I think some people may be being a little harsh. I imagine this job is very mentally and physically draining, so I don't expect amazing service from every employee all the time. I've witnessed a couple interactions of extremely rude shoppers. I feel for the employees that experience that and then have to move on like they weren't just talked down to. Remember, kindness is free. The store can be quite a bit sparse with inventory at times and then stocked fairly well at other times. I met the manager that runs this location, while checking out one time. He appeared to have good rapport with the staff working that day. I have been a Ross customer for over 20 years, and a frequent customer at the Redmond location for over 10 years. I understand how the store operates and I'm not too picky or expecting red carpet treatment. But THIS store has the RUDEST, most entitled, loud, obnoxious, unprofessional and condescending manager I have ever seen. Shame on you, ROSS management, for keeping this man. He yells at people, yells in the mic that it's time to stop shopping every 2 minutes after 9 pm (deterring people from making any purchases), threatens that carts will be put away, constantly denies valid returns, and follows people around the store as if they are criminals. He laughs when a beeper goes off and enjoys watching people struggle with the constant noise in this store, while he does nothing. All their shoe sensors are broken and shoes can't be tried on or touched at all. They consistently lie and mark valid returns as something else and you end up not receiving a refund at all. I was only an observer how he treats others for years, until it happened to me. I don't want to go into more details here but I'll say he's scary and a liability to this store. I WAS a frequent shopper who has spent tens of thousands of dollars in Ross (factual number), but I won't set foot in this store anymore. The most rudest employees tonight my mom and I experienced here. Checking out was a nightmare and not to mention because the employee didn't trust me with my moms necklace I was purchasing for Christmas to walk from one counter to another to check out, I was trying to ask and tell her it's a present to hide it and then whips it out right in front of my mom. Then, we were doing purchasing separately for gifts and she has the nerve to tell me to "hurry up" when I was trying to pay with Apple Pay. They were sitting there rolling there eyes the entire time and honestly we both were so uncomfortable if it wasn't for last minute gift shopping I would just loved to cancel the whole thing and spend money elsewhere. The cashier processed my refund as a purchase by mistake. I noticed it in a couple days and came back to resolve the ussue. The store manager was not in the store that day; the cashier took picture of my original receipt and "refund" receipt and my phone number and promised the manager will call me in a couple days and they will refund me $80 that were supposed to be a refund, and $80 that they charged by mistake. 10 days later no phone calls received, no refund issued. I came to the store again. The manager Justin was extremely rude and not helpful at all. No apology came from him either for the mistake the emplyee did and for me missing $180 for over a month by now. All he was able to do is yell that I should call the number at the back of recept for any refund issues. Writing this review while being on hold for almost an hour trying to reach anyone through this number. Be extremely careful and check all your receipts right away! This is not a very good Ross store. I always like Ross but not this outlet. The layout is similar to Winners. The store is on the smallish side. Things are laid out pretty neatly. Selection is sparse.The toiletries section is a bit dodgy. I bought some notebooks and chocolates from Ghirardelli and Lindt. There is a nice selection of flavors which are not commonly found in supermarkets. The elderly cashier is as what many Yelpers have reviewed - grumpy and rude - and totally ruined the shopping experience. read more

I find that this Ross is smaller than the other Ross I have been to. Or maybe its the layout. It is very spacious to walk in. I was looking at the makeup and hair product section and it looks pretty messy and some of the stuff looked like it was leaking or someone touched it. Oh well. I didn't pick up any of those stuff. Clothing is a bit outdated. But it is Ross so no complains on outdated clothing. I managed to pick up some Ghirardelli Chocolate here. It was the blueberry dark chocolate which I rarely see at store. I guess its a hit and miss here. If you are looking for good deal, you will need to have time to spend here. read more

I generally avoid this Ross, not because of the merchandise which is reasonably well stocked, or messiness which is not bad even though that's a common Ross theme. So get this, it's one of the front desk lady. She almost scares me. She borderline growls at you throughout the entire transaction; it's so uncomfortable. She normally covers the returns desk so I avoid returning things at this Ross as much as possible. But I think she's in some physical pain, as she moves in slow motion so I never complain. When I first walked in here, I wondered if they were closing as their inventory was sooooo loooow. lots of empty shelves and, as others have said, not great selection. I was looking for shoes for one of my kids - could only find one pair in her size.... Also, all the kids shoes are mixed up, so I ended up combing through 4 different sections to find even that one pair!! Then kids clothes - all I could find in my toddler's size were track pants, for my daughter, a swimsuit and 10 styles of pyjamas. I thought I might be missing something.... But no. I have been here a number of times. The floor here is clean and much cleaner than the downtown Seattle Ross location. The security guy greets you at the door, which is nice. Lots of parking space in front of the store. Items are well organized in the store although they have slightly re-arranged the store a couple of times during my recent visits here. The checkout line is confusing. One sign in the main line/area says return/exchange only go to the right side and purchase goes to the left. Then another line opens up to the very right side for purchasing as well. Cecilia was the cashier when I made my purchase here in my last two visits. She is super grumpy! The first time I made a purchase, she didn't give me a plastic bag. So I asked can I have a bag? She looked at me and asked "YOU WANT A BAG??????" I was like yes please. The level of security for a low price clothing store in the middle of Redmond is completely curious. Shopping there almost feels like you are shopping at a prison commissary. There is a guard at the door, the fitting room attendants are extremely specific with their protocol, and there is a general sense of being watched closely while going through this store. I have been in stores with that level of scrutiny before, but they were in downtown, crowded areas with a lot of problems with theft. But Redmond? You really need a security guard in Redmond? Is there really a concern that people are stealing poorly made, low price items and.. wearing them to Microsoft? Aside from the strange security, the selection is really not much to crow about. Like many other Ross stores, it feels like shopping at Goodwill, although the stuff is new. It's a decent place to get something cheap, but there isn't a huge size variety and the quality is almost exclusively low. The dress selection is probably the best of their collections, so it's worth checking if you're in the market for a dress on the cheap. And, like everyone else has said, the parking lot is annoying. I'll start by saying that this particular location is very convenient to my work place and i only shop here if I'm looking for something I can't find elsewhere. They have real issues with their employees attitudes. I use to think it was lack of training but I really feel it's the caliper of their workforce. It's like they all HATE their job and I'm putting them out by shopping there. The manager actually sighed when I asked if she could open up another register. A line of 10 people and 1 register. The store inventory level is much lower than other stores. It always looks like the day after Black Friday. Inventory in disarray and laying everywhere. The cleanliness overall is sad. This is the closest Ross I have and overall I like it, I wish they had a bit more choice. Some days, they really have to hang things spread apart, so it doesn't look like half the racks are empty. I'm not sure if that is because a lot of people shop here or if they just don't request enough product for their store. I wish they would have a better choice in jeans and capris, there is always no more then 2-3 options in larger sizes (14 & 16). The store itself is fairly well organized and clean, I've seen much worse, so this one is good. Ross is all about bargain hunting and knowing when to go. If you go during hours where everyone is going, it is your own fault and you will wait in a moderate line. I usually go here between 10am-noon on a weekday and there's no line and the inventory is also newly re-stocked. read more

I ready some bad reviews on this one, but I gotta say that I am happy with how I was treated today and I am a real stickler for fashion and pretty fashion savvy...I know myself and what I like but I also scan to see what the overall selection is too. I did not see the scary Russian ladies mentioned, but a nice woman who looks overlooked and tired. They had quite a bit of clothing selections in the women's section and it was varied and diverse. It made me happy. I treated myself after a traumatic firing of a job and I got a little bonus which I used to treat myself before starting a new job. It was just my time today. Perhaps that made it all seem better. But even if my customer service experience was bad, which it was not, (though the cashiers do seem really sad), the selection is what really drew me and pulled me and made me happy. Maybe some of you Redmond shoppers ought to go over to the Burien, Southcenter or Downtown Ross to see how much worse Ross can really be. Then, you will see that this store is gorgeous, well kept up and has amazing selection and inventory. For those complaining about the short staffed problem at this store, why not consider the fact that the workers are probably jaded because they HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL over that, and they are simply trying to survive and work. Maybe the sense of entitlement on the Eastside wears them down, as I have worked in Bellevue and Redmond and the entitlement problem is a bit much. I am poor and unemployed and have struggled all my life but have also worked in service, so I can empathize with those who are struggling and who are in those positions b/c someone at corporate made it so that there would not be enough people when the lines got long. So don't direct it all to the workers. That being said, if someone is blatantly rude, that is a different story and no customer should take abuse anywhere. But this review is about why I DO like this Ross, at least right now. This Ross just opened up a few weeks ago. Or maybe months. I don't know, there was a sign, and I drove by it all the time, but never went in. You know, because I hate Ross. On a Sunday morning though, after grabbing some coffee at the Starbucks(don't judge me!) we decided to see what their shoe selection was like for my boyfriend. An hour later, he didn't get any shoes, but I did find 3 super cute tops for less than $40. I have a lot of clothes, but I never find more than 1 top at a time, and usually, it will take me 2 to 3 trips into a store before I find a top I like. So the fact that I was able to find like 8 tops to try on, and I actually liked them all, and had to narrow it down to the 3 that I liked the most is pretty impressive. It may just be because this store is new, and clean, and doesn't make me want to stab myself, but I could definitely see myself shopping at this Ross again in the future. Today, this store was very clean and organized and the staff were helpful and positive despite the crash in internet that happened all over Redmond today. As someone who works in the beauty industry, I'm always on the hunt for affordable and durable black clothing. I found just that and more! The dressing room attendant was especially nice!!! Let me start off by saying I am a bargain hunting freak and I love discount chains!! I am so happy this Ross has recently opened in Redmond. This Ross is fairly standard in terms of selection, except the kicker here is that it is brand spankin' NEW and CLEAN and does not smell like urine in the women's dressing rooms!! Hallelujah!! Large selection of Betseyville, Harajuku Lovers, decent perfume, Booty POP as seen on TV undies, hoochie mama hooker heels and polyester clothing, bored males, and lots of sneers from single moms to be found around every corner. The staff seems pretty nice, maybe because they are fresh faced at their jobs here and have not been jaded by the typical breed of freaks that these stores are catnip for. My only main gripe is that the parking lot here sucks, like most parking lots in Redmond. Cluster F 24/7. Keep your eyes peeled at all times because some bored housewife in a Range Rover will plow right into you searching & getting to and from other places she is wasting all of her husband's money on. My friend and I literally saw a woman with her hands nowhere near the steering wheel mowing down on a Salad once. This review is more about general demeanor of the store and how disappointed I am with their selections... In various departments. Their shoes are good when they're good, it's really hit and miss. All times of day. Can't tell what the problem is. Probably corporate. The same people who shop at value village shop here. Sometimes VV has WAY better selections in all departments. Point is, I don't know why they order 10 pairs of black fuzzy clogs and nothing cute in sizes 9-10.5... Just weird. Maybe picked over, fine... but this place is always picked over then... Almost bought a cute corner shelf, paint coming off. Cheap POS can pick it up with a finger literally, $35 + tax. No way not worth it. No 20% off, won't even call the manger up. No sale for them. She tried to embarrass me in front of the other customers and kept rolling her eyes. I told her I need to talk to someone else because she wasn't willing to listen. She claimed she was the manager. Few days after Christmas, and there is 1 checker, and I count 15 people in line at all times for the past 30 min. New store. Inexpensive clothes. Adorable shoes. This is how the seduction begins! I love Ross, and this new store is pretty darn good! It will take some adjustment to get used to the layout, since I'm used to the Bellevue and Kirkland stores, but that isn't really a problem. The housewares and goodies section was sparse, so I was a bit disappointed. However, they had clothing and shoes galore! I actually found a pair of dress shoes that I had bought a while back that had broken. Unfortunately, I've sworn off buying dress shoes until the end of the year, so poo poo. Love this place and I will definitely be back. Hopefully with more money to spend. :o) read more

It is not nearly as cluttered and close quartered, the lines are reasonable, the staff is friendly and efficient and the location is convenient.
