I am very good about recalling details and do not remember receiving verbal notice about "store credit only returns" nor do I recall being told the store credit is only good for one year. I just literally handed that woman $55 for absolutely nothing while being forced to honor her shoddy business practices. In this day and age with wonderful selections and store policies, elsewhere, I don't see how she continues this narrow and unethical business practice. Her clothing/gift selection is certainly nothing special, so you'd be wiser, in this case, to not shop local.

However, the manager (Taylor) claimed that the shoes had been worn because the soles looked slightly dirty. He insisted that these were signs of use, even though such marks like scratches or light dirt could easily appear simply from customers trying the shoes on. I also showed him other pairs of shoes from the same store that looked exactly the same, but this did not change his decision. His attitude was quite rude and disrespectful. In the end, he simply showed me a policy stating that returns are not accepted if an item has been "used," and refused the return. In this store, my return was not accepted. However, later at another Marshalls location, the same shoes were accepted without any issues. I felt very uncomfortable because of how I was treated. It took me a long time to get over this situation, and it left a strong negative impression. If the shoes are already being sold in this condition, then how can they be returned as "new" if I purchased them exactly like this in the first place? ---

The last time I was there the same thing happened, only I also had to use the restroom which was of course locked and since the fitting rooms were closed then too, I had to make my way all the way back to the front of the store to find someone to unlock the restroom. The someone never came and I again had to find someone to unlock the restrooms. There was also another woman and her child waiting to use the restroom. When I came out and went to the self-service fitting rooms they were occupied with a line of people then too. So I left my cart of things and walked out. The service there is deplorable. How does a store stay in business when their only concern seems to be the theft issues? They pay a guy to stand at the door and check your receipt 5 seconds after you have paid but no one is there to help the customers who actually want to buy something. I believe I have given up on that store.

There were lots of items on clearance. At Home is filing for bankruptcy and will close stores. Perhaps that is why the store had several areas that were bare. I don't know if this is one of the locations that will close, but they shoulda had their Halloween stuff out. I will drive anywhere, spend anything, if it means cool Halloween stuff.

If you are lucky enough to find something on sale in your size, snatch it up. The store is well organized but a lot of the popular sizes do sell out quickly in preferred styles. Checkout is still relatively fast because it's so automated with you being to just put everything in and the machines do all the work for you. I did an online in store purchase and was waiting a while as there was an extra associate who was able to help, but didn't acknowledge me until the other lead at the register told him to assist me. If you do purchase online and need to do a return in store, they will just give you a gift card as they won't credit your original card.

Some of the lowest reviews are legit and some are just plain asinine. For example the kid that said…read morethe other stores look cooler, that's probably the dumbest thing I've ever read. The prices are actually fair since they're a lot cheaper than most of the stores I shop at and they have excellent quality. They always have sales so I would check the website. It was very slow when I went there on a Saturday night but the employees kept the store clean and tidy. I guess they charge for plastic bags now which is weird. If you have bought a lot of items, be sure to bring one of your own bags to store them in after purchase.

Both woman made me feel immediately welcome and at ease. They started by asking me some questions about my general style (non-existant)and what I thought I'd feel comfortable in. They both got to work pulling various items, like experts, with ease, and neatly placing them in a dressing room. They helped me through out the entire process. They made me feel comfortable, not rushed or pressured. I ended up buying several pieces, that I was thrilled over, and in addition, they happily help additional pieces I wanted, but wasn't able to purchase until the next day after I got paid. My one and only little downside, was I did feel the cost of the clothing was quite pricey. Unfortunately, that will keep me from being able to frequent the store as frequently as I truly would like. If it were not for that, I would hands down have given 5 stars! I highly recommend Torrid!
