Great diner! We stopped here twice in the last week....so good we hit this spot again on our way home. Biscuits and gravy and the hash on our first trip. Both were delicious, portions generous...great atmosphere, we sat at the counter and watched Rosy cook and engage all in fun conversations. On the second, we grabbed a table and enjoyed more yummy breakfast treats. Home made spicy sausage, huge egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich and we split a hot, fluffy pancake the size of a dinner plate! A must give a try! Once you get past the sweet attitude the dear Rosy can put off you realize how amazing the place and the food is that she obviously takes pride in! Rarely do we find a restaurant with 5 STARS, so we had to stop in. We were there about 5 minutes before closing time, which was not the best decision on our part, but she let us stay and even allowed another family to come in late after us and just blamed it on the fact the we already sat down, might as well let them too! LOL! Now if you have thin skin, don't even park and get out of your car, but if your ready for a laugh, a CLEAN joint and some simply good food, give Rosy a chance, sit down and let her give you a reason to miss your momma! Rosy's is the quintessential greasy spoon, but a real one, not a faux diner. I had the garbage omlette, which is everything -- ham, homemade sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, everything. And it was big enough to keep me going for the rest of the day. My son had scrambled eggs and homemade sausage, plus biscuits and homemade sausage gravy. Are you hearing about the homemade sausage? That's because it's really, really good. And then there's Rosy, who is quite a lady. She doesn't hold back any opinions. Get there early enough to listen to her banter with the locals. I haven't even got my food yet and I already love this place. Rosy's is what an American dinner is supposed to be like. I was finishing up a five day backpack in the area and, after cleaning up, decided to see what the local establishments had in store. I had seen the billboards coming into town for some other place but when I saw this little restaurant I new I had to stop to sample the food. Rosy was a delight to watch as she waited tabled, chatted with the customers, and made sure everyone's food was cook to order. Not sure about the food, as I have never eaten there. However, the owner is probably the biggest joke in town. Came out of her restaurant to yell at my husband and I for parking in her "parking spot". No restrictions were posted and we told her that. She immediately threatened to call a wrecker and have us towed. Due to this experience I would never ever eat here. Someone who treats potential customers like this deserves to have none at all. Had lunch here today, first time in town for me. Open face beef, mashed potatoes and lots of gravy. Also had a cup of chicken and dumpling soup. I would give 4 stars for the food and atmosphere gets the fifth star. Everything needed a little salt to make it taste like something but I'm ok with that. It only needed a little. Rosy was there and talked a little smack...it was great. What a neat lady. Rosy disappeared in the back and Tom talked to me from there on.
