Ross Dress for Less, 12632 Totem Lake Blvd NE, Kirkland, WA 98034. I'll begin with a positive, that being the singular cashier I encounter was a lovely person. We bonded over our affinity of coffee; she was definitely the bright spot as we rang up my purchases. I came in to pick up an outfit for a baseball game, impromptu and I hadn't brought a change of clothes. I've avoided Ross Dress for Less, due to the nature of how they treat their patrons. The Tukwila Ross, and the Ross in Oahu, HI. I'm looking at you both! Just know that immediately as you enter the premises, you will be met with an assured and pointed greeting from someone dressed as or cosplaying as security. :-) My attention was grabbed by the display offering assorted men's fragrances, I did a quick search and found a well-reviewed Leather Oud, by Tahari for $10.00 dollars. I actually like it, and its reminiscent to something I have, but is a little bit brighter. So, if you like fragrances, I'd definitely browses Ross's offering. Definitely do a search for price comparisons. Now, if you a person of size, you may have a bit of trouble finding shirts of any style that may or may not fit, I didn't bother to looks, as I took a quick glance and the picking are slim to none. Thats on the buyers for the stores. I did manage to find 2 pairs of pants, in the men's section, unfortunately the choice in sizes is limited as is the color choices. if you're 38 and above, best of luck. On another positive, I did feel like I was able to shop without the usual feeling of being policed by the loss prevention dept. So that was a plus, if i had more time to look around, the store seems to have a pretty good home decor dept. The store was in decent shape and pretty well organized, clean and be prepared to park nowhere near any of the multiple stores in the shopping center. It gets pretty busy midday. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the Kirkland Ross on June 16, 2026 at approximately 4:42 PM. I went to a cashier whose register had just opened. While I was unloading my cart, the cashier asked if I needed a bag. Because she had her back turned to me and was not facing me, I had no idea she was speaking to me. She then turned around and asked again, and I said yes. From that point on, there was virtually no customer service. The cashier never greeted me, never made eye contact, and never acknowledged me. Instead, she carried on a conversation with a fellow employee while bagging my merchandise as if I wasn't even standing there. When she finished bagging my items, she placed the bag on the counter and waited for payment without telling me the total. There was still no eye contact and no communication. I finally asked, "Where is your customer service? At least you can tell me the balance." Her response was, "You can see the amount. I don't have to tell you." After I paid, there was no "thank you,and no acknowledgment whatsoever. I took my bag and immediately asked to speak with the manager because I found the interaction unprofessional and disrespectful. I understand retail employees have busy days, but basic courtesy, eye contact, and communication are fundamental parts of customer service. Looks & feels like a Marshall store. Most items are placed in a more orderly fashion than other Ross shops. There are name brand items to be had for those seeking those items with broad, big, lettering. If I could leave zero stars I would for this MANAGER - CHUCK WEST. I've talked to a few others about this experience and they've said he was just as nasty, rude and made them feel uncomfortable while at this store. Curious about Ross Dress for Less Totem Lake Kirkland, WA I JUST left this location and feel like I have been racially profiled by the manager CHUCK WEST. Is it normal practice for a Ross location to tell you they will no longer allow you to use your own re-usable bag while shopping at checkout? That they will provide you with one at checkout? Then when youre walking around the store not even 5 minutes inside the manager approaches you and let's you know that they're deciding to close the store early? That I have about 30 minutes to shop. As you're looking at different coffee selections that same manager is pretend organizing items and you can feel his energy hovering. Then, when he passes by you he says loud enough for me to hear "camera lock, make sure you're recording" I abandon my cart and go to tell the person I'm with that I think we should leave because this same manager is making me feel uncomfortable and I don't like the energy he's letting off and he said something about recording with the cameras while close to me. As I'm walking out I ask the two clueless cashiers what camera lock means and they refuse to help answer the question and give me their names and call him up. As he walks up I asked him what he meant by passing by me, hovering and saying loud enough "camera lock make sure you record" he responds nothing that concerns you. Then as I look for his name tag CHUCK WEST he tells me not to return to the store. So CHUCK WEST if I was doing nothing wrong then why did you tell me as I entered I could not use a re-usable bag that "YOU" don't allow that, and only gave me 30 minutes to shop and as I asked you why you did what you did CHUCK WEST you ask me not to return?! They got rid of all the checkout clerks, put in you-scans, make you scan your own stuff because why pay to have any employee anymore, and make you stand in an additional line so that they can check your receipt with a security guard because it's always a great business model to treat all customers like they're criminals. read more

Ross is a place where one should come and wander, don't expect to find what you want, and be pleasantly surprised when you do. I never come here expecting to walk in and walk out. It's a combination of treasure and junk, often 50/50 split. Over the years, I have often appreciated their non-clothing items more than their clothing items, which is kind of odd since clothing is their core business. Home goods is my favorite, often inexpensive and a surprisingly reasonable selection. Half the time I am buying things I didn't know existed and would be useful. I don't look at their other areas unless I am looking for something - food items, shoes, luggage, and occasionally clothing. It is messy. It is under-staffed. It is a budget store. Ross knows what I need even before I know I need it! The Thanksgiving items show up in August and September. The perfect ugly sweater outfits appear at Halloween followed quickly by the Valentine's Day decorations. This particular Ross appears to be stocked with lots of clothes, children toys, dishes, furniture, rugs, bedding and the list goes on and on. It's always fun to look for new, cool items at discounted prices. There's always a deal to be had and seriously..I have seen designer items such as Gucci, Versace, Prada at marked down up to 85% of the retail price. Bought quite a bit and asked for assistance to the car, but was told by the female cashier, "No, we don't usually do that. " Poor customer service all around. Early in my shopping expedition here, I asked a female clerk where the paper towel holders were and she could speak no English at all and did not understand what I was saying . At all. When I approached the cashier stand, the manager thought that was a good moment to instruct the cashier on the duties she would be required to perform after she was done checking me out. Nothing here makes any sense, everyone is either Russian Or Hispanic and it's no wonder the shelves are disheveled and not sorted. There must be a communication problem somewhat similar to the one that I encountered! Staff: Good + Bad Environment: VERY Messy. Like your kid's room. Changing Rooms: NONE Price: Socks (Not very cheap) Review: TRIED to do my Christmas Shopping in there. Was quite hard... got socks. My introverted self went to self check out. South American Guy with a heavy accent was manning the station. I went up and scanned it... It didn't beep so i tried again. System was slow... then it beeped 2 times. Oops... South American associate was pissed. "SCAN IT ONCE" he said in a not so very nice tone. Then he told us to use the other self check out station... "use the other station". He kept rushing us even though there was no one behind us in line. Which was okay, I guess he values efficiency. I went to the other station. Scanned the first pair of socks. Waited 5 seconds. BEEP. Next pair. Tried to scan it. Doesn't Work. The South American associate w heavy accent starts yapping. "Rose tag. Scan the Rose tagggg-uh". I probably would've figured it out if he didn't start distracting me but it took me 30 seconds and a Ross security to tell me that I was trying to scan the brand barcode for the socks instead of the ROSS TAG. I was like oh oops. . . Needless to say, Dude's customer service skills needs a bit of polishing. Also idk if he had a bad day or something but he was really grouchy for no reason. Like bud what'd i ever do to u. But there is one thing that helped me... Give this place 1 star. And that was this dude working security. ZERO STARS. This Ross location has messed up employees. I have been a loyal customer to Ross since I was a kid. I've always used their "Return & EXCHANGES" line for exchanges. I was there yesterday on a busy day to make returns and purchase a pillow. I waited in line for 10 minutes before security told me I needed to leave if I was purchasing. I said, this says exchanges too. Security told me to get out rudely, that it was for RETURNS ONLY, and go into the purchase line that was now 20-30 people long. I asked the cashier what their policy was and he said it was returns only. I called the manager at this location and he said it was for returns only unless I was exchanging the exact same item in a different size. Never heard of this policy before. This is a lie, as I went to the location in Woodinville that said it was not true. It says RETURNS AND EXCHANGES and I was not allowed to make my exchange at this store. AVOID this place at all costs. Terrible people with fake rules and completely wasted 40 minutes of my time yesterday. read more

I visited Ross Dress for Less to get my friend's young daughter a birthday present, and the toy selection was decent. I was able to quickly find a last-minute gift at a discounted price, which was exactly what I was hoping to snag. This Ross Dress for Less location is in the Totem Lake shopping center, so parking is easy to find, since there's plenty of it with the center's shared lot. While in the area I was running some errands and getting a gift for my friend's daughter was on my list. I wasn't able to find much for a child at the other stores, so decided to check out nearby Ross. The store was slightly disorganized, at least, in the back area where the toys and home accessories were. There were a couple long tables, stacked with toys and then the toy section is just filled with miscellaneous items on the shelves. You really have to dig deep to find something here. The home accessories area was even more disorganized, with items that were misplaced and it was untidy. But for the most part, I was able to find a gift and have options. Overall, this wouldn't be my ideal place to shop at. But if in the area, this is a fine place to check out what they offer for gifts, especially since prices are affordable. read more

The Ross at Totem Lake is remodeling the Ladies Dressing rooms. This means that everyone is being directed into the Men's dressing rooms- and there are not enough dressing rooms available. Even worse at one point there was no one to direct the traffic when people were literally standing in line. There were women who were panicking over going into the largest dressing room clearly marked "men's". I tried to help another customer and had an extremely bad experience in part because of her cultural background and fears. The women's restroom was extremely messy with trash everywhere even in the stalls. When a store is impacted, as clearly this Ross is, by being in the middle of a construction project- which includes a significant re-modeling- there should be additional staff on hand to handle the situation. Clearly this was not considered by the management responsible for these decisions. I am sure that the employees were doing there best but clearly there were simply too few of them. read more

The last few times I have been in this ross has been horrible. They use to have a great selection of plus size clothes. I have barely found anything on the racks. Generally, they have a great dress selection and they litteraly had nothing. When asking why such slim pickings the sales associate said they have not received any shipments. The self checkout experience is less that stellar. I went to checkout and the guy working there stopped me and pointed at a sign. The sign said stop, security tags will be removed and receipts will be checked. I said ok and tried to scan the items as that's what happens at the other Ross and every other establishment like target - you scan the items and pay and then they take the tags off. He just kept pointing at the sign and not sayin any words and acted like he didn't speak English. He was pointing and saying don't you understand, this first you understand, don't be mad, don't be mad and I told him he was very rude and he said no it's the company I said no you are rude the sign says the receipt will be checked implying you need to scan the items first and he couldn't be bothered to explain when both myself and the people with me had no clue what he was trying to say by just tapping his marker on the sign several times. I kind of like Ross. It's not my FIRST " go to" Place that I think of. But I have shopped there MANY MANY TIMES, More than I can count in the last 40 years. But I always feel like I'm in another country when I shop at ROSS lol. NO ONE- speaks English in the Washington state stores. NO ONE! Lol. Neither the cashiers or the shoppers. This international shopping experience has only happened in the last 10 years or so lol. It's Not a bad thing. BUT- for some of the cashiers / I can't decipher WTH they r TRYING so hard to SAY! Lololol. I can't imagine moving to another country as an adult and learning their language. So thumbs up to them for that! . But it does slow things down A LOT during the already slow holidays! Lol. But u can find some interesting home decor there. Couches love seats, even lounges, and other sorta of plush chairs. But - they r smaller than what u would normally furnish a house with, which Is perfect for condos and apartments. U get the big house style, but the right fit for ur home- down sized just a bit. They SEEM to be well made. But don't know how well they would hold up under kids or pets lol. U may not find it the first time u visit. But they get new things in every week. Clothing, furniture,bedding bathrooms kitchens all of it. some for the more " normal " or more unique vision too. So if u havnt been to a Ross yet, go. They took all the locks off of their dressing room doors, half of which were filled with boxes and used for storage. Everything was dirty and I didn't want my own clothes to touch the surfaces there because of how dirty it was. Dust and hair everywhere. Their ceiling signs didn't match the location of the actual shelves under them. They do have a decent selection of random items which can be fun to look through but the locks on the dressing rooms being taken off is concerning. They already count the items you take into the rooms and give you a tag with the number of items on it so I don't know how taking off the locks helps prevent theft. The area is not unsafe and the rest of the stores in the area don't have this problem or vibe from what I've seen. read more

This store is relatively clean and has a decent layout. One thing I don't usually like for Ross stores generally is that there's no discernible order for how stuff is arranged on the rack. That said, it's usually busy when I go into this one, so it's totally possible that it's customers who are randomly putting stuff back wherever, so the store looks disorganized, but you'd think that someone who worked at the store would help fix that. Customer service has been okay; they're usually civil but not noticeably friendly or rude. If you end up with tons of stuff to try on the people at the fitting rooms are usually happy to hold onto a basketful of you stuff while you try on other things. However, checkout lines can be pretty long, with only 2-3 counters open (and a line of about 6-7 people). With its shared parking lot with the mall there's plenty of parking to be had. read more

This is the worst ! They have left security tags on more than one item I've purchased here . I bought the one item before Christmas and didn't realize till wrapping the gift that it had the security tag on it . Chucky the manager was zero help and told me I need to go through my cc so they can go through dates and times and check cameras . REALLY ! This was their mistake not mine and now I get to spend more time fixing their mistake . I also feel the need to mention this was a baby outfit that was less than 10 dollars. This place was the highlight of my day. I didn't realize it was exactly what I was looking for but it was. I have a funny experience to tell though, and it involves a little something called human error. I went in just for window shopping but of course that is almost impossible to do in the store without falling in love with everything on the shelves. There wasn't a single item I didn't find interesting, useful or somehow applicable to my life. I ended up perusing the outside aisle first and found some lovely lavender moisturizer oil that was the first thing to hit my yes button. But then I kept seeking ( it wasn't really on the list but you know how it is...) low and behold what did I find but a pair of K Swiss tennis shoes that have been on my radar for sometime. I knew this was a direct message from god...saying to me " must". So without further adieu, I quickly set aside the oil for the shoes. The excitement of seeing them and trying them on ( the size was smaller than my usual shoe size...size 7 and not the usual 9) had me so flabbergasted that I half hazardly placed the oil in my pocket. Quickly forgotten. I went to the register, giddy with my finding of the shoes , and walked out without paying for the oil that was absently placed in my pocket. I should tell you the minute I realized I had left without paying for the oil, I had the help of a very kind bus driver ( thank you metro and your hybrid bus) an LG trac phone and the help of Kirkland fire and medic one, to make it right. I immediately called the store to report the incident, offering to pay over the phone, but sweet Holli, the employee that took my call, was so gracious and sweet. She didn't make me feel bad about it at all. We agreed to meet within the hour where I could settle up my tab. She was amazing. Thank you Holli for making a very awkward situation fun and hospitable. I'm not in love with this place. But given it's convenience to my apt, if I have an hour to kill, I usually stop by once a month or so. Sadly, I may be the Duchess. I usually come in looking for clothes. Mainly tops and dresses. Sure, they're poor quality, but what do you expect for a top that's $8 and a dress that's $12? I've gotten some cute things here, but I've always though the selection, organization, and cleanliness was better at the Redmond location. Ross is good for random crap you don't *need*, but really want. Like new luggage for half price, kitchen stuff, fleece sheets, hello kitty slippers, etc. The prices are good, and the location is convenient if you are in Totem Lake. If you aren't in Totem lake, probably go to another Ross, but not the one in Downtown or Tukwila, those ones are really gross. read more

First time visitor, but I liked the store. Decent collection, clean and well organized. I know other reviewers commented on the messiness of the store so I'm thinking - Was I just lucky .....oh wait, it was a weekday. What I did not like: 1) There is no mirror in the store. None whatsoever! Sometimes they have what I want, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I find something I didn't expect to be there. Lines can be long, aisles can be full (of people), but the store is kept clean and the staff is somewhat pleasant. (There are a few ladies that are kinda intimidating). There isn't a Ross store back at home so I've never been to a store like Ross before. I did go to the one in Redmond, (I actually felt like I was doing something wrong for not going to "My" Ross store) and their is one in Woodinville really close. Today is 12/17/2019 I got off from work with my work clothes and I stop by Ross in totem Lake. I went in and bought a pair of shoes for my boys. I went to the cashier to pay for the shoe, this lady she was rude because the shoe the tag had the price on it. She is trying to peel off the pricing and I asked her what wrong? She says to me just check the price. I said to her is the price of the tags. I think she was thinking, I was cheating on the price and I was asking her what's going on. I don't shop at Ross' often, and as far as Ross' go, the shopping floor was fine overall. The long check-out line moved rather quickly, and prices are inexpensive. The reason I only gave this Ross' two stars had to do with my experience in the dressing room. (Side note- even if I wasn't pregnant, the smell in the dressing room was enough to turn anyone's stomach. It smelled like someone had gone to the bathroom in the dressing room. The changing rooms were not super clean, and I wouldn't dream of sitting on one of the benches in the room.) The big problem I ran into was the overzealous dressing room attendant. I had 10 items, and only 8 are allowed. No big deal. I left two, and she told me I could change out two items for the other two as soon as I was done. Great! :-) However, when I finished trying on all my clothes and handed my unwanted items back to her, she asked me for my card (the one that specifies how many items of clothing you're trying on). She hadn't given me one, so I kindly told her that I didn't have one. She proceeded to interrogate me about it in an accusatory way, acting like I was trying to "pull something over her". Finally, after I told her again that she didn't give me a card, she stared, unbelievingly, at me and asked, "Are you sure?" I finally laughed (because I couldn't believe how ridiculous this was) and assured her that yes, I was sure. She didn't seem to believe me even then, and proceeded to tell me that in the future I needed to ask her for a card, because otherwise she and I had a problem. I'm not easily offended, but her behaviour made me feel like an unruly schoolgirl, instead of a mom shopping for a cheap pair of maternity shorts. I love when people take their jobs seriously, but this was absurd. I, unfortunately, had to try on another item. When I finished, she seemed to be giving another girl a hard time regarding a card. The theft management guy was even there. (He was very gracious, and seemed a little confused as to why he was there.) As I waited to give back my card, it seemed that the girls had left their card in a room, and it was gone when they went to retrieve it. Perhaps this location has to deal with nasty or thieving customers, but a little understanding and professionalism goes a long way. read more
