I quickly swung by to grab some things for a co-worker and was able to get everything I needed except for one item which I didn't expect for them to have anyway. So it was a good visit. They had about three cashiers checking people out and that was great also. Dually Noted: I deducted a star because I don't appreciate seeing signage telling me they check receipts. Stores can have that signage all they want but unless I volunteer to have my receipt checked, I'm going to keep walking past. I will say, "no, thank you" or "I'm good" and be pleasant about it but ummmm yea, no. I'm not waiting for someone to look at every single item I have after standing in line for 30 minutes to purchase five things. Or to just skim my receipt and not even confirm if I bought everything. I'm good. I'm not too sure what this new "receipt checker" job or incentive actually means to people who have more than a clue. I'm glad it's an extra job for someone but please don't offend me. You can find great items at Ross. They sell a selection of different items. The prices are not too expensive. The problem I have with them is the customer service. There are not many checkout lines available. There are maybe one or two lines available which causes the line to be long. It one be nice if they had one or two self checkout lanes. read more

I am not a regular at Ross, as a matter of fact barely shop here, because of couple reasons: always dusty and dirty all around the store, items on the shelves are messy, lines are lone... Came by one day due to a specific request by kiddo, and everything confirmed to stay the same after we went in. There are big dusty balls all around the store especially inside dressing room, shoes are allover the place, bags are on the floor, line was all the way to the end of the store with only 2 cashiers working ...you get the picture. If I didn't happen to speak to the manager and found out they had 2 employees called sick at last minute that day and the 2 showed up has been covering down since the shop open that morning, I would gave it a 1 star. I feel bad for the ones working that day but at the same time it was no excuse for the store to remain that dirty. Definitely hope the corporate company will send in a cleaning crew to help out. read more

It's Ross! A typical hit or miss store. I hadn't been to this location in awhile and stopped in earlier today. Wasn't looking for anything in particular but was doing some browsing and I had time to kill. Speaking of Ross, that's pretty much what you need in here - time and patience. This visit was a miss for me. They didn't have much in my opinion. I spent close to an hour. I found three tops in the Junior's section and some pants..all under $40. Not bad, but no super great finds. Don't get me wrong, I've found amazing deals at Ross before and that's why I continue to visit. I just go in with low expectations. Customer service was good. Parking here is decent. There's a good size parking lot that they share with the thrift store. read more

Ross is a discounted department store where you can shop for the whole family. They have clothes for men, women (plus size, petites, juniors, maternity), and children. They also have accessories such as handbags, shoes, sunglasses, and bath and body products.They sell luggages as well. They also sell household items such as kitchenware (pots and pans), bath towels, and bed sheets. Unlike other discounted dept stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's, I like Ross because they actually have a section for Petites. Although the brands are not as high end as TJ Maxx. I find that the prices at Ross is considerably cheaper than the other two dept stores. My biggest critique is that the restroom and fitting rooms are dirty. There were dust bunnies in the fitting room and paper on the restroom floor. That aside, Ross is a fun place to shop for the whole family. read more

This is one of the worst Ross locations I've ever been to based on how cluttered it is and selection options. Dry chaotic store. The cashier must've been in need of a lunch break because she refused to carefully wrap fragile glass items and placed oversized items in one bag with smaller items. This store is miserable! I was given multiple directions before I could try on clothes and I came out to switch out items to try on and was not allowed. Staff person said I had to bring out all 8 items, hung on rack and then I could try on more. I gave up! Marshall's doesn't have all of these rules Not coming back. Seriously, what a depressing awful place. Why are all of the workers hostile? I have been to this store twice in 2 weeks looking for some discount housewares and a few summer clothing items. Both times, the cashier and/or "front end manager" have been outright rude. Sorry for bothering you by purchasing something??? One cashier when the line is 6 people deep... yet there are 2 men there in vests that say "Loss Prevention" meticulously dumping, sorting, redumping and resorting electronic tags. It's an absolute disastrous mess in this Ross. But if you have time to kill and an extra dose of patience you can find some good buys. Just go with an open attitude and realize you are actually shopping in a branded thrift shop, except the clothes are all new (or so we hope!). I haven't made a stop at this Ross location in a while until just recently---This store has seen better days unfortunately. As soon as I walked in there was a strong smell, like cigarettes, and someone trying to get rid of the smell with another strong scent, almost like cleaning supplies you use at home. Alot of the shelves were empty, it seemed like we were the only customers in the store! The rest of the store was organized, we didn't have any interaction with the employees, but wow! Been here several times, the employees here are unpleasant... So I'm usually just in and out. One time, I found a cute top that I loved soo much but had a rip on the side :( The top was already on sale, but I didn't think that the price was not worth that flaw. I was so sure that I wanted to buy the top anyway, so I took it up to the cashier and asked her if there was any way to get a little extra off just to see if I can, and she replies "did YOU rip the shirt?" and I was a little offended she would say something like that. I'm not surprised that people would actually do that, but I was shocked she would say that and with SUCH ATTITUDE. I'm a very nice person, but the way she said that made me want to throw it at her and leave, but I didn't... I was probably going to buy the top whether I could get some off or not, but I changed my mind because I didn't want to buy it from HER. And now I'm doing this review because tonight I went to look for a dress for a wedding, and spent about 20 minutes looking around and found 8 great dresses to try on. Every time I have been there, my experience is they close the fitting rooms around 10 or 10:30. But this time, the fitting room attendant was talking to another woman (I'm assuming another employee) and I stood there with my clothes which felt like forever, but probably only 3 minutes... and the lady finally acknowledged me and said, "oh, fitting rooms close at 9pm" It was 9:07pm... the lady did offer to hold it for me to try on tomorrow, but it was my only free time to shop :( so, I put the clothes I was excited to try on back on the rack and left. This location of Ross has some great deals, but it will take you awhile to find them. I wouldn't even attempt to find a matching pair of shoes because its few and far between when you find a match. The organization of the store is off, a few of the sales reps are helpful if you ask for help, and the fitting rooms smell horrific. I'm not sure if the company is letting the store self implode or be taken over by employees that don't care. Maybe it was just the time of year that I went that made this Ross not up to par. I can say that the line went very quickly and it was very long (wrapped right of the checkout area past the ladies shoes towards the back of the store). So yes the cashiers are quick at ringing customers up. I will only be venturing back if I can't find what I'm looking for at another Ross store. Although when I did call this store to find out if they had an item in stock or available the employee I spoke to on the phone was rude and could have had a more professional phone manner. read more

The staff is so rude and beyond pointless. We asked for help to move a big ottoman up to the register for check out purposes because the carts weren't big enough and my sister has a bad wrist but the first one pawned us off to the folks at the register who flat out refused saying it was only the two of them in the entire store. Well fine, but there was no one in line to check out! They lost a $110 sale just for the ottoman. On our second visit, the fitting room attendant was beyond hostile. Seemed irritated that someone would actually want to try items on and later she became argumentative for not bringing the door tag back out to her. That's when another Ross employee jumped in accusing us of being loud (which we weren't) and then moves on to excuse the other woman saying she was deaf. Well she never had any trouble hearing us because she was very precise in her responses. Maybe we should have been loud after all! Ross might consider changing to self checkouts only because register is ALL the Ross employees do and there's not much they can do to avoid it! The previous review is on point. The sales associate that assisted me with my return on 12/31/11 was rude and unprofessional. I had to explain to this individual (because she was acting hesitant about giving me a refund because the tag was removed) that I wash (or hand wash if necessary) all new clothing items that I purchase before wearing it. (Sanitary reasons). If the color fades or the sweater is not wearable, I will not keep it. Does not matter if I paid $5.00, it is going back to the store. This Ross store at Dobbin doesn't even deserve a 1 star. This has got to be the worsed department store I have ever gone to. I was at Dobbin store after lunch today. 1 ONE cashier 1 ONE long line. By 1pm a woman showed up acting like she maybe the manager. Told everybody that we are not in the right lane. And told customer to remove all the hangers off the clothes and go to the front and hang them in the rack. First there was no clear sign whatsoever for customer to go. Cashier or anybody that work ever said anything about where to fall in line. Everybody just followed the person in front of them.They told customer purchase to move. Half followed the instruction. Then there was chaos. This store have NO SYSTEM at all whatsoever. Manager doesn't care. Customer service was terrible! Blaming the customers in line for the delay. When there was ONE CASHIER. Expect us to remove the hangers and hang then in the rack for them. I thought Wal-Mart is bad. Ross Dobbin you just ranked no.1 is the worse place to shop. 5th ave next door to Ross store have more system and more organized and cleaner than your store. Everything is in disarray at Ross.
