Good prices and selection are the only reason I still shop here. Mainly negative experience and always seems understaffed. Lines are long and often one cashier. I expect bad service unfortunately. They don't like to open their main dressing rooms. Last time I was there, the cashier didn't fold up my clothes, she gave them to me in a messy pile and dismissed me. I suspect bargains are to be had. I also suspect that without weight training and the jaws of life these off-price finds will remain elusive on the racks so tightly packed that the local fire and rescue unit may be required. Horrible wait to check out! Waited 45 minutes in line for 3 checkers to get us in/out on a Saturday! Nearing the front of the line, o e of the checkouts starts to clean up behind the counter the hangers instead of helping the LI e that was STILL all the way to the back of the store! It's more ghetto of a store. I've been to quite a bit of these chain stores, but this one had broken items in a few of the aisles. The lines were packed and crazy when I came in (weekend, holiday coming up). I feel they should hire more people to deal with the lines and to check the aisles for peoples safety. Prices are ok. Everyone who knows about Ross Dress For Less stores knows we are shopping for the value. To that end, it does not disappoint. With that said, my 2 stars is not for the deals, but rather the horrible customer service and filthy store. I travel over an hour to shop here. I've been now 3 times and each time I have had the same woman who looks after the fitting room. She is very rude, impolite, unfriendly, unprofessional, nasty and overall unpleasant on every level. On my first visit I chalked her rudeness up to "maybe she's having a bad day." The next time she was extremely rude again when I asked how many items we are allowed in the room. Her response was "well If you would read the sign, it says 8!" Woah. Finally a few days ago I made the trek again only to find Miss Sunshine at her post being sour when I said "hi- how's it going?" Her response was "I'm tired!" Listen, we all have jobs to do and sometimes we don't want to do them or we have things going on in our lives. But when you work in the public and in a customer service business, you should conduct yourself in a professional manner. Or maybe seek work elsewhere where you aren't seen and don't have to interact with the public. Another thing is the changing rooms. Dirty, dirty and more dirty. I don't understand. Why isn't anyone taking care of this area? Another thing is the constant buzzing from the tags on the clothes. It was non stop and ear piercing. I asked an employee could she do something and she shrugged and walked away. I go to check out and the line is around the isle. I waited about an hour. My cashier was a young man who tossed my purchases in bags like it was trash. So is the value worth all of this unpleasantness??? Not at this location. read more

I went to Ross Saturday to purchase planters, I asked one of the workers for help because the planter were stuck together and they had 2 different prices on them which wasn't a problem, I just needed them separated before I purchased and take them home, the young man was very helpful trying to separate the planters. A manger name Sean came over to where the young man was and made him stop helping me and told him to go back in the warehouse area. I don't know what to say about and the people that put in charge of their stores but this made no sense whatsoever. Are there anyone at your stores to help customers without mangers like Sean chase the workers from helping the customers in other ways as well. Conveniently located next to an Aldi (so you can do your grocery shopping as well)! The store itself is smaller than others I've visited but the variety is better, as are the prices. There are plenty of footwear options, including high-end brand heels and sneakers. The home décor and kitchen sections also have a wide variety of items, great for gifts or just yourself! The racks and shelves aren't all organized but that's expected at a store like this. Make sure you have time when you visit, and a lot of patience, and you might just find one (or a few) things you really like at unbelievable prices. read more

I had a bad experience with the cashier Laura and another cashier at 01/29/19 at 11am. I went to return some items and purchases they made it seem it was a problem to provide this service.Laura was not pleased at all that she had to do the return but luckily Greg and Stacy the manager was there to assist me .I hope I have his name right they should place him at the register to deal with customers because he was friendly,knowledgeable. It was not even busy but those 2 cashier that was in front that morning needs to be place some where else. I made a complaint to Stacy also.She was very pleasant and friendly. I went here yesterday, but I had time to write my review now. I was excited to come here, as I don't have this store chain in my area. I was expecting to be excited, but I ended up disappointed. The staff was friendly enough to welcome us into the store, which was good. However, it kind of just went down from there. There was a limited selection of clothing, and there was no style for me that I enjoyed. The store is quite small, and despite this store saying dress for less, the store is not super cheap! It's laid out well, which I guess is a good thing. However, if you want a store with a big variety, this store does not cut the bill! read more

I got so excited to come to this store which is quite a distance from my area almost 2 hours away but I needed to get outdoor. The staff were quite welcoming, helpful and friendly. First time in this store.. set up like standard t.j. Maxx and marshalls but nicer store better prices. Employees very helpful and cheerful. Found couple of things I was looking for and then some. All under 20 bucks..bonus.. clean and better organized than above mentioned stores. Can't wait to go back. Definitely store to check out once a week since things always changing. Clearance was decent also. Nice plus size section not outstanding but better than others and not to ugly on clothes or expensive. Now have new place to go without guilt. Lol. read more

I was shopping at Ross and had many packages to take to the car including a folding table that was not folded. When I asked the employee standing at the door if they could help me fold the table she replied that it's not their job to help customers. Very disappointing with customer service. read more

I have never been to this store before, and won't be going back. Arrived about 30 minutes after they opened and was surprised by the lack of inventory. About half of the clothes racks were empty! I found a few things to try on, but the dressing rooms were all closed. I asked a woman behind the front counter if they were going to open at some point, and she said in about 10 minutes. She could see that I had clothes ready to try on. I asked her if she could open them now for me, and she said no. So I put back the clothes and left. The end. read more

Ross in East Windsor, NJ October 16, 2019 Sirus, the Assistant Manager, is rude, nasty and lazy. He is just like Fat Steve that was fired a couple of years ago. Steve used to throw the shopping carts back in place. Nasty. Then there is Kim always complaining she doesn't have any money. She works the dressing room and stocks shelves. Looking for a handout this woman. When I have returned items these sales clerks have an attitude. This store is soo disorganized, clothes all over the floor, Very small shoe collection need more shoes for the fall, winter of 2019. Bathrooms are over out of order and I have been told to use Aldi's bathroom. read more

I love Ross stores and was so excited to shop here. The store seemed bare.. But I found a couple of dresses to try on. The dressing rooms were so dusty I was disgusted. They obviously haven't been cleaned in months!!! I would not purchase anything from a place as filthy as this. How this can get past management is beyond me. read more

The selection isn't huge, but the turnover in clothes from week to week is pretty often, so if you come consistently and like to hunt for clothes, you'll find some good deals. Prices are generally good. The dressing rooms (at least before the pandemic) were kind of dirty. You can find trendy pieces but also good closet staples. Usually very affordable. read more

I've been to a few Ross's in Pennsylvania, as well as the one on the Vegas strip. Both are beautiful, well kept, organized, and clean. This one...not so much. There wasn't a huge selection of well..anything. Sizes were all mixed up and in the wrong spot, people were leaving shoes in the makeup bins, makeup in the houseware racks, and housewares on the shoe racks...you get my point. When I did end up finding a shoe I wanted, I discovered that the left shoe was a size 7 and right shoe was a size 10. Looked everywhere for the other shoe size 10, couldn't find it. The only good part of shopping here were the employees, who were actually keeping the shoe in the bin behind the register. Overall, just kind of one big mess in that store. Not sure if I would ever go back. read more

The Ross in East Windsor, NJ is the worst store by far. Awful customer service ,rude unhelpful employees, especially management that couldn't care less about customers. They're always short staffed and takes forever to check out. Every questioned decision is met by "I'm just doing my job" and/or "this is company policy". Returns are met with lots of difficulty, even when new, unused and accompanied by receipt. Example: I was refused a return of brand new, just purchased item accompanied by receipt. Went home, sent my husband and return was processed without any problem. I wonder if this behavior has to do with the fact that I'm a senior and disabled...Easy pray? See Rachel B.'s review from 3/26/2019, who also mentions the name of the SAME manager I had a problem with...not just once. There's a pattern to his behaviour. Too bad they lost the sale of about $200 I had in my cart. I used to shop there almost every Tuesday. Since the beginning of the year I've spent over $1500...Ross will not see one more cent from this customer. Yes, Prices are good but the aggravation is just not worth it. TJmaxx has similar merchandise, much better all the way around and is just across the street. Too bad there's no option for ZERO stars. read more

Pros: The design/ setup of the store is very open makes it easy for someone to shop I love the way they have the 4-ways surrounding the H racks makes it more spacious. Items in the 4-ways pulls you in. Btw love the household section. Cons: The dressing room is disgusting just like the cashiers attitude. Their idea of being pleasant is yelling NEXT. This Ross's in particular isn't very good. The cashiers are never overly pleasant or interact much. Not that it's expected, because they aren't being compensated nor valued. But one instance which really rubbed us the wrong way came at when we were returning an item. The young teenager gave my wife a very harsh attitude because she removed the sticker from the shoe. I smirked and remarked "but we have the receipt", to which her response was "I'm just saying, next time don't remove it." ...uh, okay?? Keep talking like that there won't be a next time. Come to think of it, there hasn't been. We seldom shop here, and usually just stop in for a few minutes. The selection rarely deviates in households or clothing. read more

Everything about the new Ross store at East windsor NJ is horrible. The team that's running the store doesn't give a shit about the customers that shop there. The night manager, a young lady by the name of Janice Alvarez doesn't even bother doing anything except yap with her fellow employees mostly complaining about the customers that had recently left (unsatisfied and annoyed with the service). Everyone of the employees there are rude and. unhelpful. I asked an employee there to see if i could get help with lifting a carpet from the shelf. Janice Alvarez the area supervisor spoke up and basically said that the rules in the store have changed and I would have to do it myself and stormed away. I asked her to give me her store managers name and she said that she didnt have to answer any of my questions and stormed away. I followed her and told her that she "did" have to answer to my questions since she was put in that position for that very specific reason to see that her customers were satisfied. I personally was there to buy a couple of expensive things as I have recently bought a house. But this level of service in direct supervision of Janice the area supervisor is completely intolerable.sometimes it's not what you say it's HOW YOU SAY IT! This lady needs to show respect to customers and if she hates her job that much, she might as well quit. There is no way I or anyone in my family is ever coming back to this store! read more
