I moved into a newly purchased home and there was an offensive odor that was making me sick coming from the utility room. I called a few local plumbers, but no one was available for at least 4 weeks. A friend suggested I call Rotoscoped Rooter, as she had a great prior could of experiences with them and so I did. The operator was very friendly and professional. I was able to schedule and appointment to take place within 24 hours. She made sure I got a courtesy call when he was on his way. Cory (Kory) was excellent. He arrived promptly and figured out the odor issue within ten minutes, one that a home inspector, someone from the sewer department and a few others could not determine. He fixed the issue and I no longer have sewer gas emanating throughout my home and I am slowly getting better. I have used this company two times now within the last year, first to install washer hookups in the basement when I moved the washer/dryer from a main floor laundry closet to the basement, and then to repair a leaking toilet. For the hookup in the basement, they came to the house and gave me an estimate within a few days of my call, and then did excellent work. I had an exceptionally bad experience with Roto-Rooter folks in Williston. I hired them to clean out a clogged kitchen drain, and pretty much everything went wrong from the start. Their equipment broke, they were unprofessional and at times downright hostile, and then they refused to fix their mistake. They were supposed to come back the next day to address the problem they caused, and they never did. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter. This was my second time having Corey (one of their technicians) come to my house. The first time was about a clogged shower. It was an emergency call (on my part) and Corey arrived within an hour. Today's incident was a much bigger deal. After the high-volume of rain we had a few days ago my sewer lines backed up, flooding my basement toilet, shower and the floors surrounding them. Not good (see rather gross photos attached). Unfortunately, I was not the only person in the area with problems after the deluge, so Corey couldn't make it to my house until the following morning, but dispatch let me know that and he showed up exactly when I expected him. There is something very reassuring and calming about having a service person who knows what he's doing. The problem ended up being a fairly simple (though dirty) fix. If I had been in charge, I would have made fixing it much more difficult than it actually was. Corey immediately knew which area to focus on and luckily, the clog was gone in less than 30 minutes. Also, Roto-Rooter has a cool camera device that they can feed into drains to check out if there is any damage. I had him do that and it was much like watching a medical show featuring an endoscopy, sort of gross, but fascinating. He fed the camera through my sewer pipes 80 feet out to where they met the city lines and then back the other way to where the lines met my basement bathroom. The whole thing was recorded and at the end I got a USB of the footage to keep for my records. Corey is easy to work with and knows his stuff. He's patient, too, answering my questions as I tried to educate myself about sewer pipes vs. water pipes, clogs vs. ground water, etc. Although I'm not excited about the prospect of having any future problems, I do feel pretty good about having service providers I know I can rely on to watch my back and provide good service. I would definitely call Roto-Rooter should I require drain unplugging (old pipes in my house mean no Draino or similar unclogging liquids) or more investigative plumbing. read more

I called Roto-Rooter (802-863-2722) to unclog a sewer drain on 1/14/17. While the plumber was "working", he got a sewer vent pipe dislodged and disconnected. Afterwards he wouldn't admit he made a mistake and refused to accept any responsibility. Instead he wanted to charge me another $200 to get it reconnected. I got in contact with the owner (Craig). After a long, at times heated and confrontational discussion, he finally agreed to fix the problem. I ended up paying him another $30. On a positive note, the plumber did come promptly when called. However, the total denial of responsibility was unacceptable. All this should not have happened if he had done it correctly in the first place.I would stay away from this company in the future. read more

I would have given 4 stars except the serviceman had to return because the leaking hose from the dishwasher was not replaced but only repaired. They honored their 6 month warranty for the labor. Cleaned my drain, which is what I needed. Came on 24 hour notice, arrived promptly. I'm satisfied with the work. Found the price of $345 to be excessive. I thought RR was an alternative to expensive plumbers which is why I called them. Price was not disclosed when I booked the appointment, only when the serviceman was confirming he was on his way, and by that time I'd already taken the morning off from work. When I was asked to sign the service agreement, I asked about the warranty and he pointed to a row of unchecked boxes. I said "don't you have to check one?" and he got pretty testy and said he'd do that after he cleaned the drain because if it was grease it would only be a 24 hour warranty (it was a kitchen sink, so of course it was grease). Next time I'll spend the $345 on a local plumber. read more

I was charged $499.00 for 1.5 hours of work. This was just a pickup and labor charge. The worker was rude, unempathetic and made it clear that It was alot of work to change a toilet. I don't recommend this company. I'm on disability and have a stairlift and he wondered if he could transport the toilet on it. No. He got it upstairs without help He was so rude. So sarcastic. He double charged. I was quoted 289.00 and he added all this delivery charges. and it came to $499.00. Stay away from this business. They are price gougers. read more

This was the second time they have come to help. I was happy about the availability of the workers to get things fixed in a timely manner. We were even able to video chat to see what I could do in the meantime and exactly what they were going to need so they'd come fully prepared. The only downside was the bill. It seemed too neat in pricing. Instead of a rounded number I expected to see detailed reciept of the parts used and then break down of the time worked. I called Roto-Rooter to have them come auger out my sewer line as well as to see why one of my toilets wasn't flushing. Corey was the tech that showed up. He fixed the block in the toilet with a hand auger. He then ran a camera line down the line to the main to show me where the trouble spots were before cleaning out the line with the auger. Corey came out in the wee hours of a cold morning (12:30am) on 1/6/2016. Our main line was clogged. Before coming out, to try and save me some money, he was helping walk me through it over the phone. Corey from Roto-Rooter came out the next working day and not only quickly fixed that problem, he also diagnosed and fixed another plumbing problem I've had for a while: intermittent freezing of my pipes when the weather gets super cold. Sooo...to add to my previous review, which I did not think was that negative, ( I DID indicate that the technician was polite, on time and the job was done adequately) I wish to add the following subsequent statement: DO NOT GIVE Roto Rooter any kind of negative review UNLESS you want to get a nasty call from them! That's what I got. First of all I shouldn't have gotten a call, reviews are supposed to reflect your experience honestly. Second, it was not at all polite (which I would have reacted to much more nicely), just a basic chewing out for putting up what they thought was a negative review. Pardon me for saying that it was too expensive, but that's my opinion and I am entitled to it. So there you have it. Just pay and swallow it unless you want confrontation and rebuttal. Oh yes, and they didn't offer any kind of refund or even a coupon for a next visit.
