I go to Ross a lot. Today I was in thousand oaks and I decided to give this one a visit. First off, I was impressed with their parking. Very spacious. Walking in, the first thing I noticed is at the store was very bright and everything seemed to be pretty organized and items are easy to find. Their fitting room in the back was closed. They directed me to the front of the store where there are two self-serve fitting rooms. You are allowed to try on five items at a time. I don't think the employees check these very often as both had a bunch of hangers all over the floor and on the bench. Where they're lacking is their customer service. I had interactions with three different employees, none of which had name tags. One of them had a lanyard with no tag. The other two had nothing. Only reason I knew they worked there was because They were talking to each other next to the cash register. Anyyyywaaaays, I wanted to know if they had a specific product . The first two employees I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and just looked at me with what I can only describe as a blank stare. They were young so I gave them a pass. The third woman that I spoke with gave me no eye contact whatsoever. She was actually pretty rude to be honest. The only time she looked at me was when I got her attention... As I was asking her a question she immediately looked back down, continuing to put hangers on clothes. It's so rude. I was pretty offended actually .Especially because she was an older woman. Been to this Ross a bunch! Some of my favorite things I've gotten here- super cute shoes, holiday stuff, home decor, and very affordable clothes! Plus service is great. I have also made a bunch of returns, make sure you have your receipt! If you do and it's past the 30 days, you will get store credit for the full amount you paid. If you don't have the receipt, you will get credit for what the item is currently selling for which can be a lot less. Love ya Ross! read more

It has been a while since I last shopped at this Ross store. Upon entering, I noticed how organized this store was. Not all of the shelves in the Home department were full although the merchandise there was neatly displayed. I found the dish towels I was looking for although the towels did not have a price tag nor were there others like it close by. Couldn't locate a store associate so proceeded to the cashier. When the cashier also couldn't locate the price, he left his post and went searching. A few minutes later he returned with a comprable item and told me the cost. Our shopping trip today was frustrating. It was a disappointing experience; I had reserved a watch, but it was sold to someone else. When we checked out, I asked about the reservation, and an employee named Richard informed me he had sold it to another customer. What is the point of reserving an item if you are just going to sell it anyway? The employees appear to lack effective internal communication. I had even intended to give that watch to my father for his birthday. Reserving items at this store is a waste of time. I am very disappointed!!! read more

Came here to shop with my gf, plenty of parking. This store actually had a lot of inventory, compared to others. Everything was well organized. Dressing rooms are available, bathrooms , the check out was fast. Very polite was the cashier. Some stuff is expensive but you can find deals. There's toys , shoes clothes , car stuff, knick knacks , house ware. Pots and pans, makeup , some candies , snacks. Perfect place to get gifts or secret Santa gift. Some electronics. Really not liking the 2 fitting rooms at the front of the store. They have a large fitting room in the back that they keep closed forcing everyone to wait a long time to try on clothes. Open up the normal fitting rooms. read more

Ross is my off, and on, friend.  Generally, I like him. This location in Thousand Oaks, is near the worst of all locations. Messy, feels dirty. Sure, they still have lots of packaged cookies, coffees, liquid hand soap, colognes, jewelry, and kitchenware...all at a fraction of what you would find elsewhere. Service is good, but scarce on the floor. Worth a trip? Maybe. But the new Ross and TJ Maxx (in Newbury Park), and the Marshalls and HomeGoods up the street are way better. Man up, Ross. read more

I don't really ever shop at Ross BUT, my husband bought me a cute yellow plaid shirt from here and it didn't fit. My husband cut off the price tag since it was a gift. Whoever was working today (I should've got her name) at 11:30 went above and beyond. Even though she had people waiting in line she actually went back in the store and found this item for me so that I could do a proper return. You just don't find that nowadays. She was awesome and deserves to be recognized! Better customer support than you find at Nordstrom!! I actually stayed and bought something that was twice as much because of her. read more

This store is seriously shit. Yes they have good stuff and the prices are incredibly reasonable. However, it has to be the dirtiest, messiest, most unorganized store ever! Shelves full of dust and products on the floor. The staff is a whole different story! Their attitudes are dirtier than the store. Long lines, the worst customer service, and a disaster to return anything! They refuse to let you return anything, even if it goes against their policy. My daughter and I recently went there to find shoes. The shoes she wanted to get had a security tag on it and wouldn't allow her to walk in it. I asked an employee if hd could remove it but he said I had to go up to customer service. A younger employee asked the manager and she replied rudely. She said no because they would get dirty. I've been coming to this location regularly for the last 4-5 years & have been very happy with this store. They are typically stocked very well with dresses, which is my main focus when I've come here. When I first came to this store, I had lost 70lbs. I was shocked at how many dresses I could fit it & at any given time, I'd purchase 5-8 dresses for work & up coming events. Although, this store was rated pretty low, I don't agree. The store has always been clean when I've come in. The staff has always been nice & friendly, & helpful. Ross Dress for Less is like a treasure hunt. Sometimes you find a bargain sometimes you don't. I was there a couple of weeks ago. They had a great collection of pet beds. (I don't need one.) Another long time haunt of mine. Have been patronizing this store since the 80's. Back in the day, I found gorgeous designer mix and match outfits there. The buyers have changed the mix of merchandise over the years, and I don't always make this a regular shopping stop any longer. Every so often, I'll go in, like last Saturday. Was on the hunt for an evening purse and a glittery golden scarf. Score, on both fronts! I actually found two scarves, one more of a champagne-gold tone, with a bejeweled bag to match. The other was more of a true golden color, and ended up being the best match for my outfit. Will I keep the other scarf and bag? Hmm, the holidays will be here soon. At the prices I paid, it could be worth keeping them for the next dress-up event. Caught a time when check-out was quick & easy. I think I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. Was greeted at the door as I walked in, and treated graciously at the cashier stand. Didn't peruse the whole store, but was quite happy that I found what I needed quickly. This is a pretty typical Ross Store. Medium sized compared to others, with reasonable selection of women's clothes. Some homegoods, shoes and men's wear. Dressing room is convenient and the staff is generally friendly. They used to have a better/larger selection of large women's shoes (size 11 and 12) but the last two or three times I've been here they've had almost none. read more

Dear Ross, you are not above state law. You do not get to pick and choose what laws you follow. They refused to cash me out on a gift card that was less than $10. At a consumers request, it's ca law that a business do this. They were rude and unprofessional and disregarded all attempts to listen and provide good service. I will never return. All the team members at your Ross location are wonderful. And I think it's because of her. she has trained them to be professional and alway greet people as she does. I really appreciate having this store nearby. Every staff member I encountered today (8/03/20) was upbeat and friendly. And during the COVID pandemic, this was particularly refreshing in light of the restrictions that the employees must face. This store seems to be more organized than other RDFL I have shopped at. I have been a 15 year customer, and have spend so much money here and I am shocked at the bald guy that works there, how terrible, rude, and nasty he treated me. I had witnesses inside the store that I was in front of the line, and he told me to go to the back of the line, even though I was first. He made a nasty comment, saying, "liar", "liar". Love shopping at this Ross and have never had an issue- however their placement of pricing stickers is extremely inconvenient and annoying to customers :( all of the frames I buy have the Ross sticker smack on the glass on the frame making it extremely hard to take off. We usually buy little decor here as gifts and they put the stickers in the most obvious spot of the product instead of just on the back or on the bottom and it is very annoying to spend so much time trying to clean the sticker off :/ read more

You really have to wade through a ton of stuff, and most of it is just plain awful, but when you find that gem-- what a feeling! I'm only looking at shoes, shorts and shirts when I go into a Ross, so when the stock's not that enticing, I'm pretty much in and out. The aisles are full of khaki pants and denim, and since this is Southern California, I don't have much use for that stuff. I've seen big, puffy jackets that I would buy in a second, but it's never cold enough for me to wear a jacket. In winter, all I need is a hoodie, and the hoodies at Ross are the "busy" ones, you know? With all the embroidery and flowery lines covering the entire sweatshirt? Not my style. Some of the things that made me feel lucky when I found them: red, gold and green Reef flip-flops, Nike Andre Agassi tennis shoes with fluorescent green accents, Mexican-league soccer jerseys, and a comfy pair of New Balance running shoes that I never wear. I really wish they had a better selection of t-shirts. Everything's so logo'd out and Sport Chalet-looking. Who wears this Quicksilver and Billabong stuff anymore anyway, can I ask you? These names are beyond 80s, and not in a good way, either. I'd compare going to Ross with going fishing, but relaxing on a lake is probably way nicer than digging through racks and racks of unacceptable merchandise. Parking lot is so crowded and hard to find a parking spot. The store is so overly crowded that people bumped into me several times. The selection of items is larger than other Ross stores, but a lot of items were misplaced as well. The line too about 25 minutes just to get through. BIG man w/BAD attitude He was publicly trying to humiliate me:( NEXT: As a Senior- and someone w/a bad back who cannot carry heavy things-- the store's LACK of shopping carts that can be wheeled out to one's car is incomprehensible AND isn't it against the law to discriminate against the handicapped?
