We had a battery problem with our 2023 van and we live in a rural part of the Santa Cruz mtns. AAA sent Kendrick of Rossi towing up and he spent considerable time testing and jump starting. When he got it started he stayed to make sure it didn't die. I wanted to drive it to help charge the battery more but discovered that my rear camera was not working. Kendrick tested the fuses and found the broken one. He looked for spares in my fuse box (none) and grabbed the right amp fuse from his truck but it was the wrong size. He came back the next day on his own and gave me a small box of fuses and stayed to make sure the camera was working and there we no other issues. He did so much beyond expectations! read more

Mixed feelings about this business. The person who came out to help me with my battery issue was awesome. He was kind, prompt, thorough, and friendly. No issues with this person who came to my home and his tow truck to get me a new battery. However, 11 months later, that battery died and was not serviceable. I called ROSSI and was greeted by the most rude bitch I could ever describe on the other end of a phone. She was Kurt, disrespectful, had no patience, obviously did not care about her job or the business. If I were her boss I would fire her ass as soon as possible because she is not good for that business. She did not come through and get me the invoice that I requested on the purchase of my battery 11 months earlier so I could get a new battery exchange at Napa auto parts. Honestly, don't do business with this company simply because if you need any kind of customer service you will have to reach out to this bitch who is extremely rude and uncaring. This review is to applaud, 2 service technicians by the name Jacob & George. Both these men are highly skilled, extremely kind and go the extra mile to ensure an A+ experience. They demonstrate a desire to make sure the customer is safe & pleased. This is a rare quality within the Tow industry. I was so impressed that I told Mr. Jacob that I would be delivering a six pack with his name on it, and I intend to. I wish I could say the same for their colleagues however I can't. i have never written a review like this in my life. my partner and i have been caling since 8 am. i am out of my shift from my job and these people (the mechanic) say that its a complicated fix. it had been since 8 in the morning that we have been calling for a batter change. we have been bothering and calling and i get you all have jobs to tend to but this is ridiculous. next time remember to do your job and call us back. we could have taken it to an actual mechanic with an actual tow but we found yall in hopes. it took twelve (12) whole hours for you to say that they couldn't do it. i worked a whole 8 hour day shift and hoped the battery would get replaced by the time i went home. read more

He got here in a timely manner, was friendly & professional & replaced my flat with the spare that I had. Heartless! My 16-year-old daughter volunteered at the Wharf to Wharf Race on Sunday, July 23, 2023, and mistakenly parked in a temporary no parking zone at around 6am. Our car was towed around 7am. She realized the car was gone around 9am. I called Santa Cruz Police and they directed me to Rossi's Towing. I called Rossi's at 9:19am and confirmed they had the car. We drove from North Monterey County and arrived at Rossi's at 10:15am and a driver was already on-scene releasing a car to a different customer. He eventually released the car to us at around 10:30am and charged us $620. I called Rossi's on August 21st and 22nd and explained the situation. They initially said they had no record of the tow. After I emailed them a copy of the receipt, they acknowledged the tow and essentially said the fees were in line. While we understand they have a business to run, their fees fit the definition of predatory. They obviously took advantage of the situation with their inflated costs. Their fees are at least three times more than Monterey when Monterey tows for Farmer's Market. My daughter felt horrible and is paying us back for the tow bill. With a part time job, it will take nearly 48 hours of pay. She said she will still volunteer for the race next year . read more

My car broke down. I have AAA for towing, but my problem is that I use a wheelchair and cannot get in or out of the tow truck. Nicole at Rossi's arranged for a truck to tow my car and got me a Lyft to take me and my wheelchair home. Dave, the tow truck driver was friendly, kind and professional and waited patiently with me for over an hour for the Lyft ride. He then helped me to get myself, my wheelchair, and all my shopping bags into the Lyft. It took about 2 1/2 hours to complete but they did it well. read more

I don't ever write reviews unless it's about something outstanding but my experience with Rossi's is just frustrating and disappointing. My car battery is dead and I had originally set up a tow with a different company early in the morning but they flaked out on the time so I decided to contact Rossi's Towing. They told me they no longer do towing (not updated on the website) so I asked about Roadside service and the woman taking my call in the morning (around 7:30 am) told me she would have a driver get in contact with me within the hour. I had work at 8am so I called in late to get my car fixed but no phone call was returned. Around 8:30 I called again to follow up but I was met with "no one called you yet?". I instead asked for someone to come around 4pm when I was off work so I didn't waste time waiting for no one. They agreed and I got home around 4 and called to confirm but it was a different person who answered the phone and told me the same thing: "Let me contact my driver to get in touch with you" but an hour and a half later I call again to follow up but I was transferred to a different woman than the one in the morning. At this point I am tired and frustrated but I just want this battery done. This is when I finally get a call back just to learn that they "decline to replace the battery" because it is a "complicated install". I drive a BMW which has an easily accessible battery in the trunk. I do not need the battery registration but all I wanted was to get the car running again but it was "too complicated" for certified technicians?? This was my breaking point because I spent nearly the entire day trying to just set up the appointment for them to tell me that they don't want to. I did not want to be annoying or anything but I have been trying to just set up a time. I understand they are busy but between the number of people that should be properly communicating, there is definitely a flawed system. It should not take nearly the entire day to get a response from a roadside service business. I hope and pray no one tries to get in contact with this business when their car is broken down on the 17 highway. I genuinely am so frustrated because again I tried calling at 7:30 AM(morning) and FINALLY got a "no, we won't do it because it's too hard" around 7:30 PM (evening). If it was a simple no in the morning I would not have been upset or annoyed but I don't think this is how business should communicate. Instead, my landlord is traveling 3 hours to help me out since I need to drive to Los Angeles Monday. Upsetting. Frustrating. Disappointing. read more

My battery died due to leaving a light on. George came out to check the battery. Got here about an hour faster than the AAA app said they would. They actually had a map showing exactly where he was. Very cool. George was friendly, professional, and fast. He pointed out options that I had for replacing the battery and the costs. He had one in his truck, so I had him do it. Did it fast and I was on my way. What I thought would disrupt my day and force me to cancel plans, ended up being a minor ripple and I was on my way to continue with my plans. We have had AAA for 35 years, now that we find out Rossi is AAA's only provider in Santa Cruz we will be cancelling. They not only refused to come down our road because 1/5 of a mile is gravel they put a note in with AAA saying the road is inaccessible so that no AAA call to our house will ever be covered by AAA again. This is a 1/5 mile road that we just spent $27k on to get graded, a base layer suitable for asphalt, and gravel along with new drainage. We have had fire trucks, ups trucks, large delivery trucks, and now another tow company and not one had a problem...but a tow truck driver is afraid to drive on a safe and engineered gravel road? Avoid using them if you have any choice at all. Not only can they ruin your night they can ruin your tow insurance. read more

This company is a money hungry scamming joke and the staff that had arrived to "help" me out was just plain out rude. No sympathy for my situation. I was off of work at around 11pm on the 17 heading home. Work is about 45 minutes away from my home and I unfortunately got a flat tire while driving back home and had to pull over to a safe area. I was driving my fiancés car and called him so he could contact AAA. They send a man by the name of Mike. When he steps off of his tow truck he already seems annoyed or upset that he had to be there to do his job. As he's asking for the credentials I explained to him I had just got off of work and I had photos of my fiancé's credentials and basically said he wouldn't be able to help but would call AAA. After he called AAA and said they couldn't honor this. He said they would have to charge me directly and so I asked the amount and he said he would have to calculate because they charge based off of time that it took him to and from my location plus the amount of time it takes him to change my tire. I told him I would call my fiancé , before I could even finish my sentence he would continue to cut me off and was threatening saying I was refusing service . I was at this point frustrated, I had responded to him that he didn't even give me a minute to talk it over with my fiancé and he responded well what are you going to do I'm just standing here and I'm going to charge you more because you are taking up more time. Which I responded sir it hasn't even been a minute and I just explained to you what I was doing. He then said so you are refusing service as I'm talking to my fiancé and walked away. We decided to go ahead with the service and the fee at that point of $250. I cave because I'm basically out of options and just want to get home from work. I asked him if he accepted Apple Pay and was just aggressive because I didn't have a credit card or cash to pay. At the end he wasn't able to help me and took off in .25 seconds after I stayed I didn't have either. I wouldn't ever recommend this company not even as a last resort. We are considering parting ways with AAA because of this inconvenience as well. If I could give both companies a negative amount of stars I definitely would. Terrible! read more

My battery died while camping. They were there to help earlier than expected, the person helping me was friendly, informative, and fast.

If you are a triple a member in Santa Cruz you are very likely to get one of these guys. They are quick, efficient and super nice. They have helped me out on more than one occasion (last year battery and now my flat). I called triple A at 7:15 and by 7:35 someone was there with their hardcore jack and the job was done in less than 15 minutes. For the record- I am a lady who can change her own tire but in my work attire at 7:15 AM I am not going to spend 30-45 minutes hiking up my car on that super small P.O.S jack that comes with my accord. He also checked my spare tire and made sure I was going immediately to get it fixed. Ladies- some words of advice 1) learn how to change your own tire 2) have a triple a membership 3) have a piece of wood in your car in case there is mud or an uneven surface so you can properly put on your spare. read more

I've used AAA my entire life with no problems. Then enter Rossi's towing. My truck was broken down in pajaro. I needed it towed around the corner, less then two miles to my mechanic. The driver jumped out, was super friendly, loaded my truck then continued to EXTORT 100 Dollars off me because my truck is "lifted". it's not. It's stock. Same height in 2021 as 2001 when I drove off the assembly line. Not only that, I've had it towed locally by them with no " lifted fee. I'm disgusted with AAA for giving these clowns their contract. Rossi's was going to leave me stranded in pajaro at 10:30 at night after waiting 5 hours for them to show all because they are a greedy company. Side note- BAR,BBB, and AAA have been alerted with documentation and proof your driver failed to produce a receipt for my 100 dollars on top of my unlimited AAA card. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I seriously can't believe how unprofessional the lady who we spoke to on the phone was yesterday afternoon. I've never had to deal with someone this incredibly rude. We were driving on highway 17 and our car broke down, crap! We pulled over at a random stop, both of our cell phones were at 15% battery so we were frantically looking to find a towing company to tow our car back home before our phones died. AAA directed us to Rossi's and we got on the phone with a lady (sounded like she could be anywhere between 20-40 is my guess). She needed to know where we were located and we did our best job at describing the location but truthfully, we weren't exactly sure. She said "hold on one second" and I assume she started searching for a location to send a truck. That's when she started saying "I hate my job. These people are dumba**es" and more or less of that. I'm not sure if she meant to mute herself or if she was just doing that on purpose but I almost couldn't be this was happening. We were up on a hill to stay away from traffic. She then asked what model the car was. I wasn't sure what the exact model was and I had told her I needed to walk down. She said something under her breathe that I knew was rude, so I asked her 4 times "I'm sorry what was that?" until she finally replied "I need to know the model." I then said "ok I'm walking over but I don't appreciate your attitude." Then she hung up!! She actually hung up on me, 10 minutes into our call. I'm at 6% battery by this point and this miserable woman actually hung up on me. We arrived at 7:40 to get my things knowing that they opened at 8. It's very unprofessional and bad business practice to have a sign in the window with different hours. The dispatcher told me the guy is on his way and that due to Covid they open at 9 (?? An hour later?) Change the sign if you really open at 9. The dispatcher also said the lead driver would be there in twenty minutes after the phone call. My car was not towed, I had gotten in a wreck after my car had spun out on hwy 17 and it is truly a painful experience to be sitting here waiting to retrieve my things. I am sore from the accident and had to wake up early to get here only to wait upwards of an hour for an employee to arrive. Not to mention it is my friends time also, since I do not have a vehicle I had to arrange for a ride. I don't mind that due to Covid your business has been restructured but I do think there is extreme dissonance and lack of clarity to the people who entrust you with their vehicles. You guys don't answer your phone. It's been over 2 hours since we put in the AAA order and they assigned it to you. You don't update your driver on AAA dashboard so I know if you're even coming. I finally reach your operator and your operator says they don't know which driver is assigned to me and that I have to figure out who the driver is. But I can't figure that out because your driver haven't updated AAA!! Basic customer service is a must. I understand that you can be delayed for a variety of reasons but without any communication, you are highly frustrating your customer. read more

I rarely need to have service from a towing company but for whatever reason my truck decided to misfire on one of its cylinders on Friday 8/14/2020 at 9:20am while I'm 30 miles from my office (San Jose) during a job related appointment I had in Santa Cruz. Luckily as I was pulling my truck in to the parking lot and the check engine light came on and was running a bit rough. I turn it off and immediately call my mechanic and tell him that I going to have my truck towed to his shop in San Jose. I then call AAA at 9:35am, they said it could be up to 65 minutes to get a tow truck out to my location and I said OK not a problem. At 9:42am I receive a text from ROSSI'S towing stating that their driver will meet me at 2510 Soquel Ave in Santa Cruz to provide tow service. GREAT!..... so I wait for a while, at 10:28am I send a reply text to the same number that gave me for a quick update from Rossi's (in which it does state on their initial text that if I have questions or need any assistance to reply back) so I did.... no reply. 20 minutes goes by and I resend the same text again, finally get a reply stating "I'm sorry we were busy so AAA sent your call to another company, I'm not sure what there eta was you may have to call AAA for an update" So in other words Rossi's towing cancelled the call with AAA because they were "too busy" but decided to wait over an hour and never once called me or even text me to update me that they were too busy or couldn't get to me... to me that's crap customer service. Rossi's shop was literally a 5 min walk from where I was (look at the uploaded photos) pick up the phone and just update me on why you can't be there. If you know your dispatch board is already booked solid then tell AAA that you can't get to the call and they can get someone else, don't leave people stranded for hours because your inability to communicate properly!! I call AAA again and they informed me that Rossi's towing cancelled the pick up because they weren't able to get to me, I asked the representative why didn't they just call or text me since they had already sent me a text at 9:42am stating they would be picking my vehicle up for tow service? She couldn't answer that. Luckily another towing company was able to pick me up at 11:45 and get my truck towed to my mechanic in San Jose. As for Rossi's? I'll never EVER use them again and would strongly advise against anyone else from using them. Their lack of customer support was utterly ridiculous. Thanks for nothing. read more
