I wanted to try on a pair of sunglasses that were locked in the glass case. They told me I need to stand and wait in their long line to see the glasses. Why would I need to stand in line to try something on before I know if I want it? Isn't that why stores have fitting rooms for clothing? So I just left this Ross store. Lovely check out person, lovely person who let me in to the restroom. BUT!!!! The security guard guy----- what a poor representation of the company. I had just paid--- literally- 2 feet in front of him. He was watching me the entire time I checked out. I had a baby gift in an Easter Basket. As I walked out he market the basket lining with his yellow highlighter. I said why did you do that- it's a gift. He said the cashier told you I'd need to see a receipt. I said I'm sorry I didn't hear her say that- why didn't you tell me? As if I had marked up HIS stuff after watching him pay. Very accusatory and acting like I was making a big deal out of nothing. Everything I had was visible in the gift basket. I had a tiny cross-body just big enough for my phone and a tee shirt and leggings. Not exactly a shoplifting scenario. Ugh. Back to what happened-. As if his marking up my purchase wasn't bad enough he then licked his hand and tried to wipe off the yellow highlighter! Seriously. I just wanted out of there. I was starting to get upset. He said what do you want from me you needed to show your receipt. I said I would have happily shown it to you had you asked. I then said an apology would at least be expected because I didn't want to stand in the epic Ross line for a return. He then gave me a smarmy, tongue-in-cheek I'm sorry. Honestly. I can't believe I wrote this much--- but everyone else there was great and he ruined a gift, blamed me and then was a j*rk about it. read more

I come here all the time and there's always a lady at the front with glasses and saggy pants, she had a disgusting attitude when my grandmother was asking to look at jewelry that was locked up.. when she did help us she wouldn't let us look closely she kept asking "are you ready to purchase" which I think is very rude when we are trying to make sure we like what we buy with our hard working money. read more

I went to this Ross Dress for Less store because my family decided to stop by after going to TJ Maxx, and I had a terrible experience with the woman wearing glasses who worked there. I bought a few items and the total was $34 (I don't remember the exact change), so I gave her $50 and she was supposed to give me back the change. She said, "I don't have any pennies," which was fine until I looked at the receipt and said, "Why did she only give me 35 cents back? Where's my the rest of the money ?" I had to go back, and she thought I was talking about the change she had already given me, but I went back to get the money she hadn't given me. Luckily, the security guard was kind enough to explain to her that she owed me, not just the change because I didn't care about the pennies at all. Please fire that woman but hopefully, not everyone has the same experience. I will never come back to this place again. I forgot to mention her attitude towards me. She greeted everyone with "Hi, how are you?" but when it's my turn, she was completely silent, and when she gave me the money back, she acted annoyed and didn't apologize for what she had done and pretending nothing happened. It's clear that the money she earns from her job isn't enough for her, but at least the shop still has customers, and I certainly won't be one of them in the future. read more

Like any Ross, I like to go in and browse around, looking at home decors (paintings, mirrors, flower vases), housewares (pots, pans, plates, utensils), and all them other cool stuff Ross usually carries! But dislike the fact that every time am here at this location for the last few months, they NEVER have public restroom for customers as they would always say "restrooms are closed". It is such an inconvenient that if you need to use the restroom, but haven't yet finished your shopping or browsing, you would need to leave to other businesses nearby (i.e. Target store) then have to come back to finish shopping/browsing. Other Ross stores always have restrooms available for customers. read more

My husband and I went shopping at this location today. When we returned home we realized that we were missing a few items so my husband returned to the store. He provided out receipt and shared the items that we were missing. Management looked into the situation since e there was not a bag at the register and then looked at the cameras. My husband was unable to get out of the door with the cart so he had the grab each bag individually- after spending $174.69. The cameras showed that he had left a bag in the cart and someone picked it up on their way out of the door. Management was not willing to give the three missing items which were worth $27 plus tax because they stated they gave him all of his bags. We will NEVER shop at this store again and I will ensure to share this experience with everyone i know. read more

Plenty of parking out front. Stopped in on a Monday morning shortly after opening. Store is neither clean or dirty but clothing assortment disorganized and out of place. If you spend enough time shuffling through each piece, you can find a few good items. Good amount of affordable toys for toddlers. Kitchen area was a lot of random items everywhere so could be hard to locate a specific item. One cashier and she was quick at ringing us up. One security upon entering. Coming to this Ross location is generally cool. The staff is always nice and welcoming. Sometimes, the line moves a bit slow due to the lack of staff members in the register area. I like some of the prices, absolutely hate the long checkout lines, and most recently at Trinity Parkway, had my Visa numbers lifted when I tapped and payed with my credit card. One of the things I am most known by my friends for saying is, "I got it at Ross." Upon walking in, I head straight for the shoes section. There's no point in me looking elsewhere because I hardly ever find anything else I like in the store. However, I have found amazing Fossil leather boots for $50, pointy-toed flats for $10, classic black peep-toe heels for $20, and so much more! My visits here are quick, as I know exactly where I'm going. They make wonderful study breaks when I'm tired of studying at Borders down the street! read more

But it's all relative, so by "best," I mean: - the store is fairly clean (not a lot of clothes piled everywhere and on the floor) - the clientele seems a little more couth, but you'll still put up with disorderly kids and inconsiderate people. You know what I mean, the ones that insist on putting their cart smack-dab in the middle of the aisle and won't move out of your way even though you're clearly just passing through - lines are a little less crowded because they tend to have at least 2 or 3 cashiers - being in a respectable shopping plaza, I feel a lot safer here at night - Jo-Ann Fabrics is right nearby, and so is Bed Bath & Beyond read more

Disclosure: I have a wicked penchant for luxurious bath products. I can find them at Ross. I tend to stock up when I go because the shopping experience is less than optimal. Last shopping experience - There are more than 10 customers on two lines (I lost count after 10, it was pointless to continue). A manager is up front with who has to be the rudest woman in Stockton (an employee who has the attitude of the hardest inmate at Chowchilla) sorting hangers. Hangers? There are at least two dozen people on line ladies. Get with the program and do something. When Ms. I've-got-a-bug-up-my-ass moves toward a cash register I jockey for a position closer to her register. She rolls her eyes at me and sneers "I'M NOT OPEN!" This isn't the prison commissary, take a Valium. She proceeds to give the manager lip and walks away. I cannot fathom there are people this ignorant who have jobs when there are qualified, cordial individuals needing employment. Ten minutes later, I purchase my bath products and go home to take a bubble bath to de-stress from the Ross shopping experience. read more

A Ross is a Ross is a Ross. This one is pretty good considering it gets a lot of action. They do a pretty good job of cleaning up the mess that careless customers leave behind, but it's just a never-ending job. Really good finds here - dresses and men's clothes especially. Kid's clothes and toys are sparse compared to other Ross stores. Lines are fairly fast moving here almost all the time and that's a huge perk! read more

Although I left a dismal review for Ross's ugly stepsister (the one that lives on Pacific Ave), I felt it was only fair to leave separate reviews for two very different shopping experiences. The parking lot is so much less crowded & the people that shop here are much more respectful. It still has the trademark messiness that unfortunately comes with a Ross store, but it's manageable & not "when in the heck was the last time this store was cleaned?!" that its counterpart has. I've found the cutest dresses here (all for under $20!) and some great artwork & frames. And just the other day I spied some killer Guess heels for $30. Hey, call me superficial, but any place that carries good shoes is a-ok in my book. read more

I've been multiple times here, it's nice to have a security guard in the front also the store is clean and well maintained. I usually shop the kids section and I love thier kid shoe selection. I try to shop and check it out a few times a month because you never know what you'll find. My favorite Ross location in the area. I usually stop in here once a month to buy dog toys, blankets, supplies for my dogs. Super low prices on the same items you can find at Petsmart or Petco. The store is clean and the staff seems friendly enough. The store can be somewhat disorganized during their busy times but stll over all a clean store especially compared to the one on Hammer Lane. Currently standing in line, NO ASSOCIATES ON REGISTERS. Line is 10 people strong, and the associates off to the left are stocking and laughing at how long the line is getting. The associate who is supposed to be on registers is helping a woman in jewelry, and the other female associate is flirting off tot he side with the loss prevention guy. Love this store, and most of the employees and greeters are friendly and helpful. They offer so much in so many categories--great place to shop for clothing, footware, household goods/supplies, handbags/accessories, pet supplies, jewelry, stationary, frames/art, etc. Shop for yourself or for gifts, and they also sell giftcards. The only negative is that the check out area can be a bit hot on a very hot day, as it is adjacent to the glassed in store front. I would recommend that they consider window film to reduce heat, light, glare, etc on very hot days. Love that they have active security staff that are vigilant. read more

It's one thing I dislike is when a manager her name was Tammy talks to employees down asking the employee how she reads left to right because that not how you put things away and then asked another employee why she late again ...take them to the office or away from the customers...I felt so embarrassed for those two young girls. As a manager you should be a mentor to help them grow with the company! I hope management gets some training on communicating with employees or maybe re-train them when customers are NOT present! read more

So this Ross gets two stars mainly because of the customer service, and the messiness. The fitting room attendant was just rude, I came out and she just looked at me, didn't ask me anything, while I wait for her to finally take my number, not only that but while I waited she pretty much scolded a customer for not knowing where to put her shopping cart while she went in, and the rest of the staff that I came across were just plain unprofessional, carrying on personal conversations as they ring customers up. read more

We come in regularly . Today was 103 degrees and we are very big on keeping ourselves and our 1 year old daughter hydrated. The security was nice. We walked in and stared shopping and a manager "keisha" stopped us and said we couldn't drink inside the store. I asked her where was the sign stating that and she was very rude. She told me I could put my drink in the car . I told her it was over 100 degrees , and how could they expect their customers not keep hydrated and she copped an attitude and said "have a nice day ." I asked her for the general managers info and she kept saying "that info is in the front of store , have a nice day." So we walked out and upon getting into our car and loading our baby up, we seen a lady with a drink in hers and her husbands hands along with several Ross bags. Must be a racist thing as we are of the Latino decent. Not sure how it's legal to not allow guest to stay hydrated. read more

Went in today for a screen protector for my phone and was followed by this lady with blonde hair who was asset protection. I grabbed my the screen cover in the electronics area, browsed for some clothes, then went to the back to check out some home and garden supplies. That was when I noticed her. I thought very little of it until she followed me back to the clothing section and then to the front of the store. She made it very obvious and had a horrible shopping experience. Never in my life have I ever been followed and it is a very shitty feeling to be honest. I come here all the time because it is convenient as I live in the area. I don't think I will be coming back if I am to be followed like a crook. read more

Horrible customer service. Wife went in there with a cart full of merchandise and waited in an empty open register alone for minutes while watching 3 cashiers chit chat not even acknowledging her two registers down. Then she goes to another register that was open and a very rude cashier goes up to her saying "You're not next, this is for returns only". Ok so the wife had enough and simply left. I wonder if the manager would appreciate over 200 in merchandise being left unsold all because you have lazy, rude and incompetent cashier staff. This store is racist against Asians! read more

I like this ross because it's always clean and the employees are so helpful. I don't even go to the other two ross stores i live by. I came to this Ross to pick out some shoes for my mom and a few things for myself, I went to pay and asked for separate transactions; however, the cashier forgot and ended up voiding the shoes off the first transaction and ringing them separately which was nice of her, but the problem was she never handed me a separate receipt (which I didn't notice till my mom went to return the shoes in the store) . 2 days later my mom went to exchange the shoes and I had given her the receipt which was given to me and the cashier looked at the receipt and took the shoes from my mom and said "we can't return these shoes because this is not the "real" receipt, this receipt shows the shoes were voided out and so as far as this goes they belong to the store because you have no proof you purchased them" my mom was deeply embarrassed and called me while I was at work asking if I had given her the right receipt, and I said yes that receipt was the only one that was given to me.....my mom was there for over 30 minutes hoping they would be able to look up the transaction but even more importantly prove that she would never steal! This situation was handled VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, they ended up looking at the video camera and seen that yes I had purchased the shoes and that the cashier only handed me over 1 receipt for both transactions! The management and the worker that handled the situation are definitely not qualified for customer service. Negative stars if I could, because of the unprofessionalism and embarrassment they caused for my mother. read more

I had an unfortunate incident at Ross today, but thankfully the staff was able to help. I had been at the store for about half an hour and was ready to purchase a couple items. In a last minute flight of fancy I decided to try on a cute bright red/orange leather-ish jacket. I was about 70% convinced I would buy the jacket as well, when suddenly I realized the metal zipper was caught near the bottom of my blouse. I had already zipped and unzipped the jacket a few times, examining how it looked, and had no idea how the zipper had gotten so suddenly caught, because it was *really* stuck. I tried in vain for a few minutes to unzip the catch, steadily getting more and more flushed in the face from both embarrassment and helplessness. Finally, I gave up and wandered over to the dressing room where I bashfully told the older woman there that I needed help. She let me into a dressing room so that I could take the blouse and jacket off (THANKFULLY I HAD AN UNDERSHIRT), before together we tried for a good ten minutes to tag team the zipper and get the two items apart. Still, we couldn't do it, so the dressing room attendant called for a man to come from the front of the store (I assume he was the floor manager or something, he was dressed differently from the others), to see if he could help. She reasoned that it would be better if he accidentally broke the jacket's zipper instead of me, so I wouldn't be in any way at fault. The man tried for several minutes with us to fix the zip, keeping a very positive and humorous attitude throughout. I wasn't really upset about the entire scenario (I wasn't emotionally attached to the shirt, though I did like it and would be annoyed a little if it was ruined). I appreciated him making me feel comfortable, and when he talked about cutting the zipper of the jacket off (MUCH TO MY ALARM) he reassured me that it wouldn't be a problem. He disappeared around the corner for a few minutes with the items while the dressing room attendant and I chatted and laughed over how ridiculous this all was. Suddenly, he came back with my blouse in hand, no jacket in sight. He was pleased because once he cut into the jacket my blouse came out very quickly. I examined the cloth and was impressed. The fabric was obviously a little stretched from being positively EATEN by the zipper, but it was amazing hole-free. I didn't ask anything else about the jacket, and was simply relieved that the whole affair was over. By that point, I had to re-examine my mood and figure out whether I still wanted to spend money on the items I had collected earlier, and after taking a moment to think, I decided to go for it. I'd been put through an embarrassing ordeal, and caused the apparent demise of a $39.99 jacket. And through it all, the staff made me feel comfortable and not like I was to blame, to which I was very grateful. So all in all, I give this Ross a 4 out of 5. I do like the stuff they sell there. No, I don't think all of the merchandise is amazing, or that the store is the best, but I nevertheless had a good experience. read more
