My relationship started with Vermont Energy in 2009 when they won the bid to install the hydronic in floor radiant heat including a high efficiency wall hung boiler and hot water tank in my newly constructed two story home. All the work looked to be of the highest quality. Unfortunately, the boiler had issues and needed to be replaced recently. Vermont Energy was extremely customer oriented and the new system was installed at lightning speed. Four techs showed up and had the new boiler and hot water storage tank installed in one day. Even though the original boiler failed prematurely I am very pleased with the service provided me to make things right. All of the technicians were sharp pencils willing to go the extra mile. I hired Vermont Energy some 10 plus years ago to install a new gas boiler in my home. That installation went extremely well and I was very pleased with Vermont Energy's professionalism from beginning to end with the project. When I decided this year to replace my old and failing a/c - Heat Pumps, I called Vermont Energy for their recommend of a company to replace my system. I was ecstatic to learn that they were in the business of installing heat pumps. I immediately set up an appointment to look over the job and get some options and estimates. The rep Vermont Energy sent out was so knowledgeable of both the installation process and different equipment options for my home. Upon deciding to hire Vermont Energy for the installation, things only got better. The same rep who originally came out to do the assessment, plan and estimates arrived at my home at 7 am with the installation crew. He reviewed the project with the installing team and answered all of my questions. The crew got going right off and it immediately was evident that this crew was a "well oiled machine" in sync with each other. They were very professional, efficient and careful in their work habits. And what a pleasurable bunch to have in the house all day. When the work was completed and reviewed with me, the crew hauled off the old equipment and parts and cleaned up so well there was no sign of them having been here. If there were a 10 star rating available, Vermont Energy would get all 10 stars from me !! read more

Initial interaction was great; installation of our two heat pumps was smooth, the installer was quick, tidy, and cleaned up after installation. The communication was adequate, and we were overall quite happy. We were promised a $350 rebate card in the mail in August. It's now June (over a year after installation), and I have yet to get a positive response from anyone at VT Energy. Having worked in customer service, if I was responsible for an error it's best practice to own up to it. This does not seem to be the case here. Hopefully our heat pumps are without issue, as I'm not sure I want to learn what their other customer support is like. I will have to look into other options on how to get our rebate. Update: I have finally received a response from VT Energy and we have come to a solution which is acceptable for both parties. I appreciate their attempt to correct the issue. Of course, it is impossible to tell the root cause, but I am thankful of their willingness to reconcile. read more

We recently had a Heat pump and air handlers installed by Vermont energy . The service was fantastic the installers were very considerate to our needs and were very informative and answered all of our Questions. After the job was done they did a great job make sure everything was cleaned up and no mess at all . Everyone from the sales representative , installers to the office staff they were all fantastic. They removed existing furnace and A/C unit and installed a new furnace and heat pump. This group is very friendly and approachable. They tolerated my many questions with patience and answered to the best of their ability. They performed the majority of the work on time, thoroughly and were very neat and organized, leaving no mess or debris for me to deal with. There were some technical issues that might have been thought out better prior to the installation but with some very minor nudging from me they followed up and figured out the problem very well. They were able to move up the installation of my tankless water heater by a month, after I let them know the old heater was leaking out of control. Everyone was very friendly and great to work with. Vermont Energy Contracting and Supply installed a new AC into my home. They did a thorough assessment of my HVAC system making sure it had plenty of return air and supply registers for the size of my home. They worked with me for the placement of additional return air register that was needed. Vermonet Energy made an excellent recommendation to install a heat pump instead of an AC for an improved flexibility of both cooling and cost effective heating when it's above 38 degree Fahrenheit. During installation they found a bypassed safety sensor in my heating system that another company installed and gave me the info so that I was able to make the other company fix their mistake. Overall I am very pleased with their work and would recommend them as an HVAC contractor. read more

I am so very pleased with the results of installing a 2nd heat pump in my home. They could not have been better to work with. Drew took every opportunity to ensure I would be pleased with the outcome, and I am. He's a real asset to their company. This is the 2nd piece of HVAC equipment Vermont Energy has installed for me, and both times, I've been beyond pleased with the results. VT Energy installed a heat pump water heater for us and it worked well for about a year and then began to fail. They sent a repairman and he was unable to find the problem. Repeated calls to VT Energy and their promises to "get back to you" or "I will ask Barbara" (whoever that is) resulted in no further action or contact. I would avoid to business with this company and wish I had read other reviews prior to hiring them. read more

Very pleased with Mitzubishi units that were installed in our house last month....just in time for the heat waves that followed. Quiet and easy to run. All units (4) working well in bedrooms and living area of the house. Love the cool!!! VEC&S did a great job of installing all units in one day even crawling through the attic to make all connections invisible. Contractor was easy to work with and was helpful in setting up warrenties and applying for rebates. read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend this company. I had them come for a service call and it ended up costing me $332 and my problem went unresolved. They were not willing to work with me on that price at all, even though I was never told the price of a product they recommended I install, to attempt to fix it. I understand the cost of sending someone out, but not working with me when a problem wasn't solved leaves me extremely disappointed. I had considered them for another project until I got the invoice. Expect arrogance when dealing with them, and expensive service prices. Look elsewhere. read more

I requested a quote to replace a hydronic heating system 3 yrs after having the heat exchanger replaced on my old system. They said they wouldn't quote me a new system since I hadn't taken their recommendation 3 yrs ago, even though I said I now wanted to replace it. I don't appreciate being treated rudely by a contractor, which is how I would describe this interaction. The service tech who did show up when I requested a sales quote told me my exhaust and fresh air intake system did not meet code, which is not true. I would not recommend these guys based on their poor customer interaction skills. Can't really say how good their service is. read more

We had VT Energy to do boiler/furnace maintenance and they did good work. However, when I requested a an appointment with the sales team to install a new water tank, they never showed up and never called me. I eventually called and received a poor response of "someone will get back to you". They never did. I used a vacation day from my job specifically to meet with VT Energy and they wasted it without an apology, explanation, or followup. I assume they no longer want our business so now we have found another company who stays true to their word and has common courtesy. read more

Had them install an insanely expensive state of the art boiler. They did a great job installing and the first year was wonderful, but since then there have been expensive service calls which have put a 'damper' on my experience with them. When you spend almost ten grand, the point is not having to spend a lot of money fixing things in subsequent years. A zone valve failed after two years (they typically last ten to twenty years), an error light shut off the boiler, they sent a technician out who simply pushed a reset button. He was there less than two minutes and charged me $100. They could have instructed me to try this over the phone as a simple courtesy. Over $500 in service calls for broken/defective parts means I wouldn't use them again. If they had given me some type of courtesy discount for parts failing much earlier than they should have, it would have left a much better impression. I've since found a family-owned plumbing and heating business, and they've been so wonderful and kind about helping me avoid spending money unnecessarily. When I call them about a simple repair, they have helped guide me to less expensive alternatives. They've installed two hot water heaters and one (much cheaper) high efficiency boiler, and three years later all is well, not one service call or failed part. read more
