Taking the old location of Nevin's, the owners of Rossmoor Donuts have transformed this space into a brighter and more vibrant donut shop. The space is clean and I have no complaints about the service. As for the donuts, I rate them between 3 and 4 stars. While I'm not a cake donut person, I think their cakes tasted better than the yeasted ones since some of the ones I got were not as fluffy as expected. I guess one can say that their shop is better than some, but not the best versus other places around Orange County. Overall, a good option among the other shops in the neighborhood. read more

When I visit family SoCal, a guilty pleasure is donuts (!), which I usually don't eat at home because it's just me mostly that eats them. But with more donut loving family here, I usually buy a box to share. Tried Rossmoor Donuts for the first time. Was greeted with a friendly hello as I came in and everyone there was welcomed in a similarly friendly way. Clean store, good variety of donuts, creatively decorated with cereal pieces (looks like Captain Crunch!), multi-colored sprinkles, coconut shavings. There's a massive (put your two fists together and you have the length) bear claw, and you can see that raisin roll/pastry, which means it's not just all donuts. So far, I had the raspberry jelly filled glazed donut, which was good. Loads of filling, which seemed to be a cut above normal jelly filling (maybe had some seeds in it? Some texture for sure). A nice donut shop that's friendly, makes very good donuts, and cares about the appearance/decor so there's a pleasant place to eat your treats if you eat there. read more

Came here for an apple fritter and a jalapeño croissant. Staff were nice and the place was clean. The apple fritter was delicious. As for the croissant, it was good but I wish the jalapeños were baked in instead of being place in between the sloced croissant but that could just be my preference. Parking was easy. I ordered a typical mixed box of donuts and have to say that I enjoyed the flavors of the blueberry glazed cake, coconut glazed n cookies & cream glazed. The raised donuts felt pillowy soft with a nice light chew. The display case looked very appetizing with all the colorful n shiny glazed donuts. There is only a couple tables to sit so maybe best to get it to go. The folks working were friendly n smiling. read more

Everything about this place is average. The employee/possibly owner was polite. The store is clean, but nothing that stands out about it. The doughnuts were just an average doughnut. I bought a half dozen doughnuts and each one was different. Meaning the consistency of the doughnuts. Some were actually nice and fluffy and some were a little doughy and almost not quite done. They had a little bit of a greasy look and texture to them as well. There are a lot of doughnut in California and just meets the average mark, so I most likely will not be visiting this place again. Rossmoor/Los Alamitos isn't lacking in good donut places but this new shop is a welcome addition. The location used to be where the popular, long-time neighborhood fixture Nevin's Donuts once was. Another Fun Fact is even after several days the donuts stay soft & fresh! On our first visit @ 9:30 in December the display cases weren't full but my boyfriend was still able to select some of his favorite styles. He was very happy with the freshness, taste & texture. I took a taste & thought they were sweet but not too sweet & made with love. On the second visit the display cases were quite full & the BF tried the coffee & the ham, cheese & jalapeño croissant. Both were very good. The croissant is quite large but not exactly over stuffed with the tasty ham & cheese. However, the pastry was quite flaky & tender. You could tell it was made by a professional. The shop has a clean, modern look & offers some seating. I wouldn't mind a bit more decor but the front windows were painted with lots of whimsical, colorful holiday images. The prices seem lower than many other places but the quality is definitely top-notch. They don't cheap out on the paper products either. The packaging is really nice. Service is friendly & helpful. My second time here & I have found my favorite. Customer service is amazing. Met the owner & very nice young lady. They have quite a few selections of donuts & variety of croissants & bagels. Let me tell you, when I found out that they have ESPRESSO machine???!! I'm literally sold! Y'all know most donuts places only serve brew & water down coffee. Donuts here are very tasty & FRESH!! Rossmoor Donuts is just the perfect addition to the neighborhood! The service was top notch, and very welcoming. There was a line when we got there, but it moved quickly, there's a TV to watch while you wait, and we want our local spots to be busy! Now to the donuts, I was heading to my son's baseball game so I picked up a dozen for the kids. My daughter got donut holes and said they were 10/10 and I got the Apple Fritter, and it was to die for. I almost wish it was bad so I wouldn't be craving it the way I'm going to, lol. Went in 5 minutes before closing. The person at the counter was very kind and pleasant, despite us coming in at the last minute. I got an apple fritter and a glazed old fashioned (both delicious). And got my daughters some donuts that they gave a thumbs up! I also asked if I could get cups of water for my girls, and despite them not having dispensable water, they took one of the bottles for purchase, and filled up 2 cups at no charge! Location: it's located in a plaza with the best cleaners around. There's plenty of parking in front and rear. Easily accessible from main road. Storefront: Beautiful new signage outside which is how I happen to see it when leaving the cleaners. When you enter it is so captivating inside. Very clean and modern. The owner welcomes you with a smile and a hello. That's huge to me because it's the first impression you have of an establishment. She was very nice and welcoming. There were a few people sitting inside chit chatting as well. Donut: There's a wife variety of donuts. I decided since I wanted to support a local new business but wasn't sure how their product was, that I'd get a classic glazed donut. If you can perfect the classic I'm willing to try the others. This glazed donut is AMAZING. There are a few other local spots near by but this one tops those. Price: little higher than other donut stores but it's worth it. So happy to see a new donut shop open back in Los Al, replacing the previous ownership. Once you meet Sophia, it's like an instant friendship and the service obviously matches. This spot breaks away from the sad, dated interiors of traditional donut shops and brings a clean, modern vibe that matches the quality of Sophie's work. She may act casual about slipping in unique pastries from time to time, but it reflects her time studying abroad in Paris, where she refined and elevated her craft (yes, croissants done the true Parisian way). I'm also a big believer in presentation done right (not over the top), and Sophia has clearly elevated the packaging, ditching the typical pink boxes we're all tired of seeing.
