What great find on our latest visit to Chicago! The restaurant is very similar to Cava or Chipotle in that they build your bowl as you order. My son had a rice bowl with chicken and I had a mixed greens + rice bowl with chicken. Love that there are so many toppings to choose from like pickled onions, hummus, curried carrots and feta, to name a few. The bowls were very filling and each came with a large round of pita. Definitely a great lunch spot with something for everyone.

If you're on a quick run and you're looking for something tasty to fill you up which is healthy too, Roti is a must go place. The service is quick and no long queues too. The ambiance was nice, like any other fast food place. They did not have many veg bowl options but there is 'Build your own' where you can add combinations of whatever you prefer to eat.

Personally I like Nafnaf better in generally but the food at Rōti was good. The hummus here was not my favorite and the pita wasn't as fluffy as I'd like but the chicken had good flavor and they have lots of sauce options. I do like that the line was really quick and there was plenty of spots to eat.

Our first time here and it was really good! And great portion for the price. Service was fast and employees were nice. The seating is modern and fun!

My favorite work lunch!! After moving from the east coast, I really missed CAVA, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Roti is quite similar if not better. First of all, definitely get the app! For downloading it you get $10 off a bowl, and after I got my first bowl they gave me another $10 off. I love how much food they give you, they definitely don't skimp on the portions like some places do. I have always been able to get 2 meals out of this which makes it such a great deal! I also love that there is no limit to how many topping you can get. There is so much variety and it's a great option for an affordable healthy lunch!

Build Your Own Bowl, photo doesn't do it justice.

Food was delish, quick, and allowed me to indulge in something I wouldn't feel guilty about later. After discussing the menu with the crew on duty I settled on the Build Your Own as the most enticing option. Did not disappoint and I am grateful for the suggestions Keith passed my way. I made sure to tip because the service was top notch. Store was clean with some contemporary hips playing in the background and few customers. Primarily everyone ate and left swiftly. Was a great stop for my needs. Entrance is on Washington and not Dearborn which is the building entrance. The door is between Dearborn and Wabash on Washington.

Build Your Own Bowl (Spicy Steak) and a Spindrift (Raspberry Lime) for just under $20.

Qdoba, but make it Mediterranean. This place will do in a pinch. It's in a large, industrial feeling space that isn't too inviting, but they aren't trying to keep you there long. It definitely caters to all the professionals in the area who are just trying to grab a quick bite at lunchtime. I usually go for a Bowl and I've been pretty happy. You can make it as mild or as spicy as you'd like and mix and match a wide variety of ingredients. A Build Your Own Bowl with Spicy Steak is $14.95 and a Spindrift Raspberry Lime is $2.50. After tax, you're looking at just under $20 for an order that can easily be split into two meals. Not cheap, but not about to break the bank either. I think they are perfectly fine, but I much prefer Naf Naf Grill. That's not to say it's not good. That's just my personal taste. Think of it as Chipotle vs Qdoba. For me, they are Qdoba.

Bowl with rice, chicken, onions, tomatoes and cabbage

I am a sucker for any kind of bowl or dish that includes rice. So when I heard there was a Mediterranean restaurant set up like Chipotle I was all in. The staff were all so nice, friendly and were happy to explain the different types of proteins and flavors. I built my own bowl with rice, seasoned chicken, cabbage, onions and tomatoes. So delicious. Perfect sized bowl and portion for lunch. The veggies were so fresh and flavorful. Dangerous that Roti is in walking distance from my job. I will for sure be a loyal patron.

The food was flavorful. I really enjoyed the Falafel more than the Chicken Pita. The service was friendly and helped us find choices of what to eat.

I had 5 of these in my salad bowl.
    De'Anna W.

Really enjoyed my bowl here after I picked out all of the lettuce cores which seemed excessive. 5 in total smh. Everything else was great though. Loved their pickles. As others have mentioned, this is like the chipotle of Mediterranean food. I love having the option to customize your bowl and get exactly what you like. The pita that comes with it was fresh and made the perfect scoop. The inside was overall clean. A couple wrappers at the drink station. The only visible employee was nice. I'd come here again for sure.

Cafeteria style. Quick but fresh and delish Mediterranean food. One of my favorite lunch spots. The falafel is top tier.

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We had an 8 PM reservation, but since we were in the area early, Chris B. kindly accommodated us for an earlier seating. We settled on the rooftop deck, which set the mood with a vibrant, buzzy vibe. The service was outstanding throughout. Our waiter greeted us promptly, with a trainee at the table. (My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. It did not disappoint! - Pan Seared Halibut: A perfectly seared, delicate fillet, moist and flaky that highlighted the fish's clean, buttery profile. And from the cocktail menu, the Aloe? It's Me. It has a kick to it. Loved it too. Everything was excellent--the food was inventive and delicious, the service was great and the rooftop ambiance added a memorable layer to the evening. Highly recommended for a refined yet relaxed Chicago dining experience.

I highly recommend getting the crispy potatoes as well! I have never tried shakshouka with meat in it before and didn't love the texture. However, the flavor was sweet and savory! The only thing that was not ideal was that an optional surcharge was on the receipt, when we tried to get our server to help remove it per instructions on the receipt no one was to be found. That was disappointing and potentially strategic? I would have rather just tipped. I'm not sure how others feel about the surcharge?

Part of me wishes that we got the chance to sit down inside, but maybe that will be the excuse to come visit another time. The Blueberry Clafoutis was my favorite dish. The blueberries were sweet, and it was like eating a blueberry crepe/pancake. The sweetness level was not overpowering, which was what made this dish so enjoyable. The "Bhel" Hummus and Spicy Whipped Feta were both very tasty. I loved the fruitiness of the "Bhel" Hummus and loved how the Spicy Whipped Feta had its pomegranate bits. PREVIOUS REVIEW Very popular place and hence rather hard to get in. But the wait for once is worth it. The menu items, which come in small portions (tapas size), are very special and not to be found anywhere else. As surprising as some of the items may sound, they all looked great (even the once on other people's plates), and the ones I could get to taste were very special, interesting flavors, and very good. No specific recommendations but would suggest to leave some space for lemon panna cotta. Casual and trendy atmosphere on the Magnificent Mile. Definitely will go back again when in Chicago.

I arrived 25 minutes later and they hadn't even made my order. From there, 3 different people told me it'll be another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and during that whole time there was no apology. One of the workers handed me a tea and later I saw they included dessert in the bag. It was a nice gesture but I was frustrated that it wasn't acknowledged by the staff at all and part of my order was still missing. I paid $2.25 for a Yogurt & Cucumber Sauce which I never received. The Caspian Mix Grill with Albaloo Polo was very good. The filet mignon & chicken breast were both juicy and well-seasoned. The Albaloo Polo is plain basmati rice mixed with saffron, caramelized onion and sauteed sweet & sour cherries. I liked the rice but it felt like they just threw the cherries on top rather than incorporate it into the rice. It was very filling, enough to share with 2 people, and good value. The Bamieh & Balava were also fresh, sweet, and a nice bite to end on. Ultimately, I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 2/5, hence my 3/5 rating.

Nothing really went together and it was warm, which didn't make sense and made it worse. The steak was cooked how I asked, but the sauce was extremely oily and had this strange burnt flavor which likely was from the onions? The onions were extremely burnt, nothing like a typical caramelized delish onion. The chicken had the same issue, everything had that same burnt tasting oil and the chilies sitting in it just made it more intense. It was honestly just edible and nothing I would come back for or recommend. I love middle eastern food and know that even with a midwestern there are some considerations to take with the flavor profile but the burnt onions, burnt spicy oil in the chicken, and a warm salad are all indications for poor execution. As for the actual ambiance and experience it was my birthday and there was no acknowledgment at all not even someone to check in on whether the food was okay. I did not want to order a dessert after the salad, steak, and shawarma all missing the mark. The seating was very uncomfortable. It is cramped and communal and at this price point I expected a much better experience. Will admit I should have looked into the actual dining set up before booking a late night reservation but even still there are so many better places in Chicago where you can get better food and actually feel comfortable. Overall it just was not worth it. I would not return or recommend this spot.
