I was looking for a reasonably priced mirror, sponge holder for a kitchen sink, and over-the-door hooks. They had what I was looking for and much more. I was surprised at the quality of merchandise they have & the shoe section had many choices. Their prices were lower than Target so I will probably come here for little things I need around the house from now on. The cashier was friendly, although she was very busy. The location is like most Ross Dress for Less stores. They have ample parking since they are located in a shopping plaza. Went is for auto accessories ( which they have a large selection of). This store needs better attention. The merchandise is everywhere, looks like the place is understaffed. My daughter had to use the restroom and there was no toilet paper. We requested some and waited more than 10mins for it. I had to go in the men's restroom to get some from there. The men's restroom had toilet paper in the floor and it look like it had not been clean for hours. Not so good. This store was better than this. Extremely rude employee. I don't know if she was manager there or what but my goodness she is rude. I walked in there a little after 8am(8/17/24). No one was in the front so I walked in. Right away from across the store some older lady employee starts yelling at me to get back. It startled me cause I wasn't expecting someone to start yelling at me. Then she starts yelling at me as to why I didn't wait at the door. I told her no one was here, no employee, no security, nothing and I saw 3 other people walk in with no problem. The sales associates are very nice, I feel like they are understaffed at times, or they have them just walking around to prevent theft. Some of the aisles are way to narrow. Earlier this evening I stopped in to pick up a gift for my son's friend, because his mom told me that he wanted a specific item that was on sale at this location. On November 15, 2025 at around 6pm, after a long day, I brought my son into retrieve the item. I also bought my son a couple of Nike pieces. My total was $96. The line took about 15 minutes to get through, and the lady that rang us up was friendly. However, I began texting a friend as I was walking out of the exit door, and an African American security guard proceeded to ask me for my receipt. I continued texting and pulled out my receipt to show him. Upon me handing him my receipt, he said," Aw, c'mon man. You saw the sign!"--in which he was referring to a sign that asks shoppers to present their receipt upon exiting. In an extremely rude tone--may I add!! Since I very rarely shop at Ross, and the last time I did, there was no such policy, I was unaware of their implementation methods. And because I was texting, I didn't see the sign. I told him that I don't usually shop there and he continued to speak in a crazy tone to me in front of my teenage son. As I went back and forth with this individual, upon us exiting the store, he proceeded to tell me to get the fuck of the store, in which my son heard clearly, as he was standing closest to him just outside of the door. I was so appalled at the blatant disrespect, so I went back into the store to inform management about his uncalled for and distasteful behavior. This left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and had there not been a long line, I would have returned every item I purchased. Ross Dress For Less stores can be very fun to visit. We visited this particular branch during a very busy time so it was not too much fun for me. Too crowded and too cluttered. It was truly a treasure hunt trying to find a gift for our nephew. Took about an hour, but we did find some nice stuff. Prices were very reasonable as well. The checkout line was super long. Fortunately, most of the registers were open so we only waited in line for about 30 minutes. Gave me time to catch up on my email. Would I return? You will wait in vast lines, with one check-out person, but 3-4 people working security. They yell at you walk in the door, "Welcome to Ross" but it's too aggressive. This store is always messy because it's overstocked. so there are items on the floor and then get dirty and Ross still sells them... dirty. The line is long and is minimal 30 people in line and only 2 cashiers. It's now 12:44 in the afternoon on a Friday!! This Signal Hill store is now "metering" people who enter their store. That their code word for punking you on the way in by making you wait 15 seconds or before you can walk in. They don't wait for one person to leave before another enters, it's not an occupancy thing. It's not even about making sure they don't get looted, it's about punking you. Yesterday, went there for a phone charger. We walk in and I notice this watch and I was interested in purchasing it. I rang the assistance button on the jewelry counter and waited. As my boyfriend and I waited we noticed 2 other watches. We were ready to spend $300 at their jewelry counter. Waited 15 mins TOO LONG and no one ever came.... no one even acknowledged us. I ran into Ross tonight to grab some work pants after having a long day of work and extracurricular activities for my children. I found a pair of dress pants and a few other items and proceeded to go try them on just to make sure I wasn't purchasing something I couldn't fit. Upon exiting and putting the clothes I did not want on the rack I was told I needed to wait by the employee working the fitting room. I informed her the extra items I had where on a rack in front of her( which had nothing on it other than the 3 shirts I did not want) and the number was there as well. She told me I couldn't leave the area until she checked to make sure I didn't take the sensors off of the remaining item I had. 1. As a women of color I find that very offensive that she would attempt to insinuate I would try and steal the pants 2. Even if that's what your policy is you should NEVER make the customer aware of what your looking for when you stop us 3. When I informed the manager and another employee they told me she sometimes has a attitude problem and can be rude ! The overall experience is just unacceptable and degrading to be honest. read more

Love this store but only early in the mornings. Lots of excellent pre-packaged Christmas gifts, holiday chocolates, gifts for everyone. Then you got those people that had the 'rona and here they come towards you, no social distancing, they look at you with devil eyes and want you to get sick too. Just like the flu or intentionally coughing super close. Their 'rona game is wack and my strategy until a vaccine is in place is to drop a few items in the aisle like an obstacle course so they can't get close to me. I win. read more

Stores have some of the best sections of products to buy. Due to this it's one of the busiest stores, yet it has not occurred to them to hire more cashiers. There was only 3 cashiers today for a line that took me 30 minutes to reach the end. I would not recommend doing your returns here will take far to long to complete. I can not tell you how many times I would come here and by the time I was ready to get in line just by looking at it I would give up. You are losing costumers this way! I don't blame cashiers they are working as quick as they can. But they need more people on staff to help them! The store is also very messy, again lot of people coming through so it's to be expected. But again more workers are needed to combat this! I blame management for not hiring more workers especially as they can clearly see their store is one of the busiest. read more

Fitting attendant seems to have a power trip but is inconveniencing customers. She would pat down each item of clothing so much before and after you try them. I even had to ask her what she's looking for. She just wants to tell people what to do as this seems super unnecessary. She even holds up every customer by telling them what to do and it's not even in a friendly helpful manner but she exudes a cop-like behavior. This is not how you should treat your customers, Ross! Also, everyone be power tripping by calling on the next customer when you haven't even put your card in your wallet yet, or having you wait a few seconds to get in the store, pretending to look around before unlatching the barrier. The guard will say, "We just try to limit who comes into the store," but he simply looks around, nothing happens, and then unlatches it after several seconds of making you stand there. Like what exactly were you looking for? All smokescreens and scare tactics. I understand that theft is a big problem these days, but this feels like you're in some kind of prison or assembly line, not where you are giving a business money. Management needs to do better or the company itself needs to figure out a better solution. It's so unpleasant. I was going to try a few more skirts but just decided to leave them in the rack so as not to waste more of my time or feel so dehumanized. Ross, you are probably the worst in customer shopping experience, esp this one! The manager of this place should work for a high risk corrections facility or factory that only involves machinery. On 04/30/21 around 5pm, I came with my partner to do a return for my mother. It was really crowded and the place was messy and dirty. There was no social distancing at all. Returns has a separate line so it was faster since the line to pay was really long and people were crowded together. While my partner went to return, I quickly went to check for something and I was just weaving through people. Found what I needed after looking around the aisle but changed my mind since line was long to pay. I saw my partner being helped and he was squeezed between two groups of people also paying. There was like a foot of distance from both sides. I got anxious so stood back but at least the return was almost done. There were 5 registers open but the line was not moving and the registers were opened close to each other. It was pretty scary since you don't know who was vaccinated or not. People were at least wearing masks. Overall: I wouldn't recommend coming here especially in the evening since busy and no social distancing protocol being enforced. read more

I don't know if it's because it's after the holidays and it's slower, but whatever the case, I could look through the merchandise fairly easily for sizes or prices.
