the least. The burgers seemed under cooked and lacked flavour. The lobster roll was enjoyable. The menu is quite large and has many options to please multiple demographics. The service was awful, I acknowledge that it was a busy Saturday afternoon; however, the server did not check in on us nor did they fill our water unless called and proceeded to miss serval people's glasses at the table. Worst experience in a very long time....it took 30 mins to be seated ...the restaurant was less than half full....after being seated it took another 29 mins before the waiter arrived...he told us he would be right back with water. After 30 mins we got up and grabbed our own water. We waited another 70 mins before they delivered our food! One of the orders, a chopped salad, had a rubber band in it it???? How can a restaurant less than half full with 4 menu items at lunch screw up that big? The waiter even tried to excuse it as "being slammed"???? On top of it all, the food wasn't even good. this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. As a long time Torontonian and restaurant lover, I am willing to spend money on a great experience, and even a good experience. We were greeted really well and had high hopes. The service from here was so bad we thought it might have been a joke. No-one came for about 15 minutes, then when they did there was no acknowledgement of the delay, followed by bread tossed on our table. Staff forgot one drink (out of 2), didn't understand our wine order (which was by the glass from the menu) and one of the sandwiches had mayo on the top of the bun, as if someone had rubbed if off their hand. We understand if people are new, but this was beyond unacceptable for any restaurant, and surprising at such a high price point. read more
