Every time I go to a Ross I am never empty handed. This place had the cutest cat and dog apparel. I even got something for a girl even though my cat is a boy. I just wanted the sunglasses. I generally love Ross but this one gave me mixed feelings. There was a genuinely friendly greeter at the front door which was so refreshing compared to the heavy security I've experienced in my hometown of El Cerrito. At the El Cerrito locations I've felt like a criminal just walking in to shop. Here was completely different with a warm greeting, plenty of shopping carts. The shoe department had lots of sketchers around $35, not too bad. Hit and miss on styles and sizes but I found a couple pairs. The clothing was really confusing. I shop Plus size and why was so much of it religious in nature? I did find a couple nice work tops that did not have slogans though. read more

I was gonna go toy shopping with my daughter. Was letting her pick what she wanted before i purchase anything. And the fact that I put back all the toys on the shelves, this Mexican lady had the audacity to tell me if I'm not buying anything, do not let my daughter touch anything. I love the stuff in this store -- I really do. But after over a decade of shopping here, I'm convinced it must be a black hole for employees, because I've never seen the same staff twice. Ever. It's always understaffed, always chaotic, and somehow always the same vibe: stressed, snippy, and ready to clock out. Other locations aren't perfect, but this one takes the crown for worst service and most outdated store layout. A recent trip involved a very long line, one poor clerk begging for backup, and another employee who seemed to be tailing me through the aisles. I had my two little kids with me and a big purse full of snacks -- I guess I looked like either a shoplifter or a very tired mom. (Spoiler: it was the second one.) Either way, it was weird. To be fair, there are a few kind souls who've stuck around more than a season. Two women and one young male manager (with short dark hair and great customer energy) are absolute gems. He even confessed he secretly shops at their competitor. I like him. Returns? A nightmare. And don't get me started on the security tags -- I've brought home too many items with them still attached. So then I get to drive back, waste my gas, prove I bought it, and still get side-eyed. No apology, no coupon, not even a "thanks for your patience." Just vibes. And can we please stop pretending the security guards do anything? They mostly look bored, and even they've admitted out loud they can't actually intervene. That budget could go to employee training or, I don't know, more than one person working the register. TL;DR: I keep shopping here despite the chaos because I'm loyal (and slightly delusional). Let's go shopping! I'm a fan of Ross department Stores. Ross is one of my favorite stores, where I can find great deals on clothes, home stuff, and seasonal decor. Ita true, at Ross you can Dress for Less at this store. I found some name branded comfy leggins like Juicy Couture, Nike and Adidas, which are perfect to wear to my work at home job. Also, I scored some some awesome outfits for my daughter and baby clothes for my Gbaby. It's better to shop in the morning when everything is clean and organized - it gets disorganized as the day progresses. The check out service can be slow at busy times even though all cashiers are working. Return Policy; you have to return items before 30 days and you must have to have the receipt,ll or you get a store credit. They are open till 11PM. read more

I really didn't like the cashier, Nelly. I wanted to return items and repurchase them with a discount but she told me I'm not allowed to do that. I had to further explain that I just bought the items and the discount wasn't applied. She looked at my recent to confirm and said she can do it but normally I would have to go back to the original location (context: I bought them at another Ross location). Since when did we have to return things at the original location??? She gave me a refund just fine but is making up lies that I can't return?? On top of that, I was with my mom and she was using her senior discount. My mom likes to pay with cash but to speed up the process I offered to Apple Pay and my mom can pay me back later. Nelly did not allow it. She said that my mom has to pay to use the discount! That's totally absurd and ridiculous. It shouldn't matter who pays! You got to love Ross. It is the best value out there. Of course the store is a bit disorganized but they all are and it is expected as it is a bit of a huge bargain hunt. Think garage sale but with new items rather than very organized department store. If you keep this in mind you will love the experience. read more

The selection is fine but the employees are rude and lowkey racists. While my mom and I walked around and shopped, a staff took all our selections away. When we talked to her, she said she spoke to my mom and my mom walked away. But my mom was with me the whole time. It seems like the staff picked on my mom because she's a small Asian lady who speaks little English. The waiting staff refused to do her job which is recognized clothes. She forced us to hang the clothes back ourselves and put it back ourselves. She even stopped another poc girl to count the clothes on her hand. Won't come back for sure read more

3 women stood around while 1 cashier checked out the entire line. 1 watched the door, 1 watched the jewelry and 1 made sure no one with more than 8 items used self check out. But tp smeared in bm overfilled the trash cans. What's up with that this is NOT THE OLD COUNTRY. Flush your tp women. God help us! A 3 and half minute wait while one cashier hums along, & the manager is across at the other register drawer looking on and doing-? And the security dude and a rack clerk get hysterical over something on her phone. The manager looked up to see what's their laughter anout, and scanned the floor. And me? i wait some more. I love this Ross, I always find good deals and the store is moderately clean, the staff there is so nice and makes you feel welcomed. When checking out at the register the one lady that's always there when I go is super friendly and makes conversation ALWAYS. That makes me feel welcome and we are able to build a relationship with the staff even if you don't know them. read more

I usually come here to get shoes for my teenage son since they carry all the brands he likes. Great for affordable kids clothing and decor items. Nice store where you can find good deals on name brand items. The store does a good job of staying well stocked. They keep their prices low and you can find some pretty good deals. We found a stability ball which we've wanted for quite sometime now for just $8.00 not bad. read more

I'm surprised I've never written a review for this Ross. I do most my clothes shopping (what little shopping I do) here. Came during covid and it's being handled well with masks and social distancing. Clothes are of course always cheap and affordable and quality also. I've bought clothes from here that's lasted me years. I'm no fashionista so I can't really counter-comment on any other review here. I'm really simple with my tastes in clothes and am always happy when I walk away from here. read more

The security guard that greets you at the door is very nice and friendly. I do like that they offer wipes to wipe down the shopping carts and hand sanitizer at the check stands. The store is clean and semi-organized. However was disappointed in the lack of variety in the Women's plus size section and how they had regular sizes sitting in the plus size section as well. I even checked out the big and tall section for men's, and they literally only had two items hanging up, everything else was small medium and large sizes. Looking around the store everything seemed to be reasonably priced, but was disappointed as many things I picked up were damaged and still marked as much as the regular non-damaged merchandise. Looking through the men's section, a lot of the clothing seemed to be closed that people did not want, and not very appealing. Even another customer turn to me and asked, "Is this where they dump all the unwanted Goodwill items? " Definitely enjoy shopping for a bargain, was just a little disappointed with this visit. At the checkout, the cashiers were quick and friendly, and signs encouraged you to use the hand sanitizer before using the pin pads on the credit card machines. They do offer touchless payments options as well such as Gpay and Apple pay. Maybe they are lacking stock due to the current shipping crisis, so I definitely will return, but probably will wait until closer to the holidays. Perhaps it's the time of day or because they are pushing for customers to take surveys for the store to win a $1000 Ross spree, whatever the reason, this Ross is exceptionally clean and friendly. Every single time I step in, I'm greeted by the security guard. Every time I check out, I'm asked if I found everything I was looking for and if there is anything else they can do to for me. I had to go back to the line she took me from, but now at the end!! But wait there is more: I had a pair of shoes I decided to buy so I paid for but the price seemed to b w/o taxes: they give 10% discount on Tuesdays. I was not told that! Why? Decent Ross shop. If you go early in the week, supposedly that's when they get new shipments. I wouldn't know sure, but that's what I heard. I don't really shop clothes for myself. However, I needed a green dress shirt for work at the last minute and other clothing shops were near closing - Ross opens late. This location closes at 10pm. On a weekday. The store itself is fairly lit - clean - aisles can be a mess depending where you are. Men's section is pretty small compared to women's section (which is like five times the size of the Men's section) - but then again, guys usually don't shop for themselves. Ross has a very limited dress shirt section - organized by size. Where some dept stores might have like multiple quantities and sizes of any color you can think of, at Ross, there are few colors - and even fewer different sizes they are available in. Luckily, I found a green shirt in the exact neck/arm size I have. They have a cheap electronics/father's day section that I paused in, but didn't find anything notable. Checkout was blah. I mean, it was near the end of the night, the store was fairly crowded, but only one checkout line was open. Usually it helps to have more than one checkout line when its near closing because it helps get shoppers in and out quickly. Ever been to a bank 10 minutes before closing and find only one teller working the line? Yea. That's how I felt here. That's why this Ross loses a few stars. I don't expect first class service, or a associate at my beck and call - but seriously, if the line builds up, people need to step up and open another checkout line to smooth things out. First and foremost you're not coming to Ross for customer serivice. If you want an organized and approachable shopping experience you best head to the department stores, but for those who love hunting for treasure this Ross is defintiely one of the better ones. Trust me I have been to some realy really awful Ross's and this one doesnt' emit any odors like some that I have visited. The bag collection and jewelry selection is where it's at. Some of the degisners I saw included: Betsey Johnson, Juicy Couture, Steve Madden, and Jessica Simpson. While this branch is in a dire need for an upgrade, I do think you can find some hidden gems. I was killing some time before my hair appointment about 1:20pm today so I asked the woman working the dressing room to please put a few items on hold for me just while I was going to get my hair cut at the salon a few doors down and then I'd be right back. Well, to my utter disappointment I went back into this location at 3:14pm, went to the dressing room and lo and behold she put every. single. item. back.... The woman I had put the items on hold with was gone and there was a new clerk in her place (which to be honest was not very kind) telling me the last person before her put them back. Are. You. Was harassed and treated like a criminal for looking poor. Was followed thru the store by an employee just because I had on an old tshirt and shorts and was carrying my book bag. Being poor means i don't have a car and have to walk but my no means does it give a business the right to violate my civil rights. No body cared when I complained.
