We had the absolute BEST experience at Living Spaces thanks to Cem and his counterpart Nav. From the moment we walked in, they treated us with such kindness, patience, and professionalism. I wish we would have checked the reviews before buying from here. I went with my sister in law to buy all new furniture for her new apartment. She bought several pieces, thousands worth, including a $750 matress. What the salesperson FAILED to tell us was that the floor model was SIGNIFICANTLY softer that the new one she would recieve because hundreds, if not thousands of people have broken it down. The matress was delivered and immediately we realized that it was hard, like rock hard. Like sleeping on a cement slab. She called and got their standard auto reply of "you just need to break it in" and their "sorry, youre outta luck - too bad for you" attitude. The time it would take to break this matress in to even half of what the floor model felt like would take years. Its completely unrealistic, shes just 1 person! Whats worse is she isnt able to get comfortable and is having lingering effects from loss of sleep and physical pain. She had to buy an expensive mattess topper which slightly helps but still.... NOT THE POINT and not 100% remedied. We tried emailing Living Spaces customer help, customer service and even a corporate email we found and they all bounced back. Its clear they have no intention of helping us. Fortunately there are consumer laws but its a shame we have to even go in that direction. It would have been nice and more importantly it would have been fair for them to not only advise of the difference in feel but remedy the situation by allowing for a courtesy exchange. Jeez, even the ability to correspond would be nice instead of having to resort to alternative recourses. Literally any other mattress chain allowes for at least a 30 day exchange. Living Spaces delivered a bed to my home this morning and charged me for assembly. The delivery team assembled it and then literally ran out the door. Once I inspected the bed, it was immediately clear that it was defective. One of the legs is cracked through the wood along the grain, the joint alignment is visibly off, and the material is particle board that is crumbling. This is structural damage, not cosmetic. The bed is unsafe and unusable. Customer service has been more focused on "process" than resolution, despite this being a brand-new item that failed on first assembly. I am now left with a broken bed in my home that should never have been delivered or assembled in this condition. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially given that Living Spaces positions itself as a quality furniture retailer. Charging for assembly and then leaving a customer with a defective, unsafe product is unacceptable. I would strongly caution others to inspect items immediately and be prepared to escalate if there are issues. read more

ordered a chest and desk from living spaces. Paid for indoor delivery. The chest came quickly but damaged. The refund process involved an obnoxious ai assistant before reaching a human. desk still has not arrived, and since it's being parcel shipped will not be indoor delivered. The delineation between which items were being shipped as parcel was not clear at all at the time of order. No consideration or compensation has been made and now I have to figure out how to get it up flights of stairs when it does arrive. Would not order from this place again. read more

Recently I ordered all furniture and decor for a one bedroom one bath apartment. So impressed with the "team" cooperation on turning me over to each department expert. I was in and out with under an hour. The store had everything I needed for a modern look and reasonable prices. Great selection, great pricing and great people. Shout out to the delivery drivers. Quick on setting up the furniture, removing all packaging while being so pleasant. Without me asking, they automatically removed their shoes before entering. I bought a bed from this location a few years ago, and ever since, it's been difficult to find sheets that actually fit properly. By chance, we stopped at a Living Spaces near Sacramento on our way back from Tahoe and found a great selection of sheets that fit perfectly. After those wore out, we came back to this location expecting a similar experience. Unfortunately, they only had two sheet options, both marked down from $220 to $62, which suggested they were higher-quality. Once we got home, it was clear they were just low-quality polyester that felt cheap and uncomfortable -- definitely not something I want my pregnant wife sleeping on. When I tried to return them, the experience got worse. The manager was smug, dismissive and didn't even want to speak with me directly, stating that "they're not a sheet store." That's a pretty surprising stance for a business that sells beds and bedding. At no point during the purchase did the salesperson mention a no-return policy. Between the misleading pricing, poor product quality, and lack of customer service, this was a really disappointing experience. I won't be coming back, and I'd strongly recommend they reconsider both their return policy communication and how they handle customers. read more

I bought two love seats from Living Spaces Millbrae in November 2023. As the love seats were of a light color the salesperson recommended buying the warranty in case they got soiled or dirty. I bought the warranty at $250 per chair. In October 2025 one of the chairs was showing wear and needed to be cleaned. I called Living Spaces and the sent me a link to a company called Warranty Service. I filled out the application and received a reply a week later saying 'based on the information provided, it appears the issue was not reported within the required time frame ... as a result, your claim is ineligible for service'. When I bought the warranty I was told it was valid for five years and was not given a copy of the terms and conditions. I accepted it in good faith. I have called Warranty Service on the phone and they have told me that there is nothing further they can do for me as the case is now closed. I called Living Spaces in Millbrae and spoke to a manager who said it has nothing to with them and that I need to pursue the matter with Warranty Services from here on. I have just gone to the website for Small Claims San Mateo and got the forms to file an action against Living Spaces Millbrae as they suggested, recommended and charged me for the warranty. This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with, built on a completely unreasonable business model. I spoke with a representative and had to practically beg to speak with a manager to cancel an item that wasn't scheduled to be delivered for over a month. It's baffling that in 2025, a company doesn't allow customers to change their minds just 72 hours after a purchase (their policy only allows 48 hours), especially when the item won't even ship for another four weeks. The representatives repeatedly emphasized that this is a "nationwide" company, as if that somehow justifies their policies. Most American companies that sell products are "nationwide," and many (from Amazon to Wayfair) allow customers to cancel orders without outrageous penalties, even when third-party carriers like FedEx or UPS are involved. Living Spaces, however, insists on equating cancellations with delivery and imposes a 10% restocking fee, even though the item more than likely hasn't left their warehouse. This practice is exploitative and completely out of step with any legitimate customer service standards. The manager and representatives I spoke with were dismissive and tried to gaslight me into accepting this absurd policy. Living Spaces clearly prioritizes profits over maintaining fair and respectful relationships with their customers. I asked someone to call my cell phone and they never did. The social media department just passed along the order number for a service manager to contact us. They never did. Subsequently, I contacted them and they still refused to take away the boxes and packaging for a replacement Ottoman even though they had delivered a stained piece. They also told me I had to be available from 8 am to 6 pm for a pickup of the stained item or they would charge me $60 and refused to give a 3 or 4 hour delivery/pick up window. Even when their social media department makes a gesture on Yelp to act like they will solve the issue, they indeed don't. I would strongly caution buying items from here. read more

A few days later, we noticed our credit score had dropped by 60 points, and by then it was already too late. She was attentive, helpful with my questions, and guided me through the ordering process with care. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was disappointing. The furniture selection feels more limited than in the past, and when I came to pick up my chairs, I was told that three of them had already been assembled. This was unexpected, as I had anticipated boxed chairs for easier transport. Because it was raining, we loaded the assembled chairs directly into our van. Once home, we discovered that the legs were uneven and the chairs wobbled, which makes me believe they may have been returned items. This was especially frustrating given that it was Christmas Eve and I was hosting guests. We were only able to use the two chairs my husband assembled, and now we must return the other three. This situation caused significant inconvenience and stress during what should have been a joyful holiday. I received an overly upsetting experience, had to talk to multiple people who only gave me the same terrible experience and I wasted my time owning that I was 20min late for my window (for very personal hard family situation) and if there was anything else we could do to get our delivery the same day. I received an email that they would do a courtesy standby until 12:31pm, but when I called back 20 minutes later, no one was helpful nor made me feel remotely considered. However, personally would not recommend shopping here. They have a 7 day return policy which speaks to how they value customer satisfaction. It has affected my families finances and also we still do not have a mattress that does not hurt my back when I sleep. Sleeping on a $100 beanbag is better for my back and does not hurt anywhere near as much as sleeping on the $3000 mattress we bought from Living Spaces and went through this giant hell hole of a mess and headache and run around from the Living Spaces team here at Millbrae. So much for attempting to get a mattress that is able to accommodate my chronic pain and chronic illness of nerve damage from Living Spaces and there is nothing that management seems like they can do let alone or do they care at this location. This store provided the worst experience. We bought an extension table from them and it didn't come with the extension panel in the center. We had confirmed with the sales person that this was in fact an extension table and he verified with the details on his tablet. Upon delivery， it didn't come with the center panel and we called them for the missing part. They called back later in the day that this table doesn't come with the panel. We wanted to return it but they were going to charge us with the 10% restocking fee. This is very unethical to put the error on the customer. We went to the store the next day to explain to them the whole situation and they still wouldn't remove the restocking fee as it is their policy. This is unfair to the customer as we weren't never told that it doesn't come with the panel. This is a senseless product. Lol. See picture. do not order anything online: my husband and I ordered a couch and it has been a nightmare. living spaces not only couldn't deliver our couch they also lied. living spaces said they would contact us about the couch and the last two weeks has been horrible. my husband called and called them had someone say they would call him back. then he called today and they even hung up on him! he even went in person to the Millbrae living spaces and they basically said oh well, we cant do anything. now living spaces is charging us for a fee because their delivery people literally couldn't not get the couch into our home. they decided not to keep trying and put the couch in their warehouse and now is charging us $400 because we bought a different color couch that doesn't fit with their inventory. so basically their are still charging us for a couch they couldn't even deliver. moral of the story, don't order online and don't bother going in person. just don't even bother with living spaces. Came in on a Friday afternoon to look around for a couch. They have something for everyone here and 2 floors. A few people asked if needed help so that was nice. There was a floor model that was in great condition that was being sold "as is" and was basically half off the regular price. Kush ended up helping with the sale and it was fast/painless. They gave 3 days for a hold for pickup which was plenty of time. The pickup process was seamless and smooth as could be. You get a text message for check in prior to pick up and go to the pick up area around the building. They wrap it all up for you and load onto your vehicle for you. The bad reviews seem to be for the delivery experience. Picking up in person is a bit more work to coordinate a truck and people to help but is a lot faster most likely if you're able to pick up yourself. read more

Our in store service was great, but when the couches were delivered the floor got scratched due to the sliders on the bottom being damaged when they arrived. The delivery person was not at all helpful and was in fact downright rude when I tried to complain. We opened a claim with customer service and we shall see what happens. I should have read the reviews before I went to the store. I went in with my son who is a young adult, to buy some bedroom furniture for his room. The sales person was terrific. His name is Garrick. Some of the items were not available and they needed to order them for us. They gave us a delivery date. A few days later, I get a message from the store saying that the furniture will not arrive on time. We had a detailed conversation with the representative when we purchased the furniture about the need for the delivery to be on time due to the weight and my ability to get help to carry the furniture. The new message is that they won't deliver on time. First, I asked if they would bring the furniture up one flight of stairs since this dilemma is caused by them changing the logistics. They declined. Next, I asked if they would split the cost with me 50-50. They declined, saying it "can't" happen. I asked to speak to the manager. Daniel told me that Alannah,, the manager, would call me right back. She did not call me back. After 24 hours, I called her back and she didn't answer. I left a message and I'm still waiting for her to respond. I do not enjoy going through the process and taking my valuable time to purchase something, coming to an agreement on price and logistics, then having the company not keep their side of the bargain. Things happen and I understand. I called them to resolve it in a reasonable manner. I advise people to never walk inside the store, Living Spaces. Again, the sales representative Garrick, was terrific. He was very clear about everything that was happening, discussed the products with us, and we were very happy with his sales and knowledge experience. We purchased a bunk bed for our toddlers from the Millbrae location. This review is in regards to the delivery and some misinformation we received. 1) We paid $100 for delivery and installation only to have the bed assembled incorrectly. The vertical lines are supposed to be on the outside of the head & foot boards. As you can see in the pictures, both beds are incorrect. 2) Additionally, the bed was extremely wobbly, and it's because the screws weren't fully drilled in. (Huge safety risk for my toddlers!). 3) The ladder was defective out of the box. The bottom should be flush with the floor. The steps of the ladder are also nailed incorrectly. It doesn't matter which way you rotate the ladder, the steps were not manufactured correctly. 4) The floor model appeared to only have a few slats. When we questioned the sales rep about it, we were led to believe we needed a bunkie board in order to keep the mattress from sinking through the bottom. Low and behold, the bunkbed came with a whole roll of slats. We don't need the board anymore, but apparently it's a final sale. So much for transparency and honesty. We now have to wait for a new ladder + another team to come out and fix the bed. read more

But even if you check their website, that restriction is not presented clearly or obviously: "When purchasing at Living Spaces, you can rest assured knowing we have protection options that fit your needs. The Care Free Protection Plan by UNITERS provides comprehensive coverage against any defects or accidents for 5 years with no additional fees. Win-Win offer: If you do not file a claim within the 5-year term, Living Spaces will provide a voucher equal to the purchase price of the applicable Care Free Plan policy to use towards a future purchase." Per the Federal Trade Commission guidelines, omitting material terms like this violates fair advertising principles and misleads consumers into purchasing based on incomplete information. It's not prominent, clear, or conspicuous as required. Here's how it fails guidelines: - Prominence: The restriction isn't included in the headline, nor was it mentioned verbally during the sale. - Presentation: The language doesn't clearly indicate the "2X the voucher value" requirement. - Placement: The condition isn't placed where consumers are likely to notice (like in the headline) unless they actively scroll and search for it. - Proximity: There's no asterisk or footnote linking the claim to the restriction. Adding insult to injury, when I contacted Millbrae to resolve the issue (as corporate strangely required), the supervisor was dismissive and rude. She offered no solutions when I voiced my concerns about the misleading warranty terms and kept saying "I don't know what happened 5 years ago"--implying I was lying. Her unprofessional demeanor only exacerbated an already frustrating experience, reflecting poorly on the accountability.
