This is my favorite place in town to have breakfast and I have been back more times then I can count. I always, I mean always, get their pancakes! I don't care if I'm having a burger, or something else that normally doesn't go with breakfast foods, I always get an order of pancakes. They are fluffy and moist in the center with a bit of a crust on the outer edges, it is pure bliss. Because this is a diner all their foods are served 24/7. And I can get their pancakes anytime I stop in. My family loves this place too and the burgers are great and the gyro sandwich is great as well. We have always had a great experience with any meal we've ordered. The staff is excellent and always hustling. They even remember me since I've been there so often. Very cute restaurant. I loved the decor here. I decided to try this place out for a full breakfast because of the good reviews on Yelp! The food was good, but as another reviewer mentioned I found a hair in my food, as well. :( Didn't happen till the end of my meal though, fortunately. I had two over-easy eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. Pancakes were really good! I am a vegetarian so, they let me substitute a breakfast meat for a bowl of fruit, which was nice. Overall, great service and great atmosphere. Food was good, but I wouldn't say it was anything extraordinary. Only gave them 4 stars before of the whole hair thing. read more

Everything I'd want or expect in a diner. The atmosphere was great and everything seemed clean. The waitress I had was pleasant and attentive. Service was fast and the order was up quickly. Portions were large and everything was great. Price seemed reasonable for what I was getting. I'd definitely go back again when in town. We ordered our food to be delivered and they forgot one of the entrees. I ordered ribs and they were very small and tough. Ate one and wasted the rest. My daughter got biscuits and gravy with home fries and they were alright. Gravy lacked flavor but the potatoes were good. The sides are over priced and are bland. Zero flavor. Definitely not getting food from here again. My husband, daughter, and myself have been dealing with abdominal pain since eating here. read more

The food has never struck me as anything special, I would only come here if my in laws want to go and I have no other choices. The plate is usually very greasy, you can tell they use a lot of butter in the prep for most things like eggs and and even the toast is slathered in butter. It was the day after Christmas, and all through the house, the crumbcrunchers were stirring and trashing the house. Toy 'copters had crashed into her head without care and momma hoped Monday soon would be there. Then, out of the chaos, there arose such a clatter, Momma looked up from her phone to see what was the matter. When what to her cheer-weary eyes did appear, but a casually-dressed man and three kids full of cheer. "Let's go ice-skating!" they cried out with glee. Momma grimaced at the thought of her injured right knee. "To the Southlands!" they yelled, voices full of delight, not knowing they faced a cold Winter's night. After Southlands so crowded and the toy store's long line, they needed a place where the whole fam could dine. A beacon of neon in the night so dark, it was easy to find a great spot to park. The host quickly sat them in a large corner booth, where they pondered how best to satisfy a sweet tooth. Mom couldn't resist the fried steak with mashed taters. It came with a cake that would soften hard haters. Not really a cake, twas a large mound of bread -- still, it came with sweet butter, was as big as her head. Fresh veggies were served with light salt and warm butter. The only downside was the table a-clutter. With her own pot of coffee and jar full of sugar, she sat for an hour til her girl was a booger. With enough food leftover to take home a meal, they ended their Christmas with warmth they could feel. Great atmosphere. Not very gluten friendly. No gluten free menu. Good service with a moderate wait time.

The Good: This joint feels like a cheesy 50's diner. They have the cardboard cutouts of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe and everything. Also, the walls have the pictures of old celebrities and a plaque that says when they were born and when they died. It fits the theme very well. The Bad: The nursing home has field trips to this place, and it is hard to navigate around them as they mill about. I don't want to insult anyone's grandmother, so that is all I'll say on that point. The Ugly: This service was awful. Easily some of the worst I've ever had. First, our maître d' just stood and stared at us as me and my wife entered the joint, as his manager yelled at him from behind the counter to seat us. Did I say yell? I meant screamed. Not that yelling is really any better. Our waitress was rude, and very unhelpful. I had to ask three separate times for water, and she ignored me as I attempted to get her attention to address our meal situation (another patron final physically stopped her and made her go to our table) The place was dirty. My seat had food on it, that they never did clean it up after I mentioned it, all of our plates had food stuck to them. And the bathroom was gross! It was really bad, like they had never cleaned it before. Also, it always smelled as if something was burning. Other: For me, this next part was the worst, but you be the judge. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich. Now, in all my experiences with this incredibly bad for you sandwich, it is made with turkey, ham, swiss and then the WHOLE SANDWICH is dipped in egg-battered and fried. THIS IS THE DESCRIPTION ON THE MENU AS WELL! But the sandwich's bread was the only thing that got fried. When I finally asked our waitress about this, she said that that was how the sandwich is always made everywhere. When I told her that the menu listed it differently, she said no it doesn't, and then walked away. (It totally did). Conclusion: Rude and Dirty? And that rude? Never again. Never. read more

This place is right behind our hotel and considering we had our son, his wife and two kids which haven't been fed since we were here last year thought this might be a economical food choice. They all wolfed down four various sizes and styles of burgers with fries, while theMrs. had a open faced turkey sandwich with mashed, veggies and cranberry sauce and said it was ok and while I chose chicken-fried steak with country gravy mashed spuds with a salad. Mine was pretty dang good. Fast-forward to the am. We have tired of hotel breakfast after five days on the road came here for breakfast. Wifey went for the Mexican Scramble, and said it was blah, while I went for the Mexican Benedict which had chorizo, Not!, more like breakfast sausage, but with a splash or two of Tabasco it was fine. If it wasn't for the service I would have rated this a 1 star. First off all, the coffee tasted like it was on the burner since they opened that morning. Keep in mind it was already 1000 when I ate there. Let talk about the food. I didn't order anything fancy, all I had was bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and pancakes. The bacon was undercooked. The hashbrowns was ice cold. The toast was barely even toasted. Only thing that tasted alright was the scrambled eggs and the pancakes. Rosie's has been a favorite for several years. However after today's meal, I will not be returning. Ordered the cod sandwich. Fries were served double dunked and cold. The diner is cute. 50's ambiance for sure! A lot of old timers here, some awesome, some just grumpy!! We came for brunch so we had a bit of breakfast ( served all day) and a bit of lunch. The Gouda Omelet was just very heavy. I ordered it with egg whites which they substituted for 89 cents. I couldn't finish it! The oil is actually still lingering in my belly! The America Classic burger was really the star of the meal! Cooked well and SUPER TASTY! The fries were perfect...hot and fat and crispy! The service was super fast and friendly! read more

So glad we found this place! I am pregnant and have been craving something different about every other day, and this place has IT ALL. Such a cute traditional looking diner. Very friendly and fast service. I had a super delicious strawberry shake, and then the pork tenderloin with onion rings. I really would have given 4.5 stars, with the only deduction being for the sandwich. I'm originally from Indiana, where Pork Tenderloin is their specialty, so just by comparison, it wasn't the best I've ever had. My first time at Rosie's Diner & it won't be the last. What can you say about a honest to goodness classic style diner with counter service? You can play cool tunes on the jukebox. Candy from your youth at the cashier. This place is the real deal & I totally enjoyed the experience! And then there's the oh so yummy food. Honest to goodness homemade Corned Beef Hash! Over medium eggs that were actually cooked over medium, something very hard to find these days. Hash browns that were crispy on the outside & nicely cooked on the inside. Nice dinner and people. .went when was busy and service took a minute and our didn't come out right. We had the chicken fried chicken dinner and meat loaf , catfish, popcorn shrimp. I think house salad , dinner bread roll and mashed potatoes was good but our other food tasted like it fried frozen food and meat loaf looked TV dinner meat loaf and brown gravy was little salty. I seen a steak sandwich some was eating that look good I might try that but other that I love look inside place but they was short staff. Worse part was the waitress, when we asked her to override the extra charge for the gravy she got argumentative. The quality of the food certainly doesn't warrant the wait either.
