Yovany arrived and checked into the background of our kitchen sink clog issue. He was polite and informative asking questions about the issue and informing us of what he was going to do and what the possible outcomes could be. Yovany then brought in the equipment and protection items for our kitchen area and started working on the drain. He informed us of the status as he went. It was a clog deep in the pipes and took a while to reach and clear. He went over how to use the enzyme clog prevention product in detail and did the first treatment for us. I will NOT use this company again. They charged the double as the others said. They added stuff at the end and asked me $1,150 for unclogging the toilet. In fact, if you hire even Home Depot new installation with the new toilet, it would cost half the price. There should be some regulations in pricing, else we will see this type of issues, especially in Long Island NY, I cannot say for other locations, no experience. Our tub was clogged, and we called Roto Rooter to service it yesterday. The tech was not even in home for 45 minutes. While he was doing the work the technician told us that the cost for just labor and tax almost $700! When he told us the fee, we were irate, but we had no choice but to pay the bill. All the tech did was snake the tub. He didn't repair a pipe or replace anything; he just snaked the tub! I sent an email to complain to the corporate office and was called today by a manager Kenny. He told me that was their price and that was that. What type of company is this? Especially with all of these hard financial times that we are all going through. Forget about the rising gas prices at the pump, we were robbed in our own home! We were charged a ridiculous high cost for the service! The customer service by the manger was terrible! Horrible and extremely pricey. I called to fix outdoor faucet problem . i had water backed up in my outdoor pipe which needed to be drained and the tech said that was not his job. i explained that .in addition to replacing the faucet the water really needed to be drained because it would freeze in the winter and he refused. The only thing they could do was replace my small faucet and the would cost 500.00 . i told him to turn back and found another plumbing company that did all for under 480.00. read more

TERRIBLE!!! Our toilet overflowed bad and leaked through to the floor below. Shut the water off and it was still dripping down to the floor below! I know it's a holiday but we called at 130pm and they told us they would call shortly with a time estimate. We explained that it was an emergency cause the water was dripping from the ceiling onto to the floor below. They said don't worry we will be there soon. SIX HOURS later we heard NOTHING! So we called back, they said sorry you are on the list and would check with the driver and call us back. TWO more hours of water in our ceiling and no bathroom in the house, we called back AGAIn and NO ANSWER!!! WASTED AN ENTIRE DAY WAITING FOR THEM! Stated I can park on my driveway in 2 weeks, and do remaining work needed to be done after job...6 weeks later started work and had a partial collapse in the driveway, which they stated multiple times would not happen after 2 weeks of settling...multiples workers and managers stated there would be no issue with the driveway collapsing after 2 weeks of settling. My elderly family member called roto-rooter in Smithtown in a panic because her kitchen sink was clogged. 83 years old she didn't realize she had some very inexpensive options to clear the drain. Roto Rooter Did come right away(do not charge for emergency visit) snaked her line and replaced a part that cost $70. Tech was not even in home for 40 minutes. Part and labor and tax almost $700. When she told me the fee she paid I was irate! She was charged a ridiculous high cost! Terrible! I did call and really pushed her for some sort of reconciliation regarding the fee. After 2 days I will say she was credited a portion of the fee back. Really sad how high their prices are. Called around and got rates of other plumbers near by for her exact service. No more than $200 was three responses. I can say they did credit some back, which was the right thing however, will never use them again. read more

The service was quick. Within 2hrs the tech was here and tech was nice, experienced and resolved the issue quick which was a simple clog. However I agree with all the comments here that they don't quote prices over the phone and they are ridiculously expensive. A simple bathtub clog that took 20min to snake cost me $571 which with a normal plumber would be half that. So hire beware. read more

Very dishonest from the start, from start to finish. They do not quote you any pricing on the phone, they say,"when their service technician comes out, they will access the situation",(laughable). How do they assess you ask? The "technician" stands with a flashlight and starts with, "to snake the line and use chemicals is 569.00, to use the camera is 469.00." What a joke, they wasted my time, assessing the situation. To the unsuspecting customers, be aware and careful because they will take your money with no problems. Did not fix our clogged drain! We spent $390 for a 15 minute service call for a backed up kitchen sink / clogged drain. They snaked the drain but it didn't work, The only solution offered was to go further with snake but there was 50/50 chance it would break the trap. They recommended using chemicals to unclog, We gave the chemicals a shot to no avail. We ended up calling a local plumber in our town who tried to unclog, another $450 out of pocket without a fix. The local plumber recommended that we call a larger company like Roto Rooter or Mr Rooter because they have special equipment that goes further in drain and sprays water. Since Roto Rooter didn't help the first time around, we opted to call Mr Rooter and problem fixed! Shame in Roto Rooter, I think they guys that were dispatched to our house didn't want to be bothered with our drain issue. Terrible service and we will never call Roto Rooter again. read more

We had a clog in the pipe leading out to the sewer from tree roots. We called Roto-Rooter on a Saturday afternoon and they were here within an hour. The technician worked until 9pm and had someone come back the next day, all for the original price. The 2nd tech was able to clear the drain and we had water again by Sunday at noon. The district manager, Joe, even called multiple times to make sure everything was OK. Steve and Mark, the technicians, were great. They were on top of the job, easy to work with and worked as cleanly as possible, considering the circumstances. My kitchen sink had become a nightmare recently. It kept getting more and more backed up. I tried Liquid Plumber, Draino, plungers ... UGH! I finally broke down and figured I better get someone to fix it. I didn't know where to turn. I called Roto Rooter and was pleasantly surprised at how fast they arrived. It was well within the 1 hour I was told it would take. The tech, Hank arrived with a smile. They give you an honest estimate and explain what needs to be done ... there are absolutely NO surprises. While I could have gone with a local guy and perhaps saved a couple of bucks, I honestly think I got the best deal tonight. My sink was PROFESSIONALLY cleared. Today is Wednesday March 25th. During this extremely trying time due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus, everyone self quarantining, cases rising daily, markets crashing, being unable to go to work and everyone worried about getting sick and running out of supplies... the last thing I needed was a cesspool line clog. Me and my family are home, dealing with all of the challenges everyone else is, but now we cannot flush the toilet, the line is completely clogged. I called Roto Rooter of Smithtown at 9AM hoping someone would answer and give me good news that they can help me because I could not begin to imagine how horrible the days would be for my family self quarantining with no ability to flush our toilet or run our faucets. They answered immediately, took my information and asked what the problem was. Within 20 minutes, a service tech showed up at my house in Selden. Ken Gallagher was the service tech. He also listened to what I had to say regarding the issue we were having with our cesspool system. He immediately sprung into action and jumped into troubleshooting the issue. He snaked thru the line, he crawled under the house into a small crawl space, he cleaned out my trap under the house and replaced trap plugs. He was prompt, he was professional, he communicated with me as he worked, letting me know what he was doing and why. He even drew me a picture of my system and the cesspool line and the vent so I fully understood what my issue was and how he was able to get me back up and running. Me and my family are grateful for Roto Rooter and for Ken for preventing a tough situation becoming even more challenging. They wanted $400 to snake a pipe. When I balked at the price the rep took $100 off the price without hesitation. Even $300 is more than triple what it should and ultimately did cost. Although the their website claims 24/7 emergency service and no additional charge on Christmas Eve, they apparently can't be bothered. I called them Christmas Eve (Saturday night) after my kitchen sink sprung a leak. I had to shut off the main water valve to my house to stop the water gushing in my kitchen. Of course it was a broken flexi line and would have been easily fix if Home Depot was open. I called Roto Rooter and they said they can't come until Monday. So much for emergency service. I had no water anywhere in my house. They could have easily charged me a fortune (which I would have paid) to replace a $3 part. Don't bother with these people. read more

Today the day after blizzard of 2015 Kenny G of Roto Rooter fix my toliet clog. In a matter of five minutes. Due to myself flushing farmer market cooked beets down my mother in laws toliet. These beets have cost me $250 dollars the most expensive beets I have ever served my husband. We had an overflow and a sewer backup on Sunday. We called Roto-Rooter at 4 pm. The rep gave us a service window. Unfortunately, there was a delay, but the rep kept us informed several times. The plumber showed up late in the evening, but cleared the line. Our house is almost 90 years old, but he did replace many caps that were so rusted he had to chisel them off. It was expensive but I guess in the 34 years we have been living in our home and never having a sewer back up, it wasn't terrible.
