We came into the store to try out a different t-shirt size for my hubby as I bought him a sampler of white T-shirts for Christmas. The deals for Black Friday is definitely worth it for Ts but I snoozed a bit and still got a quasi good sale price during December. Anyhoo, we decided to come in and just get a few of a specific shirt with the sale online being almost comparable to the price I paid. L O C A T I O N Banana Republic Factory Store is located in Great Mall on the east side of the mall. I usually park at Marshalls and then walk to the right. I N S I D E Layout seems to mimic GAP considering they are part of the same company. Women's on the right side and men's on the left. Unfortunately the sale they had online for an extra 40% off was not applicable in store so we ended up doing a return of all the shirts I had and bought 3 of one type of shirt online and did a pick up in store. It was pretty instant. As soon as I entered the order, one of the store associates was about to fulfill our order when we just told him that it was in our hands. So we didn't wait at all as it wasn't a busy day. He packed up our shirts and then just verified my order with my ID and we were off. S E R V I C E Returns was seemless and easy. Ordering online and pick up was also very quick. Again it's also because it wasn't super busy when we did our order so it was instantaneous. O V E R A L L Not a bad place to go in store to pick up online orders for Banana Republic Factory. I've done so in the past. Sometimes the online prices are better that in the store and sometimes it's the opposite. It's definitely a gamble. Good customer service here. Today I came into the store to return an item I bought online. There was only 1 person ahead of me, and the return was hassle free. I walked around the store a bit and was impressed by their inventory. There's a mens and womens section, and everything was pretty organized. If I had more time, I would have browsed around a little more, but these days I practically buy everything online. read more

One of my favorite stores; the shipment arrived as I was coming inside! I found some adorable things to launch me into spring and summer, and they were already 40 percent off. I like what they offer in the Khaki attire here because it's feminine, and I like that. One more thing, the clothes are unique, more tapered and chic. This Banana Republic is spacious. You have the men's section on one side and the women's on the other. The sale section here is unbeatable. read more

Called them next day early in the morning and requested a cancellation (the order hasn't been processed yet when I called). I'm a fan of Old Navy and Gap for easy basics but I never thought I'd be able to afford Banana Republic. After moving to Norcal, I learned that my boyfriend lives near the Great Mall, which houses a BR Outlet store! Prices are a lot better than a regular store, but last weekend I did the unthinkable and visited during Labor Day weekend to snag some work clothes on serious discount. The place was packed and chaotic, to say the least. But I think for the prices and the quality of the clothes, it was worth diving headfirst into that chaos for a few hours. I was able to find everything I needed in the Petite section (I can only fit in Petite clothes). Hopefully, BR will expand the Petite section of the store in the future! It's a pretty standard Banana Republic-organized sweaters, shirts, scarves and pants -so you know that you're in the right place from the moment that you enter its doors. And right now, after browsing through, the discounts are so good that you should jump on them! The shifty part, for me, was that the staff did seem a little bit distant -nobody greeted me on the way in; however, someone did tell me to have a "good day" when I left, so that slightly made up for it. read more

I really love BR and can't believe I hadn't reviewed this store. Full disclosure I come here probably too often but the deals are good and the quality is great. I first started shopping at BR for their Sloan pants that fit perfectly but then became a fan of everything else. I never find anything at the BR at Valley Fair so I usually only come here because I always find something. Note: if you see something you like, buy it then & there because things do not last. This is a busy mall so if you wait a week, chances are it will be gone! They have a great clearance section and the closest entrance is the Pho 44 next in between Marshalls & Bounce o Rama. read more

Terrible customer service. The woman was giving me dirty looks and was very short in response when I asked for help. She also had a very sassy tone and was not friendly in any way. Maybe she was having a bad day but it made ended up making my day bad which was the last thing I was expecting to get from coming into the store. I wish I got her name to report but unfortunately I did not but she was red-headed so I hope management takes note of this and figures out who this is so she can face the consequences. I just shopped here this morning for Black Friday. Wow, they were pretty organized at this store. There was a lot less clothes on the floor compared to other stores in the Great Mall. We stood in line to get into the store as they controlled the crowds. But once we got into the store, it was very roomy as their staff controlled the number of people in the store. This also made the check out line feel more comfy because we didn't have to stand in a line that wrapped around the whole store. The selection at this factory store is a little limited because I didn't find everything I wanted compared to the normal store in Valley Fair Mall. But what can I say.... it's an outlet so I can't expect the world. read more

As part of the franchise that includes Old Navy and Gap, the Banana store as they call it is more high-end. The fact that it's a "factory" store means that quality is down while cost is down. It is also important to know that merchandise that you purchase from a "factory" store can only be returned/exchanged at a "factory" store. Service is great. One of the helpful employees gave me suggestions of what to get for my sister for mother's day. A gift from my niece to her mom. One thing to note though is that in addition to the regular cashiers at the front of the store, there is a kiosk towards the middle of the store that serves the same purpose. Love this store. OK - I have to vent a bit... they bill themselves as an "outlet" or a "factory store" implying that the items they stock are Banana Republic clothes that didn't sell at the regular store, or whatever. However, folks, be forewarned, these are not BR clothes. Yes, they might be made by BR, but they aren't what you find at the regular store. There is a small sign up on the wall that says "The Banana Look for Less" and then if you read the tags, they all say something like "Comparable Style Price $$" - and they are all pre-printed. It's not a BR tag that's been marked down over and over and now it's at the outlet... That being said, I have found some cute things here, for work and casual, but the quality varies quite a bit. Somethings were right up there with normal BR quality and then others were a little...off. It seemed to be more obvious with the women's dept. than the men's. At least the Gap went ahead and created a whole separate store for their lower quality line, Old Navy, instead of faking you out. BTW, the Gap does this too - there's not much, if any actual "Gap" clothing at the Outlets- it's stuff made for there. Oh, and beware of the customer who wants the checker to scan every single item since they can't do the basic math to figure out what 40% off of $39.99 is and then decide item by item whether they want it or not... I only get stuff here for work clothes. They are still expensive, but much more affordable than other places that I have been ($200 + suits). I got a jacket, pants and 2 shirts for $150. The place is very organized. The staff are always putting the clothes in the correct place, so you know that you won't get bombarded with all these clothes, and you can't find the one that you really want. If you love BR and need some new work clothes - this is the place to update your closet at a great deal. Bare in mind - this is an Outlet and it is ALWAYS madness at The Great Mall. The madness starts in the parking lot. Seriously, no matter what time of the day you get here, it takes forever to find a parking spot. This BR is always a mess - granted there's probably 100+ people rummaging thru all the racks and even with the number of sales people they have on the floor, there are clothes everywhere including the ground. But the patient ones are always the ones that get rewarded. So I need some new work clothes, and hit up this BR outlet this past Memorial Day Weekend. I must say this was probably my best shopping trip in a while. So the store was having extra 40% off all clearance plus 50%-60% the rest of the items in the store. I managed to walk away with the following Tan Jacket + Pant Suit: Outlet reg price of $230 Dressy Top: Outlet Price of $35 Dressy Skirt: Outlet price of $70 3 Dress Shirts: Outlet price of $44.99 each And being a BR Card holder they sent me a 20% coupon I could use on top of all the sales, so my total came out a few pennies under $100!!!! Seriously, usually I can't walk away from the regular BR store with just the suit jacket for $100. But here, I got all of the above WITH TAX for just under $100. 5 Stars for the steals and deals you will find, but minus 1 star for the headache you will get from the mess and lack of air circulation in there. read more

This was my first time shopping at Banana because I always thought they were overpriced. I only came here because it was an outlet and when we entered the store, a sales associate greeted us and informed us we could find additional discounts online. My friends and I searched and found a coupon for an additional 40% off the transaction. what a great deal! I found 5 sweaters and paid around $60 for everything! I really like the customer service they provide (especially for an outlet store). Outlets are fun, and BR is no exception. However, let's talk ONE cashier and a long line. What the heck is that? That gives you time to debate your purchases, the longer you are waiting in line for them. If you take away the impulse and excitement in shopping, then really what is left? Their finds are great, their women's section is bigger than the men's. That seems to be happening a lot in retail, lately. Very, very good place for workwear options. You can pull out that uniformally structured look and pop out some hits of color. As for expectations, any experienced shopping will know that outlets take lots of effort and digging sometimes. Gotta love that they have a BR outlet within the Bay Area. We came this weekend and the whole frickin store was 40% off!! WTF! I was in disbelief and in heaven at the same time. Too bad I was freaking out cuz I didn't bring my cell phone and I had lost everyone I was with, since I was so excited about the sale I started browsing and then couldn't find anyone and was scared cuz I couldn't call anyone to find out where they were and they couldn't call me to find me! I used to never step foot in here but now that I need work clothes, this is my go to place and I have to stop by if I'm at the great mall. Every time I come here I end up spending money. There's always some kind of % off deal going on. I usually never see employees on the floor so I have to search for one when I need help. Also this past weekend there were tons of people there for the 30% off your entire purchase thing but the fitting room attendant kept leaving for long periods of time even though the line was so long. She also looked completely emotionless, I've been in retail and I know it sucks but I mean a smile once in a while wouldn't hurt.... If you have a husband who prefers to wear button down shirts and business casual slacks to work, then this is definitely the place to go!!! We spent a buttload of money at the regular BR store at Valley Fair a couple months ago to buy their dress shirts because their "slim fit" is the only type of shirt that fits well on my husband. Although they were having a 30% off entire store sale the day that we went, we still had to pay around $49 per shirt, and slacks still came out to be around $80 a pair. But, I heard from my coworker last week that the BR Outlet was having a 60% off sale, so I decided to skip on over after work and check it out. And sure enough, almost the entire store was 60% off! I ended up buying 8 more slim fit dress shirts for $25 each and business casual slacks for $30 each. I also included a couple polo shirts for $12 each. I had a 15% off coupon off my entire purchase, so I walked away with a big smile on my face. It was such a steal! The husband tried on all the purchases when I got home and to our surprise, everything fit just the same as what we got from the BR store! We usually just assume that things are slightly different when you get them at the outlet, but all the items I bought were still in top-notch quality. "Authentic" or not, their sales are freakin' crazzzzzzzy. I only shop for the boyfriend (during their sales), but from what I've seen they offer excellent, cheap office attire for women as well. I've only been to a non-outlet Banana Republic store a few times and have very rarely ever bought anything because their stuff is so damn expensive (even with the sales). So, it was a relief to be able to buy clothes of comparable quality and style without spending loads (everything I've ever bought was as low as $10 and under $50) . You really can't tell the difference. Also, sizes run a little big. But that hasn't been too much of a problem. Just go down a size or tow. read more

I have been to a number of BR outlets and this is probably my least favorite. It always seems a bit disorganized and chaotic. Forgot going during the weekend rush! Service is just 'ok' - not super helpful or friendly. With that said, you can still usually find a deal or two since they have the standard items. read more

I like this BR Factory. They have a pretty good selection and they seem to be on sale every week. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends but don't let the lines scare you, stick around cause the line moves very fast. I recommend shopping here during anytime of the season because they always have nice stuff and like i said it is always on sale. read more

My girl was at work, so I kept trying things on and asking the girls working the fitting room for their input. They were honest and didn't just say everything looked great so I would buy more stuff. Worst customer service ever!!! I stopped going to this location about a year ago due to horrible customer service and attitude from employees. Last time I literally returned items right after I paid for them because cashier was throwing them into shopping bag like a piece or trash and when I asked her why is she doing it i was given just so much attitude.... today I returned to this store to redeem birthday reward and decided to give another chance since all employees are new. Turns out nothing changed. I was given attitude just for asking where is a mirror. When i asked cashier about that associates name she approached another cashie (Terry I think) and they both became just rude, saying they nit allowed to give out names and i can ask her myself. The prices are much better than the regular BR store..just wished there was a closer outlet store..I hate driving all the way to Milpitas from Oakland, esp when gas prices are so high..makes it difficult to return items easily. Unlike my other reviews, I'll keep this one short. Drop by once in a while, you can get some nice deals (Got a nice wool jacket for 50% off and no iron shirt for 60% off). So I was at the Great Mall the other day and we were just about to breeze on by as usual until a 50% off sign caught my eye and literally made me back up. It was as if you hit the "rewind" button as I realized I need some new work clothes. Spring had sprung and I've been wearing these dark, depressing winter colors, boots, wool coats etc as of late so we head right in. While not TOO much of a variety they actually had some halfway decent items at this outlet. While I almost bought a full suit at 50% off (they had my size!) I put it back because I realize brown and not really my color and I no longer need to wear suits to work. For an outlet store it was fairly organized. They had plenty of sheath dresses and button up shirt dresses to wear to the office. I perused through the dress section but walked away disappointed as their selections of dresses seemed matronly in style. I almost wanted to look through again trying to almost convince myself that their wraparound shirt dress wasn't so bad but I stopped myself before I did. Nothing is more of a waste of money than buying something just because "it was too good of a deal to pass up" and have it sit in the closet to get donated with tags still attached. I probably spent a good 15 minutes in the store and ended up just walking out with two basic casual tops, one white and one grey at 40% off. Usually when I go to an outlet stores the majority of the sizes I see left over are 10 and up so even if I see something I want to pick up I can't never find my size. Here, I saw sizes ranging from 0 to the larger sizes. If BR is your style it's worth a visit. read more

This review is only for the check out cashier. He was impolite and didn't want to help customer to save money. When I went check out I asked if I had 30% discount ( which they ask the customer to text "hello" and unlock the offer) The man looked unwilling to tell me the details to get the discount and told me my Banana Republic card has 10% off. I told him i got 30% off email and he replied me "I don't know where you get that email" . His attitude made me angry. I showed him the email saying "I got it from your company". He checked my phone and said nothing but typed on the machine. I asked "does it work?" He replied "yes" reluctantly. He said I can't use both discount codes and asked me which one I wanted to use. Who will choose 10% instead of 30%? He gave me my receipt without saying anything( the basic "thank you" to the customer). read more
