1 star for this Ross Store I purchased a pair of pliers on May 12, 2026, and after a few uses, I returned it on May 28, because the latch broke--likely due to poor material quality. When I tried to return it, the staff member, Marcel, accused me of breaking it myself, despite my explanation that it was already defective. She even questioned why I hadn't returned it earlier, as if I would return a perfectly working item. This entire experience was unprofessional. Marcel's handling of the return process was poor, and I wish she had better training in customer service. Otherwise, she would probably be better suited in the back room organizing clothes, as she is simply not competent in serving customers. I'm sharing this with my 115 million Google readers to warn them. Because of this, I will not be returning to this store. Additionally, this woman took the defective plier and did not give me my refund. I was also not provided a new return transaction receipt showing the item was processed back into inventory. I was only given my original receipt, so I am unsure whether the return was properly completed in the system, even though the product was taken back. She just gave me the old receipt back and no money was given. Usually, after a refund the cashier would give a new receipt along with the old and the money for the refund. It's about $7.00, so I guess she can keep it, but I will not be returning. This was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I have had at a Ross location. What made the situation worse was the attitude and lack of professionalism during the interaction. Instead of trying to resolve the issue calmly or assist a paying customer, I felt like I was being blamed and dismissed over a low-cost defective item. Customers should not feel uncomfortable or accused when returning a broken product that clearly failed after normal use. I understand store policies exist, but there is also a proper way to speak to customers. A simple explanation, professionalism, and basic courtesy would have made a big difference. They are rude and they ignore when there's a line of people just so they can chat with each other and play on their phones. Wow. I just had the worst customer service of my life at this store! I bought a large area rug (7 feet by 10 feet). It was rolled up and heavy and I had it balanced precariously in the shopping cart. After I paid and was exiting the store, I was stopped by an employee who told me that I wasn't allowed to take the cart out of the store. I asked how I was supposed to get this large item out to my car (I should mention that I am a 5'4" woman and I was there alone). He told me that I could leave it in the store and pull my car up to the front. I told him that I was parked right in front of the store, but it was still too far for me to carry this huge, heavy rug by myself. He still said that I couldn't take the cart out of the store. In addition to the employee that stopped me, there were 2 other male employees standing at the front of the store. All three men were just standing there. I asked if they could at least help me carry the rug out to my car, and they wouldn't do that either. They literally just stood there and watched me wrench my back as I dragged this rug out of the store. This is after I stood in line for 20 minutes and payed $117 to this store. This is how I was treated. I should have just turned around and got my money back. It was so ridiculously rude, I even had other customers approach me in the parking lot to comment on it. A woman told me that she witnessed the whole thing and couldn't believe that, in her words, "there were three able-bodied men just standing there and not one of them would help you." There were other items for sale in the store that were bigger than the rug I bought. I suppose that if you bought a bookcase or any large piece of furniture, you have to be prepared to lift and carry it out of the store by yourself. No cart, no assistance from Ross. I'm a regular shopper at this location. The staff is great, and the manager (Ms. Brown) is extremely engaged and leads by example. She often jumps onto the registers to help out when the lines are long. She's very friendly and makes shopping there fun. She is also very patient. I've seen some very disrespectful and entitled clients, many who have made comments below about being treated badly or targeted when they weren't stealing (they were, lol!) Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt. Too many entitled customers who treat the employees disrespectfully, make a mess of the store, shoplift, and then jump online to post bad reviews. I was shopping for some dresses, and found two that I wanted to try on that looked like they would work. As I was browsing at a few other items, my 5 year old grand-daughter told me that she had to go potty. I walked to the fitting room sales associate who informed me that customers cannot use their restrooms. I pointed to my grand-daughter and said it is her that needs to use it. And she said no one can use our restrooms here. I could barely believe that news. I had to put the dresses down, and walk out. I'm giving this Ross 5 stars today because I found it to be very stocked and organized. It was also earlier in the day on a Thursday so not too busy. I would avoid this place in the evenings and on weekends though. It can get a bit crazy with kids running around the place messing things up and the line can get crazy long. The few associates I talked to today were also very nice. Anyway, I stopped in today and as usual, I was looking for a Dutch Oven. I've been looking for one for over a month and couldn't justify paying over $50 for one. Those things cost like $60-$100 and more! Today was my day because I found it here. A Wolfgang Puck super heavy 5 quart cast iron Dutch Oven for only $35! I feel like I scored big time. They also had a pretty stocked jewelry section. I got some very cute Amrita Singh earrings for $8, regularly $100. That is crazy! There were all kinds of good stuff here. I go from looking at the snacks, to housewares, to shoes, to dresses, and yoga mats. Oh yeah, and I got socks and some hats and a scarf. OMG! I went on a shopping spree and I could afford it! I love accessory shopping here. Their gym clothes are kind of whack though. I wonder why some of items are priced differently than at other Ross's. I was at the Northgate one and bought the Bed Head Shampoo for $12.99 and over here it was $14.99. My cousin also bought a dress here and found it cheaper at the Northgate one too by a few bucks. I understand that Ross is in business because things are super cheap, and in order to keep overhead down, organization and cleanliness is not valued as much as other stores value it. This was the worst Ross I've ever been to. I'll start with the fact that they do not provide any public restrooms to their customers. I can't imagine shopping with children here, as was the case for MANY of their customers and not having access to a bathroom. I'm sure many people have abandoned their carts for that reason. Next, I was here on a regular Saturday--in other words it wasn't a holiday weekend, but the check out line was worse than any line I've waiting in at any store during the Christmas season. It went down the front of the store, around the corner, alll the way to the back around the corner again and all the way to the furthest end of Ross. Part of this reason was that there were only three of 7 or 8 cashiers open and they were taking their sweet time. I waited in line for 1 entire hour just to purchase a wind chime. I felt like I had just left Disney land without any of the fun when I finally left the store. It was the absolute worst. Finally, the store was a complete and utter disaster. Half the items I looked at were damaged or missing pieces. There were isles that were such a disaster that I couldn't even walk down them without stepping on merchandise, there were half consumed food products, Starbucks and other shoppers beverage trash sitting on the shelves ALLLLLLL Throughout the store. I've gone here multiple times & it's just sad that it's always a horrible experience each time. I don't recommend anyone to go here unless you're okay dealing with clothes & things on the floor; and employees who just doesn't smile or give good customer service, period! One time, cashier who was ringing my items up didn't even put my stuff in a plastic bag (there's about 10 items). I asked her why she didn't put it in a bag & she tells me "Sorry we're out of bags" & I looked over to the next register that's literally right next to where she was standing to find out there's plenty of bags she could've grabbed to put my stuff in. This is probably the dirtiest, messiest and craziest Ross ever. Hahahha. It's always messy, never clean, and never organized. When you enter the room, there is a security guard (a nice one though) that greets you. you walk, and the sections are messy, with signs that are mostly accurate, but nonetheless, very messy. There are sizes that are not in order and the shoes... they are the worst!! haha, shoe sizes every where, messy and very unorganized. Their bedding section is very small, and doesn't have much selection. The rest, well, is the same. Consistently open items laying around, and clothes out of place. The lines take FOREVER during busy store hours. Like, seriously long. Sometimes, even regular times like a week night or weekend is super busy too. Seems crappy. Ehhh. I go to this Ross often. It's usually very busy with really long lines. I went to visit yesterday and it was in really bad condition. Southcenter generally is a pretty busy area. In this case, the company should have enough workers so people aren't in harms way. It was seriously a hazard being in the store. I took a picture of this particular spot. I love shopping at Ross but this store one of the workers was very disrespectful. First, I got this bikini bottom and she said she can't sell it because there wasn't the top. So I was like okay where is the top? And she said I don't know you have to go find it, it's somewhere in the store. Wtf... I swear it's your job to make sure the clothes are in it's correct spot. I didn't end up getting the bikini bottom cause it's whatever's. I am so upset with the service at this Ross today. Came here and it seemed like every service representative was in a bad mood. Fyi this is not a Ross , this is a playground for children that sells stuff to the adults . They love to climb on the chairs and tables. I've never quite seen anything like it. I gave the store one store as a learning tool, if you ever wanted to teach your 14-year-old about birth control, take her here on a Saturday about 1 PM. It will scare her to death. This is a great place to teach pregnancy prevention to your teen. read more

Only reason why I am giving this Ross a 2 star is because of how unorganized and messy it ALWAYS IS. no matter what time of the day I come. Also the service at this location is very boring, rude or careless with a splash of no hospitality! But who can blame them? They get loads of people running through destroying all the aisles through all business hours of the day! But anyway, if you can look past the messy aisles you can find some good stuff when you come on a day they have new shipment. For instance I finally found a decent cute tie for my work! Hot pink! Only took like 4 visits LOL. But other than that, great prices on items and some great deals on childrens clothing, shoes and kitchen ware. If you come, come when its slow in the morning, that way theres less clutter (hopefully). Overall, I am a regular every once or twice a month. Rude ass people working here. It's a shame because sometimes I find some good stuff here. My partner tried to return some shoes that haven't been worn because they were suppose to be gifted. We couldn't find the receipt but never had any issues before for returning any times. They MADE A BIG FUSS ABOUT NOT HAVING THE RECEIPT. We've returned items before at Ross, and all they needed was the card that was used fir the purchase. If they have a new fucking return policy, then that smart ass manager should have said something. This place is nothing but a mad house. Good luck on finding the super cheap things they have - you'll have to sift through all the clutter and disorganization first. I swear, it looks like they never really clean up their aisles or clothes except for once every couple of months. I was there to buy some sheets and I think only about half the packages were actually on shelves, not in the aisles. Not of any fault of the store itself but while shopping here they came over the loud speaker and said something to the effect of "Please keep your children by your side. Do not leave them alone in the toy or shoe departments. If your child opens it or breaks it, you're buying it. Once again, please stop and look around you. If you don't see your kids by your side, please go find them." You know you're in trouble when they have to tell you to stop and look for them. I would only come here for the super cheap prices. I managed to get a king size set of sheets and a king size comforter for $65 total. Awesome deals when you can find them through all the clutter - and the children. read more

Really a 2.5 and that's still not bad. What can I say? Its a good place to go bargain hunting and more often than not you end up spending a lot of your money here.. I like bargain shopping and I love finding what I need without paying an arm and a leg for it, so I frequent the Ross chain a lot. Sometimes I laugh at myself, because I go in looking for one thing, and I come out with a whole bunch of stuff, sans the one item I was on a mission to get.. oops! :) Location: Ross at Southcenter isn't located really really close to the mall but is still near enough to the crazy strip that its busy all the time. But eh, what can you do? I can get here easily through back roads, so its fine for me. If you can avoid the mall traffic, do so! Prices: Good for me! Selection: Its always different! If you can't find it in one Ross, try another.. I was told that they get their shipments in every day so there is always a chance. I will say though that the selection here has started to get rather sparse.. Maybe i am not going the right days, or something is off with the organization of the store, but man.. the racks have been pretty "meh". Cleanliness/Organization: I'd have to say this one is pretty dirty.. Crud all over the floor, clothes hung everywhere and thrown on top of things, home items strewn about, toys everywhere... I'm not really sure who is to blame about this.. but I suspect that its the lazy customers that like to throw things about if it accidentally falls off a hanger. I've seen on more than one occasion shoppers next to me hastily going through racks and just leaving items on the floor if they fall.. (I for one cannot stand that type of shopper, as I have had to deal with them when I worked retail.. Not nice.. In fact its rude! Just pick it up!) I will say that I think they can do with more people on the floor to keep an eye on things/people/kids. Staff: Nice and prompt.. I didn't have any problems with staff and didn't have to wait in line for very long.. If I did wait it was mostly due to a customer/missing price/etc. They had a good number of people manning the cash wraps, 1 at the fitting rooms and 2 people running the clothes back out to the floor.. Not sure if there were more, as I wasn't really paying attention. All in all, I have been to nicer Ross Stores. Treasure hunting is great, just don't mind the sloppiness of the store. read more

This place is the worst. I went in there yesterday to buy some stuff for my friends wedding. They take returned items that have been worn and have stains. I didn't notice the stains in the terrible lighting at the store but definitely did when I got home! Worst customer service ever. I came around 9pm and there was only one cashier at that moment. She put my stuff in the bag like normally cashier does but never handed to me. She ignored me when i paid for everything, not even put my bag up the counter. She didnt even look at me when gave me the receipt. She was like "im done so u pick up ur bag by urself".
