You can go up and downstairs to find what you need men's stuff housewares are upstairs. everything else is pretty much downstairs. Karen was the associate who helped us a few days ago, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Every time I visit this store, there always seems to be an issue, but this experience was by far the worst. My husband was returning a pair of jeans, and Karen smelled the jeans and closely inspected the tag before wrongfully accusing him of switching the tags because she claimed they didn't match the description. For the record, the description matched perfectly. She simply didn't understand the abbreviations on the tag and incorrectly assumed they didn't match. As customers, we purchase items directly from the sales floor and return them if they don't fit or if we change our minds. It was very upsetting to be accused of tag switching and returning worn merchandise without any evidence. That kind of accusation is embarrassing and unprofessional. Just because someone has worked at the store for a long time doesn't mean they are always right. I've also heard other customers complain about Karen, saying she has a pattern of wrongfully accusing people and giving customers a hard time. I hope Ross takes this complaint seriously and provides additional training so that customers are treated with respect rather than being unfairly accused of dishonest behavior. read more

I decided to look a little more and found the perfect dress. I rushed as fast as I could over to the dressing room but saw that it was closed. That's when I spotted Thida and asked if I could please go in and try on my dress real quick and to my surprise she said yes! She's a rockstar for that. I appreciate it so much. The last time I tried to return an item she tried to refuse it EVEN THOUGH I had the correct tags and receipt the item came with . I had bought the item and tried it on at home and it didn't fit across my chest area. She made a whole hassle about it- and SHE was the one in the wrong. I've actually never had an issue returning an item at ANY Ross location before! This lady is actually working the register right now at this current time 12 PM NOVEMBER 1st. The security guards are friendly. I tried to return a pair of shoes with the receipt. The clerk said the bottom of the shoes was dirty and it was too old. The tag was still attached to the shoesband I only wore it around my apartment, it wasn't dirty. I recall there was a pair of shoes at this store on the rack. I turned it around and the bottom of the shoes was DIRTY, so don't tell me my shoes were dirty! Not long ago I touched a pair of jelly shoes and they were sticky. I had to take out a towel and wipe my hands. Was tantamount to touching a opened caramel candy bar, if you get my drift. I ended up returning them at the Sloat store on Lakeshore plaza with a full refund. What are they saying the shoes were dirty? The clerks at this store are incompetent and are lazy. It's a hit or miss with all rosses. I find this one and the one on Lakeshore/sloat have the best customer service. But their security sucks. While in line, I notice a female security sitting on her stool, hunch over on her phone. If she's on her break, I doubt it that's where she's suppose to be. Workers stopped us at the door 30+ minutes before store closing. We were literally begging to let through/in for a super quick purchase. We pointed out the store hours closing posted at the sliding doors and the time on our phone to the guy but he just shrugged it off acting like he doesn't know what i'm talking about. what a bunch of bullshit. Avoid this store that doesn't know how to treat its customers. Long Lines. Store treats paying customers like thieves. 20 customers in line on a mid-week afternoon and only 2 or 3 cashiers taking turns going on breaks so at times there are only 2 cashiers working--with 20 customers in line. ridiculous. After paying---20 feet from the cash register station is a woman pretending we are at costco looking at and marking receipts- ridiculous- the store doesn't trust the cashiers to properly ring up the items?? btw there is No self checkout. After paying there is only one way to exit--walking 20' to the exit and the costco lady ---there is nothing to steal in that 20' walk. So if you have a hard time parking at Westlake Mall my suggestion is to park in the Ross parking lot and work your way down. I had just gotten off of a really long work shift and was in the area when I remembered I had a return for Ross so figured I would just stop by here to Do the return. When I got up to the counter I couldn't find the receipt so I decided to wait and just go home. When I walked out of the entrance an employee stopped me and literally took my return and said I had stolen it. He then proceeded to take the item and not give it back. When I refused to leave without my property that I had paid for he told me that I had to call the manager in the morning. I left there fuming. It's not my fault that they most get stolen from a lot. I like Ross Stores for their deals, and have shopped at Ross for decades.However, this Westlake store is unlike any other. For one thing, they frequently close well before their posted hours, like 30+ min earlier than posted. I came to retrieve my Amazon packages this evening before closing. The doors were locked, customers were all gone, and the employees ignored me. After about 5 min, one employee came to the door. I communicated through the door that I need access to the Amazon locker, and that it was before their posted closing time. The employee said "we're closed" and walked away. A few minutes later, their security guard appeared out of nowhere outside. I asked why the store was closed. He said "maybe they want to go home early." This is unacceptable. If your hours state that your open till 11:00 pm, but you start turning customers away at 10:15, then you should change your posted closing time to 10:15. Secondly, as many other reviews have revealed, beware if you are a person of color, in particular if you are black. Be ready to be profiled, followed, and as I have seen on several occasions, assaulted with the wooden pole that they keep at the front. Racism at its finest at this store. Sad. read more

This is quite a typical of what you'd expect from a Ross. You can find out of the season and rejected brand products for cheap here. And honestly I love it. This store has a good selection of facial wipes located by the front of the store, which I love because I do tend to sweat and oily throughout the day. Now, having said that, every Ross is different. One by Serramonte has a better selection of Home/Decor stuff, the one by Colma has great clothing, while this location has better selections of beauty and jewelry stuff, as well as women's clothing. This Ross, along with the Colma store is probably the cleanest Ross out there. Spacious, 2 floors, and I don't find any clutter often. Though I do have to admit, the selection in the 2nd floor is poor. The men's shoes are lacking, nothing is ever available and the rack is always empty, men's clothes is literally 20 feet length of clothes, that's it. The home section looks empty. It has poor inventory, and it sucks. Now onto the customer service....IT'S ROSS. Do you really expect anyone to be too helpful, you went to the wrong store. Most discount stores are fairly lacking in good customer service. It's not something I care for, because having worked at one of these stores before, the items they sell are random. No one really knows what's available here, even the employees. So, I suggest giving them a break. This Ross' location does have one big pro. It's attached to a parking garage by the 2nd floor, which is easy access to get in and get out. Or if you're buying a lot, it's very convenient! To put a long story short I showed up 15 minutes before they closed on a Sunday night hoping to return one item because of personal financial emergency That arose at the last minute. When I got there the blinds were already closed as you can see in the pictures and some of the workers were still there as I tried to get their attention all that happened was them gossiping about me and making a mockery of the situation which was very disheartening and very discouraging. As a manager in hospitality/food industry I know the importance of customer service and they also knows it people get fired for doing less. I'm not going to go into detail as to their petty inappropriate behavior. So my mom likes good bargains - she purchased items from this location about 5 days ago & decided to return two of the items. She wanted to return a blouse & shoes. We lost the receipt for the blouse and still had the receipt for the shoes. The cashier, JACQUELINE did NOT know what she was talking about at all. I'm completely aware that it gets busy & there's a long line, but she was totally brushing as off. It's understandable that when a customer loses their receipt you may or may not receive a full refund or even store credit, but she gives us store credit for the item that DOES NOT HAVE THE RECEIPT. So, we try to return the shoes that does have a receipt & she tells us that she can't give us store credit or a refund. UM. WHAT THE HELL? At this point she's telling us to come back within 30 days to receive store credit or the refund. Like what difference does it make? We have the receipt. I continue to ask her what the store policy is & she says "this has nothing to do with the store policy" with a sprinkle of attitude. AGAIN, what the hell? This has everything to do with the store policy. She obviously did not know what the hell she was doing. At this point I was completely irritated by her customer service. By far one of the worse experiences I've had at a retail store. Luckily, Ronaldo who is another employee at this location helped us out & spoke to his manager who then gave us the store credit. Good things happen when it's least expected. This was the case. I had to be at Westlake Shopping Center to return an item and I noticed Ross. So I figured what the hell just check it out. OOOMYYYGAWD I found a gold mine for repulsive 70's outfits. I had never been more excited over the ugliest clothes in my life. I bought a hideous top, sunglasses, and a few dresses to try out. Of course there was also the everyday wearable clothes that you could buy. Very polite and friendly staff. I was greeted with "Hello! How are you today?" as soon as I stepped inside. Just came here with my boyfriend and his mom. We were about to be next in line, then got waited off as no one helped us to go next assuming it was the manager she was having the clipboard going to different closed register isles which I don't know why maybe to tell a worker to go on break. Without a doubt after waiting and putting on hold without no one saying, "please wait" or a simple gesture saying "ill get back to you" was kinda just made this feeling off then she called us and it was only two items a hoodie and probably some sweatshirt.
