I went here for Boursin event! As soon as enter, it feels like you have entered into a French restaurant. They had decorated it with Emily in Paris theme for this event. They have ample seating, and lot of picture worthy places. I tried their drink called the Emily Spritz - which had strawberry syrup base but it was little bitter for my taste due to Italians bitters. The aftertaste was better and even though non alcoholic it mimicked the taste of alcohol. I tried, their cheese boards - was particularly impressed my apple jam on one of their boards(The cheese board was called The Marcello). I am sure they have the same drink and cheese boards with different names on their regular menu. The staff is super nice, and friendly. Also try to get a reservation before visiting.

Absolutely loved this place! I've been waiting and wanting to visit Cafe Renee for years and I'm so glad I did. The staff was so helpful and accommodating when I told them I'm vegetarian. We got to sit in the booth in the glass house - 10/10 recommend. We ordered their famous Ravioli and Rigatoni - both were yum! Side note, their Rigatoni isn't vegetarian, so mention it before you place an order so they can create a vegetarian friendly version. Also, order their Garlic bread and mozzarella sticks (Thank me later!)

I had seen this place on Instagram over and over again and finally got the ability to check it out. We walked in without reservation and got seated right away. I have to say, hands down it was the best pasta I've ever had. We had a high top table and as people were walking by, it kept shaking our table but other than that it was a phenomenal!

Actually I give this Cafe a 6+. For food, service and ambiance. My husband and I had an Absolutely perfect Sunday brunch on the front patio today but I believe anywhere we would have sat would have been just fine with the servers. Krista K. our server and others assisting her were spot on. My photos will tell our experience we had today. Don't forget to visit the lovely speakeasy upstairs if you are there in the evening.

A 4.5/5 but rounded to 5 stars for really good service and efficiency. This viral restaurant is super cute inside and great happy hour menu. I got the espresso martini and it was very well made! Jeremy the bartender/server was friendly and checked up on us frequently. Since I was sitting at the bar, it was easy to communicate as he made drinks infront of us. It was easy to get a reservation on resy when the date resets as well. You could definitely walk in for a table if you came at 5 but around 6 it's really busy. For Starters we got the caesar salad and mozzarella sticks! both were solid picks and great for sharing. And my friend and i got the carbonara and rigatoni pasta. We should've shared one... because one pasta was good enough to share, the portions were huge!!! I didn't really fall in love with the pasta but it had a good flavour. The ambiance is amazing. They have a patio as well! at the front and the back of their restaurant. The restrooms were very cute as well and SUPER CLEAN. I would definitely come back !!

    Ravioli and carbonara

Cafe Renee absolutely lived up to the hype!! The ravioli pasta was definitely unreal - it was so rich and flavourful and nothing like I've ever tasted before! The carbonara was also quite good and the mussels were also very good! I definitely suggest everyone gets the ravioli for sure if you come visit Cafe Renee. We sat by the bar and it was surprisingly comfy. The bathrooms are downstairs and were private and super clean and cozy. The restaurant itself is super cozy. All the servers and bartenders are super friendly and fun!

3.5 I really enjoyed the dish I got - I got the Ravioles du daphne and thought it was delicious but honestly such a small portion for the price. Their tiramisu was solid, and Pavlova was good too. I didn't like how we weren't able to put our names down on a waitlist as it was walk in only if you didn't have a reservation. It was also very loud in there to the point where you really couldn't hear the person sitting right next to you. Although the inside of the restaurant was cute, it was just too loud.

There's basically three reasons you would wanna go here. Steak, drinks and maybe the carbonara. Other than those, the food is really gonna disappoint you. At least port wise. I can see it being a cozy date spot though. Intimate vibe and the fancy delicious drink and you'll have a great time. Can't say anything bad about the service. Just know that they probably can't accommodate big parties.

Rigatoni alla vodka and raviolies du dauphiné

Really great Italian-French cuisine! This spot has a warm but chic ambiance and is a great dinner spot. They don't take many reservations and unfortunately don't do a waitlist so getting a table can be a bit of a wait. They have happy hour even on weekends from 5-7pm which is great. The espresso martini was very tasty. For food we tried the steak tartare, rigatoni alla vodka and the raviolies du dauphiné. The steak tartare was tasty and the fresh made chips were nice and crispy. The rigatoni was very delicious and creamy. The raviolies had a nice filling and the pasta was fresh. The butter sauce was good however ours was drenched in it. Overall a very nice spot with great food and drinks.

    Breakfast Poutine

First time at Cafe Renee- we had brunch and it was so good! We ordered the breakfast poutine and the pain perdu and they were both so good. The egg on top of the poutine was cooked perfectly and the gravy was delicious. The pain perdu had bananas and a blueberry sauce that was amazing. The patio is really cute for a weekend brunch and the service was great!

Ravioli Du Dauphiné and Crab Spaghetti
    Elsie Z.

For dinner, I ordered the steak tartare, ravioli du dauphiné, and crab spaghetti. The steak in the tartare was good but lacked flavour, though the thin, crispy potato chips with their unique crosshatch pattern were a delicious highlight. The ravioli was disappointing, dominated by a strong butter taste, which surprised me given its popularity. The crab spaghetti had a nice flavour, but the pasta was slightly undercooked, and the sauce was too watery. Additionally, I wish the food had arrived hotter and faster, as we waited quite a while for our meals on a Friday at 9 PM. Overall, I expected more based on what I've heard. I also got splashed by the bartenders while they were making drinks since I was sitting at the bar stools for dinner.

Came to leave a review and then was shocked to see all the negative reviews. So, I think its fair to preface this with - maybe dinner is blah but the brunch was yah! My friends and I had no idea this was a viral spot but we wanted a bit a Europe after all our summer travels and this was the place we agreed on. Online booking wasn't clear with regards to securing a patio table but upon arrival the seater was very accommodating with a side of "hey gorgeous" and loads of compliments. Okay, my vanity aside, that made me happy that we could sit outside instead as we soaked up the last bit of summer. Food: We got the souffle pancake, Rosti Eggs Bennie and Parsian Eggs Bennie + seasonal fruit plate. All delicious but yes the price is high but this is King St ya'll - what do we expect? Was it worth? I say yes. Unfortunately no substitutions allowed even if you pay extra but don't sleep on the garden salad - to die for. I was not expecting it to be that yummy AND came with pistachios. Not your average garden salad. The parisian eggs bennie comes with fresh baked croissants and the rosti was SO good. Wish there was a bottomless coffee option but alas. Service: Our server, Isiah (I hope that was his name) was just PHEnomenal. Chatty, informative and just wanting to do his best to take care of the table. He overheard that it was my birthday so he brought us mini Proseccos to celebrate. What a star! I can tell he loves his job and his attitude was infectious. Set our day on the right start and we weren't rushed out after a particular time. Thank you so much for making my birthday a memorable one and the staff deserves a lot of accolades! Will we be back.

When you arrive you have the option to sit on the first floor or upstairs on the rooftop bar. I believe this is the only multi-level Cactus Club Cafe I've ever been to. We opted for the rooftop bar which had a high energy, upscale, and stylish vibe to it. We ended up sitting at the bar as it was very crowded. I ordered a frozen Aperol Spritz which was excellent and I could drink a few of these. For food we ordered a burger and fries which was good but nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a late night spot for drinks and food the Cactus Club Cafe is a solid choice.

The place SEEMED quiet but shortly thereafter the place got JAMMED! Initially it was slow service but it picked up shortly. We had several different servers so no single server is tagged here. I will say that it's a hip, nicely equipped restaurant. We decided to do an appie meal. We ordered Sichuan Chicken lettuce wraps ($25.50)..this was the best of the appies. The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

The food was incredible- one our tastebuds won't forget! Our group of 5 started with fresh sushi and sashimi, table side Caesar salad and the softest brioche served with sun-dried tomato butter that was perfect in every way. Main course: Australian wagyu ribeye that we didn't even have to chew plus a strip loin and beef Wellington (which was maybe the only thing I don't need to order again, but still delicious). All the sides were amazing and finally sticky toffee pudding and butter cake to put us in a complete food coma. Wouldn't change a thing about this meal. I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.

Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
