Gosh; I haven't been in a Ross for a bit and decided to come in to see if I could find any cute baby finds but what I ended up experiencing was actually a reminder of why I hadn't been there in a while. I went straight to the baby section and half the stuff was on the floor and covered in soda. The toys were all missing pieces or shredded or even broken. I went to the home stuff to see if there were any great deals when I hear overhead that someone is waiting to try clothes on in the fitting room but needs assistance. There were a few workers standing in the same aisle as me talking about plans and what they're going to do after work, while this lady was waiting. Usually I don't mind what they are doing but the fact that we heard the overhead message 3 times requesting the help and they didn't move once. After about 10 minutes of looking wrong, I found a small gift for a family friend. So I went to pay, and there was a huge line probably about 10-12 people deep with just this one cashier open. She's the same one who has been asking for help while these other ladies were standing around chatting about places for the night. I don't often comment on the staff because I've been in there shoes, but after the 6th time hearing the fitting room call out and a name drop on the system to go help it was a bit insane. Needless to say; unless I'm looking for something specific, I think I'll keep going to TJmaxx or Marshall's for the fun goodies. read more

Have been a fan of Ross' for years, when they were in every freakin state EXCEPT for IL... loved them in Hawaii, California, Kentucky, and recently Pennslyvania. This one generally has more stock choices than the one in Schaumburg, and as always... Ross has a great selection of dresses... but their toiletries and shoes can have treasures in designer or higher end selection, at such bargain prices... Kenneth Cole coat $20.99. BCBG top $2.99. Lauren dresses $12.99... love Ross. read more

Every time I've attempted to shop at this store, I only leave upset. They are completely unorganized, the entire store has things just thrown in random spots. The employees not only are no help, but on more than one occasion are just flat out rude! There is another discount store directly across the street. From now on I'll save myself the time and aggravation and make that choice. read more

I shop here offer. However the store is huge, but items selection is poor. Seasonal items (Christmas etc) are usually on a small table and hard to find something beautiful. Otherwise all good, staff is friendly. read more

OK, so I have been to this Ross a few times, but I really need to tell you about the time I was there the evening of Friday 6/1, so here goes: #1: The fitting room attendant (the older lady) may have been having a rough day or something, but frankly she was rude. I strolled up and said "hello!" and there was no greeting just an abrupt "Put them on the rack." so I just shut my mouth because I, too, had a long day and wasn't really interested in dealing with her attitude. #2: Hey moms, I get that you have to drag all your kids into the dressing rooms with you, and that's not what makes me upset.. Its the fact that they treat the dressing room like a blasted playground. I mean seriously, is it too much to ask that you keep your 6yr old from rolling all over the floors looking up at people though?? I'm trying on dresses in here and I'm not comfortable trying to see my reflection in the 3angle mirror to see whether or not this dress hangs right on my figure with your son crawling all over the place IN FRONT OF THE MIRRORS playing games with his siblings. You might be OK with this behavior in your own home, but I AM NOT. When your kids do this, it makes people in dressing rooms uncomfortable, so control your kids, please. I get that you're a customer, but so am I, and I should not have had to feel that way. #3: To the very sweet poor manager who was going to be stuck cleaning up that annihilated rug aisle that the jerkbag children running mayhem throughout the store destroyed for you: Godspeed, good lady, you have my deepest sympathies... #4: I have been to this store several times, and there is always a 15+ minute wait to check out. This is problematic, and makes me unlikely to shop at a Ross store unless I have as much time to wait in line as I did browsing.. The moral of the story here is that (if I know retail staffing the way I do) this store is likely to be ridiculously understaffed, and because of that, they are running a subpar store despite them working as best they can, which has to be such a defeating feeling for the staff.. And also that a lot of the parents that shop here are @$$holes who need to control their evil spawn... However, despite it all, I got a GORGEOUS dress! read more

Ross always has something that catches my eye that I just have to have. It's a great place to look for little treasures that are usually at great prices. I've bought a variety of things at Ross. There's just a lot of useful little things you can find if you are willing to look through the store. Some of the best things (in my opinion): TIES!!! There's always great looking ties whenever I visit Ross and i don't think i've ever seen a tie for more than $10. These are usually name brand ties like Kenneth Cole, Express, etc I've bought some great looking ties for cheap here and I don't think i'd go anywhere else to pick up some nice ties. Shoes - There are some great prices on shoes to be found at Ross usually, if you have big feet like me (size 13-14) you'll find they have good shoes for a decent price here. I find i'd spend about half at Ross compared to what I would anywhere else for a decent pair of shoes Art/Decor Items - If you are trying to spice up a room on a budget, check out Ross for sure. I've found some great little gems here including wall art/prints, and decorative items like small statues/figurines. read more

A bit of a treasure hunt to find good clothes, but worth it when you find something you love. Super cheap prices mean not the best quality, but hey, not everyone has the budget to department store shop for brand name. Normally I dislike this store so much ! But I let my husband drag me in . & low & behold I found a pair of sunglasses that I loved !! We waited 15 minutes at the jewelry counter & nobody would come help us ! So yea I still dislike it even more now ! read more

I have been standing in front of the cashier. Unfortunately it was the return line where the sign was blocked by the racks. The employee asked me to move behind one customer and all of a sudden 5 other customers jumped in front of me. She just didn't care and didn't say anything. In addition, most of the racks are empty and very unorganized, compared to the other Ross. Arlington Heights IL Ross is definitely not recommended, especially with the employees bad attitude. read more

Ross Dress For Less is truly a "treasure hunt" as it states across the walls. I wasn't expecting much as I heard Ross Dress For Less is like a step below TJMAXX. In regards to appearance and quantity, that proved true. There's not much in the store for such a huge spot. However, with that being said, it was fun to roam the store and see what treasures I could find. My husband ended up with a $10 Perry Ellis Belt and a $5 workout device. I found two blue glass vases for $2 bucks each. All in all, if you're in the area and have some time on your hands, stop on by and see what you might find. read more

We were here after dinner right before close so the lingerie section looked like a tornado hit. They did have a selection of mens tall clothing and petite women's so me and hubby walked out with some date night clothes for a change. Alright store, not much stuff for men there, a very small section for clothing. A bit expensive if I compare it with Burlington. You can still find something hidden if you go there everyday but overall, I will go there if it is on my way. read more

I visited Ross for the first time today and I have to say -I was not impressed. Upon first walking in the store just looked empty, very little merchandise in a very large space. What merchandise was there was for the most part incredibly cheap and tacky. I noticed a few nicer items mixed in with the junk, like a Juicy Couture bag. However, I saw the very same bag at another discount retailer for a lower price. Save yourself some time and just go to TJ Maxx. read more

This place is awful. When you walk in it looks like a cheap dollar store that sells clothes. Racks are so overcrowded you can't even thumb through the selections. I was able to push some clothes aside to actually look at some shirts when one of the staff came by, pushed them all back in my way in order for her to re-rack some clothes. I have shopped at many Ross stores. Never had a problem. Even at this location never had a problem. Until last month, I returned something that I had payed with a gift card. After the return I went and got some things and went to pay for them. At the register, when I was paying I wanted to use the gift card and it didn't work. The young lady at the register said it sometimes takes some time for the money to go back to the card. After she said that the lady who had done the returned for me earlier, her name is (Omayra) said very loudly, "I made the returned and it didn't go back to that card!" "I put it on a store credit" I was shocked when she said that. She grabbed the receipt and again said (very loudly so everyone could hear) that she had put it on a store credit. Everyone in the line was just looking at us. It was very embarrassing! I told her it was not true, in a normal voice. She told me we could look at the cameras and I would see that she was right. At that moment I knew it had gone too far. I told her if that's what she wanted to do then we should. I opened my bag and wallet and showed her that she never gave me a store credit. She grabbed the receipt again and said. "Oh, it did go back to your gift card" It just looks different. She never apologized, she just kept saying "It just looks different. I payed with cash and called the Costumer service and they just said she should not have done that, that they would talk to her. I'm very disappointed with The Ross company. The reason I'm posting it after a month is because I just went back. ( I let it go, I think everyone deserves a second chance) but again, Omayra was the cashier and she just gave me a horrible look. All the time she didn't smile just gave me dirty looks. I was not even done paying when she was saying "next costumer, next costumer"I was shocked with attitude of this cashier.
