I really appreciate having this Ross in East Oakland! It has a great selection, doesn't usually have long lines, and the staff here has always been nice and welcoming. They like to crack a lot of jokes, and that makes it fun. The cashier Lesly got me waiting at the line she saw me and ignore me and went to help another customer knowing that I was waiting at the line and I still went with her to see if she can help me and she answered saying that she was gonna help the other customer and when she was gonna finished she was going to help the big line that she had and she took her time that's terrible service read more

I enjoy shopping at this Ross. The security is very polite but will get down and dirty with the rude customers. On a serious note; why come here in a bad mood? Check yourself at the door, jeez. The staff is on top of their organization and set up. The aisles are a decent size, except the clothing section. I do wish there was more room to walk around others. Otherwise, the prices are great and selection is best during the week. Pro tip: Don't park in-front of the store, unless you're Roman Reigns & ready to rumble. Drivers that are exiting almost always get hit or honked at because everyone seems to be in a race. Park in the area by the trees. read more

I like shopping at Ross--especially on Tuesdays with 10 percent senior discount. I went today because I wanted to return some clothes I got a week ago. This Ross is different than the one I went to a week ago. That one had lots of shirts to choose from for my partner. I think I got him a half dozen shirts at the other one. In this store, I didn't find any shirts that I thought he would like. This store look like it needed someone to straighten things up--like the women's shoe aisle for example looked messy. I was looking for socks for my 3 and 8 year old grandsons. There were at least 10 times as many socks for girls than boys. I would have gotten the 3 year old some socks, but every package of socks had pink ones in the bundle. So, I didn't get him any... There were way more choices for girls than there were for boys...I guess like there are way more choices for women than men in most clothing stores. After I was checking out of the store, I mentioned how much I was missing actually trying clothing on in the store, and the cashier said that they had just OPENED the dressing rooms today--Yay, team! read more

Very practical location as it benefits from the huge Home Depot/ Walmart car park. It does get busy consequently. Like any other Ross store the security person is your greeter and I do feel for him as peeps hardly respond. This is a large Ross and like any Ross you need to go there early otherwise it feels like an army of small people created chaos in all the aisles. That is just down to the patrons being messy nothing to do with the staff who were all clearly over worked yet super friendly and helpful. I almost hate to post this message but I have to share that this location has some really great clothing and home goods choices. I got a great MK bag that is still in MK stores for over $100 more! I have practically remodeled my bedroom with all Ross items from this location. The staff is very friendly and do a good job moving the line. Someone mentioned the the employees were rude but perhaps they were responding to rudeness. I don't know but the staff is always nice when I go there. The store is well organized and clean and its easy to find what I want or determine quickly if they have what I'm looking for or not. In any case, I am so glad they are near my home and will keep the wonderful selection they have had in the past. read more

I only gave them 1 star because I have to. Worse ROSS in this area!! Went in a few weeks ago because even though I dont care for the store I like to shop in my own community. The store is always a mess and they lack alot of great inventory compared to the Ross on Davis. Went in to buy my daughter a coat for school, found a decent one and headed to the register. Got there and the girl already looked disinterested in her job. No smile, no nothing. Then I give her an old 20, you know the ones before they started making the blue strips. This lady told me it was fake because it wouldn't go through the machine but if you work retail ( which I also do) you know in order to check the old 20s you have to lift it up to reveal the strip and the extra face. She refused to take it so I asked for a manager. This lady didn't even come over and check it she just agreed with her cashier from halfway across the store. I took the 20 to several banks that confirmed it was indeed REAL! I was embarrassed, I have NEVER in my life been treated this way. Not all black people are criminals. I'm a mother of 4, a working mother with 2 jobs. I dont appreciate being treated this way and because of this I will NEVER patronize this Ross!! I'm tired of being treated like crap in my own neighborhood. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you find another Ross other than this one. read more

This Ross is cleaner than most and the employees are friendly. Line is never too long.

The day before Father's Day I came to buy a gift for my dads. The employees didn't have a key to the jewelry cabinet. Another customer and I waited 20-30 min for the manager. The loss prevention guard had to get her from the back. When she finally came out, she had an attitude to match mine. I don't like to write bad reviews, but this manager was wrong and wasted my time. I am a Ross shopper and I'm very happy with this new location especially since it's two minutes from my front door! The store is big, clean and has a very good selection. The staff is friendly. I did run into one manager who was a little intense. She never smiled and fussed at her staff. She asked me one too many questions and each time she sounded confrontational. The last thing she asked was "Are you done with this basket?!" I gave her a blank stare then I said "If you need me to be!" She backed off. Lol. She needs to lighten up. It's Ross! I love Ross! Friendly staff hopefully they stay that way. Wide variety of things to choose from, I do hope they keep the store well stock with things to choose from. The parking lot is a plus, don't have to walk far to get to the store. I see they do have security, so I will keep my doors lock. read more
