Customer service is awful!! I came to the store to return couple of things. I waited in line to get to the registry. When I get to the registry, she was not speak English, but what I understood she cannot do return and have to wait for somebody else. There was another person getting involved and told me we have to wait for another person. I was waiting for 10 minutes, then come back to the same person and she told me she went to the restroom. Then I asked her maybe you should page somebody else to help me, then she started arguing. Then another persons came and she said she is assistant manager. She told me I have to go back in line with another 30 minutes wait and then she will do return. I told her I was in line already, before she came and waited for her. Then she started arguing with me. I went to return an item and the associate ( Marcela) was rude and unprofessional no greeting no explanation just attitude. It left a bad impression and made the entire interaction uncomfortable. I've shopped here many times and have never had an issue until today. I went in to do some shopping and tried on a few things in the fitting room. When I came out, I realized I didn't have my purse. I asked the lady in charge of the fitting rooms if I could go back in and check, but she told me no. I explained that I had left my purse and thought it might be in one of the rooms, but she continued to refuse my request. I asked if she could please check, especially since there were still people using the fitting rooms, but she simply repeated, "no." Eventually, she mentioned that the manager would check the camera footage. I was anxious, fearing my purse might be stolen, especially since people were still allowed to enter the fitting rooms. While I was waiting, the manager stepped out with my purse. I asked her who had turned it in, and she pointed to the same woman in charge of the fitting room. I couldn't believe that the whole time I had been asking for help, the woman had known where my purse was, yet she refused to let me check. I had only been in there for about 10 minutes, and she saw me go in with my purse. Once I got my purse back, I looked inside and realized my wallet was missing. I asked if anyone had turned in a wallet or if the woman had seen it, but they responded with a lot of attitude, saying no. I was trying my hardest to be professional, even though I was freaking out and I've never had somebody be so rude to me in a retail store. I've worked in retail for over seven years and I have never seen management treat a customer like that.This company really needs to improve its loss prevention strategies and train employees on how to handle situations better. The sales clerk are either rude or do not know how to respect and communicate with customers. On 6/3 around 7:00pm, very bad experience on conducting return business in that store. They did not tell customers in line about not processing returns until reaching the checkout clerk after 20 minutes in line. The clerk said "go to other stores or come back later days". On 6/4 around 11:45am, the clerk who was working behind the counter in the front customer service area shouted "Do not slam our equipment!" when I pushed in the stuck out counter door in order to ask her if return is working today! I love this Ross, but today I decided to finally rate it because I am just happy. I applied for the credit card , yes they now have a credit cards options ! I know huh ? AMAZING!!! Well I was the first customer to get it since it today was the first day of this new implementation. I am very happy. I got approved! I will say I couldn't add the credit card to my wallet and after a few minutes of confusion I had to call customer service. The customer service for the Mastercard was amazing by the way. When my husband tried to pay it couldn't be added. We spend 3 hours in total trying to figure it out.... The customer service closed so I have to come back tomorrow and finalize my purchase. On Saturday March 1st, 2025. My sister got off of work and she needed to go and buy more pants for work. She decided to go to the Ross in Mountain View 230pm. She was looking around the store and found 3 pair of jean pant that she wanted to try on. She decided to go to the fitting room to try the pants on. She had a total of 3 pants. There was 2 jean pants and one black pair of pants. There was a women standing in front of my sister who had some clothes that she wanted to try on. My sister went into the fitting room and tried on all the pants and she comes out and the employee who was a short Hispanic woman who was in her late 50 or early 60's wearing glasses, with light brown hair. When my sister came out of the dressing room she approached my sister and said to her "You had 4 pair of pants." My sister said "No I didn't I only had 3 pair of pants." The employee accused my sister of stealing pants. The Ross employee starting patting my sister down touching her legs, going into her pants pulling her night pants that my sister wears underneath her sweats because she's always cold. My sister was highly upset. She kept telling the lady that she did not have 4 pair or pants she only had 3. The disrespectful employee snatched my sister's pants out of her hands and throw them into a basket. My sister was getting really loud with her and my sister said in a loud tone "What is your problem? I need to speak to your manager now. I said I need to speak with your manager right now." The women just walked away from my sister and she would not listen to her when she told her that she did not have 4 pair of pants she only had 3. My sister proceeded to the front of the store and asked to speak with a manager. She tried to tell the manager Tanya who is a Hispanic women who's heavy set, her English is that good simply ignored my sister. She clearly did not care about what transpired with my sister. My sister called me and told me everything that happened and I drove down to Mountain View and went to the fitting room to speak to the women that touched and disrespected my sister. She refused to come out and apologize to my sister. I went back to the front of the store and I asked to speak with the manager and she was helping customers instead of getting another employee so she can see exactly what happened to my sister. I finally got her attention, and I told her if she did not go get the employee so she can explain what transpired I was going to call the police, and we were going to file a complaint and file charges against the employee. Tanya the Hispanic women said that she was going to go to the back and speak with the employee. My sister and I were waiting for more than 20 minutes for the manager to come back to the front. I decided to call the store and ask for the manager and she picked up the call. She said she will be with back in the front in a minute. She finally came out and apologized. She said that she reviewed the camera and said she's going to call the police. I said good! Okay what did she say and why isn't she up here apologizing to my sister? She said she spoke with the employee and she said it was a misunderstanding. There was 2 people that went into the dressing room and the other women said that she had 4 items to try on and got confused. I said "That is no excuse for her to touch my sister and snatch the clothes out of her hands like she did." Tanya said she's going to call the police and let them handle it. My sister and I was waiting more than 20 minutes for the cops to come and guess what they never came. The manager Tanya came up to my sister and said " Oh wow they're taking such a long time they should've been here by now." So I started thinking that she never contacted the police. I decided to call the Mountain View police department and I told the officer exactly what happened this was at 3:31pm. I asked the officer did the manager of Ross contacted them. She said "No we did not receive a phone call to come out to that location." The manager never called the police. The manager is a liar and I have no respect for her. There was 2 officers that showed up. One was a African American male and the other was a Hispanic female officer. We gave our details to the officer and the female officer went inside of the store to speak to the manager and the employee. She returned 10 minutes later and said that she reviewed the footage and couldn't see what happened. She also said that the Fitting Room employee asked permission from my sister to search her body. This employee lied. My sister NEVER GAVE HER PERMISSION to search or touch any parts of her body. If she gave her permission to do anything like that she wouldn't have called me and got really upset. I will never go back to this store. This store has nothing but a racist manager and racist employees who discriminates against African American people with dreads. Don't shop here! Ross is one of those places that's hit or miss. So all you need is patience for a deal. The only thing about this place that slightly differed was the large amount of Coach jackets and bags. They're all placed at the front next to the security folks and threaded with the security lines. Other than that, it's a typical Ross, with shoes, bags, clothes, etc. This time, I picked up a lot of work out clothes that were on sale and unfortunately I came during a peak time which meant the purchase line was long and slow which sadly is on par with other places. Parking is crazy here though. Since it's in the same lot as the Costco, at peak times, you're going to have to battle it out. There are also restaurants as well so, make sure you're patient in the lot as well. Overall, I'm always all for a Ross. So it's not like I'd go out of my way to go here, but it's nice to stop by if I'm going to the Costco. read more

The manager's attitude is terrible! The Ross Store manager GWEN at the Mountain View store is really terrible. In order to return the items, I went to the Ross store at Mountain View 4 times, and the clerk there told me that they couldn't make returns because the computer was broken. When I went there for the fourth time, the clerk told me that I couldn't get cash back since one day overdue. I just tried to explain to her. The clerk showed me her bad attitude and no patience at all. She didn't listen to me, and said it was none of her fault. The manager came, not only did she not solve the problem, on the contrary, she even said that she would not return the items for me! What surprised me even more was that she ordered me to leave. I can't believe that the Store manager GWEN treat customer like this. What I did was explaining to the clerk that I made four trips for the return. Not only did the manager not apologize, she also treated me rudely, with an extremely bad attitude. Anyway, because I tried explaining to them, the manager GWEN refused to make return for me. I don't even have the right to speak. When I asked her to provide complaint information, she ignored me. The manager's attitude so surprised me. This attitude and behavior of the manager GWEN really damages the image of Ross. ROSS has the worst customer service ever. read more

By far the worst Ross in the state of California, and that's coming from me visiting over 12 different Rosses just in the state of California so far and counting. Small little store, was perusing through the store and when I was finally ready to go pay, it was about 3:13pm on March 22. I was standing in line, behind 5 other customers (not together). Behind me there were about 3 other guests. At the time, there were only one register open, cashier's name was Nancy. The customers she was ringing up at the time had quite a bit of things. I get it, it's a small store so staffing is slim. As Nancy was still working on ringing up her current customer, the line started getting longer and longer. It got to a point there was at least 20 different parties waiting in line to cash out. I thought it was odd. Even the Lost Prevention person was confused. He did mention someone was on a lunch break. Another worker walk through one of the open registers and asked Nancy "should I open another register?" That alone, I thought that was a stupid question to ask when you have a lot people in line waiting to cash out as the line continued to get longer. Nancy replied, "go drop all those things off first in your hands and then come back and open up a register". I'm thinking, why not just drop it off behind the counter and start assisting customers to shorten the line down. Shake my head. Meanwhile, line is still getting longer. By the time it got to us to get rung up, 20 minutes later, we get to Nancy. She says "thank you for waiting" and starts ringing up our stuff. She scans 2 items and and looks over at her phone as she received a text. She says "I'm sorry, my manager is texting me, I'll be right back." I responded, "does your manager not see there's a long line of people trying to pay for their items?" Nancy proceeds "I'm sorry, I'll be right back". So we're basically waiting in line until she comes back. Meanwhile, the other register is going through people. We look at the other cashier with confusion as she rings up about 4 different customers that were behind us. We asked, "uh, can we get rung up next? Nancy needed to meet the manager and didn't bother to finish up with us first." The cashier looked confused as if she thought we were tryna cut the line when we were clearly in line before the people behind us and Nancy put us at a halt, while people behind us were going past us through the new register. A few more guests pass by, the cashier then tells the people in line, "I will ring this couple up as they were waiting before you, thank you for waiting" The newer cashier (sorry didn't catch her name) then says "I'm sorry for the wait, did you find everything you were looking for?" I wanted to say "yeah, where's the idiot manager who thought it was a great idea to take out one and the only cashier to the back while in the middle of the long line of people trying to pay" but I didn't, hence why we're here now. By the time we were done paying, Nancy still had not shown back to the register and I witnessed several customers walking out leaving their items in line on the shelves not wanting to wait any longer. It was the worst experience of my life in a retail store. Never going back there ever again. read more

This location just opened today, 07/18/15!! Pros: 1.) The checkout clerks were friendly. 2.) The selection was vast (ended up with a lot of great workout gear). Cons: 1.) The size of the store seems smaller than the old location. 2.) The parking lot is small and shared with several other large retailers (ex. Costco), so it can be a zoo. Both clerks were rude (morning shift, Monday 9/26/22) and did everything possible to make me wait. I know the procedure for taking customers who are waiting in both returns and purchases. This twit with the ponytail and her partner took everyone in the purchase line (about 5 people) BEFORE she allowed me to come forward. When I returned to the line to purchase, the bob-haired twit ORDERED me out of line to find out where the security officer put my shoes, and she took the next customer. I am so glad this Ross opened up so close to me. I was looking forward to having a retail store like this, as there really isn't anything similar nearby. I agree with others that the aisles are tight, but it doesn't bother me too much. In terms of comparing this store to other Ross stores this store is leaps and bounds better, it actually HAS merchandise. I stopped shopping at Ross stores about 10 years ago. Every time I would go to one, it would be half empty, boring cheap crap. I wondered how this company ever survived when so many others were failing? So when I saw the "Ross coming soon" sign I was like, ugh, not a Ross! But I gave it a chance, about a week after they opened up I went shopping and found about $300 worth of great merchandise. No kidding. I found some beautiful dresses, kitchen items marked at least 50% off normal retail, perfumes, etc. Hopefully this place stays great. But to those saying it's over stuffed....would you prefer weirdly empty? My opinion is, keep is stocked with good merchandise, and you will do fine Ross. I always come here and have always had a pleasant experience except for here and there but yesterday I went and had a horrible service. As it was my turn to be rung up one of the cashiers left I thought no big deal probably a break but the other cashier told her she had to stay a register instead of of doing the go backs cause it was getting busy. She looked visibly upset and then called for the next customer I went up gave her a huge smile and said "hi how is your day going" she completely ignored me and gave me a nasty expression and started scanning all my items. To say this new location is 'stuffed' with merchandise really undersells it. It's so stuffed the aisles are to thin to push a shopping cart through many of them. But unlike the old location there's actually things here you want to buy! My GF has found a few outfits the couple of times we've gone. I've found shoes and several nice skulls for my desk. The most boring Ross I have even been to (and i have really been to many!). This one i found it very organized, very clean, very Marshallsy looking but then...no much material. Maybe I went during a bad day where they were waiting for merchandise to fill those empty shelves, but got out only with a (cute, though) shirt. This is my first time a a Ross store, and I had a great experience overall. I came in initially to look for expensive soccer cleats on clearance which are a rare find. I wasn't expecting to find any cleats so I was not disappointed when I didn't find any. I then looked in the men's clothing section and found two amazing light jackets, both branded with soccer teams. I found a Tottenham Hotspur pull-over for $30 that retails for $90. I also bought a Barcelona zip up sweatshirt for $20 that probably retails for about $60. The store also had many large-name brands such as Nike and Under Armor apparel for very discounted prices, so if you are looking for high quality clothing for cheap I'd recommend Ross. I am planning to return about once a month to see if the store gets any new clothing or shoes. read more

I was looking forward to the new store as I felt the one at San Antonio Shopping Center was sub-par to many other locations. I was very disappointed in this new store. It is smaller and the aisles are too narrow. It makes it difficult to browse as you have to move if a cart comes down the aisle. This alone is a huge drawback. Merchandise was all over the place and a mess. The parking lot is shared with Costco and others stores so parking is difficult. This won't be a store I go to frequently. read more
